  • I have a suggestion for PS+. I’m sure it has been suggested already, but anyway…

Maybe you could create a separate PS+ subscription for the Vita that could go for $50 a year and give about the same amount of content for the Vita that we now get for PS3.

And then you could create a “Master PS+”, or something like that, and you could charge about $75-$85, and be it like a Complete-PS+ in which users could get the content for PS3 and Vita at the same time.

Probably that’s not going to sound good at all for many people, but I think that this kind of setup could give Sony a chance to bring very great stuff for users that only have a PS3 or a Vita, while at the same time the owners of both consoles could get all the benefits for a discounted price, you know, like $80 a year, instead of $100.

    Just a suggestion.

  • Brave is $29.99 at Target this week. Just sayin’.

  • Planning on renewing my PS+ for this, just one question but will PS+ ever offer Vita deals in the future?

    • highly likely and such an addition to the Plus program would certainly require much thought and planning. but nothing to announce at this time.

  • SUIKODEN Games please.

Punch Konami in the face if you have too.

  • nothing real exciting again..

  • @61 – amen. Gundam SEED is awesome on Vita. Why we only get the terrible games in the West and not the decent ones is beyond me…

Still, thanks for making Vita region free Sony :)

  • Morgan, can you see if the team can port ” Wizardry: The Labyrinth of Lost Souls to the Vita “?

  • Very niiice update Sony store team!
Grabbing Shadow of the Colossus without a doubt…I’ve wanted to experience it for a long time now (PS2 version).
Thanks for the discount, is Ico next? ;-) Question ab out the atlas games: Are those permanent price drops or 1 week discounts? I would like to add my opinion that it would be great if PS+ included a free monthly PSP game.

Loving my systems and have been since 1997.
Thanks a lot for all of your hard work everyone.

    • The Atlus sale goes through the month of July. There is a post on this on the blog, check it out!

  • SLEEPLESS_KNIGHT

Wowzers! Between the summer sale & the Atlus sale I better go grab some PSN cards on my way home from work tonight! It’s this right here that makes my PS3 more valuable to me than my 360 anymore. The savings on PS+ are truly much better than paying for the “privilege” of playing online with a few extra perks such as cross-game chat & parties.

In addition, the PSBlog site seemingly always has new stuff to read, multiple times per day most days. The other 2 guy’s blogs? (insert crickets chirping sound here).

Now if Sony would just eliminate my slight buyer’s remorse (and my wife telling me she told me so) for buying a Vita and open up the PS1 classics catalog and incorporate PS+ in some way with it I’d be set.

    • Jeff, Sid, Rey and countless others work incredibly hard to keep the Blog content relevant and rollin’ along. I’m sure they appreciate your view on the Blog!

  • All plus members should pick up Pac man its soooooo much fun.

  • @25 your comment is ridiculous. if you think the digital price is pathetic go buy physical games and stop ranting on here all you do is whine.

  • Hey Morgan any news on that Megal gear solid HD colletion PS3 version coming to ps store? i never got to play a MGS game and i´ve been waiting for the HD collection to be up on the store so i can finally get a chance to play it, if you have any news on that it would be nice to hear about it.

  • SalamanderKnight

Loved this update but where a Playstation+ deal? I mean I want tor renew my subscription since I only have a few months left but I don’t want to subscribe to later find out there’s some deal. >___>

  • The following conversation occurred between SCEA employees at five seconds after the PS store was just updated.

Staff G: M and J, you’ll handle the comments today, okay? Good night.

Staff M: Wait a minute, I think we forgot something!

Staff G: What is it now?!?!

Staff M: I think we forgot about the Vita. We didn’t put any games, demos, new psp games, psone-compatibility news, nothing!

Staff G: Would you relax?!?! What is the next PSV game in our pipeline?

    Staff J: Umm I think…Sound shapes? But that’s still a month away!

