  • Is there an e-mail contact to send a formal letter about possible problems/fixes for this new store layout?

My main concern is when im browsing. I tend to look at the store every other month for new updates and games, as such I will be reading the details on a lot of titles. Before, you could search by alphabet, I could look at all the A’s then the B’s. Now its limited to A-Z in a long list. The problem is when I’m done looking at a title, it resets me back to A, so I have to scroll some 1500+ titles to get back to where I left off. If you only look at the main screen or the item you clicked on, it does go back to the last title you where looking at in the A-Z list. Unfortunately, if you click on something like, an addon for the game, this will take you to another object. Once im done with the overview of the new object and press O to back all the way back to my A-Z list, I am now back to the fist item on the list of 1500+ items. It only seems to remember my position on the list so long as I do not go father then a single screen in… Not letting me look at other things effectively is a letdown, since that’s how I find new stuff to download.

  • Am i the only one having problems purchasing a PS3 game from the PlayStation store???

  • Most wanted features:

    1. Ability to toggle to old store
    2. Full-Text Search (new search could stay as a by-letter browse system, but it is no replacement for a true search)
    3. By Game Add-On Searches
    4. By MY Games Add-On lists (go by games installed & games purchased by account)
    5. Speed Performances needed
    6. Game browsing needs improvement
    7. Do Not Show Items for this Game features, such as to hide all of the Street Fighter skin add ons which spam the store
    8. Save settings between visits, such as what’s in your cart, what your filters are, etc
    9. Quick Download features again (right now you have to add FREE items to cart, then “purchase” them. If the item is free why isn’t this automatic like it once was?

In general it just needs a lot more work, this is my list on memory as I’m sure I could come up with 100 more things if I were sitting in front of it.

  • This is a repost from another thread, but I think Sony needs to hear it as many times as necessary.

I’m curious as to when the adding funds debacle will be resolved. I’ve tried two different credit cards and a prepaid card and I still can’t add funds. This new store is a shameful disaster and the fact that Sony keeps blaming me for my troubles is insulting. I’ve checked and rechecked my connection status, billing information, and the code on my psn card, just as every customer service representative has told me to do. This problem does not stem from my doing, and the fact that nobody from Sony can offer any kind of assistance just adds insult to injury. SCEA should be ashamed of themselves for the terrible management of the issues resulting from their inept launch of a flawed store. Treat your customers with respect an admit your mistakes. And just for the record, this new store is one of the biggest mistakes this company has made. Shame on you Sony.

  • Well I find the new store lacking. Mixing video and games is horrible. I don’t care about videos on PSN. but have no option to avoid them coming up when I search. I thoroughly used the search in the old store. But now its completely limited. I cant search for demos, avatars, or themes specifically by name. If there is a way, I have yet to find it. The search only brings up games and videos.
Tried looking for Disgaea avatars, in the avatar section but thats not possible. I have to search, click on a specific Disgaea game, then click on the avatar icon on that specific games overview page if they have them. I cant even type is Disgaea in full in the search now. I type up to DISGA, and then it stops me from adding anymore letters. And then lists 6 game titles. The old store I could type the WHOLE title in, and it would list any and all items available with that title in it, avatars, demos, games etc…
I tried to type in Okami, and the search stops me at OKA, and shows me, African Wild S.1 Ep8. OKAvango video, OKAmi-san and her Seven Companions TV show…..Rock Band “I’m Not OKAy ( I promise)???
I wasnt looking for any of this garbage.

  • Keywords are pointless for anything but Videos and Games.
    Cannot search Demos, Themes, Avatars????
Trying to search for Hook-Ups Skateboard Themes. Since the search tool only shows Videos and Games nothing shows up. I have to go to PS3 Themes>All PS3 Themes, and scroll manually through 1703 items, to try find what which ones have Hook-UPS in the titles. Neither the filter nor the sort icon help finding these specific themes. They are in there, but they are scattered throughout the huge list of themes. Each Hook-Ups theme has an individual title with the term Hook-Ups in it for keywording. But since there is not searching for PS3 Themes specifically keywords are pointless.. You cant even break the lists down to single alphabet searches either. Had the search tool worked like it did before it would have brought up all items with the term Hook-Ups in them plain and simple.
I am just curious if anyone could find these Hook-Ups themes as a group specifically in this new store, because I cant.
This is really a test to see how bad the store is.
Anyone who loves this new store, please try and find all the Hook-Ups Skateboard themes in one place and describe how to do so.

