  • people are feisty today!! anyways.. you guys are champs for responding courteously. now. back to playing sound shapes!

  • Hey, have you guys considered sending out a warning email when our PS+ Subscriptions are about to renew? That would have been really helpful a few weeks ago when I didn’t know it was going to happen until it already had happened…

  • I logged in just for that…

    Shut up S_L_I_C_K-T…

  • Happy PS+ user here.

I’m only on my 5th month and I’ve already gained over $70 worth of PS+ benefits (discounts and free games), and that’s not counting all the free games that I haven’t had the chance (or the intention) to play. So, personally, my $50 have been a great investment. One that I definitely would repeat next year.

Too bad for the people that feel ripped off by PS+, but to be honest, I simply cannot share their dissapointment.

  • What happened to pulse? It’s been over a month, did it get cancelled or is it on hiatus?

  • Gonna get KOF XIII. That and the two free games, the best this week.

  • First of all I must say that Sound Shapes is amazing. I strongly recommend it.

I do like PS Plus but I am also disappointed that we did not receive any games like they did in Europe. I don’t have Dead Space 2, Outland, and Darksiders and I would like to play them. I’m disappointed that we have just been receiving short PSN games that are good but don’t keep me entertained for long.

  • I’m still hoping a sale on the Castlevania:LoS DLC will be coming (like the EU store got). Any chance of that in the near future?

  • I have zero interest in playing an extended demo cough*The Walking Dead*cough and hearing that the next plus update is two more PSN games is very disappointing.

  • Seems like guys keep putting up stuff on the instant game collection that I bought already, (sarcasm alert) this sure feels like I’m being greatly rewarded for being a loyal customer and purchasing my games. I’ll NEVER buy another game unless it has a 50% discount or is free. Feels like I’m constantly being ripped off month after month, wish there was a way to get some sought of store credit for the ps+ instant game collection games I already bought. Thanks for having to wait another week for ps+ games btw, even after we missed the new month by ONE day last week we still have to wait another week, great job team…great job!!!

  • Can we please get some more discounts, PS+ giveaways, and sales for add-on content for full games?

Every now and then we seem to get some random publisher discount, like the WWE sale or discounts on NFS and CoD packs, but we never get any major add-on sales. We get PSN Play, Spring Fever, 12 for ’12 sales, but they are all for PSN games. We never get anything like that for add-ons. And we never get addition PS+ discounts or freebies.

I even signed up for Plus in month one because add-ons were an advertised feature and the Warhawk map packs were offered that month (even though I already owned them). Not much ever came of that, much to my disappointment.

I’ve got tons of games I would buy DLC for… New Vegas, Killzone 3, Killzone 2 even! Deus Ex, LA Noire, Dead Space 2, Arkham City. Heck, for the past few weeks, I’ve asked a few for a sale on MotorStorm: Pacific Rift’s DLC so I could play it online before the servers go offline in October. The two expansions still cost $20! That’s ridiculous. Any full MotorStorm game can be found for less than that!

Give us some DLC sales. Give some away to PS+ subscribers.

  • @S_L_I_C_K–T ya thanks lol.I agree,if they had global psn things would of been better and we would all have the same content but i guess sony like to keep things seperated.

I have no complaints at all about psplus sometimes we get good games and sometimes we don´t but most of the time im happy with what we get,the service is totally worth it in my opinion and i think they are trying to make it better,i do complain about psn thou, how we can´t change our username, country and how a lot of the ideas in the blog.share dont get implemented into the service.oh well im happy with my ps3 thou and i wouldnt change it for any other console.

  • great update :D but i think you guys should really try throwing in some full free games for all gamers, like some more racing and fps and maybe some more rpgs. like maybe a need for speed like most wanted saying the new one is coming out in october and maybe even cod 4, and something like oblivion. idk just as an example of a mixture for a variety of gamers…. but still great update for now, im getting my hands on sound shapes for ps3 then throwing a copy on my vita XD

  • King of Fighters XIII now has Digital Download… I already got the DISK version! Arrgg!

OK here is what Game Companies need to do. When they Sell us a NEW DISK based game NEW… They Should include a Redeem Code then for a Digital Copy as well For those who bought the Disk NEW! Now that would be great!

At times i don’t play some games as there on Disk and i have to take out so and so disk first and get the other disk out just to play it. So most of the time i don’t even bother to play them because putting and taking disk’s out all the time is a pain. So if they included a Digital Copy when we Buy these NEW… Then it would save time and also get more players to play there games. I know it would work well for me.

And i’d have more fun playing there games by Digital Copy at the time and not have to put disk in and out etc all the time. This be for NEW Disk games only. So Used Version would not get this.

Plus it be an added Bonus for the Game fans if they did this also.