Staff G: Now here’s the easiest part, call the developer and ask for 5-10 screenshots or maybe a minute long gameplay video, post a blog about it and slap a big fat “coming soon”

Staff J & M: That’s genius!!!! Thank you for saving our asses from those harsh comments.

    Staff G: You’re very welcome…

(I’m just kidding guys :-) and great PS3 & PS+ contents btw! Looking forward to play gotham city impostors, catherine and the shadow of the colossus. Thank you so much for the discounts)

  • I would just also like to make a list of games that should make it to the free instant collection.

    Resistance 3
    Uncharted 3
    Outland
    Peggle
    Shatter
    Fat princess
    Sine Mora
    Journey
    I Am alive
    Castle Crashers
    Beyond Good and Evil HD
    Braid
    Resident Evil 4 HD

  • The Atlus sale is just WOW. This is what psn needs more of. I wasn’t planning on a PSN purchase until Rainbow Moon week but now I’ve just got to add to my Atlus collection.

Now give us Gungnir compatibility for vita!!!!

  • Mr. Haro, I’d like to voice my frustrations towards SCEA and Playstation Vita. Let me first say that the Vita has the best hardware I’ve ever used. It’s a brilliant mix of current technology and comfort. I suppose this is why I’m angry. You, I’m sure, have heard our complaints. You’ve heard our complaints on PSP, and when I read the initial interviews about the Vita (then called NGP), I was excited. Sony seemed to have figured out what the problems were with the PSP and how to fix that. They didn’t put enough resources into it, focusing rather on the console. The put their AAA devs almost exclusively on console rather than to the handheld space. Things were looking up.

The Vita has now been out for almost five months. The AAA devs have still not shown up for development on Vita, and it’s clearer than ever that SCEA is not putting enough effort and resources into the system. I see the same thing happening with Vita that happened to PSP. This makes me angry, because I heard it would different. I believed it. Yet, week after week, we see a huge life for the console, and next to nothing for the handheld that needs that life more than anything. (continued)

  • I mean, here, let’s look at this incredible summer sale we have this week. Some fantastic deals. Weirdly enough, though, there are no Vita titles. Too early to have a sale for Vita? Well, SCEE for the past couple of weeks has had great deals on Vita games. Many of them, in fact. And the Vita came out in the same timeframe there that it did here. We don’t see that here, and we don’t hear a real reason for it. What AAA (or even close to AAA) exclusives does SCEA have coming up on Vita? None? On PS3, we have God of War: Ascension, LittleBigPlanet Karting, and The Last of Us at least. Those are all sure to be great AAA titles on PS3. Let’s go further. What was the last ANNOUNCED AAA title from SCEA? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe it was Unit 13, a launch window game that would be hard-stretched to even be called a AAA game (not to mention it’s from a now-defunct studio.

I’m not expecting you to reply (or at least have a genuine reply), but I hope you know that there are many of us that are beyond disconcerted with this handheld that we love.

    • have faith my friend. it’s a young system and it’s potential will start to increase with time. hope you stick with it; but I’m afraid my focus is on PSN, and not so much Vita, so I must be upfront with you and let you know this isn’t something that I can pass along as I need to focus on core PSN. But there is a strong focus internally at SCEA to ensure Vita continues to get great content in the pipeline. Look forward to awesome things to come.

    • thinking on this more though, i will make sure to deliver feedback to the store team to see about pushing more sales on ps vita on the scea psn side.

  • Juststeveplease

“IRON” MIKE TYSON IS COMIN TO “WWE 13” THIS OCT.30

  • Great update! But, when will the Crunchyroll app be coming to the PS3? It’s going to be this summer but I’d like to know a certain date if possible.

  • Alright, so maybe just complaining isn’t helping, sorry about that. As long as the two stores have different selection I think there will always be some complaints. Just for the record, I would very much like Deus Ex, MotorStorm, and Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath. I don’t think it would be that hard considering they were willing to do it for EU. Multi-player only games will always be a bust for the chunk of people who don’t ever play them, so maybe don’t have them as the featured game of the month. Again sorry for not offering anything constructive from before.

