With PS Vita’s enhanced controls – including front touch, rear touch, and six-axis motion sensors, this entry into the venerable WipEout series is one of the best. Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack (PS Vita)

One of the most unique and hilarious PS Vita titles also happens to be one of the best. A side-scrolling puzzle-platformer about an ornery mutant blob that, after being held captive in a lab that can only be described as something out of a retro sci-fi movie from the early ’50’s, escapes into the world and sets out on a path to consume everything. Use touch and the motion sensor functions combined with traditional analog stick controls to defeat the pathetic humans. Eat your way to freedom. It’s that fun.

Tag, grind, and trick to the beat in SEGA’s hit game Jet Set Radio on PS Vita. Free for PS Plus members the same day it releases; fight for control of Tokyo-to, mark your turf with graffiti, tag walls, billboards, and even rival gang members! Perform tricks and flips on magnetically driven in-line skates, but watch out for the local police force. They’re not nice.

  • I understand Vita titles can’t be played on a PS3 system but games come and go from the instant game collection and unless a Playstation Plus member purchases an expiring title for $0.00 from the the Playstation Store they would have to pay full price for it after it expires.

If a Playstation Plus member does not currently own a Vita can they still purchase all free Vita titles in the instant game collection so they can stockpile free games for when they own a Vita someday?

  • aaaaaaaaaaawwwwww MAN!!!!

3 days!!!! If I only knew about this 3 days ago!! I just bought Uncharted Golden Abyss at full retail price on Uruguai last friday!

In case you don’t know (and I guess most of you don’t), games here down south are very expensive. In Brazil where I live, it costs the equivalent to US$ 95,00. So when I saw it on Uruguai coming back from my honey moon at “only” US$ 65,00 I didn’t think twice.

    And now… THIS!!!! -.-

Well.. rage time over… excelent move from Sony! PS Plus was already a worthy service (I’m a subscriber since the first month), and now it just got better. Congratulations to Sony and if you still don’t have PS Plus, you are missing a lot.

Looking forward to what is in store for PS Plus regarding PS4! ^^

  • Not sure what other people would think about this but I suggest changing the games for free way more often on Playstation Plus. It would be nice if we could choose our own games that we wanted to play for free but that is going a little bit further. The list of free games available on Playstation Plus have been there for quite some time now and I would like to see something new much more often. Demos are another thing that I would like to see more of too. There are games that I wish I could atleast try before I buy. I like to think of others before myself and whatever is best for the community then that’s what it’ll be. Thank you for allowing me to post my suggestion.

  • @247. YES. As long as you are a plus member you just have to hit download on the checkout screen, then back out and the game will remain in your download list of games. So you can always go back and re-download it to your Vita at a later date fo free.

  • @236. Plus games come and go. Some last weeks, some last months. but as long as you have it downloaded on your download list, and reman a Plus member, you can play them. So if you do not have Plus now and will be getting it by Xmas, I suggest when your about to subscribe to plus, go to the PS+ section and it will show you all the available games as of that day. As long as the games are still free under the Plus section you can just go ahead and download the whole backlog.

  • I know that maybe my post will never be seen and that is not the appropriate time, but I wish Sony looked more for the Playstation Blog.Share section. So many ideas that could be easily implemented (like this https://share.blog.us.playstation.com/ideas/2010/03/18/sub-account-promotion/ ). There are so many ideas that have been already done, and they don’t even care to put the green banner saying that is already in action.

I have been waiting for this sub account problem to be solved so I can buy a Vita, but it seems that Sony really don’t care anymore.

  • Is this there thanksgiving sale? Will the prices be lower next week after cyber Monday?

  • Some good old Sonic to play with trophies, can’t beat that. Also the Dungeon game as well and Walking Dead ep. 5 coming too. What a week… Just finishing up on RE5 6 trophies until Plat so I am ready for some new content.

  • I’ve been waiting for discounts on Nights and Sonic Adventure 2. This is pretty sweet.

Will probably get Jet Set Radio as well just because.