  • I Like the look but it suck took me a WHOLE HOUR TOO FIND 1 THING WTF SONY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Also I Cant Find Any Add ons for my game now Sony your losing my money

  • Missing are all of the Gran Turismo 5 Addon tracks are you planning to fix this?

    Thank you

ps I really love the new look, keep up the good work

  • I found the sort feature very helpful all you have to do is type the game name in and all apps addons and any video are shown very good idea. Except for Gran Turismo 5 none of the addon tracks are there. I hope you can fix this

    Thank you

  • Yes it is slower BUT my major issue is the steps when purchasing something…whether it is free or not the amount of steps you gotta get through is annoying and then add the time each one takes…this is the most annoying thing I have seen….I just cancelled and gave up on buying a few items just because the time it took was just a waste…this NEEDS to get fixed ….or on the other hand…keeping it this way ends up saving me money lol

  • The new lay out looks fine but i do NOT like it. I go onto the store to quickly look for ym add-ons new games etc. and get out. NOT LOOK AT PICTURES! The old lay out was functional. Get in see the updates and what you want and get out. I am waiting for downloads, trying to navigate a menu which though it has some perks still has more downsides. I understand you want it to look nice. but you sacrificed function to do so. Before i would sepnd 3 mins tops in the store have spent my 60 dollars and peace out… now i spend 15 mins get mad over far too long load times or having issues finding that one thing i waned, log off and don’t buy a thing.

  • Downloading PS+ free titles doesn’t work. At least in the case of Quantum Conundrum. It attempts to charge the $14.99 for a free game. Seriously.. can we get the old store back already? This is beyond aggravating. There is dlc coming down the tube this week that people are going to want to buy but won’t be able to.

  • Absolutely horrible. I used to love the way the PS Store worked and now I feel enraged every time I have to use it. If I wanted the Xbox marketplace, I’d buy an Xbox. Now we have to run an app to use the store, which lags, freezes and just generally sucks. There are NO positive changes to the store and MANY negatives. PLEASE put our store back to how it was! :-(

  • Please revert back from this piece of crap new store. It’s full of errors, slow load times, and bugs that prevent people (like me) from even navagating it cause it won’t respond to controller input except for the PS button. It’s no wonder Pirates are everywhere, when Sony makes just playing their games as annoying as possible with these buggy releases. Back to my 360. I go.

  • This is not a good update to the store. It’s slow, very very slow. It’s confusing and what is the difference between New games and Hot new games?? really.

Also not a fan of mixing content or the shameless promotion.

Take a look at what steam does, not xbox for future updates.

  • I thought this update was supposed to make navigation simpler and ease the finding of add-on. I spent ten minute trying to find an add-on for Borderlands 2 before I gave up and used the search function which h for some odd reason has that same annoying keyboard interface that keeps me from using your youtube app..

AIthough I will admit that yes it looks nice, but I preferred the old design. It was minimalistic, everything was easy to find with no excessive categories or options to complicate the process. You could find exactly what you were looking for within a minute of accessing the store.

Maybe I just need to learn how to better navigate through the new storewithout the search function, but so far I’m kind of hesitant to even use the store due to my inability to find anything.

  • Wtf Sony why would you put out this piece of crap? You are going backwards. this looks like something that should have been the first version of the ps store. way to go sony, way to go. now put it back to normal. and why the hell does it need to be downloaded to use? wtf is that? the normal one looks awesome, but it’s like you made a psvita version and forced it onto ps3. get out.

  • whoa whoa there i decided to read the pointless paragraph about it and it says “improved graphics” YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! it looks terrible now! how hard is it to not fail like you guys do sometimes? it’s not like they are little hickups, but they are major failures!

  • I dont like the new store at all all the add ons are all mixed up & you cant even go to them by game. This is BS. Bring the old store back.

