  • @ 33, Ryumoau & others- here’s some info to those comparing digital/physical pricing. The bottom line is… there’s just one difference- one you can touch & the other you can’t. If you run a business that has a stake in physical & digital media, you would NOT mirror the sales in the retail dept. Why cannibalize the SAME product? You’ve just out maneuvered your retail partners (Best Buy, Gamestop, etc…) which not a good plan. Vendors need to move items off the shelves, while those in the digital media biz, has to constantly cover their “big” data costs involving storage & bandwidth.

And $30 for Orgarhythm is fine. If it’s too much for you, that’s okay, don’t buy it. Ridiculous? Have you made a retail game lately?

  • @92 no reason to preorder games digitally off psn yet, till the price matches the format and/or we get bonuses like retail.

  • @37

Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage has not been officially announced yet. It is clearly coming though, my trophy list can’t lie. It will be here very soon I’d imagine. And Kristine, yes, Captain Scarlet just came out, apparently Gearbox is working overtime, they promised to have all dlc out by June.. must be May where they work.

  • Still trying to figure out what the brain trust at THQ is on selling Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy for $30 each in this day and age.

    @47 RyanSaotome

People are lazy and stupid in general….. The pricing is the way of closed platform DD.

  • @100 yes its ridiculous. You can get a random rhythm game with as much content as that game off the IOS app store for cheaper.

  • Did you guys forget that you haven’t added the Crash games to Vita yet? Please help me understand what on earth you are doing.

  • Thank you for the reply to comment #5, Kristine Steimer. If the folks in charge of this don’t step up please start messing with their desks.

  • Kristine,
When is Girl Fight coming to the PSN?

    • Aw, man. At first I thought you were referencing a podcast I was once on, then I Googled it and found out it was a game D:

I don’t believe it has a release date yet.

  • Thank you Miss. Steimer. Been a fan since your IGN days.

  • Someone want to explain to me why us digital download users keep getting the shaft. First it’s screwed up pricing. The retail versions of first party ps3 games get major price drops yet the digital versions stay the same.

Then on top of that ,and even more annoying is as far as these collections go. Back when these collections were announced GoW Saga was shown to be released on PSN then that got pulled ,and was said it to be coming a month later than the retail release. A month later ,and only Ratchet & Infamous collections made it to PSN.

Now on The Drop Killzone Trilogy keyword Trilogy was listed as a PSN download. Yet only Killzone HD is available. Are these games like KZ 2 & 3, GoW 3 ,and even the Resistance games ever coming to PSN at some point?

  • Kristine,

    Thanks for the prompt response!

  • thanks for the reply kristine ^^ i was waiting if the price was going to drop, but whatever i was going to buy it digitally anyway, pre-ordering today =D, any chance we get to download it before release date? i was hoping to play it at day one but it takes a lot of time to me to download big titles =/ anyway thanks =)

    • Our Day 1 Digital items aren’t midnight release, so you will have to wait for the PlayStation Store to update before you can download. We’ve updated our messaging in the Store so that more consumers are aware before they buy.

  • @80 & @99 Thanks for agreeing, I was hoping to get a reply from Kristine stating that she would forward on the idea. Hopefully more people will support the idea.

  • @ 104, Ryumoau- please link me which iOS/Andoid title that Orgarhythm’s gameplay can be compared to. If this was a “Rockband” type game then okay, I see your point- but it’s not.

  • @109 MAXIMO273

They can’t sharply undercut physical retailers without risking damaging relationships with them (and they may even have clauses in contracts) and that’s something publishers can’t afford to do. Besides that, publishers don’t mind because it means more money in their pockets, that includes Sony. Even when it comes to the day we’re forced into total DD it won’t get better.

As for the other things, that’s something only Sony or Store staff could answer.

  • Kristine,
You were right the first time. I was a big fan of the podcast.

  • Nice update :D

Any chance to have CoD Black Ops 2 on PSN on launch day? :P

  • @37 The next DLC was just announced last week, it will be a little bit still before it is out, though all expansions will be out by June 2013 I believe.

  • @#20 Ryumoau

Terrible comment. Only decent thing I saw was… well, nothing.

  • Thanks for the reply Kristine

  • I love how you guys just refuse to comment on the Crash thing. It really makes use feel good. WHY is it not up? There has to be some reason, or else you wouldn’t have put up tens of games nobody would call “Classics” and completely forgo one of the biggest Playstation franchises. It’s up in the other regions, can you not at least TELL us what the hold up is, instead of just pretending we don’t exist?

  • @ #38 whoers:

The Harley Davidson/Taxi pack is scheduled to release before Elvira. And the release date on that pack is currently “TBA, but possibly next week, 10/30” after it failed Sony’s submission process earlier this month.

The Elvira pack may or may not be released next week as well. It’s all still up in the air, apparently.

  • Suikoden 2

  • @120 They are probably busy responding to all the people wondering where the new store is in spite of the post saying it has been delayed. Which is this one by the way, https://blog.playstation.com/2012/10/19/update-on-the-new-playstation-store/

  • @114 its still a messed up situation. How does Steam manage to get away with with giving out amazing sales when they want?

