  • PSN games that are junk better not be for next week. Nobody wants small games, or games ripped up into parts. This week we got 2 parts of a 5 PART GAME. So in reality, we just got 30% of a game. Give us realistic offers. You promised GOOD content, i was lied to. I got cheap content. Most of it underrated bullcrap. Ill only renew next month IF we get AAA quality titles for plus next month, like GTA Episodes from liberty city and dead space 2 for example.

  • pretty aggravated about the ps+ free games this month my opinion the last ones werent that great and now it two of the same game and a game i own the full pass on if anything make the pass free after their all dont not 2 just to get ppl hooked so they buy the others plus those two episodes arent even half of a game combined. i feel this was just an eaisy way to put two games for free with out it costing sony that much money. very weak and doesnt make me want to renew my subscription.

on the note of uncharted update whats up with the tournament coupons? like how do they work and how many to enter a tournament 10? if so how many matches are there in the tournament?

ALSO wheres the facebook app for the playstation???? i dont get it the vita has it the xbox has it why not on the ps? sry but a few of the apps in my opinion blow and or kinda the same why havent you guys added a fb app?

  • Thank for the reply Mr. Haro. Whomp, whomp indeed. Haha.

    Maybe next week ;)

  • I right with ya guys on not renewing plus. I have it on my main psn account that I can’t COMMENT on here with and yet have to make bogus accounts to be able to comment and after being IGNORED on a weekly basis I will not support the plus no more after it ends in 2 months. This is sad and the digital games that should be on psn and is in other countries and not here is bull. I have only needed plus for my :LOCKED SAVE DATA but you know what. I’d rather not pay 17.99 or 50 bucks than pay it just for cloud storage. We should have CLOUD STORAGE for free as a standard anyways I mean what the heck sony. Plus has just ripped me off in general cause 80% of the free games they have released since day 1 to now I had already bought before they were given out for free so in all I benefit NOTHING from the service cause I payed for the games anyways and then payed for the service to 80% of the time get nothing in return since I bought early. All I get is cloud storage and to prevent needing that I will no longer buy locked save data games.

  • Correction, Miss Kristine Steimer. I apologize. Clearly I did a poor job noticing who responded to my post.

  • Well said S_L_I_C_K-T.

    I totally agree!

  • “EU and NA are following a bit of a different strategy to see which games make the biggest impact in Plus. There are several factors to consider, however, please note that a certain number of PS3 Full Games free in Plus was never promised; they just comprised the majority of the free game collection in Plus when we kicked off the Instant Game Collection. But we have our ears to the ground for what folks are looking for in Plus , so by all means keep the feedback coming! It takes time to absorb, but it counts.”

You can tell your bosses your strategy isn’t working because my plus subscription ends this month and I won’t be renewing it. As far I’m concerned you guys deceived people by making us believe you would be adding PS3 full gamesto the Instant Collection.

    • That’s good feedback, and should you decide to leave Plus, it won’t be something we’ll be taking lightly as our goal is to make Plus members feel like it’s the best deal in gaming. And to be clear, there is no statement that says we are not adding PS3 Full Games to Plus in the near future; simply EU has a different approach they’re following which allows them to deliver more PS3 Full Games at this time.

  • Can someone out there let me know of a Portable harddrive as in those usb external hard drives can be used to back up my locked save data so that if my ps3 hits the crapper I can restore that locked save data at the event of a harddrive failure? If I can backup locked save data that way and not need the cloud storage then I will just buy a usb hard drive and let plus expire in 2 months and say BYE BYE plus on my main account. Plus is only needed for cloud storage for me and if I have a way around cloud storage then I don’t need the service then.

  • Does anybody know when the FIFA 13 demo comes out? I heard that it comes out next week or in middle of September. Can somebody please help me!

  • Where is Grand Theft Auto 3?

  • Nothing for me this week, it seems. Then again, we got the Sonic Avvys last week. I AM enjoying the early update time in general, though, so keep that up!

  • @ Ultralalo

I’m telling ya man its what Sony is good for at the psn team. They lie and deceive us 24/7 man. Lie after another weekly. They constantly say a game is coming and last minute they change it and say oops didnlt make it we are sorry. They aren’t sorry it was their job to deceive us in the first place. At this point in the stage of being with sony since May 2007 and how much I have been ripped off by the sony psn team I think paying for Xbox live and getting top notch service is worth it as I think about it now. I have been anti 360 after I left them in may 2007 and went ps3 but I may buy a 360 and start seeing what they are doing now and how their service is. I hear they get stuff way before ps3 does anyways and no last minute changes and demo’s on everything on live. Not the way psn does it.

    • Hey, I get that you’re upset, but calling us liars isn’t very nice. We don’t “constantly” say games are coming and then change it. While that has happened a couple times recently, unfortunately we don’t have much control over that. Things fail QA and miss their dates. We hate that just as much as you do.

