Is Shadow of the Colossus going to be the HD version or a PS2 (classic) port of the game?

drakerules09 said:

@102 HD…why in the world would they sell the ps2 version

ccrogers15 said:

Why dont you add APE ESCAPE to psone classics? Its a SONY FIRST PARTY TITLE and is still not on the PSN.

Also, can you add some HIGH QUALITY games to the sale instead of petty PSN games? Like um… GTA IV, Dead space, etc? We dont want infamous festival of blood or house of the dead. We want FULL ps3 games in the sale.

Rene_Led said:

June 29th, 11:35 am

@104 Would like to know since for all we know it could possibly a ps2 port and then we’ll see whining children about why is it not HD or does it have trophies.

June 29th, 11:36 am

I’m trying to build up my wallet, but every week the deals are getting better. There’s always something new to buy. I’m gonna have to get at least three of these games, and renew my PLUS for another year. Even though your breaking my wallet, I could never ask you to slow down. Thanx for all the amazing deals SONY.

Etharius said:

Not bad, but the only title I’d have picked up (Shadow) I have on disc.

Any chance of a PSP sale to match the one in Europe? Might help shift some more shiny Vitas…

aramankain said:

Just chiming in on the Vita chorus here as well. I WANT more reasons to get one, but being a PS+ member and seeing a distinct lack of Vita games and no news on the PS Classics coming to Vita is really turning me off and making me feel like Sony just doesn’t have any immediate interest in increasing their install base.

Somewhat related: Some news on whether or not Final Fantasy Type-0 will ever be localized for N.America would be great… someday. But I know that’s a Square Enix thing and not on you guys.

June 29th, 11:41 am

PS2 Classics are priced at $9.99 so it is an HD. Because the if it wasn’t the price for plus members would only be $4.99.

Wntermute said:

June 29th, 11:43 am

@105 Because Ape Escape uses two thumbsticks and the PSP only has 1. Of course, they released Pocket Fighter as PS3-only, so who knows.

Hi! I am wondering if U.S can expect to see the ratchet and clank trilogy in the store any time soon? I’m itching to play it.

drakerules09 said:

June 29th, 11:46 am

@114 u be lucky to play that in oct or nov in u.s

June 29th, 11:49 am

Those are great games, but what I would really like to see is more games for the ps2 on there like Balder’s gate 1 and 2, Champions of Norrath and return to arms along with several other big ps2 hits. There are a lot of ps2 games that I would buy if someone were to add them to the ps2 library.

June 29th, 11:50 am

There is a PLUS discount on the individual games but not the dual pack, but i’m sure if you wait a while there will be a nice discount.

June 29th, 11:52 am

They said we should get a few weeks after EU. Sometime this summer.

ReDHaze_Phoeinx said:

June 29th, 11:52 am

@115 I was hoping it would be a little sooner than that. I’m sure that would draw a bigger market in U.S I myself would buy it in a heartbeat. I grew up with them.

Really angered by the lack of Vita sales on here. How hard would it be to have sales on some of your Vita and PSP listings? SCEE just had an awesome Vita sale, yet SCEA seems to want nothing to do with it. What was the point of me buying your $100 memory card if SCEA is going to basically pretend that the Vita doesn’t exist?

It is getting to the point that I am starting to regret buying my Vita.

Some interesting deals, IMO. I’ll probably get NBA Jam, Closure and Festival of Blood.

Probably, because I still have one unplayed game from last year’s summer sale. Man, I need more free time.

This week sale update doesnt convince me at all, i mean good prices and a great sale as always but some of these titles are in my opinion a lame and the ones that ive could be interested i already got the plat, it is a no no for me on this week sale, but as i said, as great as always.

Now that everybody its talking about PS1 classics, what about some japanese love? what about another FF title for plus? or a discounted price on this upcoming month? or instead of FF what about RE titles? i wont extend myself on any other great games of PS1 but it would be cool to see more presence of PS1 classics on the store.

A Sale that only focuses on Ps3 ? It would be fair to put some PSOne, PS2, PSP and Vita titles too.

I´d like to have WA1 and 2 on sale, as well MGS and some action on PSOne too.
For PSP games as Corpse Party, MH, Wild Arms, and some other titles should have a Sale too, people who own PSP and Vita say thanks.

