  • One more mini rant.

Last week the big deal for plus (I dont count RE5, owned it since it was like 10$ for plus members a while ago, and it’s a really old game) was a deep discount on portal 2. Good discount, glad they’re coming back I hope.

But to give us a 12$ish deal for a ‘great’ puzzle game last week (I’m not a fan of puzzle games, and I tried and don’t enjoy portal, but I have no problem with other people loving them, I just didn’t find the fun part) and then this week our IGC game is… a puzzle game… really?

And of course not just any puzzle game, but one that people are repeatedly comparing directly to Portal.

So one week we get a discount on a puzzle game and the next week we get a very similar game in IGC…

Should we expect a completely puzzler themed month? Or is this just another example of bad timing/spacing of games and the lack of diversity we’re seeing in game type? (even when you change it to puzzler, you repeat yourself back to back weeks, not to mention last weeks IGC game is horror and shooter (and quite old)…. again.)

  • @ItaChu Dude, you no are even plus member. Shut your hole.

    • easy there kind sir. feedback is feedback whether you’re a Plus member or potential member. Debate, don’t hate.

  • for everyone whining/asking about PS VIta plus, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!! lol they said it would come in November…. November isnt over yet…. when December hits and we still dont have it or no news THEN you can star tasking questions… until then wait til this month is up

  • hey sony your about to loos ps+ member if you keep this up

  • I love the free plus content, full games and all, Sure i may have owned some of them, but the ones I didn’t were a great deal of refreshingly untapped content for me, I enjoy venturing outside my comfort zone, just because my favorite games in the world are Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls, that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy some free RE5 or LBP2 … or Quantum Conundrum which I’m extremely excited for, The woman and I are always trying to find those games we like to play together(usually quirky games such as portal2/katamari damacy, costume quest, pixeljunk’s entire library, plants vs zombies etc.), and had more fun with Portal 2 than anything in a long time. So because I haven’t bought Quantum Conundrum yet…. Sony is giving me and my wifey not only a game, but probably a few evenings of gaming time spent well, which some of us know, that when it includes our spouses, is priceless.

  • @Dark Funny, this was the best plus month in awhile. Keeping this up would be great im opinion, haha.

  • Fun choice in PS+ game of the “week”.

I would like to add a vote for more RPG games. I would also like to add a vote to PSP games for Vita.

The Library for Vita is not that vast. I think 30+ titles. I think selecting a PSP game or two would help in the spreading the wealth of Genre selection as well as help foster finding those rare gems that PS+ seems to be working on.

  • This is a pretty sweet drop. I’ve been eyeing Quantum for some time plus I like that it’s kid friendly. I know a lot of gamers are into Killzone, King of Fighters…ultra violent games and Plus has been reflective of that, but you have to give some love to those of us who are dads (moms too of course) who got little ones who can’t exactly play a game while you’re blowing off someone’s head off. By day I have to be playing Sly Cooper, Little Big Planet, and Jak. We have to be selective of those precious few hours at night as to what game we play.

I have my white Vita anxiously awaiting the release of plus. I do hope you include a PSP game. PSP still deserves some love now and then.

  • Thanks for the free game. I had fun with this demo too and it’s certainly a new genre so great choice.
Tempting discount on Machinarium too but I think that game will be great on the announced Vita version so I’m waiting for that.

Very excited about the Vita PS+ news. There aren’t many launch games I’m hoping to get for free, but there are many newer full retail Vita games that I’d love a big discount on. And I wouldn’t mind one bit if you gave us some PSP gems for free. It’d be a good way to give the RPG genre good representation in PS+. Random Suggestion: how about Puzzle Quest?

  • @morgan

great reply to popawheelie, that answered my and other users questions! i do understand that some DB’s won’t accept your answer, but they are the reason you guys are waiting tell 100% before you share things. thanks again.

sidenote: i cant wait for blops 2! anyone fellow oregonians getting that game add me!

  • All I know is that if that Plus content for Vita that I am supposed to love is going to be Little Deviants, then I am going to be pretty angry!