  • To me now as I think about it and how I always put down 360 for making people pay to game online but when you think about it and its only 10 bucks more a year than plus and plus is a rip off and 360 has voice messages and that cross game chat that I never used when I had a 360 but I heard its fun and works good then I need to just put my guard down and slap 300 bucks on a 360 next month and test its new features out. Its been 5 years since I last owned a 360 and I think the time is finally now since we are so disrespected on the blog weekly with lies and deceit on a regular basis. I’ll still keep my ps3 of course cause I have invested almost 2,000 dollars in digital content on psn but I won’t be no more after next month. 360 here I come. You better not let me down or I will return you lol.

  • As someone who’s a big RPG fan and wishes that the PSN had more of that, thanks for putting up Mk2.

50$ isn’t cheap, but considering how much these kinds of games go for on websites when the stock runs low, a year from now a disc version (new) might be over 100$ (like a lot of copies of the first game when I Iook for it).

Plus a company like NISA doesn’t have the big sales numbers that others have (CoD franchise for example), and even so they usually charge 50 instead of 60 for a brand new game, so personally I approve the price until it becomes a few months older at least. I always buy NISA games new/full price/love to support them.

Thanks for yet another early update team!

  • So you go from the promise of “3 games rotated in and out monthly” to “3 games taken out monthly, the other games rotated in whenever we feel like it.” I’m sorry, but this is not the subscription I purchased. And to no one’s surprise, the game that is offered is yet another cheap PSN title. You can claim all you want that “Full PS3 titles weren’t promised,” yet you clearly used the bait-and-switch technique by announcing a revamp of PlayStation Plus, offering an array of quality titles, in the ploy to grab as many PS+ subscriptions as possible.. then start releasing the cheap titles no one really cares about. Fine. Then I will no longer subscribe to PS+.

  • Does anybody know anything about Hitman Blood Money being realesed on PSN?

  • @109 Any usb Hd with enough space will do, I have a little 500gb WD passport backing up my Ps3.

  • Any news on Peace Walker price drop or Portable Ops working on Vita?

  • Thanks for the update Morgan. You and the team are doing a great job, keep it up! =)

  • Guess they haven’t been able to work out a deal on GTA3’s music yet either.

  • Oh and before certain people on here say I’m just a 360 troll spamming the blog I AM NOT. The blog team banned my main account I guess its banned cause I can never comment on here with my main plus paying account SLICK _ T. The slick and the underscore and T is all combined. For a odd reason when I put my psn name all together the post never will post, so I have to space it apart to get it to go through in a comment on here. Even the mention of my main account is blocked lol. They hate when you vent the truth on here and if you cuss you will be banned. So my advise don’ cuss a lot in your rant lol. If you think I’m a troll and don;t own a ps3 then take a glance at my main psn account then and say I’m a troll. I own all sony stuff and like I said before I am thinking about buying a 360 next month. The red ring of death seems fixed now so I may chance it. Cause sony is pissing me off more and more every week that goes by.

  • Hey Morgan, why are Real Steel and Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max (PSP) still listed in the discounts section of the PS Store when the prices are their normal prices? They’ve been there for weeks since the big sales that those two games were a part of, but now they’re still there like the PS Store team keeps forgetting to remove them from that section of the store.

  • “The brand new UNCHARTED 3: Among Thieves multiplayer Tournament System”

    Uncharted 3: Among Thieves eh?

  • Still waiting on HBOGO.

  • Sorry for talking too much on here but I have a question for my fellow ps3 gamers. I just bought a wd scorpio blue 1 TB 5400 rpm harddrive for my ps3 and got it all installed and it took me 3 days to download all my digital games that are well over 100 full games and I have 500 gb left lol. Anyways, is their issues with this hard drive? It stalls every once in a while like when I compose a message to mail a friend it stalls for like a second and a half then lets me type and when I send it out its a 50/50 chance it will stall a second before it sends it out. It never acted like this on my 320 gig hard drive my move slim bundle ps3 had in it as standard. But now I’m getting stalling on the interface when scrolling around. Its like random 1 second stalls and it releases itself. I already put the ps3 in safety mode and restored the file system and rebuilt the data base and its still doing the stalling. Is this how western digital 1 tb hard drives acts or is this a bad hard drive. I ordered it bran new from best buy 3 days ago.

  • It’s cool we get a Discount on Two World 2, GOTY edtion, but why not adding the DLC seperately for those that already bought the game ? Yes i know if i buy it for 10$ it cost less then the 30$ DLC but, it still feel odd to me to buy a game I already own. :(

Not related to today’s update but i’ll hope we’ll get PSX Discount for Vita Ps1 support launch :)

  • Downloading Sound Shapes and will be pre-ordering Papo & Yo.