I think Plus should have discounts or free games for PSP and Vita owners too, I used my PSP just to play PSOne and Mini games given by Plus but I haven´t seen any PSP Games on this program in 1 year and half, it would be nice to have psp games too, or get some discount over them.

@52, slaysme- Playstation is a Japanese company but we are not in Japan where the sale demographics you listed do not line up entirely. RPGs are more popular in Japan indicated by their sales, while FPSs are not. It has nothing to do w/ the 360, just what consumers purchase more of in a given area. JRPGs are fading, almost every major Japanese label are putting their efforts on action oriented titles.

Yes, we all want Vita sales because it’s the new system on the market. I really don’t see it happening often though (even while PSN EU had a recent sale) as well… for that very reason- it’s thee new system & people will buy it. Once the big titles come out (again, FPSs like COD), the Vita will slowly prosper. What would be nice is + discounts/perks on Vita games.

“Stop chasing the FPS crowd.” Very hard to do… near impossible on any platform w/ exception of the PC. Even COD sells well on the Nintendo platforms. FPSs sell. We love weapons, loot, multiplay, vehicles, maps, smart AI, & who doesn’t like portable gaming? COD will never fall like Rockband- that is unless they begin charging for MP.

The Summer Sale is pretty decent. A nice range of again, decent quality games in several different genres.

keep doing great!

June 29th, 12:52 pm

People please stop complaining about the vita games, You should know by know that this console already has lots of games and more on the way. SONY will support it. And with a little patience your content will come. So please relax and rest assured knowing that more is on the way. SONY always gets better, and better. It just takes time. “All good things come to those who wait ” (said someone)

I can’t really agree that JRPG’s are fading or that they lack the kind of popularity necessary to garner sales in the US. Part of the JRPG problem in recent years is that they simply just aren’t any good. The fact that RPG’s tend to maintain solid positions on the PlayStation Stores (namely Final Fantasy VII) most downloaded titles is a strong indicator of this. Seriously what was the last good JRPG you can remember playing? Final Fantasy XII… it had its issues, but that was pretty much the end. We’ve seen only one truly good JRPG in Lost Odyssey and a good attempt to make up to fans with Final Fantasy XIII-2. The rest have been utter garbage in just about every respect. It’s either a rubber stamp of where we’ve been before or nothing that addresses the awe factor of this generation. The problems that plague JRPG’s will soon hit the Shooter genre at the rate we’re going.

hi all.
I don’t know what we will get on the European psn, but I remember getting a lot of titles, on summer and Christmas and Easter deals, like icon, sotc, motorstorm apocalypse, crisis, etc etc.
I would like to have games we can’t find at the stores, like:
– folklore – I loved the demo, music was great and the game got good reviews
– afrika – my 63 yo parents have played peggle like 10 000 times, with my first psn login.I’m sure afrika would be great for them, and for me.
-Lair – first 1080p game, sadly criticized by Xbox websites, after the patch for controls, this game could be a good surprise for many people.

Sony, please make these 3 games available on the psn, for 9$, or 9€, they could make you some easy cash.really.(OK,there are some bandwidth costs )

atomizer said:

also, would like to see some full games, like last mortal kombat, for 20-25$

today, several years later, cod games are still expensive, at stores.I don’t want to play online, but the solo campaigns would be great. couldn’t we have mw2, for less than 25$, during one week, for psn+? and black ops, for max 30-35$?

here, where I live, black ops costs 59 chf, like 60$, on the psn.I will NEVER pay that cash for a game released 1 or 2 years ago.why milking more and more? is activision that poor???

just one question, if you buy a game on the psn, you can activate it on 2 systems.
if I want to deactivate just one particular game on my system, is it possible?
or I can only deactivate All the games at once?

thanks ;)

some ppl on here feel the need to defend there playing style. GTFO. anyways how about Vice city and GTA sand andreas in the ps2 classics ? saw many ppl ask for those lately. i already got them on ps2 but on ps3 will save me the hastle of rehooking my ps3 and ps2 back and forth. BULLY would be great aswell. plus Rockstar deserves every penny they get. GTA V is on my Radar.