Dungeon Defenders is a great addition as well considering Plus members got a lot of the DLC for free when it first hit :)

This is a great update. I may even check out music unlimited just because it comes in at $1 USD a month.

    Why not?

    As always, get update!

  • Expecting for the update… just a few hours

  • Humm, I don’t have PS vita yet. But, since I’m a PLUS member now, and these are being released for the portable, will I be able to use this instant game collection in my future Vita if I “purchase” them now trough my PS3? I mean, the same PLUS account is enough for both consoles, right?

    • Yes. This is on the Plus FAQ that we linked to on the blog, but you’ll be able to download content to your PS3 and transfer over later. But you will need to continue to be a Plus member of course to access content when you have your Vita

  • Heh Morgan thanks for clearing the issue about Resistance you are awesome. Besides you no one on this blog answers our questions like you, i think Rey put’s a post on the blog then goes to sleep because he never bothers to reply. But please tell Nic and Sid to check the releases before doing the show, because the annoucement about the Resistance Trilogy got alot of people exited for nothing. Besides that im very exited about the discount’s coming our way tommorow, keep up the great work guy’s and gal’s.

  • Sorry meant excited lol

  • great free vita games, i already have them though. But ill definitely check out sorcery for that price, thanks!

  • Great update. Happy to be a subscriber. Thanks.

  • When will we get more vita compatible psn games like zen pinball 2? Like turtles in time, renegade ops, games like that? Ready for these updates, cant wait

  • Hey Morgan idk if youll respond to this question since its on the last page but what ever happened to this?https://blog.playstation.com/2012/08/01/help-come-up-with-a-new-dualshock-3-design/ we as a community picked the original grey color for the ps1 and you guys said youd post something about the votes on August 16th but i havent seen anything since than is there any update on this?

  • Can i download the games on Vita and transfer it on my PS3? My internet at the office is faster than at home.

  • Finally, will be definitely a plus when the store alive.
As early adopter of course already play most of the games, they are ones of the best anyways and yhat’s good start for vita plus

  • Morgan, yet no news for PSN ports on Vita? Could you tell us if Sony is aware that it would be massively HEALTHY to the system having such selection? Those are games that would fit perfectly on the Vita, games like Jorney, Closure, Limbo, Doubke Dragon Neon, Okami, Soldner-X, Scott Pilgrim, Sonic Adventure 1/2, Marvel Vs Capcom Origins, SF3 and SSF2HD Remix, Unfinished Swan, Daytona USA, Virtua Fighter 5, Mark of the Ninja, Castle Crashers, and all of the other titles would simply boost the Vita library to a new and unprecedented standard. Are there too many technological difficulties preventing this from happening or is it just a matter of licensing the games for the system?

    • From what I understand, it’s no simple matter to just grab the code form these games and copy and paste them on to Vita. They’d require their own dev time and production schedules. Certainly not a bad idea though!

  • @261 QckslvrSpdr: +1, it has to happen as soon as possible, hopefully Morgan will give us a feedback on that soon.

  • Just to make sure, our PS Plus subscription is for both PS3 and PS Vita correct? As in they’re not separate subscriptions?

  • @266: Yes, your sub covers both PS3 and Vita.

@264: Speaking of that; I would absolutely LOVE to be able to play Shatter on my Vita, so I totally agree with ya.

  • It’s a bit strange to see Sonic 1 & 2 show up free for the 3rd time now.

    Does anyone know if these will be newly repacked under the S E G A V I N T A G E C O L L E C T I O N?

I am hoping because those are done much better (courtesy of M2). They give you 1:1 perfect pixel option
(NO BLURRING!) of any size/ratio of your liking
    + Scan-Line Emulation
    + unlimited save states
+ Jukebox player (plays all Sega Vintage Collection game soundtracks that you own)
    + configurable wallpaper backgrounds
    + instruction manuals
    + game movie creation/saving

I really hope Sega continues releasing these under the guidance of M2’s emulation. They are much superior to the previous releases. I just think the $5 price is a bit much. $2.50 would probably sell a heck of a lot more!

