  • WoW great update!!

  • HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA!

    RE:ORC $50

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

    TOO FUNNY!

  • Oh yeah free PS+ avatar! That’ll keep me busy for months! Hopefully I get about 80 hours of gamplay with it!

    Pffffffft.

  • Wow, so early. Thanks, Grace. I’m going to try some demos.

  • Seriously, bring on SoundShapes already!

  • From my perspective PS+ has become increasingly disappointing.

    • We usually save the big free content updates on a monthly basis. We should have some news next week on some great new stuff coming to the instant game collection next week. Hope you like it =)

  • These updates get worse every week.

PSP games are still over priced, no PS1 or more PSP support for Vita.

Portable Ops still doesn’t work and Peace Walker on PSP is still $30 digitally! It’s a greatest hits title and only costs $14 new at retail. PSP Go users and Vita users are getting price gouged on your PSP games. This is not the way to run a digital distribution service that “competes” with retail!

  • sweet update

  • Here’s hoping for another major sale for Vita/PSP.

Sad to still see no new news on PSOne Vita support. Though I am looking forward to WizOrb being compatible on Vita. Though I have to ask if anyone has noticed how said game seems to share most of the same graphics as the GBA titles Zelda: Minish Cap/ Zelda: 4 Swords…

  • I know we had all the goodies for PS+ for this month, therefore, are we having our monthly update next week, July 31st? or do we have to wait until the 7th?? Also, I’d like to see more discounts and sales on PS3 and PSN games! Free games are cool, good discounts are cool as well! More PS2 games would be welcome too!

  • Very nice update. I’m looking forward to Puddle.

Just curious, is there any chance the PSP versions of Final Fantasy I & II will ever come out on PSN? I don’t know why North America’s PSN doesn’t have them, but they’re up on the Japanese and European PSNs.

    Thanks!

  • WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!! WHY IS RESIDENT EVIL 49.99 ON THE PSN STORE BUT YOU CAN GET IT FROM BEST BUY RIGHT NOW FOR 14.99????!!!!!!!!! WHOA!!!! WHATS GOING ON HERE????

  • @naDOOFUS:

PS+ has had some very nice bonuses and freebies the past year. Granted, the updates are inconsistant, but there are plenty of sales here and there (like last week’s excellent sale), and the free games are always welcome.

One thing you must keep in mind, though, is that not every game will be made free on PS+. There are several games that wouldn’t be made free just because of how well they keep selling (ie – PSOne Classic Final Fantasy VII is a great example of this).

  • Pretty good update! Though the pricing for Operation Racoon City is egregiously steep.

Also, the time frame “this summer” is really starting to get old for people who want PSOne Classics on Vita. Even if you need to delay things, a solid release date is significantly more reassuring than the vague, “Soon” or, “This summer”

Still, a nice store update! It’s a decent week.

  • am i missing something? was there supposed to be the gravity rush military add-on today? did it get removed at the last minute? ps blogcast (i might have not heard correctly from them) said that it would come out this tuesday.

  • I’d like a new free theme for PS+

  • @AmadaunCD:

Probably because PSOne Final Fantasy Origins is up.

Though after having tried Final Fantasy IV Complete, I would love to see those two show up on the store in their remastered glory.

  • @TrapLife724: Because Sony SUCKS royally in the digital market and things like this are why Sony’s Playstation brand would flop embarrassingly so if they went full digital.

  • No PSP price drops again this week and no further support for PS1 games or PSP games. I would once again like to state that I would love to see Portable Ops working on my Vita and the PS Store prices to (at least match if not beat) retail prices. Right now most PSP games are double retail!

  • The wikipedia page for Malicious says a Vita version is planned for Japan. Any plans for a North America Vita release?

  • If these updates come out any earlier, I’m going to start expecting them to come up on Mondays. :P

    Yay, Dyad demo.

  • @11 bb is crazy in a good way
i seen assassins creed rev and socom 4 for 9.99ea at the store

  • Hi Morgan,

Any word at all on a date for Vita Firmware 1.8? It was announced a couple weeks ago that this would be the update that brings PS1 support to the system, but we haven’t heard a word since then about it. Is it coming soon? Also, since several sites report different things about this, will the support be trickled out to titles or will all PS1 games be compatible at the time of the firmware release? I’ve got several games I’ve been holding out on playing because of waiting for this firmware!

    Thanks!

    • I don’t have any word on this, but I’m not part of the team that’s working on the firmware update. I’ll likely know when you guys know via the PS Blog =)

  • Sweet!!! Another early update and MORE AVATARS!!!