  • The new store is terrible. Long load times, nearly 30 seconds just to add one item to the cart. It’s sloppy and cluttered with no good way to find things. The add-on section is useless.
The old store was near perfect. Sometimes simple list based is better, especially when it comes to buying things. Everything was sorted from A to Z in categories. More displayed on screen at once in a neat list. Adding to the cart was instant. Within a minute I could scroll to the letter I wanted, the game I wanted, and then go through all the DLC for it.
Why can’t we have the option to revert to the old store if we choose? We are the customers and simple list based is a comfortable shopping experience to many. I don’t even want to use this new store and I’m sure others follow in that opinion. But the paying customers are forced into this “trash”. Our input matters. Listen Sony. Happier customers means more money for you and the simple list based store you replaced was perfect.

  • The new looks fine etc but i cant seem to find access tv to download on my ps3 but can on my ps vita so where is it hidden, anybody know?

  • I just spent about 15 minutes trying to buy a game and just shut the ps3 down instead. It wouldn’t let me (for the 2nd time) and kept giving me ‘an error occurred’ after long load times.

I’m sure the staff is aware of that issue and it will be fixed eventually, but it would’ve been even better if it was functional before the actual release. Personally I don’t feel like checking it at all until it’s up and running successfully.

For sure, it does look more hi-tech and elegant. Albeit I choose practical over fancy and the option to have access to the old store until this is ready for the customers to use and abuse.

  • Dear Sony

I’ll refrain from employing some of the hyperbole and unnecessary abuse that has characterised many of the posts thus far, but seriously, the update to the PS Store has been a huge step backwards from the previous service. Aesthetically I guess its a tad more pleasing, but that means little if the service itself doesn’t work properly, if its all surface with no substance.

The layout and the interface is very unintuitive and user-‘un’friendly. Its also very slow and there too many glitches. The store only opens after several attempts and reboots of my PS3, error messages pop up all the time, it takes repeated attempts to add games to my cart, then even more attempts to actually access my cart, then when I get finally get into the cart I can’t purchase the game, etc, etc.

    (POST CONTINUED BELOW)

  • Logistically I don’t know what would be involved in ‘rolling back’ the service to the previous version, if that simply isn’t possible at this stage and there’s no turning back. But if it is possible, it would best for Sony just to admit that the update hasn’t been a success, take the criticism on the chin and ‘roll back’ the service. I think Sony would get more kudos from its customers by doing this than trying to fix a service that should have been in full working order upon release.

It feels like you’re really testing my patience as a loyal Playstation customer for many years, and are offering a drastically inferior service to other options out there on the market. I was going to buy a Vita the other day upon hearing that the Playstation Plus Service (to which I am a subscriber) would be extending to incorporate the Vita, but now I’ll be refraining from doing so, because I can’t be confident that the PS Store will be able to provide a satisfactory service in future.

    Yours sincerely

    im2hip

  • I’m another voice adding to the list of users that dislike the new store. It’s a pain to navigate and it makes downloading things a hassle. Even if I just want to download a demo, I have to click through a bunch of screens. Add that to the fact that I am constantly getting error messages that just say “An error has occurred” and offer no way to fix the problem. It won’t let me download anything, which means I can’t buy anything.

It seems unlikely that you will, but please bring back the old interface, or at least make something usable. This new store is downright unpleasant.

  • We want a wishlist!!!!!

  • i don’t like the new way to download demos i mean it has become more complicated!

  • Anyone else having a hard time buying things? It keeps giving me errors for about 5 minutes before it finally processes adding it to the cart. Then it does the same when I try to check out and claims I have an invalid password even though it works just fine logging in here and regularly. I hope this gets fixed soon. It’s irritating

  • This new PS Store stinks, plain and simple. The whole thing is a confusing mess. I had no problem whatsoever finding what I was looking for when using the old version, now it’s supposed to be even easier to navigate yet I can’t seem to find anything I’m looking for.

If it’s possible, please give us in a future update the option of going back to the previous layout if we so choose.

  • Please… come back the older one… this new PSN Store is too slow, there’s no recommendation option, search option bring ramdom results and no specific game and please the design is pure imitation of Xbox’s dashboard !!!

  • I have never logged into make a comment but the new store was terrible enough that I had to express it. Horrible performance and it’s not my provider I have a 50Mbps connection and it’s still horribly slow. To download a few small add-ons that would have taken under a minute before with the old store now took ten or more times as long. Terrible

  • Improved search? New filter and sort options? Improved graphics? I’ve been messing around on this thing for, what, 17 days now, and have seen none of these.

