As most of you know we are releasing a pretty hefty System Software Update (v1.80) for PlayStation Vita (PS Vita), which will enhance your experience and also allow you to play PSone Classics on your device.
Before the update becomes available, I wanted to take the opportunity to walk you through some of the highlighted changes and give you a sneak preview of what you can expect.
PSone Classics
We are working hard to ensure that all of your favorite PS one Classics titles will be available for download directly on your PS Vita via PlayStation Store (PS Store) as soon as possible.
Here is a list of PSone Classics titles that will be available for download on 8/28:

- FINAL FANTASY VII
- Hot Shots Golf 2
- Jet Moto
- Syphon Filter
- Tomb Raider
- Twisted Metal 2
- Wild Arms
For those of you who have already purchased these titles, you will be able to re-download those games directly from your PS Store account or transfer them to your PS Vita directly from your PS3 at no extra charge.

ok i am in ps store but i cant find ps1 games anyone know where to go to find ps1 games?
so far I’ve been able to transfer from my PS3:

Chrono Trigger
Castlevania Chronicles and SOTN
Final fantasy origins, 6 and 7.
I am still downloading the other 40+ ps1 games i have onto my ps3 again to test them out. I will update asap.

I can confirm that i have 80 ps1 classics and 60 of them transfer from my ps3 to my vita.
I love this community, I only really wanted to replay final fantasy iv,vii,ix and legend of dragoon on my vita. Going to redownload these now :)

yo… wheres the cross play feature mentioned before… at least make it available for games that arent gonna be on the vita. (like killzone 3 AS MENTIONED IN THE DEMO VID!!! >_<) also what about ps2 game support? even if only trough remote play, its an idea. and itd help you sell more. maybe consider these thoughts?
I’m actually not too caring for PS1 Classics, as I can play them on my PS3, but I was hoping this update would also be bringing PS Plus to the Vita. Where is this? That is actually the one thing I was looking forward to the most.
Call us cry babies but you know too well that it just aint fair that only europe has the 100 promised games while us great americans get this embarrassment of a list! And to top it off i cant even download FF7 from the store -___-

I can confirm Breath of Fire IV works, as does Gaia Seed, tried Grandia it isn’t found on your PS3 yet, about to try Xenogears next…so please add Breath of Fire IV and Gaia Seed sure it is only a few but the support is there that is all that matters! Thanks!

on the page before this it says 16 titles will be available to download. but you only list 9? what are the other 7 games?
btw to everyone on here. if you have a vita AND a ps3 with ps1 games on it or a ps3 that can play the ps1 disk, you can play all of them thru remote play just have to be on the same internet signal…..
When are you gonna fix that sony. TOO MANY FALSE PROMISES AND PEOPLE ARE GONNA STOP BUYING THE VITA.
I love the system but you got to get the ball rolling soon on all these things you said it can do but hasnt been able to do yet.
Hey Midair, just use your PS3, go to the store re-download the titles you listed and then before installing connect your Vita, the compatible ones are found and transfer them that way. ^_^ Sure you have to re-download the install kits for them but once done there you go.

Oh o.k. well then I hope they do get them up in the store for you and everyone else as well, but anyone else who has access to their PS3 can just do it that way. Good Luck man. I can confirm Xenogears copies over as well Threads of Fate so if your into those and they aren’t up on the store when they do hit…just do it through your console.

Hello fellow , i’m from canada , and i just get the 1.8 update on my vita. But on the PS store i can’t see any ps1 classic games! And i don’t have a PS3 so i can’t copy games from it neither… Is it normal? Do you think PS1 classic games will appear on PS store soon? Thanks
so far from what I have seen no one has been able to download psone classics from the psstore other then europeans

Yes, speak of that. Why there is no PSone classic tab at PS vita store ?
Please Sony overhaul the PS vita store and normalize it and make one with PS3 and ofc warn players that if they buy titles not meant for vita they will not work etc …
And also it is time to allow PSN store to be accessed via PC and also download games and tranfer them to Vita easily.
Don’t be jealous to europeans , because i’m also from France, and if you don’t know i can tell you that ps1 games on PSN europe suck! why? because we have a old 50hz format for these games, like it used to be on PS1, and it means that games are slower , and uglier…
so you may not have 100 games for now, but believe me be glad because at least you have 60hz original games, with original speed, and that is great
that’s why i have an US account (or canadian it’s the same PSN i think)

Rockman 2, the Japanese import for Mega Man 2 works.
BUT. I initially thought that button lag was because of my Ps3 controller when I played it there. Playing it on the Vita, the button lag is still present! Perhaps it was like this in the original release…I wouldn’t know…but how disappointing. I almost thought I was on to something. :/
Well, that launch list doesn’t excite me at all. Guess I’ll just re-download Final Fantasy IX and Breath of Fire IV onto my PS3, and see if it’ll let me transfer them after the update goes live. Also hoping that Castlevania: SotN will transfer. And I’ll wait on word from others whether or not Legend of Dragoon will work. Otherwise, I’ll keep waiting until it’s confirmed to work before I buy it. No sense getting a copy I can’t play on my Vita, since my physical copy will work in my PS3.
The other feature updates are nice though. Especially the back touchpad for scrolling. No need to worry about accidentally clicking a link while scrolling, due to a cramped screen.
A few things about this update. The on screen keyboard seems more responsive. Now for a bad, you cant download all the videos you used to, it will avtually do a download on screen with no ability to background it then tell you it doesnt work. Also they added TOM trophies to the psn now that show up.
They added a report error button as well. Some changes to layouts everywhere and a few new settings just look around. The ps1 support seems to be a downer and i do not know anything of using it as a controller. With the bad they still added some major improvements on the little things. Even if you dont see them right away they are there.
Two more things. Sorry if i post about things in video but I can’t watch it on my vita. Maps now have sattelite and traffic views. Unless i did not notice it before i think they made it where when you seleft a text box it automatically zooms in on it. o to close a tab istead of swiping and triggerz to switch between. enjoy
just want to clarify, is the update in us different from europe, because there are more compatible games listed in europe blog than here, will it be applicable or the list is exclusive, just asking
I cannot friggin wait til the hackers bust this system wide open and save us from this utter incompetance from sony. After all these months, and just 9 games, just pitiful.

I’m personally transferring Breath of Fire IV, Castlevania Chronicles, Castlevania: SotN, Final Fantasy IX, International Track & Field, Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, Medievel, Silent Hill and Um Jammer Lammy. I’m not sure if those 9 games are like a “confirmed to work” or what. But I’d suggest trying to transfer any games you can download onto a PS3 onto your Vita and see what works.

@ AizawaYuuichi i have not played it yet on the vita but i was able to transfer it to the vita once i had re-downloaded it to the ps3. It just took a long time to download all 40+ ps1 games to my ps3.
Got the Update awhile ago and I only transfered 3 games due to a lack of space in my memory card. The games I transfer were Syphon Filter 2 & 3 and Jet Moto. The first game I played was Syphon Filter 3 and when I started playing it I noticed that Gabe Logan was going in directions I wasn’t telling him to go. He would go left while I wasn’t doing anything or vice versa. Maybe it’s just me but maybe there needs to be a 1.81 patch to remedy this.
btw,have you seen compability list at eu blog?there’s like 30 something titles,wtf?
Just had my first issue with this update on the PSone side of things. I was playing Final Fantasy 7 and the graphics completely glitched out on me, I was unable to read anything when speaking to people and the commands in combat. I was forced to completely restart the game to fix it.