  • This is the puzzle game I was hoping for. Thanks Morgan!

  • ok based on op im funny but lets count how many more are sadden by the corp loses and game quality and management provided by sony the passed 4 month with the exception of very few games worth the publics time

  • @morgan

i hate to nitpick you, i am cuz you said i may have misunderstood you. here is your comment last week

“Plus on PS Vita content will be wrapped into this post as well and we’ll have more news to share about it very soon =)”

  • morgan how about a explanation to why specificlly you cant tell us any info

  • People complaining about the plus content, need to take into consideration… the following factors.

1.It’s optional, Sony never forces you to pay $50 for a year.(to chat with friends and play online)
note: unlike the competition, that does.
2.For that $50, Playstation is willing to devote themselves to offering up free content, and strike deals with third parties to offer killer deals or discounts, and free full games.
note: not an afterthought to a pre-defined fee of $50, moreover a directive.
3.my neighbor is here to use my computer so i’ll finish this later…

  • don’t be a politician and play head games with paying consumers

  • Morgan, You guys keep saying the will be new PS Plus Vita info “soon”, if new info isn’t going to be posted in a few minutes or hours then say it will be posted in a few days and/or weeks. It’s kind of leading people to believe that info will be posted that day when you say “soon”.

  • This has been such a great month for US Plus!

  • @kid whatever your name is.

Yes I’ve had plus since it started, half the reason (and I’ve always said this) that I bought it was for Qore. Most of what I like about plus (Qore, free themes, ps1 games, deep discounts on games to own, etc…) are now gone.

I don’t care about getting rental games, I didn’t sign up for plus to have a rental service, that’s what blockbuster and those kinda stores are for.

I didn’t read the rest of your post because anyone who starts by calilng me a liar isn’t worth reading.

I will say it’s pretty arrogant of you to claim to speak for all long time plus members. “Never” want to go back… lol!!!

Most of the older plus members I talk to, see post here and on other sites, etc… prefer the old style, no matter how many RENTAL games we get now.

  • been there done that and remember were talking about sony not a small town book store

  • How about we Plus members get the NEW Tekken Tag 2 game as a free PLUS download since it’s coming to the PS Store as of tomarrow they say!

That make a GREAT PLUS game!

  • Oh in case some people don’t realize.

One of the reasons we’re so eager for Vita info? There’s a few games, especially recently that I and others would certainly want to buy (plus more coming out).

But right now I’m not buying anything Vita related because we have no clue what Vita Plus will be, free games? Discounts? So until they give us solid information, it’s just hurting the Vita sales right now.

Just like I no longer buy most games that go on sale on the PSN since very very often those same games end up in the IGC within weeks and we feel ripped off. (although yes I prefer to own them vs rental).

  • I second what #107 said: though I like seeing family friendly puzzlers like Quantum Conundrum, it would be nice to finally get a great RPG in the IGC.

What’s this? Mass Effect 1 is coming out Dec. 4? Sounds like a great opportunity to push sales of ME2 and ME3 and all their DLC by offering ME1 for free (hint, hint).

  • #123 i would have to agree

  • Too bad Demon’s Souls isn’t on the psn store. That would also be a great rpg to give away. Also, last Christmas was when the first full PS3 game was given on Plus. Any chance for another surprise like that? Coughcoughafullmonth of fullPS3 gamescoughcough

  • I vote if so, Mirrors Edge and Twisted Metal for 2 of them.

  • Literally LOL’d at “(yay for more vague timeframe terms!)” BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA too funny :p

  • I’ve been wanting to try Quantum Conundrum out. Might as well start downloading the demo now so I can be ready to download the key tommorow.

  • I love how PS Plus mixes AAA titles, such as resident evil 5 and infamous, with some other “small” games, that otherwise you wouldn’t check.

  • Duke301’s words in post 111 couldn’t be truer. If by any chance Little Deviants is the highlight of the announcement for PS+ on the Vita that’d be a mighty disappointment.