Ok Game Companies make it Happen… U Know we want em’

  • wheres my reply?

  • @142 ya thanks lol.I agree,if they had global psn things would of been better and we would all have the same content but i guess sony like to keep things seperated.

  • (to my comment above) plus if the more games that people really like or love at that matter maybe more people will get PS+ Subscriptions.

*DSC-Tekken* I love that idea but the only thing stopping them from doing that is that once you bought the game and you use your code for the digital copy, instead of using the disc, you can almost make your money back from selling the game, if you wanted to.

  • OMG Metal gear HD collection coming to psn store!! i been asking for this for the past few weeks and its coming holy cow.

  • Please add the option to disable trophy notifications.

  • @167 why would u want to disable trophy notification lol.

  • @142, 164 That would only escalate the whining and complaining.

@162, 165 Not unless you register the game (on-disc AND digital) to your account. That way, nobody else would be able to play it. (The hash code or whatever would already be associated with someone else’s account. And the user would have to remain online to play.)

  • It would be awesome if you could put the original MGS on the Vita.

  • Hey Morgan,
Any chance Madden 13 will be on the psn store like ncaa13 was? Will Tebow be in the add ons for ncaa soon? do we have a demo coming soon?

  • This update was quite weak. I really hope you guys deliver on the content that’s supposed to be hitting PS+ next week. I just convinced my friend to get a PS3 when I got my new one and since I already had PLUS I gave him my one month free pass that came with my bundle. I raved about how good the service was and how we’d be getting some good new games this week (I assumed based on the EU store.) But i feel burned, and like I lied to my friend. I’m pretty disappointed with PSN this summer.

  • I’m beginning to hate PSN+ and I just got it. I should’ve simply got an european account to enjoy all the AWESOME content that they are getting. You mean to say that they get a bunch of awesome PS3 titles and now we’re getting two WD episodes and two crappy psn games? I dont mean to be rude, but just CONTRAST with the EU Store: we’re being left out and we do not appreciate it, Sony.

Step up or prepare for us to abandon ship, one user at a time.

  • @ 53, Slickety, I know we’re not supposed to feed trolls, but I went home @ lunchtime to check for you. NASCAR 2011 is an Xbox game, but the only digital content is 1 DLC. However, they do have a “NASCAR uNleashed” game for $30 as a digital download. So I guess you have to go on the Xblog & rail about them not having your game either.

  • @Kristine Steimer: Yay, welcome, new girl. Finally, something to break up this sausage fest. I hope they have you on the blog cast soon, since the 4 amigos apparently don’t know any women in gaming. Except Kellee Santiago, twice.

  • Do you think you would have had nearly as many subscriptions for Plus if you told people that it would take this long for full games to be rotated? I don’t think so. I’d bet that you’ll see a huge drop of in active members after about 90 days from E3.Whats worse is that you’re admitted that you’re testing to see if you need to rotate them that much by letting EU get all the full games and we get none. The response from the EU community is so much more positive than ours. I was worried that the beta got pushed back so that the new games wouldn’t seem so bad, and I hate that I was correct. What makes this all worse though is how stingy you are with info. I suppose that’s what you do when you don’t have any good info to give. I don’t expect a response but just realize that you have a lot of disappointed people who are about to not be subscribers soon.

  • Thank you guys I got my Sound Shapes, hoping for great freebies on PS+ next week

  • Curse your early updates!!

I know ironic right? We usually complain about late updates, but today’s early update screwed me. I found out yesterday that both R-types and R-type Delta for PS1 would be removed from the store with today’s update. I had intended to buy it before I left for work this morning, but I was called in three hours early for an emergency. I rushed home at the end of my shift only to find I was too late. If the PlayStation Store was easily accessible on a web browser, I could have just purchased it from work. Now, I’m left disappointed and sad…sniff.

  • If I buy the Vita version first do I still get the PS3 version?

  • Can’t wait to download The Walking Dead, it is disappointing that it is not available for the PS VITA though.

  • Love P3 & P4 and I’m glad both are here!

My only question, are the voice actors the same? I would also like to know if the voice actors for P4: The Golden are the same, since I hear it will include additional voice.

I am surprised there are so many microtransactions for the game, but at least it’s just pallet swaps.
Well, except for the glasses. IT IS NOT COOL I HAVE TO BUY GLASSES FOR P4 CHARACTERS! /endrant

  • Five star update for me, just for Sound Shapes alone.

  • Weak update. What’s going on with Vita? What happened to Zen Pinball 2 for Vita?

  • Keep the free full games coming to PS Plus! Gaikai demos…

  • Saw the good reviews for Sound Shapes. I would love to try it out and see if it is my kind of game. Any chance at a demo being released will it is still on sale for Plus members ?

