Today, we’re happy to announce that the PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Beta will kick off for PlayStation Plus members on PS3 tomorrow, October 16th and expand to everyone October 23rd through PlayStation Store! What’s more, as a special treat, PS Vita users will be able dive right into the multiplayer beta starting tomorrow – no Plus subscription required. The Beta will support Cross-Play, so PS3 and PS Vita owners will be able to fight with and against each other.
So what will be in this limited Beta?
- You’ll be able to play as Kratos, Sweet Tooth, Colonel Radec, Sly Cooper, PaRappa, and Fat Princess.
- You’ll be able to play in both the Metropolis and Hades stages.
- You’ll be able to try out four-player online tournaments and 2 v 2 online tournaments. For the 2 v 2 games we’ll be supporting friend invites, so you and a friend can fight another team online.
This, of course, is only a tiny fraction of what PlayStation All-Stars has to offer, but we thought you’d love the chance to try it early and see what all the buzz is about. Be sure to hop on quickly as we’ll be ending the Beta on October 30th!
But that’s not all. As you know, we have a pre-order program running right now that unlocks a set of exclusive costumes in the game. Today we’re happy to unveil the rest of the costumes you’ll be getting with your pre-order of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
Unlocked with your pre-order at participating retailers, these costumes will work for both the PS3 and PS Vita when it releases on November 20th, so be sure to reserve your copy today. And don’t forget: PlayStation All-Stars features Cross-Buy support, so if you purchase the PS3 version, you’ll get a downloadable PS Vita version for no extra cost.

Still not up for me and its 1 hour and a half till the 25th, they lied about the 23rd to me, it is absolutely not on my PSN Store.
Who is in charge here? I’ve been playing the public beta and one thing is bugging the hell out of me. The patapon part of the hades level is horrible. Not the patapons themselves but the music. It is god awful. As a major patapon fan I can honestly say it’s insulting to my senses. None of the music sounds like it would come from the patapon. I hope this is just some place holder stuff cause it’s really that bad.
It’s still not on my store. Am I going about looking for it the wrong way, or is it just not there? What category is it under?
it’s the 24th of October now and im wondering if the release of this beta is for the UK as well, as i have looked on the playstation store several times and i am not able to find the beta?
I can’t find it in the UK Playstation store!! Help….

This is a fun game, but there is a problem. When ever I get hit by an enemy I always and I mean always get flung to the other side of the map. Sony please fix this problem would make this game more enjoyable and fun.
I was sure this would be a good gaming experience that would tend to my nostalgic needs regarding the days of Super Smash Bro’s, but I was sadly mistaken. The fact that it doesn’t matter how many times you get hit unless it is by a power attack is honestly a joke. I have fought hard games against people and have been doing pretty well, then with 10 seconds left someone can use a power up and just clean house, putting them in first place leaving no chance for anyone else. It made sense in super smash, every time you get hit, your percentage went higher. The higher you percent, the more likely you will get hit off the map. In this game the only way you can kill or be killed is by using the power up one shot special. For all the potential this game could have, I am seriously disappointed in the concept of the damage and kill system. Since power ups are so important and sometimes hard to get because of dominate players, I find it odd that while activating a power up you can be stopped from using it by being hit from another player. I had every intention of getting this game but if this beta is any indicator of how the full game plays then I am going to have to pass on this one.
so do we get anything cool for playing the beta like an avatar or a theme?
Hey, I’ve been looking on the PS Store since the Playstation All-Stars beta was released and I’ve had no luck finding a free PS3 version. Can anyone help with where it’s located exactly?
First, I want to say I agree with (352) Joe-Hara on the Patapon stuff. I’m a huge Patapon fan and the some of the best things about the game is the music, and to change it so dramatically and not even make it sound good… it’s really sad.
Second, as someone who played the developer beta, it was a little confusing going into this beta and finding some commands changed. Some I say for the better, some I’m still trying to get used to. I think this game is better than what I expected. I didn’t know how this would work when attacks on another person will never kill them, but playing it is a different story. It’s quite fun, although some characters have way more advantages than others.. but what fighting game doesn’t have that?
I think Kratos is waayyy too overpowered. Granted, I’ve been beating all of them, but the fact that almost every Kratos I’ve fought has gone to level 3 half way through the match is ridiculous. Kratos builds up super really easily, has lots of fast long range attacks with barely any recovery time at all, and has some chain grabs that auto home in on you… he’s has almost no weakness. I saw you guys got rid of some combos from the closed beta, and Parappa’s grab into super (which I’m so thankful of, THANK YOU). Please do the same for Kratos.
Also, Sweet Tooth’s supers are pretty bad. Namely his 2nd super. A level 2 super that’s slow and would mostly hit probably 1 person? It’s a joke. Absolutely not worth using. While his level 1 super is okay, he has to work harder to get group kills. Level 3 is pretty good, Sweet Bot was made better than first beta. But the fact that I saw Level 2 super’s rocket get destroyed on a platform that you can go through made me sad. With someone like Kratos and Parappa who can build super so easily a Sweet Tooth player, if he can’t build enough super to hit level 3, has to get and rely on level 1 kills.

i dont get it. how comes there arent characters around like lara croft, leon s kennedy or chris redfield? they should be in it!
CAN’T WAIT TO PLAY THE BETA!! Just wish the roster was bigger, i think they should add Spyro and Crash Bandicoot on to the roster.
Please! Let the player change the spoken language in the game (like Uncharted) the spanish voices are awful… and the original voices always rules!!

Um.. Sony its kinda hard to invite my Vita friends on PS3 if i don’t know their online. second uh I plan on buying the PS3 version of PSASBR (thank you for cross-buy) but two weeks after E3 I pre-ordered the Assassin’s Creed Vita Bundle so is the 4GB enough.

After playing the beta for some time now (as all 6 players) I have come to the conclusion that Radec’s sniper rifle has too short of a charge time, and too large of a knock back. One other complaint about this move is that it is able to travel through a teammate. I know all moves do this, but because of the knock back and fast charge it was all to easy for a team to have Radec in the back snipping wile PaRappa (I.e.) makes it so that you can’t touch Radec. Because of this “strategy” Radec was able to have a level 3 within a minute ( witch I have done with other characters but only when I would switch up my moves). A final complaint I have is that the up on the left analog doesn’t allow you to jump making it very difficult to do a steam of air attacks.
You wanna talk about building supers in a minute? Let’s talk about how fast Kratos and Parappa can build super. Kratos can combo you forever with his FAST long reach with no real delay, into the air to do his multiple hit… or his grab into another grab into another grab? He needs to be slowed down big time. 7/10 Kratos’ makes it to level 3… almost every time. As for Parappa, I’m glad they saw his cheap grab into super 1 move and took it out… but his kicks and punches build super so fast it’s insane.
How do i report problems?
If here then, sometimes the character i choose is kratos or the army guy when i choose sly cooper.
Thats something that need to be fixed.

Anyway, I enjoyed playing as Sly for the majority of the time I got the beta. Other times I would play as Kratos or Radec. I know others had a couple moments where you lose the connection during a match or it takes some time to find a match. It was definitely a fun experience for me and I cannot wait for this game’s release.
Oh I love this, I was checking weekly for MONTHS to see if there was some form of demo, and I’m sick for one week, so I miss the whole thing? Fantastic. Just Fantastic. Well i guess im not buying the game now because i have no idea whether I like its gameplay.
How do i get in the beta on vita, i have already tried to find it on the playstation store but all i can find is the trailers. Help Please!!

I think Kratos is too OP. Hope they’ll change it in the final product but i highly doubt it =\
