Did you all experience Metal Gear Solid 4 back in 2008? Or maybe for some reason you missed it? The Trophy system was introduced to PS3 in the middle of 2008. However, by that time, MGS4 had already finished development and was about to launch, so we were regrettably unable to implement Trophies at launch. But, we’ve always had it on our to-do list and users have given us continuous feedback requesting Trophies over the years.
For all those who have asked “where are the Trophies?” we are very sorry for the long wait. However, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Metal Gear series, we are very pleased to announce that trophies will finally be coming to MGS4 in the beginning of August!
Furthermore, retail versions of the game in stores will be updated to offer native Trophy support out of the box.
For loyal fans and new players alike, there’s never been a better time to relive the experience of MGS4. The timeless PS3 classic is back – now with full Trophy support!!
Bronze You enjoy all the killing, that’s why. Killed many enemies in one area, and vomited. Bronze Divine Wind Caused a “divine wind” using the Tanegashima. Bronze Hands Up! Silver Ghost Photography Addict Snapped at least 5 shots of ghosts on Shadow Moses Island. Silver FaceCamo Addict Obtained 10 or more types of FaceCamo (excluding types obtained via password). Silver Can you feel my power now!!!? Took control of an enemy soldier’s body using the Mantis Doll or Sorrow Doll. Silver Are you an Otaku too? Viewed all model posters. Silver You’re pretty good. Got kissed by Ocelot during the final battle. Gold Flashback Mania Viewed all flashbacks. Gold Sounds of the Battlefield Obtained all iPod® tracks (excluding tracks obtained via password). Gold I am THE expert on weapons, equipment and cutting-edge technology. Obtained all weapons (excluding weapons obtained via password). Platinum The Legendary Hero Obtained all trophies.

Hard list. Plenty of easy ones though like the killing a bunch of people and drum can ones.
I’m pretty sure there’s suppose to be 14 more trophies or something like that. I’m guessing they’re hidden trophies that are story related. Complete Africa, South America, Eastern Europe, Shadow Moses, Outer Haven, Defeat all the bosses. I believe all there is are the Beauty and Beast unit, Vamp, the Metal Gear and Liquid Ocelot. That’s 13 right there. Or am I missing a boss or act?
There is no way I will buy this again just to get the trophies. It’s a great game, but not that great. Too little, too late. I bought a ps3 in 06, and it took over two years for Sony to finally implement trophies. By the time we got trophies I did not even care. I was too busy improving my gamer score on my 360. In the last year I have got back into collecting trophies, but it seems unfair to have to go back and pay money for games I completed and paid full price, and never got trophies for my trouble. Like Uncharted 1, and Resistance Fall of Man, And Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction . So I guess what I am saying is….. I’ll pass on these trophies.

I find it strange how people are not only excited about trophies for a game that dropped 4 years ago but for a game that people over the years have bashed and considered it a wear entry in the mgs series. anyone care to explain?

No trophies for a no kill/no alert play-through? Seriously? I remember painstakingly doing that when the game first came out, and I would definitely say that is worthy of a couple Gold trophies.
Seems odd they would not have trophies for such things, as that is a big part of what made MGS4 so fun and engaging. It’s pretty intense trying to do a no alert/no kill on the same play-through!
Same deal with the “special views” during some FMV scenes (ie, when Snake drops his cigarette to look up Naomi’s dress). There should definitely be a trophy for that kind of stuff!

@206 Who said it was weak entry? I had incredibly high expectations and was completely surprised at how much they were exceded. I was late to the party though. I didn’t get a PS3 until 2 years ago. I think it’s one of the best PS3 games out there.

I’ve read that some of the hidden trophies are totally not story-related and shouldn’t be hidden in the first place. If that’s true, then I ask why did you hide them? It’s the digital age – everybody is going to check this stuff online if it’s not story-related so why bother with hiding them? It doesn’t even make sense to have people BLINDLY look for ways to earn trophies because it’s more like luck than skill. Seriously, stop hiding non-story trophies because it’s just retarded.
I kept my game having been playing other titles. Now that the trophies are here, I can wait to restart as I didn’t get far into the story. Very tough list. Many of us can have a great KD ratio or even some amazing Head Shot accuracy but stealth based challenges are very difficult for me. Stealth speed run = Epic challenge, IMO.

Ok… what’s wrong with most of you? Asking when it is… have you even TRIED putting in the disc yet? Or did that “update” not light any bulbs for ya lol? Worst… what’s with everyone complaing about the list of trophies? Most trophies ARE to do crazy stuff you’d never do normally. And… I know the PS3 trophy system is SO NEW and all… but the progress trophies, to avoid spoilers, have always been HIDDEN… but you DID know that, right?
I see that my criticism of the hidden non-story trophies was deleted by the mod. Too bad, but maybe this will go through.
It really doesn’t make sense to have them, especially that one of them was revealed here as a normal trophy (!!!?). It seems that somebody at Koji Pro was just randomly hiding some trophies to meet some kind of quota.
Game developers, please stop using hidden trophies for non-story challenges.

I got the idea, that some people thinks this will be easy, well check this out :
1) check this GOLD trophy “Sounds of the Battlefield”.
2) check out the description;” Obtained all iPod® tracks (excluding tracks obtained via password).”
3) check out the big boss emblem ” Successfully complete the game on The Boss Extreme, using no continues, getting no Alert Phases, killing no enemies, using no Rations/Regain/Noodles, the stealth camo, or the Bandana, and have a completion time of five hours or less. ”
4) check out the rewards “For acquiring this Emblem you are also rewarded the Patriot, the Big Boss FaceCamo, and the Big Boss iPod Song.”
5) pick up your jaw and think again if this would be easy.

34 trophies. Now I can finally go out and beat the game for the first time! Man it was so much fun. I’m definitely picking up the collection soon because my friend wanted me to play Peace Walker with him.
I too, vote for MGO2 to be up on the PlayStation store like Killzone 3 MP. I feel like I missed out on a big thing and it not being there seems like an option is lost.
Woah. I’m going through the options and it says that you can listen to Codecs via your Microphone? That would be so cool! Cept I have the Sony headset so both my ears are covered heh heh darn.