  • And the new firmware is up, I’m almost done with my install. :)

  • I’ve always wanted dungeon defenders & music unlimited deal is totally worth it. The sales are excellent as well, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas happy trails to you lalal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The update it’s now live in México

  • Bought a vita for this update, planning on getting a ps3 fairly soon as well. Much much appreciated sony thank you, among all the scumbag companies out there I hope you stay true to quality gaming.

  • Gotta say, you guys really impressed this time. So much I’ll be downloading/buying on sale that my ISP might try to throttle my speed. Worth every penny for PS+, keep it up bra’s.

  • Has ps+ kicked in yet for the vita when I go to download a gravity it is still asking for money

  • I really wish the plus would allow a free 3 months for every $80 spent on it etc I simply cant afford $50 at one time. Times be hard for us single dads :) I hate doing $20 for stuff that is only $50 for the year but it simply doesn’t fit in my budget. Regardless just throwing that out there. Im excited to get something for my vita.

  • Firmware 2.00 now available!!

  • This has nothing to do with the update, but checking the comments and seeing actual responses I have to say it… Morgan you are awesome.

  • the system update is now live on south america too, finally…

  • I wonder where we should leave bugs for vita firmware 2.0.

    Scenario:

When trying to sign in with my gmail account – which has 2 step verification enabled – error code is present and i am unsuccessful.

However, when I create an authorized gmail account password from my account settings in gmail for my psvita login is successful.

  • so, i can tranfer my plus games from vita to my PC ? cus i only have one 4 gb memory card and i don’t know when i’ll get a better one

  • I gotta say a big Thank you Sony you have really made owning a PS3 and a Vita enjoyable.I have been a die hard Playstation fan since the PS1 and have had each system since. Every thing just keeps getting better with each unit. The features and games you keep adding are great. I have been on the xbox side for a very short time and never recieved a fraction of what I get from you guys. Thank you for thinking about us,and keep up the fantastic work!

  • psvita firmware 2.00 is now live and installed on my system!

  • Could someone post a link to the full update features page. I can’t find it. Thanks

  • When is Flash player support coming?

  • Soooo… Not to beat the dead horse, but I figure now is a good time to ask. The PSP isn’t going to get any new games. It’s nice that we can play a few PSP games on the Vita too, even if it doesn’t include the whole library. Considering that, I think it’s safe to say that PSP system sales are dwindling.

The PSP still has a cavalcade of brilliant titles though. The Playstation 3 and Sony would benefit greatly if PSP games were allowed to be played on the system. It would bring a second wind of PSP game sales on PSN too. As someone who still regularly plays tons of PSP games, I would love the option to play on a big screen.

  • So, I’ll be able to get Uncharted as well as some other cool Vita games? That’s awesome. I’ve always wanted to try that Music Unlimited program. For 12 bucks, I can’t turn that down. Plus the final episode of Walking Dead? Tuesday is about to become a very awesome day.

  • GTA IV
    Fat Princess
    Cuboid
    Magic Orbz

Would be a good to Instant Game Collection

  • Nice offers but I still want to see PS Plus discounts for just released titles.

  • Just did the update….Mail app is cool, browser rendering seems MUCH better. NEAR is smoother….overall the whole system just seems snappier..

Excited for tomorrow, proud to be a Vita owner since 12:01 on launch day!!

  • Morgan Haro for the next update can you please tell your team to add assistive touch to the home button because my home button is already getting really loose. It would be very much appreciated if you could.

  • Hi Morgan Haro thanks for your time on answering all the questions twice.I can’t wait till tomorrows store update Viva La Vita

  • Heads up guys the update is live!!!!!!!!!!

  • Simply the best investment a gamer can make.

  • amazing update for Vita owners, I bought mine at the perfect time it seems (2 weeks ago, AC bundle). I have a request though, you guys should allow ps3 owners to see when their Vita owning brothers are online, whenever I’m online on my Vita I can see when ps3 users are online and what they are playing, yet they can’t see me? I don’t even appear as online, I am completely invisible for whatever reason. It is under the same account so they should be able to see me as well. Other than that you guys are awesome and thanks for the great update.