  • Hey Kristine, any chance of seeing XCOM hit the PSN soon? Other than that great update looking forward to a lot of this stuff! keep up the good work :D

  • Hey Kristine! Uncharted dlc isn’t working. It’s not even showing up on the game. I purchased all and nothing to sow for, please fix or refund until it is working.

  • it took you over a year to fix the log in on ps blog ! You couldn’t log in on the ps3 !! so i have no faith in the new store ! you guys couldn’t screw in a lite blub whith out help !! stupid people !!! you should look into what your customers want ! i have a 10 year old daughter that comes up with better advertising then you ! you have no advertising what so ever on tv ! what you see is xbox with a ps3 mark at the bottom ! all you see in advertising is xbox ! your a lazy company ! your salesperson should be able to sell a hole to a donut factory !! your really slow on advertising !

  • Are we getting anymore PSP games added to the PS Vita? I am still waiting on Socom: Fireteam Bravo 3 and Modnation PSP. Moreover, why is The Darkness II $40? You can easily find it at retailers for $20.

  • Hi, I bought the vita version of sf x t, I’m supposed to get the DLC characters for free on the ps3 right? It’s not showing up as free on the ps3 store. All the other dlcs I bought are working fine.

  • @126, dlhdav7- can you relax? You throw in insults & include your daughter into the fold. If you read what you posted to your daughter, would she be PROUD of you? Have a drink please…

  • street fighter x tekken vita $39.99? what happpen to digital being cheaper than retail? im kinda regret buying the 32gb memory card now when the digital price is the same as retail, at least i can sell the retail version when i dont need it anymore. sony sure like to lie to their customer huh.

  • You’ll have to forgive Ryumoau, everyone. He’s a little slow, if you know what I mean…

  • Also what about PSP DLC support for PS Vita? any update on that front?

  • @123 Ryumoau

Steam/Valve isn’t at the mercy of retailers like other publishers, Steam is on a open platform with actual competition from other DD services along with retail. Steam has extremely low overhead they have a much easier time passing savings on to customers while still turning a profit. This isn’t going to last forever though, we’ve already seen EA pull their games off of Steam for their own DD service so they can control pricing and other publishers will likely follow such as Ubisoft which a couple months ago launched UPlay as a DD platform. I’m sure that they’ll eventually follow EA’s lead and pull their stuff from Steam if they find their footing. Eventually most, if not all of the major publishers are going to follow suit.

  • My only complaint is that there is still no Digital download of Crisis Core nor Kingdom Hearts BBS. Is there anyone you could poke about this? With a stick?
A sharp, pointy rusty metal stick?
With a flamethrower on the end?

  • Also, Valve/Steam pays their fees to publishers and give them their cut until publishers pull their deals Valve can sell “their” products how they want.

  • @130 Sony never said digital games were going to be cheaper than retail games, they only said you could get Vita games on both digital and retail format.

  • *************** QUESTION!!!\**********************

Does the Medal of honor come with access to play Multiplayer or would i need to purchase the online pass to gain access???
    Cant find an answer!!!!!

    • You mean if you purchase it off PSN? It comes with multiplayer access. Online pass is only necessary if you purchase the game used at retail.

  • Dead Or Alive 5 Round 2 Costume Set! WIN/WIN!

Feed Me More! Feed Me More!

    More the Better!

    DLC FTW!

  • @136 i could have sworn i read somewhere on ign alittle before Vita launched that Sony was going to offer at least $5 off the psn digital releases of all Vita games. I see it applied to some games but not all.

  • Hey Kristine, can you let the guys working on the PS Store revamp know when a user is on a game page (on the new store) that the “Buy Full game” option should be there be default instead of “Trial and Unlock/Demo” because users will have to find the Game unlock separately in the store and that can be really tedious. That or have the “Choose Version” option like they do on the Battlefield 3 page (UK Store)

    Thanks.

  • Thata What I meant.

    THANKS Kristine!!!!

    Cheers!!

  • I had a question about the Assassins Creed III Season Pass: Will this be available to buy separately from the game on the 30th?( I already preordered the game elsewhere) I need about a $25 purchase on the PS store to qualify for the $20 credit and want to know if I should wait to buy the season pass next Tuesday or just go ahead and buy something today. Thanks!

  • @Kristine: thanks for the Costume Quest recommendation last week. It’s not normally the type of game I’d go for, but I’ve really enjoyed it.

Looking forward to playing the Sports Champions 2 demo now to work on my forehand in preparation for next week’s release.

  • If Sony was going to hide the existance of Crash Bandicoot, you guys could just say so. I don’t understand how suck a important series isn’t on the vita yet in NA but it was from the get go in EU. Also, FFV!! Can someone ask SE about why it wasn’t vita compatible with the others?

  • @124 i’m actually waiting for that to happen =)

  • As noted by some comments, Corpse Party is not showing up under New Releases > Discounts or PSP > Discounts. I hope someone fixes it so people not paying attention to the blog won’t miss it.

  • Hello, I need to have some clarification on Street Fighter x Tekken for the Vita on PSN. There was 2 pieces of DLC that came bundled with the physical copy, but there’s no mention of it at all on the digital release; namely the 38 costumes for everyone and the actual 12 additional characters.

  • @139 Sony said they will have a 10% discount on digital games if possible. They always said that not all games will cause the devs have to agree to it also. But apart from sony games it’s hard to get the agreement
