Included are in this PlayStation Vita package are Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. As a bonus, the original MSX games Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake are included, showcasing Snake’s very first missions.

PS Vita also sees another release this week with Pulzar: a mind boggling puzzle game that turns nearly any flat surface into an epic battle against time and a looming celestial event with the use of your AR Play cards.

You’ll also find new PSN releases to play on PS3 this week including the critically acclaimed Batman Arkham City joining the PS3 Full Game ranks, and PSN Game Babel Rising. Babel Rising empowers you to use divine powers by hurling bolts of lightning, summoning massive earthquakes or unleashing gigantic floods upon the Babylonians who are trying to build the great tower of Babel. Both titles are available today!

PlayStation Plus might be your new instant game collection, but we’re still hitting members with great discounts on amazing content in the PlayStation Store. This week, we’re continuing E3 by bringing the best games of E3 shows from years past starting with two titles that made waves at E3 2009: Split/Second at 40% off and Borderlands at 30% off!

Make sure you check out all the details below including additional PS3 Full Game releases like Just Dance 3 and Dirt Showdown, and let us know your thoughts in the comments! • Yay!!

  • You can count the games in MGS HD collection in several different ways, and none of them amount to 3 games.

  • Finally! :D

  • So, it has taken this long…for this? I don’t understand.

  • im interested in the batman arkham city… but its a secuel of the arkham asylum right? why that game isnt in the store? we will have it some day soon?

  • It’s Wednesday.

  • FINALLY!!!!

  • Wow! I stayed up this late on the east coast for this small update? Well at least last week’s was awesome! Tune in next week!

  • Well that was fast! also i have a question i have 42 days left of ps plus if i renew my subscription now will i lose those days?

  • Why is Dirt Showdown $20 more for a digital copy than the physical copy’s retail price? I’m not saying the retail physical game has dropped in price, that’s always been the actual price for it: $39.99.

  • Where do we go to reach a human regarding items missing from the PS Store? Sony sent me to Tecmo-Koei and Tecmo-Koei told me to ask Sony.

Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires has been missing armor set 12 (Female Valkyrie Armor) for months.

  • @6 It is Wednesday on the east coast, but I guess Sony counts their updates for the west coast where it is still technically Tuesday. Good job Sony.

  • You people need to find a better method for updating your store. It’s 2012, and every single one of your competitors seem to be able to do this.

  • I had this huge rant i was going to post but decided against being “That Guy.”

Now i’m hearing that Gungnir is not Vita compatible and I just… what?

It’s time to get your you know what straight. These late updates, the impression that you have no interest in promoting the Vita… It’s like Sony doesn’t want our money.

So glad I got Gravity Rush retail. Would have done some good had you gotten a game the majority of your Vita owners wanted out at a reasonable time because you know the Vita is all about the Digital Downloads…

You have a broken process and it needs to be fixed… asap

  • No apology in the opening statement for being damn late with PSN Store Update? How shame. Always business as usual….

    • These are written in advance and are locked and loaded for publish as soon as the Store is published. Although I passed along apologies in my first comment; I’ll look for ways to integrate an apology statement in Store Updates that may be running late. Although the overall dea would be to not see these happen!

  • Long day for you guys, huh? Hopefully this doesnt make it longer. On the most current firmware, the optional one, the Escape Plan demo does not work. I get an error every time. I have installed it twice and rebooted my Vita, but no luck.

    • Looking into this now. Preliminary reports state that it may be experiencing issues if your PS Vita firmware is not up to date. Give that a shot if you haven’t done so already.

    • looks like it may not be related to the firmware afterall. Stand by for more and we’ll keep you posted in this space

  • I’m going to pick up Sonic CD and some DLC, thanks!

However, it has been brought to my attention that the Sonic generations Casino Night DLC isn’t yet on the US PSN Store… other regions already have it… I hope it gets here too…

    Thanks again.

  • Not worth the wait.

  • For anyone wondering Arkham City purchase includes the Catwoman DLC bundle with the full game, great deal just bought it. Finally vindicated after selling my blu-ray after the May + fiasco, LOL.

Picking up MGS HD for Vita but still want to know why the, more for your money, PS3 version hasn’t gotten a PSN release? Guessing so not to curb any sales of the Vita version but the PS3 version still deserves a PSN release imho!!

Now where in the heck is The Walking Dead Ep.2??? Telltale sure is having a fine time showing it off and getting write ups for it but when is it coming???

  • @14. I totally agree with you. Could you guys at least mention if a PSP game is Vita compatible or would that just delay the store another twelve hours?

  • Can we get an apology, this shouldn’t have taken so long.. if this was my job I would’ve been fired.

  • @9 your subscription period stack, eg. if you renew today and buy a year you’ll have a year AND 42 days to enjoy PS+

@topic: HALLELUJAH! what a late update that was! Gotta check on Arkham City and Split/Second :P

  • #9,
Of course this is just what I heard, so don’t take it as fact, but I think those days get tacked on.

Has anyone heard anything good about Pulzar? Seems like a fun little game to have on the Vita.

With the release of Babel Rising and all of the announced Move games, the blog could really benefit from an updated post about all current and upcoming Move games.

Escape Plan, a great game that still shines! I recommend Vita owners that haven’t bought this game try the demo.

  • yay, way to go sony, for making us lose that much faith in you!

it’s bad enough that the store design is so poor, and that we have to wade through hundreds of downloads to redownload anything from our early gaming ventures with the PS3.

