Okami HD on PSN Today, Watch the Launch Trailer

At long last I’m pleased to share that the great goddess Amaterasu is ready to save the world once again! Ōkami HD is launching on PSN today in North America and will be available to download for $19.99 later today with the PlayStation Store update.

In case anyone needs it, here’s a quick refresher on all the things we’ve added to Ōkami HD:

  • The critically acclaimed classic brought to new life on PS3
  • Full native 1080p visuals brings Ōkami’s stunning visuals into the HD era
  • PlayStation Move motion controller support allows players to enjoy the celestial brush in new and intuitive ways
  • Trophy Support, including a Platinum trophy, gives players all new challenges to complete

I’d like to extend a big thanks to the PSN community as well as PlayStation.Blog for all their support for Ōkami HD. Your support helped make this project happen and it is greatly appreciated! I can say for myself that this title was hands down the most fun I’ve had working on any project here at Capcom. I hope you all enjoy the game as much as we’ve enjoyed bringing it to you.

Check out our launch trailer above. Will you be picking up Okami HD today? If so, will you be playing on DualShock or PlayStation Move?

  • Bought it. Couldn’t go to sleep until I had done brush strokes with the PS Move controller!!!

Okami was up with SSX and Gran Turismo for me on the PS2, great game, too bad that Clover went away without more output

Sony should press for a PSV port of Okami and Okamiden (I *had* to get Okamiden on the platform that shall not be named)

I recall using a VCR and tape on my old 36" NTSC to get all the beads (the one stone guy you have to tap like 12 times drove me to it!)

Remember, you can't get all the beads in one play! You *have* to play it twice to hit 100%.

  • @everyone who is against my posts

None of the things you said have anything to do with what I posted or make any sense to what I posted. You can be the type of person who doesn’t care if something is overpriced and still buys it, that’s your choice. But that doesn’t change the fact that you’re being ripped off, that Okami HD on PSN is overpriced and that if you continue to purchase anything with greedy, anti -consumer practices the companies that do them won’t stop, they will continue to do them, they could do more and worse anti-consumer practices and that other companies could start doing them because they see that enough consumers still purchase the products. What dirty, greedy, anti-consumer practices? overpricing products, locking content on disc just to release it later as paid DLC, excluding content from games just to release them as paid DLC later, overpricing DLC, releasing DLC that should be free as paid DLC, online pass, charging to play games online, and those are just some. And it doesn’t change the fact that all these practices and anything else that is bad that comes along are present because video game consumers keep purchasing those products.

  • Just to clarify, I do want quality and quantity and do support companies that are pro consumer that deserve to be supported, but it’s really sad if you think you should support anti-consumer practices from companies just to try and make sure they continue releasing their products you like. And I’m not poor or cheap, I bought the PS3 when it was $600 just as an example. It’s not about if you can afford it, it’s about what’s fair and right and the consumer being treated correctly. The reality is if a company isn’t treating consumers well, the consumer should not be a consumer to that company

  • i was wondering will capcom release a hd version of capcom classics vol.1 and vol .2 cause those games were awesome!
