The month of October is an exciting one for PS3 gamers, with a plethora of AAA titles hitting store shelves over the next four weeks. I’m excited to announce today that eight of the hottest upcoming titles will be available on PlayStation Network the same day they hit retailers through a new program called PSN Day 1 Digital!
To celebrate the launch of this new program, we’re giving you access to participate in “digital game launches,” so you can get your hands on great games releasing in October, without having to leave home. We’re also giving you the chance to pre-order select games ahead of their release date and offering 10% discounts on a number of titles for PlayStation Plus members.
This new program aims to bring you the best PS3 titles digitally through PlayStation Network. Throughout the month of October, we will be offering the following titles for download on day 1:

@197 they are only showing games that are coming out in October, so its possible we might get psn copy of Black Ops for November. I’m a bit sad that WWE ’13 wasn’t listed.

I was hoping RE6 would be a day 1 digital!! Already have 1-5 & CV, now to complete my RE digital collection. Off to Gamestop tomorrow to cancel my retail preorder & preorder on PSN.
this day 1 digital downloads and pre orders are frankly a waste of money, if you pre order dishonored at gamestop you get the arcane assasin pack wich is awesome. Medal of honor pre order gets a map pack free dlc a beta code for battlefield 3 and a set of missions for seal team 6 hunt for osamah benladin frankly you get more for a physical copy and pre orders it would help if sony would give deals like that for going digital and buying from psn.
Some people complain just to complain. Look I don’t care if the game costs 59.99 that’s still cheaper than buying it at the store when you add in sales tax. The fact that I don’t have to drive there is another + and the fact that PS+ members may get discounts, I got to admit Dishonored wasn’t on my radar, but now I think I will get it just because. The only thing that needs to be addressed is the times the games are available. A midnight availability would be awesome. I’m beginning to prefer digital downloads. Now I don’t have to buy a second copy to put on my kids PS3

Day1Fail ! Why is NBA 2k13 limited to one account? First it was cut down from five accounts, now if purchased it can not be played on another account or system. Can someone explain the reasoning with singling out this game. Sometimes I dont know its like one step forward two back with Sony. Can I just get a response.

why isnt resident evil 10% off also with ps+? i bought borderlands 2 (GREAT GAME) on psn it was a mistake to buy it on digital copy it didnt come out on midnight, i had to wait the whole day till the store updated at 7pm =(

Thanks, but no thanks. I’ll take the physical copy. No digital downloads for me. Takes to long to download and requires too much hdd space.
Most Wanted will be cool for digital if u have two ps3 ,so if u buy it once n u will have two copies so u and a mate can play it together without spending another $60.
I love this! A discount for PS+ members is a great idea to make up for other places’ pre-order deals. But one problem. I would like to see the release date in the description. I don’t want to have to look it up on my computer. The excitement I had for Doom 3 fizzled when I didn’t see the release date and would have to pry the computer from my girl to look it up.

Mr. Pierre Gravereau, I have a big problem with these digital prices. I called Sony the other day to explain my logic, but the woman I talked to said she wasn’t even a gamer and didn’t know what to say, so maybe you can give me some answers.
Before you use the playstation plus discount as an answer, I realize that it helps a bit. But still, $59.99 for a full game? That’s absolutely ridiculous. Aren’t the only people making money off that digital game Sony and the developers/publishers?? Gamestop doesn’t take a cut nor does Walmart, BestBuy, ect.
Will NBA 2K13 include the pre-order bonus dlc (allstar weekend)?, if so i will definitely buy it here on the psn store!.

Maybe this has been answered somewhere but I cannot find the info anywhere. Whenare you charged if you preorder a game on PSN? I don’t mind putting a few dollars down but am extremely leery of paying in full weeks in advance, especially for a download. Particularly since it is not uncommon for games to be delayed, sometimes for months, occasionally only days before the original release date. Can anybody clarify what is up with the billing?
Will we be charged the full amount when paying in the PlayStation Plus Store or how will that work?

@ 226 yea it will charge full price as u pre order it. and with hits games like these 8 im sure they wont push back the release date. if u dont want to pay full at once u can pre order it when its about to release.

for instints, bestbuy has all star digital content for nba 13 pre-orders, as well as resident evil digital content, ac3 has the extra mission pre-orders. I reached out to these publisher f with no luck, all they said was it was retailers exclusive content and sent me links too their site.

Does anyone here, staff or my fellow gamers, know why the UK store gets ALL 3 RE6 pre-order bonuses and can download before release to play at midnight upon release? Just curious because I’d love to have gotten those as opposed to nothing on Tuesday :( (Yes I’m still buying digital despite that because of less blu-ray drive wear and tear.) Anyway it’s still nice to have Day-1 a lot more often sony, so thanks.
Btw figure $4 per disc and $2-3 per unit for shipping, there’s you’re $6 reasoning whiners, shut up and stop trolling already. The reason RE6, MOH, and AC3 are full-price is because they’re successful franchises so the companies know they’ll sell regardless of a bit of up-charging. Suck it up, it’s the gaming “industry” whether they love making games or not it’s still a business and the objective is to make money.

I got a message to my email saying that if I spend 100 dollars in October i get 20 dollar credit. So I bought nba2k13 yesterday but forgot that this was only for October will I still get 20 dollar credit???
I want to get some of these games, but it’s really annoying and defies any and all logic that digital games are damn near full price considering there’s ZERO packaging, shipping, handling costs, no fees for stores selling your product, and technically we don’t even OWN these games.
I just shake my head at the idea that a whole lot of people are going to be paying damn near 60 dollars for Assassins Creed III…oh wait…PSN+ gets a few bucks off so it’s 54.99.
Still incredibly over priced considering it’s simply a digital copy with very little costs towards Sony for hosting and delivering.
There is zero excuse for digital copies of brand new games being this high. Also there are older games that are still 49.99 or so which is equally ridiculous.
I could see charging $49.99 for a day 1 digital release, but 55-60? smh. The greed is overflowing.

It’s your choice. If you have 2 ps3 in your household, going digital is a great deal to avoid using splitscreen in detriment of image quality.
@241 I’m firmly a digital over physical guy when it comes to video games. I much prefer digital, I just think it’s sheer greed on the part of Sony to still have these games priced at $60 considering there’s no other costs then hosting. I get your point on the retailers not liking it, but the retailers are already going to be mad, but it’s not like they’re going to stop stocking Sony products.
you could be mad to basically every other online “retailer” for this. It’s not sony who sets the price either way, it’s capcom. Sure a percentage is going to Sony for acting as the distribution service, but the big cut is on capcom. Retailers won’t be “mad” if there’s a fair commerce where they have a RRPP. And looking at it unlike other digital platforms such as steam, I can actually play this content on 2 ps3, unlike the disc.
In fact, the digital leading platform, steam… sells games at a very high price, over retail sometimes even. It’s all dictated by publishers. Unless it’s a sale (again, arranged with the publisher) and people go into an insane buyspree.

So I am left wondering at what time are we going to be able to download? I mean it usually takes you guys a while to update the store so it’ll be like 5pm before I can even download nba 2k when i could get it at the store faster

Oh sweet didn’t notice AC3 was going to be available on day one digital. I was planning on getting a physical copy, but don’t have much cash to spare on games this month. Luckily I still have the money in my PSN account I was planning on using for Dawnguard (but that day’s never going to come) I was debating on what to spend it on. But hey why waist 20 bucks on some DLC I wont have time for in the next fewmonths, and fork over an extra forty bucks for PSN store and get a new game =D Yeah F dawnguard!
