  • @ 193 @194…. Your RANT FAILS…

Go buy an xbox or Stop complaining.. SONY is different from xbox in a good way. On my vita my non PLUS friends can cross game voice chat, can XBOX silver users do that?? NOPE. As for download lists, you sound like a CRY BABY.. did your mom forget to change your diaper?? LOL

  • @197, for PS PLUS LBP2 is 100% free, as long as u stay a PS PLUS user..

  • @MODS, Please for the LOVE of Sanity, PLEASE ban Ozium402… He doesn’t deserve Blog access. Spammers need to be punished.

  • @196, Happy Birthday! My 320GB HD has 7GB left… I’m in the red zone, haha. Here’s to a promising 32nd year to you! :D

  • Just a note for everyone considering upgrading your HDD. They do make 1 TB and up 2.5″ SATA drives, but you need to be careful because many of those drives are too physically large to fit into the PS3. 2.5″ HDDs aren’t all the same size, believe it or not. It needs to be a standard 9.5mm size otherwise it won’t fit, and most of the 2.5″ SATAs with capacity over 500GB are larger than 9.5mm. I know as of last October (2011) there was only ONE 2.5″ SATA of 1TB capacity being manufactured that conformed to the 9.5mm standard. Not sure of the exact model, but it’s a Samsung. There may be more models available now, just make certain before you buy.

  • Vita Love my Vita love!

  • Big Fan of the Sly Games! So Fun!

  • @202, sound advice! I might add that the 1 TB are the best of the best right now & that means there will be a premium in price. Shop around for the right capacity & you’ll find the best value for your $$. Or else splurge & drop a TB into the PS3! ;)

  • Sony good job!!!! Much appreciate I cant say nothing….Im just blown away

  • Hello! Do this free games expire? I just downloaded the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine and on the details it has en expiration date of 28 days.

  • Boy am I glad I got that 500GB HDD!

  • @207 Viktorio85, when does your PS+ expire? The free games should be available for you to play as long as you continue with PS+. Therefore, the expiration of the games should match the date your subscription expires/renews.
    I hope this helps.

  • This has been an amazing update. When I first heard Sony say it, I thought they were referring to the next YEAR’s worth of content. I was shocked to realize I had 12 games waiting for me to download less than 24 after the press conference!

I know PS+ gets knocked a lot, but I’ve been a subscriber since day 1 and I’m incredibly happy with the service. It led me to discover many wonderful digital download titles and minis, and some of the games (Awesomenauts, Where is My Heart, Stacking, Costume Quest, Mushroom Wars, Swords and Soldiers) have become big favorites of mine. I’ve also appreciated all of the PS1 classics we keep getting, especially Final Fantasy V and Castlevania: SOTN.

The betas have also been wonderful.

Keep up the great work, Sony!

  • The Games Don’t Expire The Expire limit goes away after 1 hour

  • This is WHY Playstation Plus is worth the money. Look at all those FREE games this month. I’m going crazy deciding on what to play first. Thank you, Sony! To my fellow gamers: f you haven’t subscribed to Plus yet, you NEED to. This update is reason only.

  • This update is one good reason to.***

  • I’m really pleased with this, enough that I’ve told several friends and an FB PS3 group that this month is the month to get a PS+ membership if they haven’t already. But Sony really needs to invest in more server capacity because, my god, the downloads are slow. And it’s not like that is at all unusual. I’m sure there are a ton of people downloading the same freebies I am, but even when I’m just buying a game at a random time during the month, the downloads take all night. It’s pretty ridiculous to sell digital products and then require the customers to spend days just to download them.

I’ve had Ratchet & Clank downloading for the last three hours and it’s gone from 26% to 27% (less than 1GB downloaded, probably less than 500MB). I have a 10MB line. At the rate this is going, I’m going to have to leave my ps3 on, unused, for over a week to complete the downloads.