  • I’m usually the one telling people to be a little more grateful for what you give us, but wasn’t Walking Dead 1 and 2 already free as of last week? So we’re not actually getting anything new this week then. We are waiting for next week.

It just seems odd to me to announce Walking Dead like it’s something new, when it has already been available to plus members for the last full week.

  • There seems to be some confusion of which games are leaving plus next week. Here is states that

Sideways New York and Choplifter HD are leaving but on the playstation store it says that Just cause 2 and Lora croft are leaving. Which are leaving ? Or are all 4 games leaving???

  • Oh Yeah and I just finished Episode 1 of The Walking dead and really i am impressed its way better than the game back to the future. And tomorrow I will beat episode 2. I might end up buying the rest of the 3 episodes if episode 2 finishes on an interesting note.

    • oh it definitely does

    • sorry about the mixup there were some switch ups. so Just Cause 2 and Lara Croft Guardian of Light are the games that are in fact leaving Plus this week. Sideways NY and Choplifter HD will continue to stay. Sorry for the confusion and thank you for bringing this to my attention!

  • @189 Walking dead was announced last week but was stated that it would not be available until this week.

  • Why does the in store expiring soon for plus say Just Cause 2 and Lora Craft and the Guardian of Light r the 1 expiring n not Choplifter HD and Sideways New York? Are we getting a full ps3 games and a psn game next week since the store say we are lossing those n not what you said?

  • oh yeah Papo & Yo Pre Order :)
BTW #50 You wasted $$$ on a ps3 if your only gonna buy digital games XD

  • dam saab01 you beat me to it owell it least he is looking n to it hope we get the full psn game and psn game instead of two psn games

  • I don’t usually reply to blog posts as I’ve always felt either happy or barely satisfied with updates. This update actually made me think of not renewing plus anymore (expires in a month and a half). I hope next week’s update makes up for this train wreck.

  • I don’t see how anyone could be disappointed with PS+ for the price of 1 game you get a years worth of free content. I do agree that EU PS+ got some good games(Deus Ex being the definitive GotY for 2011/2012) but I can’t argue with Sony on that. The mere fact that the discounts pay for PS+ by themselves I have no room to complain about the free full games. If I wanted to play DE:HR I would have bought it when it came out.

One issue I do have is pricing. I understand that PSN and Steam are two different services and thus have two different sales. But the 11 days of Steam sales were 1000 time better than either XBLA’s or PSN’s sumer sales. On top of that, Payday is on sale today for both PSN and Steam. PSN price is 31% off(13.99) where as Steam has it for 75% off(4.99). This isn’t the first time this has happened and I’m sure it’s not the last. As I stated earlier, I understand they are two different services and I have no idea how sales are determined, but Steam typically is more appealing.

  • i meant full ps3 game n psn game my bad been drinking a little

  • Hi Morgan, I would like to put my two cents in and go on record saying that EU ps plus sounds much better than what we are getting here in NA. For me and most of the other plus subscribers here in NA…. We don’t care about the small psn titles. To be frank if it does not have a platinum trophy it automatically says to me its probably a crappy game. I would be happy to only get ps3 full games. Even if that meant only getting one free game a month. One AAA title a month…. If the rest of you agree you all should be voicing the same to Sony…
So if you would be so kind to report this to the rest of the team Morgan it would be appreciated.
By the way I must say you guys have done an excellent job getting the store updates out earlier. :)

  • Another area where Steam excels is patches. Awesomenauts is already a patch ahead of the console versions and will have a new character next week. It will be months before PSN sees the patches. My Counter-Strike GO purchase will go to Steam based on this fact alone. I was all for the cross play between PC and PS3 and the mouse/keyboard support made the PS3 a clear choice. But the lack of updates on a competitive game kinda ruin it for me.

  • As an active gamer who plays a lot of games, spends a lot of money on the PS Store and is a PS+ member, I am seeing less and less benefits to this service. When I first signed up, I would see some free PSN games, some free PS1 games, some free minis, free avatars, free themes, and lots and lots of discounts (the best part IMO).

At E3 we got 12 free games. But what they didn’t tell us was that is was in place of all of the other benefits that we were accustomed to. Free themes and avatars have dropped to nearly 0, when they used to be plentiful. The rotation of games has been fairly useless for very active gamers. The large number of discounts has dried up to the occasional discount on a new release, even then it’s a fairly small discount. Not to mention the EU arm of PS+ is kicking the absolute snot out of the North American version.

PS+ should always, always offer a wide array of discounts on lots of titles (isn’t getting us to spend more money the point), at least 1 free PSOne Classic a month (and not another old sports game)and at least 1 mini free a month.

Basically, this “new approach” to PS+ is a dud. If my subscription ended today, I would absolutely not renew.