  • A previous PR announcement had said the Wake-Up Club was coming out in NA during Summer. There’s only about a month of Summer left so hopefully it will be releasing soon. It can’t be that hard to localize an alarm clock application…

  • Pre-Ordering should allow you to…

    A. Download the full game beforehand but not play it till the update or
    B. Download the game at midnight

These probably won’t happen but it will make pre-ordering actually worth more than just a theme. =/

Also, it’s been stated before…you guys need to set a concrete pattern to what PlayStation Plus offers because ever since the E3 2012 update, we’ve been left guessing to what the heck we’re going to get each update. Before the E3 update, I felt that the PlayStation Plus updates were much more organized.

BTW if you’re reading this Kristine Steimer, I love your avatar!

    • I am reading this! Thanks :)

And we are looking into making pre-orders more appealing, so that’s good feedback.

  • thanks, can’t wait for counter strike GO, its the only game thatll bring me back playing the ps3! hope many people support valve so they can release more games through here! they dont charge dlc or anything unlike almost any other game and not only theyre game’s are excellent but they are very cheap.

  • Ummm…. Is there a standalone on Payday for $4.99? I realize it’s a bundle, but I can get the game elsewhere for that price, which i almost did, not now though. It seems like your fleecing console owners w these prices. O well, I guess I’ll *tune in next week (again)

  • Very happy to see the Walking Dead episodes coming to Plus today! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

If the other three episodes aren’t also offered free down the road, I really hope we see some kind of discounted bundle deal for them.

  • Sheesh, everyone’s ready for a beheading here!

While I agree with the idea of PS Plus being a bit weak since E3 (free games have been lots of multi-platform games that I got from the Steam sale, or already had on another platform) I don’t feel completely gypped because there are still sales on some games that I was going to buy regardless of a sale or not.

It isn’t Sony’s responsibility to give us free game after free game – but free games are definitely welcome. I see Plus like I see GS’s PowerUp Rewards program. With the amount of games I buy, I definitely save money when Plus discounts touch those games. Now that Sony has willingly offered free games as a definite part of the Plus program, the selection hasn’t quite been celebrating the “Sony-ness” of Sony-exclusive games, just offering a lot of multi-platform games.

  • Full PS3 games would be nice as well – especially those older gems which studios don’t make much money on. Resistance 1, maybe? Hot Shots Golf for PS3? Not sure how those sell on PSN, but new copies aren’t floating in stores anymore, so only retail stores are cashing in. Sure, people may have played these games before, but it gives Plus newcomers a chance to catch up on what was around before they grabbed a PS3.

I’ll agree that it needs to affect more of the PS market overall as well – lately it’s just been PSN games and barely any Vita, PSP, or Full PS3 games affected. Plus needs to encourage people to play on ALL of Sony’s products, not just on the PS3. That’s why it’s PS Plus, and not PS3 Plus. :)

I still think you guys are doing a great job, but you could make it sweeter, and really hook people!

  • what a boring update

  • No Killzone, GTA 3, Mickey Mania, PS1 support for Vita, increased PSP support for Vita, increased Minis support for Vita, or reduced prices for PSP games, but hey now I can buy an overpriced digital version of PS3 games that are still readily available as a physical copy, so that means I should be happy, right?

  • “That’s good feedback, and should you decide to leave Plus, it won’t be something we’ll be taking lightly as our goal is to make Plus members feel like it’s the best deal in gaming. And to be clear, there is no statement that says we are not adding PS3 Full Games to Plus in the near future; simply EU has a different approach they’re following which allows them to deliver more PS3 Full Games at this time.”

So… Why the US Sony isn’t following the EU approach? It’s working for them… I gave up to buy Dead Space 2 because of what I saw last week. We paid the same service but they have a big advantage upon us.

  • does the two worlds 2 velvet GOTY edition come with only dlc cause 4.1 gig seems pretty small for a GOTY

  • Are there any plans on adding the ability to purchase PSN Avatars from the PS Vita store?

With my PS3 dead its kinda of a bummer not being able to buy new Avatars.

  • Oh and to not seem 5 year old on my part I do understand things take time to get a license of approval before they can post the content on psn its not all done in a day so I understand that. What I’m getting mad about is I spend a lot of money on psn and have been for 5 years. Look up my psn account slick _ t. I have spent near 2,000 on that account alone. I have two main accounts for buying stuff and the other account is near 600 bucks spent as well. My wife and I both had pitched in for years buying movies off psn and when I changed my harddrive 3 days ago all the 20 movies we bought and back up on a flash drive and stored in the past and worked fine on my original hard drive no longer worked on my new hard drive and it wants us to renew the license on all 20 of them movies and I take that meaning re buy them. That’s near 400 bucks in movies on psn wasted. Its things like that along that make me rage. I love sony in general and its the only gaming company and company in general for electronics i prefer and own countless stuff from but man I am growing a very short fuse of anger of what plus has also done to me in the rip off already bought the gams department to. You must understand why I’m raged today.