  • Still no GOD OF WAR: ASCENSION demo :/

  • WHERE ARE MY PRE-ORDER AVATARS FOR RESISTANCE BURNING SKIES?

  • Another excellent update. Glad to see I’m getting my moneys worth out of PS+. Only complaint I have is I don’t have enough time to play all these games.

  • why is the Killzone 3 multiplayer on sale but not the map packs for those who have the disc version of the game?!

  • Hey sony i dont know if you knew this but that IGN Video review you posted is for xbox360

  • @117, fair rant but looking back at console launches- from the 360, PS3, PSP, 3DS, the first 3 months were not content heavy. We didn’t even hit TGS yet; which explains why there were no real announcements from Japanese devs regarding the Vita/PS3.

Toward your question about why sales are diff. vs. the Euro. PSN store, it’s a matter of diff. regions = diff. promotions & sales. It’s comparable to why some regions have exclusive Collectors Editions for games.

  • “+ PowerCorruption on July 3rd, 2012 at 12:31 pm said:

I have over 800 downloads in my Account, you guys really need a better organization setup for those of us who buy a lot of content from you. You should have an option to sort alphabetically, by add-ons, by Plus downloads, and by themes/avatars.

It would also be nice to be able to sort your games by name.”

YES AND YES.. We need to be able to sort our Download List. I had to replace 2 dead PS3 systems in the last 6 months and it was a NIGHTMARE to scroll through 1000 downloaded items. I’d like to have the Demos, Avatars, Themes, PSX, Rock Band content all separated.

And I still can’t believe it’s 2012 and we can’t sort our downloaded contend ALPHABETICALLY. What is the problem here? There must be a reason Sony doesn’t want us to. Or Maybe Microsoft holds the patent for sorting digital content alphabetically. Please give us some answers Mr. Haro!!

  • Catherine for $19.99??

Wow. I bought it a while ago when it first came out for $59.99 and I think it is one of the best games this generation.

That price is a steal for that game and I highly recommend it to anyone who doesn’t have it.

  • I have some requests for future store update:

    1. In the PS3 Add-ons section, please list the price of the individual item, as previously done, for clarity.
    2. In the Additional Sales and Deals section (previously called Updates), please clearly state, whether it is a sale or price drop for each item, as previously done. Also, please indicate whether it is PS3, PSN, or PSP, as previously done. Having all information in one post is better than having to go to the store to figure it out.

    Some comments:
    1. I prefer the format that Grace Chen originally introduced; i.e., all items fully listed at the end of the post, not some at the top and some at the bottom. The store highlight should go back to the top, not in the middle.
    2. Great job posting prices of all items in the PS Plus section. In the past, this is not consistently done.

  • Sorry but i saw the last Instant Game Collection included the inFamous Festival Of Blood but now just a discount ?
    and nothing good for Vita
    What’s going on :(
inFamous Festival Of Blood will be free for Instant Game Collection this July right? not just a discount ?

  • Shadow of the Colossus, HotD III, Persona 2 Portable, Catherine and The Walking Dead ep. 2 for me today then. Expensive week, but at the same time some really great deals.

Hey, at least Gotham City Imposters isn’t going to cost me anything!

  • PS+ for the win! Makes me glad I never bought many of the PSN titles… they eventually all come to PS+!

  • @127, I meant the first 6 months, haha.

  • To those who are not happy with the vita software situation, either sell it off and save yourself some grief or learn to adjust your expectations. Fuming because you don’t see announcements isn’t going to help anything.

I’m not going to make any case for the vita, I don’t care, I’m satisfied on the general whole, and if you’re not, well, it sucks to be you. You can do your own homework as to what’s upcoming.

