Dust 514
Closed Beta Access and 50% off Mercenary Pack Add-On
Remember that Beta I talked about earlier? I know, it was a bit in the making but we’re happy to welcome our friends from the Dust 514 team into Plus with exclusive access for the closed beta. Dust 514 is the free to play first person shooter that may change the face of how we battle online in games. Help test the first live direct connection to the extremely popular EVE Online MMO as players on the main server in DUST 514 and EVE Online can chat in real time and send in-game mail between games. It’s a first in gaming, it’s free to play when it releases later this fall, and exclusive access is coming to Plus members on 8/21. You’ll have until September 4th to jump in the Beta. I would like to add my opinion about the games lineup in NA vs EU. I’m not one to complain about receiving virtually free content and I don’t want this to be taken as such but I am confused. How can PlayStation here in US think that a fair amount of its Plus subscribers are not going to start feeling a bit let down when they look at what the SCEE Plus members seem to be getting each month.
I actually burst out a cheer and put my fist up when Sony announced Red Dead Redemption for September. Then I realized suddenly it would not likely be in my region. I honestly did not give much thought to the games EU was getting before because I just figured those games would eventually roll into US Plus months.
PlayStation Plus is awesome. Best 50 game bucks I have ever invested in. I just want you guys to know that we want to continue to feel pumped up and excited about the service and PlayStation. I surely would think you guys heading up SCEA Plus want us pumped about it also.
At least I can rest in solace that you guys can’t put The Baconing in rotation twice over, so there will hopefully be something else new in the new IGC update. Unless you decide to make the one title from this year’s PLAY free, but that’s just me being cynical.
Anyway, what I’d like to see from Plus are more discounts. I see that you’ve got Natsume stuff in the pipe (my friend’s a fiend for “Harveest Myoon”), but how about you coordinate add-on discounts for the IGC titles? Give some incentive to pick up the little doodads for our freebie games, eh (especially if, like me, the titles sit in your embarrassing backlog more than anything else)?
Finally, coordinate some way to allow us to fully purchase our free titles before our subscription ends. For instance, Strangegirl (minis) is half off right now, but I already have it from the late and great Plus format.
@449 – I’m in practically the opposite boat as you. Bring on the platformers! I only lament when an interesting game concept is in the first-person view behind a gun (though I’m trying to adjust).
Final thing I’d like to say: Please bring back the premium-theme-a-week thing. I don’t even care what it is (though I doubt you’d be brazen to add any of those tacky “babe” ones); it was just nice to have a new flavor every Tuesday.
I am not much into zombie games, however I fully understand the selection the Walking Dead, really done well game, thanks Sony for waking me up to a new genre of game

All time only bad news from us psn+. No any new 3D games, no new platinums, only scrollers. It’s very good that I didn’t buy any subscription for plus.
I think if the game offered to the subscriber already been purchased by the subscriber should automatically be offered another option in place with the same value then the first game offered. eg outland, I’ve bought and now comes for free, could have a game of my choice in the same amount of OUTLAND. would be fairer, because besides paying the subscription still buy games not only the hope that comes for free …..

Wow, sleep-addled as I am, I know @452 had some communication break-down.
I was mistaken in thinking Outland was part of the last PSN PLAY, but I’ve confidence that SF3 wouldn’t go into freebie rotation anytime soon. And by “the one title from this year’s PLAY”, I meant the one I wasn’t interested in (E2).
Point still stands, though: OFFER DLC DISCOUNTS FOR INSTANT GAME COLLECTION TITLES.
That way, even if we already own the base game, we can still (hopefully) get something out of the newcomers and polish of our copies. (I, though, wouldn’t care if RDR got in; got the complete pack some months ago, so I’m set.)
Heck, maybe throw in discounts for ancillary content (read: themes and avatars), even if only for their IGC debut week.