  • We LOVE Portal and I had no idea that this game was similar. Looking forward to trying it out then!!!

  • Morgan can we please have the new GTA V trailer on the PSN when it comes out. and when will we be getting San Andreas they said on ign theat we will get it but don’t know when can you please help me out

  • Quantum Conundrum. Wow this is really good surprise.
    Please package one for me!

  • Still waiting for the Vita update :l

  • The more I think about it the more I’m hoping for a wide range of discounts on lots of Vita and PSP content. I loved the Halloween sale.

  • Everyone wait for vita plus :|

  • Thank you so much for this addition! I was planning to buy this game. I was waiting for a discount and now I’m going to receive it for free. Unbelievable. Thanks again.

  • This is awesome!!! Great free game guys. I certainly won’t be buying Mechanarium on yet *another* platform though. That game is amazing but I’ve paid for it several times already.

  • Not at all a jab, but it seems like the assignment for the composer of this trailer was “make it kind of like an instrumental Mr Blue Sky, but even happier.” If that’s what they were going for, they succeeded. :)

  • Really nice update. PS Plus in November has been pretty great so far. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Vita owners!

  • Hey Playstation just wanted to say how happy I’ve been with plus over the almost 3 years come june. Plus has given me so much since then and the service has really started to shine.

I do hope you guys dont repeat the same mistakes with the service for Vita before you had retooled with the IGC. What I mean mostly is the repeat titles that showed up every 8 months to a year in service. SPYRO series im looking at you.

Use clever and unique titles in place where you cant get a blockbuster or full title game on Vita like your doing with Plus now. You have to highlight the service as a great investment and not a grab bag of fair to poor titles that may or may not be better month to month. Maybe 1 full release title every 3-4 months even.

You have a very big chance to bolster your plus base these first 3 months especially with the game critics ready to pounce and dismiss away your earned reputation and good will with the service thus far since IGC. I’ll always be a fan and support your cause as long as you give me a reason to. Thank you for giving us the very best in gaming and consoles since 1995!

  • Alright so I’m going to be getting a Vita somewhat soon :D
What I’d like to know is will I be able to start “Collecting” games from PS+ through my PS3 Storefront via the Vita channel or do they have to be accessed from a Vita Storefront?
I’m not sure how soon I’ll be getting one and I don’t want to miss out on anything the Vita PS+ is going to offer

  • @Morgan

Will the Legacy of Kain games ever be playable on the Vita?

  • Yay! IKE!

    Great game selection, Morgan!

I’m officially back to being a happy US PS+ camper.

Though I do agree with some commenters. We can use some JRPGs in the mix. Don’t mind if it’s PSOne. You know I’ve been asking for Wild A.R.M.S for like, forever. But Legend of Dragoon is cool too. Breath of Fire IV. Parasite Eve. Chrono Cross.

On that note, there are some great JRPGs on the PS2 that we have yet to see on the store. Shadow Hearts, FFX and FFXII and FFXII-2. Wild A.R.M.S. 3.

  • Awesome job with getting Quantum Conundrum, but man is it disappointing to see another week go by without Vita’s PS Plus.

  • Oh, and just to chip in more pressure to you… PS+ for Vita!!!!! Launch it already!!! :P

  • Well looks like another game I already own so another crappy week of Plus. Well one more game to go for the month and I really hope it’s something good cause everything in the last 2 months has been garbage or I already own.

Also you need to get on with the Vita Plus. Telling us November gets us all thinking the beginning of the month. I have a feeling we won’t see it or any news till the last week of November. Just like the PSOne fiasco when we were told summer and than it ends up being almost the last day of summer.

The way Sony runs everything has really been pushing me away from them. It’s one reason I mainly play on my PC now. I’ve loaded up on more digital games from Steam for the less money than I have ever done for any console.

  • @boomstick: Plus games have always been rental style. I’ve also been a Plus member since Day one and did enjoy the old style better but games were never ours to keep. We did have a few but not all of them.
