Hi everyone! PS Vita was developed with the idea of creating and delivering compelling content for gamers. With the recent announcements of applications such as nico nico, Treasure Park, Wake-up Club, and Skype, we’re continuing to build out PS Vita’s portfolio of applications. Today, we’re very excited to announce the latest application addition to PS Vita – YouTube!
Coming at the end of June, YouTube will be available as a free downloadable application for PS Vita via the PS Vita Store. With the YouTube application on PS Vita, you can watch millions of YouTube videos on the stunning 5” OLED screen, from comedy to gaming tips to today’s viral trends. The YouTube application features many of the functions you’re already familiar with – you can easily search for videos, choose favorites and make comments, and your personal YouTube account is available right on your PS Vita.
As we move further into 2012, we look forward to introducing you to more unique, social and immersive experiences only available on PS Vita. How will you use YouTube on PS Vita?

The PS3 should get a youtube app i know it has the web browser thing but it should get a real downloadable youtube app and a real downloadable crackle app

How is it the Microsoft gets all the cool apps for the XBOX 360. and us at PLAYSTATION never get none of the apps. I would love to see IGN-HBO GO-X FINITY and more apps come to the PS3. and i am sure every body else would too.

so the html5 thingy that vita’s youtube needs will be available for us to watch videos? awesome! and what bout the radios with the java i want that too. Then the only thing i need is to be able to download from web servers (rapidshare, mediafire, among others). and an operating system for me to say “so long PC, hellooo~~ PS VITA” (though i already have one ^^)…… =P
I wish Sony would make the browser more functional and add flash player as well as html5. To me, the browser is almost completely un-usable and i have to switch to an entire different device. You guys need to get on that.
agreed jibbyjam…. hopefully the youtube app fully operational will make sony to release everything else on the browser (java, at least) to be more accessible for us. just a thought so (^^)

So does this mean we should expect a firmware update around the time it launches since currently the Vita doesn’t support HTML5 or flash videos?
Youtube is cool, but when are you going to fix the many problems with the web browser?? We need HTML5 and flash support, they also need to that grey that comes up every time you scroll up or down a web page… it’s a shame that my Xperia Play worked better than my Vita out of the box.

What the **** you do for Ps3 over last year ?? Was firmware update 4.00 the biggest joke in the century !?!?
Even a F****** blu-ray player or BRAVIA TVs have a native app of YouTube(3D+Full HD). Why PS3 couldn’t ???
PSP updates stagnates. And PS3 is still the King in the PlayStation family, not Vita !
I really don’t want to talk about “GreyDated” XMB in PS3, but this is ridiculous.
Tell me, how many users DO use AUDIO/VIDEO chat on PS3 ?? I used it 3times after 3 years.
So here it is: I will never buy PS Vita unTILL I’ll see a YouTube app on PS3. I would rather buy a new PS3 or another Android smartphone or another Android tablet.
The browser is really old, it was designed to be a beta for firefox.

well im not to sure about this just a guess but im thinking that sony didn’t release youtube on vita at launch is because they wanted to make it so you could upload your videos from your vita straight to youtube and yes its just a guess hopefully ps doesn’t fail us