  • Seriamente Sony que intentan hacer con el PS Vita?!
Matarlo antes de bajarlo de precio?! Por que en el E3 no le dieron tanto soporte y por que ahora con los updates del PSN Store del E3 no le dan tampoco Soporte?! SHAME ON YOU SONY! WHAT A LACKLUSTER E3 FOR THE PS VITA! BRING SOME FREAKING LOVE TO THE PS VITA DONT KILL IT PLEASE!

  • @178 Thanks DragonWolfJD. What I did with these deals was add to cart through PS Store and confirmed at the free price. They got added to DL list, but I chose not to DL. Can I then DL them in say, August without having to pay if I didn’t actually DL them in June once my PS+ is still active?

  • Sweet!

  • @ profane

I have 18MB speed and its taking leaving my ps3 on for over 24 hours now and maybe longer…..i have like 4 of 8 games downloaded. It sucksssss. And on top of that the installation is taking forever. Im going on 2 hours at 38% to download infamous 2.

  • @Squiggle55 Thanx a lot dude.

  • BLUExEYED-SLICKT

I hear ya thebgi. I have cable broadband wired internet at 30 mbps speed and 5 mbps upload speed and it takes FOREVER to download a game more than 4 or more gigs and then forever to intstall it so I as well feel your pain of the wait wait and again more wait to downlaod games. See it also sucks we can’t watch Netflix to pass up that download time cause it then puts the games that are downloading in a pending state. So it really SUCKS.

  • Wow thanks for the ton of PS+ love folks! :D Little criticism if I may : I’d love to see some RPG love (and I do mean more than the occasional PSOne classic).

    But yeah LBP2, JC2 and SR2? I’m in!

  • Hey everybody, thought I would let everybody know that psp title called lemmings is now playable on the ps vita and also can be downloaded directly from ps vita store. Now I would need 4 more missing psp games left as of fat princess: fistful of cake, metal gear solid: portable ops, portable ops+ and patapon 3 for ps vita.

  • I just bought another year of plus and in the services list it says next renewal 6/12/2013 but all my games say they expire in 5 days whats going on here ?

Virtua fighter is amazing I love this game I am glad it was free.

Does anyone know if a 1 TB hard drive will work with the PS3 ? I saw a video on you tube in which someone upgraded the PS3 and it worked successfully has anyone else attempted this?

  • @beef_child – Yeah, I think so, as long as you ‘purchased’ them. The PS Store doesn’t consider whether you’ve previously downloaded them or not, just whether or not you’ve purchased them.

@thebgj – It’s ridiculous is what it is. >:( The whole point of announcing this at E3 is to grab as many new subscribers as possible. But if they couldn’t handle the traffic before this deal, what’s it going to be like over the next few months when all those new subscribers are downloading freebies? Even non-PS+ members are going to be experiencing issues when they buy and try to download games.

I got Infamous 2 downloaded fully last night. I suspect just not that many people had grabbed the downloads before they went to bed. ^_^ But I can’t play it without interrupting said downloads. *growls*

  • How come InFamous 2 have a expiration date?

  • Today I purchased PS Plus (see my shiny new Plus Symbol on my Avatar?) and I just installed a 500 GB hard drive to replace my 40 GB one. :-) Great product PlayStation! I am looking forward to all that Plus will have this year.

  • JawIV91CamaroRS

    heck yeah

  • driftersgonewild

500 GB HDD before PS+ Launch

After tuesdays update 142 GB Free

    lolz

  • @thebgj You have 18MBps? Either you are paying a crazy amount of money for super duper fast internet speeds or you meant to say 18Mbps. I used to be confused on this too; it turns out that MBps is different than Mbps which is what ISP (like Comcast or ATT) will use.

MBps (Mega BYTES Per Second) is larger than Mbps (Mega BITS Per Second) by a multiple of 8 if I remember correctly. So if you have 18Mbps connection speed you are actually capped at 2.25 MBps. That seems low, but it is actually quite good for today’s standards. Then factoring in that actual speed for downloads is slower than theoretical top speeds, your looking at probably at anywhere from 1 to 1.5 MBps transfer rate from PSN. Of a 14 GB download (for Ratchet and Clank A4O) at 1 MBps (14,000 MB/1MBps=14,000s/60seconds/60minutes=3.8 Hours) it would take about 3.8 hours or 2.6 hours if downloading at 1.5 MBps and 1.9 hours if downloading at 2 MBps.