The new search is hardly an improvement; now, instead of the usual keyboard screen to search for what you want in a quick, easy way, you have to scroll through a list of letters and numbers for EVERY single character in your search. And it doesn’t even let you completely spell out what you’re looking for sometimes. It’s slow and tedious compared to what we gamers have gotten used to over several years on the PSN store.

Filter and sorting options? Where are these? Seriously, I can’t even find an option menu anywhere. Unless they’re talking about the Games, Movies, Apps and stuff on the welcome screen…but then how is that new, exactly? We had the same thing for the old store. And where are these “options” for the search to make it even slightly better?

  • (Cont.)

Improved graphics? …How exactly is a wider, overscanning program with blurrier text and images an improvement compared to what I had before?

And not only that…but they make us download it. And I’ve seen that they send patch updates too. If they keep doing this every time they update the store (which I hope is not the case), it’s going to take away precious hard-drive space for games and movies and whatnot. If they were going to change up the store like this, I don’t understand why they had to turn it into a downloadable program instead of just doing maintenance like they did for every other change they made with the old one.

If there’s anything good I can say about this new store, however, it’s the streaming videos. I’ll admit, I like them. There are times when I’d rather just download and not have to worry about the buffering speed, but, for the most part, I like just clicking on a trailer and watching without the waiting period downloading requires.

  • oh and another thing make the internet browser work properly i’m sick and tired of my console crashing every 10 min when i’m watching you tube videos.

  • Crap Store is crap, have not spent a dime since the update and my PSN wallet is crying. What can I do tho I cannot find the add-ons for my games and the experience is slower than the old store. No idea what prompt Sony to do such a move but w/e

  • GREAT JOB GUYS! :D …. NOT! The new store is an utter pile of bs. Annoying as hell to navigate and the flashy new look makes it lag to hell! Plus, when your downloading DLC and want to go back into the store it seems to lag SO much more! About the navigation issues, if you want to find DLC for, lets just say Red Dead Redemption, unless you’ve already downloaded it and can bare the ball ache of scrolling through all your previous downloads to find the DLC your screwed! Instead of having a good, simple filter of A-C D-F etc etc its now Multiplayer, Map Packs etc. What if the pack is a MIX of things like most RDR packs are?

Royally f***ed the store up. I WANT THE OLD STORE BACK!!!

  • Overall, I really dislike the new store, but in time, I’m sure I’ll accept it.

But the search function is just frustrating. Please put in an option to use the on screen keyboard, like it was before. The search results are very well done, I just can’t deal with up and down scrolling. I don’t know about you guys, but I got pretty darn fast on that keyboard. This scrolling seems to slow me down.

  • The new store is a complete pain in the butt for me to use. I use the PS3 download manager because it takes forever to download anything from the store. Ever since the new store launched, I have had so many problems viewing content, the search engine is a joke, and I feel the old format was more gamer friendly. I recently downloaded the Playstation Plus trial version of Homefront because it was free to try and the bundle pack was $14.99 if you are a Plus member (I am). After the trial hour was up, I decided to buy the game but it wouldn’t take me to the bundle pack for $14.99. It would only take me to the retail version of the game without the DLC for $19.99. What a joke! Now if I want the Plus deal, I have to download the game all over again to get the deal. Like I said earlier, it takes forever to download a game of this size (5gb). I can tell I won’t be spending too much money on the PSN store anymore. Why change it if it isn’t broke in the first place?

  • I logged in for the single purpose to say the new store front is horrible. I don’t have an xbox and it does remind me of Windows 8, again not something I have or want. I don’t understand what was broken about the previous version that needed this “fix”. I know corporate politics doesn’t allow a manger to say they messed up, so I will say it for you. You messed up. As other people have stated, I logged on to spend money and after finding the interface painful I closed the store and do not intend to come back to browse. The only way I will work with that interface is if I know exactly what I want before I get there. “Window” shopping will not happen as it is not really an option anymore. I thought Netflix messed up their interface, Sony has set the bar high on mess-ups.

  • Im going to have to agree with the majority here. The new Store really sucks. It actually wouldn’t be all that bad if navigating though the store wasn’t a pain in the butt.

Im sorry Sony but I refuse to buy anything until this is fixed.