After all the E3 hype I decided PS+ was right for me. But in subsequent months, being somewhat disappointed with the catalog updates, I found that Europe has Deus Ex, Dead Space, and Assassins Creed… Ouch. Please bring these games over to the US so I don’t feel like I’ve been swindled.
Ugh… I just read that the EU will be getting Red Dead Redemption in September… It’s really unbelievable. Good for them, but how could the difference in selection be so vastly unbalanced?
Maybe I shouldn’t be whinning, as inFamous 2, LBP2 and Outland are fantastic games. But Europe got not only these games, but also Darksiders, Deus Ex, Oddworld and Borderlands. And they’re getting Red Dead Redemption next month! I mean, c’mon, the difference is ridiculously absurd! The one game USA had, is now available for Europe (Just Cause 2).
Oh well, Outland is available to USA now. Maybe it’s a matter of time before the other games arrive here too… I HOPE.
Whats up Sony why does the NA have to wait every few months to get a kick ass title. Just release them each month. I want full games not just filler crap.
I joined up right after that huge hacking downtime cuz it was free and then i got a good deal on an extension. So im sure as far as free stuff ive gotten way more than ive put in. Yeah sure some of these games i am not interested in playing but then other games like supersonic rocket powered battle cars is a great game to play and i still get on it once in awhile. It will probably never get deleted by me. Unfortunately i already have dust and i like it. I enjoy getting free avatars and themes too. Keep it up.
How about some games like Darksiders, Uncharted 3, Dark Souls,Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, ect.
I REALLY wish we could have Red Dead Redemption like Europe. I’ve held off on buying it and after seeing it for free for them I was really disappointed that we weren’t getting it as well. I’ve really liked most all of the games that have been offered since I started subscribing during E3, but more full PS3 games would be appreciated. Maybe not the most popular ones because most subscribers will have them already, but whatever you decide will probably be sufficient.
Also to those whining that you have these games already, there will always be someone who already has the game, so they can’t win all the time.
Outland is a good game but it plays very oldschool and doesn’t do anything for me. I’d rather get the other Walking Dead Episodes yall only gave us 1 and 2. Where the hell is 3 4 and 5? Why didn’t yall just give us the season pass. Silouette platform games are terribly dated I mean I thought I was playing a Little big Planet Level. Dungeon Hunters Alliance is a good old and cheap game…I would like to see that go to plus, I’d play that I loved the demo of it. Has that Diablo 3/Torchlight feel to it.

Uncharted 3 is a good choice, or MassEffect2 or 3, NFS the Run is also in the low price range now. They should offer games with low populations on Mutiplayers so that the companies don’t pull the plug on the Mutiplayer Aspect of the game like how they did with Mercenaries 2 World in Flames, Metal Gear Solid 4, Assassins Creed Brotherhood and even Full Auto 2 Battlelines. That pisses me off when I buy a game, And the game shuts the mutiplayer done perminently. Plus should beable to prevent this type of thing from happening. Or the game has difficulty launching a Game or DLC maps cause of the low population. Like MAG and Vegas1 and 2. even some of the newer games like Homefront all struggle to get into a match. Even Gotham Imposters that was the reason Plus gave us that game if they didn’t it would have crashed and burned. I had Gotham Imposters before Plus gave it away. It was a good choice and saved that game from Graveyard.
For Godsakes give us the new Counterstrike game if you do that I will be VERYVERYVERY happy. I want something where I can shoot people in. I love FPS games. better to do it in the game than the Realworld right? LOL! Counterstrike was the single most Defining FPS Shooter of ALL TIME for PC and Consoles it was a game I still have which I play on my original XBOX console and now I herd it’s be updated to this ERA. It’s a Call of Duty Killer I tell you. Counterstrike Global offensive is a must have game for all PS3 gamers.
I don’t typically like scrollers but Outland was a good game very well built and people put alot of thought into the game. Still EU got it WAYYY before us. Will we be seeing Motorstorm Apocalpyse soon or some more Episode Installments for The Walking Dead? I really want that Counterstrike game :(

Is there an announcement coming for tomorrow from Morgan? Is anything new added to plus this week? Anyone else think all psn only games should be ported to Vita?
If I had to guess the ps3 game next month will be Uncharted 3. It Would be the huge splash sony wanted to make and I think it will be announced cross controller and or remote play will work via a new patch and the 1.8 firmware update the 28th so they will be giving us Vita owners a huge bonus before Vita is even officially on PS Plus. It’s only a prediction and wishful thinking but it sounds like something they’d do, esp after this whole SCEE Red Dead Redemption uproar.