  • In my calculations I use MB (bytes) for speed since we are pretty much used to using MB for anything, but in reality you should use Mb (bits) when talking about speed/rates. MB is more common when referring to storage. One thing to always consider when looking at ISP speeds or things like Netflix bandwidth requirements for HD playback, just remember that they are probably using Mbps not MBps.

I don’t mean to sound preachy or snobby, its just that I was not as informed about this before and continuously fooled myself into believing wrong things (especially when trying to figure out why my Gigabit Ethernet cable was not transferring my GB sized file in 1 second! LOL).

  • @222 saab01, I have been there before. You need to update the license for your games manually. Just go to your download list and start the download for your games, once the “Activating” screen flashes by you can cancel the download (no need to download them) and the expiration date will be updated. Some say you only need to start the game for the dates to change, but it didn’t work for me.

  • Thank you guys. Best PS store update ever!

  • SlashGashTerror1

Overtime Will There Be More Free Game Titles With The Caliber Of Infamous 2?

  • I was a temporary 1-month Plus member a couple years ago during the Welcome Back program, when I was offered the free month and games but thanks to this update I’m a happy 1-year Plus member for the first time.

Thanks, Sony! This was the kind of offer I’ve been waiting for to get me to cave in and subscribe. Please keep it up and make this the standard for future updates. If so, you’ll surely get a higher conversion rate for PSN+ memberships.

I don’t see the gold Plus icon by my avatar yet. :(

  • HELLO…

WOULD LIKE TO LEAVE A MESSAGE:

PLEASE CONSIDER THE ASIAN REGION WITH REGARDS TO THE PLAYSTATION PLUS DEALS – WE’RE ALWAYS EITHER THE LAST PEOPLE TO GET THESE GOODIES OR WE DON’T GET THEM!

  • Do we keep our trophies on the games we got for free even after PS PLUS expires

  • @235, all FREE (important, not paid from a + discount) games & their trophies will be removed as soon as your + membership expires.

  • @235 That is absolutely NOT TRUE. Trophies that you’ve earned will never be taken away, even on free titles (I know this because trophies I’ve gotten were not removed when it expired. Second, when your PS Plus expires you can no longer play any FREE PS Plus games but if you re-subscribe to PS Plus all previous downloads will still be available for play from your Download List (even if they are no longer being offered as free in the PSN Store). Games that were bought with deep discounts are yours no matter what.

  • Oops meant to say @236

  • When will we see some PS+ Vita discounts? Want!

Oh yeah, also, HOLY CRAP that’s a lot of free games!

  • LOL, I left my Xbox a year ago and been on PS every since, Love every min of it… AND PS+ RULES!!!!!!!

  • @237, hrm… let me get this straight. The trophies I aquire w/ a free PS+ game will not be erased when I end my subscription?

  • When are you showing some Vita love for Plus members? Free Vita games and PSP compatible games would be a great addition for some of us who own PS3, Vita and some others PSP as well! i mean some minis i’ve downloaded with plus are already on my Vita’s memory card, give me some good deals on Vita as well, maybe a Vita and PSP game sale, i don’t know! give me somenthing for all my PlayStation Devices!!! Would you please!?

  • BTW i loved the update! BEST ONE EVER!!!!!!!

  • Fat Princess is still a pretty expensive game with no demo. Putting on Plus for free or 50% would make me bite the bullet. Timing is great now that Fat Princess will be featured in All Stars, yet far fewer people are familiar with her vs the other characters.

  • Megadrixfire_24

Wow! great update, you earned another psplus subscriber

  • Thank you for the great selection of free games for the PS+ program.

I downloaded most of the games, however, Sly 3 quits downloading when it reaches the 6802MB mark. I’ve tried twice with no success.