SPEAK WITH YOUR WALLET. THEN THEY WILL LISTEN

  • Dear Sony and Grace Chen,

With ten pages and over four hundred negative responses to the new Store, when are you going to address our complaints? You forced an update on us that nobody seems to like (or want) at all! Not only that, but this new store and all of its thus far useless updates take up valuable hard drive space, something the older, and better, store didn’t do!

So, what and when are you going to do something? Ten pages and all we get is one very short reply!

The least you could do would be to post a new blog owning up to this mistake! Maybe you could even assure us that you’re working on a way to undo all the damage you’ve caused to the store to! Whomever designed this new store should be sacked along with the committee that approved it!

    Anxiously awaiting a response,
    Koi

  • Please revert back to the original store. There’s been a wrong exchange of new visuals over convenience.

The original PlayStation Store was simplistic, fast and navigational. The new store is very time consuming and not to mention laggy.

And typing in keywords is harder than the virtual keyboard, which was a LOT easier.

  • Quite frankly I highly dislike the new store. It is much more visually appealing but it’s slow and tedious to navigate. I like the thought but the execution seems rather poor. I’d much rather have a quick, easy-to-navigate interface over a pretty yet bogged down interface any day.

  • New design looks nice, but functions like crap.

    1. Loading seems worse.
    2. Unable to search for DLC by game. Matter of fact the whole Addon menu needs overhauled.
    3. Search results for DLC don’t show addons that haven’t been added to the menu yet, even if it is the release day(Mass Effect 3 Omega comes out today and I want to get it downloaded before tonight is over.)
    4. Needs the option to revert to the old PS Store. I preferred it.

  • First time long on for this and I am REALLY upset it’s to talk trash but I have to agree with the majority. The new store sucks to the Nth degree guys. I have trouble finding the add-ons I want and the search function is just stupid with that letter by letter crud. Get your stuff together and either really truly listen to us and fix it or go to the old store..by the way this is my first time with the new store..I don’t like it..FIX IT OR GET RID OF IT.

  • If you’re not gonna listen to us about this horrible new interface then at least, we implore you, try not to Windows Phone the rest of the PlayStation brand, please? It looks terrible, it loads terribly, it feels terrible to use, it’s counter-productive to waste money on designing it only to have to fix everything that’s wrong with it later.

  • The new Playstation store is TERRIBLE!!!! I hate it with the passion of a thousand burning suns.I recently sent an email asking for some help with the PS Store. I asked these questions.

    1) View results as a list and not HUGE icons that only allow 9 things at a time to be on the screen?
    2) Group the add ons by the game, instead of having to look through LITERALLY HUNDREDS of add ons? I DON’T want to group the search for “weapons” or “levels”, I want to group it by the game ITSELF.
    3) A way to separate all the videos and other media content AWAY from the game content? I don’t care to be bombarded with movies or shows I have already seen, own, or have on netflix or Hulu. I go to the Playstation Store for GAME CONTENT

    I got a response from:
    Michael T.
    PlayStation® Technical Support

He didn’t answer a SINGLE question that I asked. He treated me like an idiot that couldn’t even click the game and then add on sections. Sony, I have decided that I will no longer make purchases from the PS Store. I don’t really care, and since you seem to NOT care about your customers you won’t be getting any money from me. I will just wait for GoTY editions to come out with all the DLC on the disc.

    BRING BACK BLUE!

  • looks nice, to bad its junk.
    it takes forever to load.
The lists aren’t sub-categorized well at all, if i go into addons, im probably looking for an addon for a game i own, not some random games list.
when the fastest way to find anything is to scroll through ALL GAMES, find the one game i want, and go into that games addons tab rather than just go to the addons tab on page 1! of the PS store you should know you screwed up.
way to mess with a system that already worked near perfect.

  • Yo Sony thanks for giving yet another triumphant pile of gold crap. You know what’s funny? 3rd party games find their Add one faster than yours. Have the effing games don’t even register that they have any. Have to search through lots of bulls**t to find ONE! Your store states their ISN’T any add ones but your Add on section has them! Way to go. No wonder why Japan is failing. Keep this up and apple or Microsoft can earn my money! This is from a dedicated Sony lover since 1996. Eff you too grace for defending it.