The 3ds lineup, the first year of release, was far weaker than the vitas. Nintendo insulted 3ds owners with a pathetic weak sauce lineup of games, insulted owners further with n64 ports before finally delivering two staple nintendo franchise offerings, neither of which I consider must own since you can pretty much play the same game or variations thereof on either the wii or ds. Nintendo 3ds owners, to their credit, never did this level of bellyaching. You see nintendo owners going, WTH, Mask of Miracles was a japanese launch title, what’s taking so long. We’re talking like 20 months to port over a title and what do nintendo fans say, cool, we’re getting mask of miracles.

Don’t want to be frustrated with a system during its first year, don’t buy it during the first year.

  • Preorder a game digitally?

Can’t wait to install Renegade Ops, same screen local coop games are fun and at time far between.

  • This may be a stupid question, but is Shadow of the Colossus the HD remastered edition with trophies or is the PS2 version? Thanks.

  • @25 it’s okay don’t worry the wahbulance is on the way no one is forcing you to buy digital PS3 games. The fact is the Vita has a lot of games and more coming in the near future you should know the best games didn’t come to the PS3 or PSP in the first few months either.

  • Since there was basically nothing for Vita this week, why not release Wake-Up Club? Any word on when we’re going to be getting that, besides just “Summer?”

  • @21 lol that is it I have well over 1,000

and I have been suggesting that you couple of years now but I also suggested to split it up to what type it is like a demo psn ps1 dlc ext and the ability to search

  • Why isn’t there a Black Ops DLC bundle?

  • Mr. Morgan, do you know if the Pre-Order from the Assassins Creed III is going to come out in the US PS Store?

Because I already saw that you can preorder the AC III in the European Store.

  • why is playstation lagging in bringing out games for the PS Vita…. That is straight out Fudged Up!!!! at least Put some more game lcompatible from the PSP games…

  • Man ya’ll complain wayyy too much on these great deals :/ take your a** to Microsoft with all that, geez lol

  • :( I wonder when well get singstar updates.

  • @21 & 26….i know how you feel….i have over 1500 in my download list (approx. 300 downloadable games excluding PS1 & PS2 games and many many purchased addons and whatnot). i also own around 70 physical copy games which brings me to my main GRIPE —-> WHEN ARE WE GONNA GET A PS3 WITH A BIGGER HD. 320 GB just doesn’t cut it anymore. For those of you ready to say….well you can just upgrade the HD – did you know that the tools for repairing a corrupt file system only recognizes a stock HD otherwise it will wipe it clean. i found this out the hard way on 2 separate PS3’s.

@29 Gotham City Imposters is a GREAT GAME….so don’t write it OFF until you have actually played it.

BTW….nice update….though i pretty much own everything….hence why i am not subscribed to PS+. The small storage for cloud save isn’t big enough.

  • So will it ever be possible to sort our downloaded games via alphabetical order?
I’ve been making up excuses to my 360 owner friends for far too long!

I even go so far as to delete EVERYTHING when a new game comes out and download them ALL in reverse order just so they show up in alphabetical order on my XMB.. but come on. This is a huge waste of bandwidth for both of us! It really doesn’t seem like a hard feature to add. So is there a reason this is being withheld from us?
It’s also being requested on the feature wish list, but continues to be ignored.

Some of us have hundreds of downloaded games and it’s a real bitch to sort through them.
I’m guessing Sony wants us to forget about the older games and let them get buried so we keep buying new stuff? Anyone have any ideas on this?

  • northen_cail_209

thanks for the update and it’s all good work

  • Played lots of Pac-Man DX:CE today. Wow, that game is awesome- like Pac-Man for people with ADHD. I absolutely love it. Looking forward to trying the other titles, once my internet connection speeds up!

@131 Infamous Festival of Blood wasn’t free last month, atleast in America. Instead, the entirety of Infamous 2 was free! It’s definitely one of the titles I decided to pick up during this sale.