  • Since everyone else is sounding off, I guess I should too. I’d be extremely disappointed if Darksiders or Deus Ex: Human Revolution came to US PS+ just because people whined and complained about EU getting it. I just bought Darksiders when you had it on sale for $10 earlier this year, and only finished getting the platinum on Deus Ex about a month ago. And I’m not a fan of horror or racing games, so Dead Space 2 or any Motorstorm would just be a waste. People should be asking for better games, not “Oh they got it, we want it too!”

Personally, I’m extremely happy with PS+ because I realize it’s more than just free games. I really love the auto-update for patches and trophies and the cloud save feature. You could get rid of free content and cut off all these whiners and I’d be perfectly happy to keep paying $50/year just for those features. I prefer the discounts. Good discounts on games I want, that I get to keep whether I stay subbed or not. I really feel you guys are catering waaay~ too much to the “gimme, gimme” crowd rather than your core PS+ audience that subbed up long before the IGC debuted at E3 this year.

Just grabbing Sound Shapes this week, and a pre-order for Papo & Yo. Good times.

  • Guys stop complaining about EU getting better games cause sometimes US get better games too and i dont see EU players complain when that happen,so its win win for both.

  • @ sk8allday25

Cool psn name by the way lol…. anyways I wish they would just combine psn plus together for all regions and just give us all the same content around the globe and that way no one could ever complain who is getting what and when.

  • @ guitarded77 “Wolfpack DLC should be free… I paid $20 for Payday on release day and early adopters get screwed again. So people who buy the game late get DLC and game for $20?!?!?! Why not give the DLC to early adopters for FREE… this is total _____ the way you screw your loyal customers.”

I’m sorry, but buying a game when it first releases doesn’t make you an “early adopter”. You purchased the software, that made you a customer. You had access to it about 10 months before current purchasers get it at a discount. That is common practice in retail anywhere you look, including the sales we see on the PS Store. The only way to not “screw over early adopters” like you would be to never have sales on anything, ever. I don’t think that would please anyone. Just buy the DLC if you want it, or move on. Whining that you paid more for earlier access is not the most fullproof argument.

  • Cool update, very good for psn plus user. I hope that the rest of episodes from the walking dead saga will also be aveliable later on, otherwise this free games are just a excuse for people to get the service.

  • But its just gaming its life or death its just I invest a lot of my hard earned money into my gaming hobby and I love this gaming hobby, my kids do and my wife does as well but my wife and I are constantly shaking our heads weekly at the money I have invested and most the time everyone on these blogs are ignored of what we are telling you we would like to have or like to have changed so the service of plus is more fair and better. Its seems like its going backwards in benefits and features. I am defending your company against my wife daily. She is constantly saying you guys are delaystation 3 and that I need to sell my PS3 and take my loss and get a 360 and tell her she is a crazy lady and dumb lol and no I am not going to sale my ps3 ever lol. No matter how mad I can and will get at you guys I love my ps3 and wouldn’t know what to do entertainment wise without it but guys you really need to listen to the positive and really bad negative feedback from us way more. We are telling you what we want and want to buy and how to improve plus and so forth and its like we standing in a field yelling to the trees. Please LISTEN!

  • Meant to say its NOT life or death in my comment above. Whoops for the typo lol

  • since we’re on the subject of preordering… what ever happened to that? I remember before Sorcery was launched it was announced that it was gonna be the first of some new preorder thing Sony was starting for digital games (not psn play) yet i dont recall being able to preorder sorcery on the ps store and i still dont see any “new preorders” other than stuff on play.. we shouldnt have to wait a year just for 4 select games to be preorders, ALL games shouldnt be able to be preordered throughout the entire year..

that way I can spend my money on that stuff now instead of being tempted to buy something else while waiting for the games i actually WANT to come out.

  • So sad today in my b-day I turned 26th and I have Plus, now I wasn’t looking for list of free games like others but that would be nice, I still got over 40 games to play from downloading. However I was hoping for awesome store update that would get me to want to buy more games as a gift to myself.

What hit the store this week I could careless about as it means nothing to me, only thing to peak my interest a little was the 2x Walking Dead love the show, but I rather wait for when they release it as a whole game like how Back to the future did, so when I unlock all trophies for it I get a nice Plat trophy and not just 4-5 games that say 100%. I learned that the hard way with the BTTF game, but didn’t feel like replaying the whole game and buying the full game just to redo it all for a Plat.

Also about EU PS Plus I don’t really care for games they got, expect they have Darksiders and I would love that to hit Plus – I surprise we have not gotten it with Darksiders II coming out I believe next week.

  • Paying for multiplayer tickets? Season pass? Crap like this is making me lose interest in gaming.