I mean, a late update is a late update, but at least tell people that their accounts got hacked.. er, I mean that millions of credit, I mean that the store update has been delayed. Yes, we see all the articles on these fancy schmancy new games people will be playing for hours to come.

And no new PSone classics? or PS2 classics? come on, all the PS2 backwards compatible PS3’s are dying out!

    • you’re welcome to follow me on Twitter and I’ll make sure I announce when delays may be inbound. @morganharo. We can’t make a blog post stating that the publish may have a delay I’m afraid, but thanks for your patience.

  • Late as helllllll SONY. better late then never i suppose…

  • Error for Escape Plan: (C2-12828-1)

  • Is there any way PS Plus members that have a Vita get into the LBP Vita Beta? I don’t think it is fair how the Devs on the game handled the Beta handout. There are people that don’t a Vita but have a code for the Beta. Please let us know that don’t have the beta.

  • Wow this was pretty late. I really dont see why you guys still dont have a set timedate as to when the PSN is updated. it seems very unprofessional and just shows that you guys probably wait till the last minute to get everything ready. Also note if you want Digital Downloads to be a “thing” you really need to start updating a lot earlier. Because people can get their games a lot earlier at retail stores than on your own store which isnt right in my eyes.

All in all though its a good update, but not worth the wait. getting Gravity Rush, and PulzAR, and finally going to be able to try out Escape Plan. I also would have gotten that Borderlands bundle, but i already own it for PC and i believed paid less than that for it. sorry.

Again good update, but you guys seriously need to start having a set time as to when PSN gets updated.

  • so i bought a Vita today (awesome for music netflix and all kinds of crap!!!! like an iphone that can play some PSP/Vita games!!!) with that said will DEFINATELY check out Gravity Rush and Gungir one day

  • #20,
They don’t owe you anything. Please, just comment on the content and not about the timeliness. Think about all the weeks you were pleasantly surprised by early updates and get a warm, fuzzy feeling from that.

Anyone else have the game Test Yourself? Is it just me, or is there a piece of content that has yet to be released? I wonder if that is still in the works.

  • You made us wait for this…? wow what malarchy.

  • Can you PLEASE just start updating the store early in the morning? I don’t know say 6 A.M. Would be nice and help me from having to wait until Wednesday for the store to update when it should have updated on Tuesday!

  • and corny update, where the living hell iss the Walking Dead Ep 2 ?

  • good thing the battlefield 3 maps still don’t work

  • It is Wednesday here already, too late guys i’m going to bedin few mins. update early next week please. good update by the way

  • Is Gungnir Vita compatible or what before I waste my money?

  • About time but its also really disappointing that we STILL dont have the promised digital version of the MGS: HD collection for PS3

  • This is an awful update, and it didn’t show up until Wednesday.

  • Not sure I like this new Plus scheme.
Yes there were a bunch of games last week, but to hear that these same games (of which 9 I already have) will be on the Store for upto 16 weeks, why?
Loyalists are getting screwed on this so you can pander to new users.
    Again.
PS weak update for how long it took.

    • New Plus content will be coming much more often than 16 weeks. That piece of info was taken a bit out of context. Count on new free content as often as Plus had been updating it before, only with more free games rotating in, while a persistent instant game collection available free to download.

  • @9 Any PS+ subscriptions you purchase are added to your current amount, so the new 3 months or 12 months you purchase are added to your 42 days. I top mine up when and if I have some cash spare.

  • @36 I have been asking everyone affiliated with Konami Digital Entertainment for months now to no avail about that. Vita digital version is all I can guess that stopped, or delayed, MGS HD PS3.

  • What happened to the PS Vita version of Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock? The launch trailer said it would be out this week

  • Free games on PSVita please :(

  • @35

I’m being told no and that is with trying to transfer from ps3 to vita. I can’t believe that this is still disappointing me.. Should have known better.

    @41

I recall seeing something saying it got pushed back for more work or something like that.

  • @35

    Gungnir is NOT Vita compatible.

According to Atlus’ site administrator on their forums, it is up to Sony to make the game Vita compatible.

So save your money for the time being, I guess.

    http://atlus.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10229

  • Gungnir for the PSP???? That’s a nice surprise!!!

  • Is doctor who coming out tommorow wendsday?, because we’ve been waiting alot for i

  • Rocksmith Queen DLC without “We Will Rock You” (for the solo) or “We Are The Champions”?
After someone just won the Stanley Cup Final??

  • i don’t understand why the new software can’t be uploaded a day in advance, along with the handful of database entries or new menu items, and scheduled to automatically go live at 12:01 on the day it’s released. instead we get stuff 23 hours later, and it hasn’t been thoroughly QA’ed. if it was a one-time thing, it wouldn’t be as irritating. but it’s a recurring problem. It’s really unprofessional and disrespectful to be inconsistent and unreliable – especially when updating the store is a task that’s been going on for years. and if there’s a reason for problems or delays that is occasionally out of your hands, how hard is it to post an explanation on the front page of the store? or to send a system message to ps3, vita, and psp users?

  • @Tyfighter80 konami reason why it doesn’t include peace walker is because why should they do it when you can simply play the psp version on the vita or something like that pretty much they just want more money

@CloudBurner1112 I know someone who has couple of years on their ps+ subscription I can’t remember why he did that though I think it was something about a discount or a sepical anyways they do stack and it would just add on to what you already have

@ everyone complaining about the late update yes it is late so what they probably was having some problems with it and you guys need to learn patience just download the stuff that you want you it gets releases or wait until tomorrow the is no reason to get upset about you guys are acting like a bunch of whining little kids