Still waiting for the Dust code to see the worth of this month, while I do believe PS+ is good value I would love to know how to switch to the EU PS+ which is obviously more compensating, if somebody knows how to switch I would appreciate it, I got 2 months of ps plus left and the next time I will order a full year subscription, I need to be sure to do the right choice.
I have to agree with the posters, i love the walking dead so at least it was worth re signing up, but getting a newsletter saying tomb raider and other awesome games free and then finding out no just cause or tomb raider for north america compared to EU. I know licensing and things, but we get borderlands also and wouldnt mind decent games instead of flash type things.
sigh in the end what can you do, although happy with walking dead and proto so even update maybe. i just wished newsletters emailed reflected north american ps plus releases.
and to add, it really isnt fair that eu gets real games and we get the junk been other then 1 or 2 games.
why complain? they give us free games every month and great discounts. I paid 15 dollars for the plus account and when it’s up I will renew with no worries cause Sony at least is giving us something back for the money we pay a year. Mar044 – Just wanted to let you know that Tomb Raider and Just Cause were available for NA Plus subscribers – I joined the second week of August and they were still available, you must have just missed them. I know that when I finally joined, I missed Gotham City Impostors by a day, as I couldn’t decide if Plus was worth it, still would be nice to get Dead Space or some of the other games EU have received, but so far I am happy with the titles that I have received, some for me and some for the kids.
I got PS Plus still during the instant game collection, and although I agree with the idea that we aren’t getting what we want, and that sucks, it really isn’t a big deal. Seriously, I got my money’s worth on day 1 when I downloaded LBP2 and inFamous 2 (Barely missed Uncharted 1 and 2, also.). Please stop complaining like children.

I don’t think I have wasted my money at plus, on the contrary I feel I have gotten enough value (since I don’t have many games and these are my first months) BUT let’s remember these are not really free games, you need to be a plus member to play them, so you will have to pay for the service if you wanna play no matter if what you receive later does not satisfy your expectations if the service quality goes downhill.
In my personal opinion they should be more balanced about things between customers of different Regions, even if the service was $1 I would still see the unfairness of other Regions getting more than we get, I would like to add also that The Walking Death full season pass SHOULD be provided to count as an actual full game, for now is just like a 2 episodes demo and in my opinion not worth of calling it a full game (it is better than the blood rayne one tho but too short), instead it looks like a marketing plot to make the loyal plus members buy the full season to finish the game. I would have opted to get only Dead Space 2 instead of TWD, BloodRayne and Outland.
Why not design a system like it? To offer way more games per month but limit the user to choose 3-4 games per month in case they already have some of them? Why not categorize to a constant of 3 psn games, 3 ps3 full per month and some mini-games to have a more balanced selection without getting flooded of not so good psn games that never made it as a retail game? In my opinion that is what should be done to keep customers happy.
I missed uncharted 1 and 2 as well. I’ve had plus since dec 2012 but i really didn’t pay attention to the free games as much as I should have. The last year being a very busy year. But now I’m back to gaming and recently bought a 750 gig hd for ps3 and downloaded everything I could. I hope they have a 2 week period where you can download everything they’ve offered for plus since its inception. That would be amazing but just a pipe dream.

I’m not a tid bit interested in PSN Games, I only got Plus for PS3 games honestly. Since there hasn’t been an update in 3 months… I won’t be renewing. Was alright as long as it lasted.