  • What about the PSN Summer Sale? Was that just a one time thing?

  • Hi Morgan,

Just wondering if the last Gravity Rush DLC is available today? I thought it was due today just from reading an earlier post. Thanks!

  • Fantastic! I loved!

  • once again an early update. hope this is the regular

  • Malicious and the Foosball looks interesting as long as there is a demo I will try it and go from there. I cant believe we have not gotten any free themes this month for Plus members its very disappointing.

Also it is disappointing to put a demo for Dyad a week after the sale so now if I get the demo and like it I will pay the full price. This problem needs to be looked into.

  • Great update and an early one too! I know you get tired of being asked this Morgan, but is there any word on Jet Set Radio HD and Frobisher Says coming out?

  • Suikoden II

  • Great update I am intrigued to try Puddle on my Vita never played it, wondering if it will be any good. Was really hoping there would be a demo for Sound Shapes I CAN NOT WAIT for that game. Plus can you please gives us an ETA on when the update for Vita to play PS1 classics on my vita getting antsy.

  • No demo for Malicious? Bah.

I guess it’ll be up to us to start watching Japanese language demos of it on YouTube to decide whether it is worth picking up before the discount ends…

  • Digitize these on the store

    -Bioshock full ps3 game
    – uncharted 3 full ps3 game
    -portal 2 full ps3 game
    -resistance 1-3 full ps3 games
    Killzone HD remake
    -killzone 2-3 full ps3 games
    -skyrim full ps3 game
    -kingdom hearts 1-2 HD collection

  • It’s good to see the Dyad demo finally available, but is the sale still going on
    For Plus members?

If not I feel that’s a tad shady. Especially considering the full game of Dyad was nothing more than the demo packaged with an unlock key. So there was no reason not to release the demo at the time of the sale

  • Looking forward to trying out Dyad and Puddle.

Morgan or Grace, by any chance do you have any information on a discount for Rayman Origins Vita, and if Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops will be playable on Vita any time soon? Thanks!

  • When are you guys going to get some 1st party avatars on the store? Capcom has like 3 billion avatars and Sony hardly has any.

Where are the God of War avatars? The Twisted Metal avatars?

and when you do add 1st part avatars, it’s always only like 2. Look at Street Fighter, there are like 300 avatars.

Come on, they are png files, you should be cashing in on that easy money.

  • See my name? Good. Where is it? Why isn’t it on PSN yet? Let’s make this happen already.

That said… wow at the ORC price. You’d have to be a fool to buy it on PSN.

Also, odd choice for the free plus avatar, of all the DW characters… why Diaochan?

Still broke from the Steam sales, so I can’t say I’m buying anything this week, but nice job on the early update… again, give Grace a raise.

  • Sound Shapes is almost here, I can taste it.

Besides that, aw I thought you guys were going to be on a roll with Vita sales blah.

  • Where is Tony Hawk’s: Pro Skater HD?

  • Aghhh. PlayStation Vita Firmware 1.8 needs to come out now! I want to play my Final Fantasy games! :)

  • Do you guys have any info regarding a demo on psn store for ragnarok odyssey or if there even will be one? Other then that the store update looks good.

  • Please put some Gravity Rush avatars up! It would be greatly appreciated!

  • Awwwwww, still no Mickey Mouse? I can’t believe I’m excited about a Mickey Mouse game, but it was pretty good on the SEGACD, and it would be nice to see the PS version finally come to America.

    • We messaged this earlier, but unfortunately, it was determined that this title can not release in NA. as it only supports PAL video output, which is incompatible with North American television sets. The team’s the discovered this send their apologies.

  • Looks like ill be letting my plus sub expire considering how lame it has gotten.

  • Buy Malicious people! It’s a good game and definitely worth the price of admission

  • I don’t have my PS3 right now, yet I want that Diochan avatar.

How do I access them on my Vita? (I mean the avatars to purchase and download from the Store, not the preset ones in Settings).

  • @tacotaskforce they already stated that it’s never coming to the US because it’s a PAL game and “would not run on NTSC systems”

  • AWWWW YEAH, MALICIOUS!

Looks like Sony does read the PSN blog. I’m sure everyone at SCEA was working around the clock for this one, but Gracie forgot to hit the upload button for several months. ;)

Anyhow with Persona 4 The Arena dropping by in early August, Atlus should really think about getting Persona 4 on PSN as another great addition to PS2 classics!
