Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack (PS Vita)

One of the most unique and hilarious PS Vita titles also happens to be one of the best. A side-scrolling puzzle-platformer about an ornery mutant blob that, after being held captive in a lab that can only be described as something out of a retro sci-fi movie from the early ’50’s, escapes into the world and sets out on a path to consume everything. Use touch and the motion sensor functions combined with traditional analog stick controls to defeat the pathetic humans. Eat your way to freedom. It’s that fun.
Jet Set Radio (PS Vita)

Tag, grind, and trick to the beat in SEGA’s hit game Jet Set Radio on PS Vita. Free for PS Plus members the same day it releases; fight for control of Tokyo-to, mark your turf with graffiti, tag walls, billboards, and even rival gang members! Perform tricks and flips on magnetically driven in-line skates, but watch out for the local police force. They’re not nice.

  • Hi, I have two questions: 1) I already have all those free with Plus Vita games except Jet Set Radio, but I would really love to be able to play Gravity Rush and Wipeout without carrying around the gamecards. You had said that certain games might be able to transfer the save to the digital version, could you elaborate on this please or provide a list of games that this would work for?
    2) As a Plus member can we buy multiple years of Music Unlimited at $12 at once like we can with PSN+ subscriptions? I wouldn’t have thought about it at $99/year but at this price I think I’ll try it out! Again, thanks for the update!

  • well shoot i might just have to get a vita bundle then, won’t i?

  • Awesome !!!! Great games and features like this is why I have been a Plus member from day 1. It is also another reason why the PS3 is the main system I play. Keep up the good work guys !

  • Hello, just want to confirm a few little things if somebody willing to explain it to me..
With the update, can I purchase the Playstation Plus from the VITA?
Or I still need to purchase it from the PS3 or the Playstation Plus code.
Cause I only own the VITA and updated it but yet did not found any Plus subscription option from the Playstation Store.
Or am I getting the wrong idea when it says Plus available for VITA?

  • i may not have a vita yet but i will definitly add games to the list. my plus expires though, but when i re-activate it (when i get a job) will i be able to play the games i bought previously when i was a plus member?

  • Quick question: I can download these vita games as a plus member even though I don’t have a Vita right? I’m looking to get one cheap in the coming months. So I can download these to my ps3 now and transfer over later as long as I’m a plus member?

  • You all are making it hard to resist purchasing a PS Vita this Black Friday.

I usually like to wait at least a year before buying a new system, because usually you start hearing about all the problems the company needs to work out. The first ones on the selves are usually the most unreliable. This is not just a Sony issue. BUT, I haven’t heard anything (or anything major) about Vita breakdowns or issues. It really sounds like a solid handheld.

Heck, I’m already hearing about Wii U problems.

    Cheers!

  • looking forward to Plus on Vita.

  • Man, if ya keep that Music Unlimited price at between 12-60 bucks, I may get tempted to drop that Zune Subscription aka XBOX MUSIC. So, hook it up Sony and I’ll jump ship :) For now, I’ll just take that special and see what’s it all about ;)

  • Glad I didn’t buy Sonic Adventure 2 yet. :D No separate sale on the DLC for Hell Yeah? :/ I hate when you do that stuff.

Shame the developers of Dungeon Defenders supported consoles so badly. There’s tons of great new content, that we’ll never see.

  • Question about the Music Unlimited yearly subscription special. Do I have to wait until my monthly subscription is about to expire or will it ‘stack’ like a plus subscription. Also, can I purchase say two years or more on this deal?

  • playstation plus is the reason I bought a Vita

  • Great update…still, do you know if there are going to be any PSP games available on plus anytime soon? Thanks…

  • After this update and the release of Persona 4 The Golden, I’m thinking a lot about getting a Vita!!

  • great day to be a Playstation gamer! btw this PS Vita FW 2.00 is weird the E-mail app is not very functional (pure text) and the Web browser is taking longer to load, but hey at least now I can post on the blog from my Vita now!

  • awesome.nice update … Sine Mora got best offer or free~~ hehe….:)

  • Lol, this really makes me wish I had a PS Vita!

Anyways, I can’t get one anytime soon, but I’m glad that we got Sonic and Dungeon Defenders for the PS3! :D

    Loving PS+ as always :)

  • Morgan why is it so hard to add ps1 classics for ps vita every week? How come Crash Bandicoot and Spyro titles still isn’t there after 3 MONTHS?

  • What about Asia? I brought a year of play station plus in Asia PSN but later seeing all the free games the US and EU server is giving made me depress. PS+ in Asia offer too little compare to the other don’t you think?

  • @ Morgan, WTH dude, you’re still answering the same 2 questions past midnight? I just saw a new red post pop in. I hope you at least get to work from home!

I’ve already used cloud save. It looks like only Vita games & apps can be saved, not PSP, based on my initial attempt. Disappointing but not a deal-breaker. Big day for Vita tomorrow!

  • Christmas Wish on playstation plus:

    1) Kingdom Hearts

    …That’s it.

  • whos playing allstars?!? i am!!!!!! lol

  • Sweet update. Im really glad you guys finally got ps+ on the Vita. $12 for one year of music unlimited it a steal, I just hope I remember to disable auto renew.

Oh by the way, the new browser for the Vita is super slick. I’m using right now Before the update it took any page here at the blog about ten minutes to load. Great job.

  • Man I am super pumped about this. PS+ on the Vita. Some awesome return on early vita adopters. Awesome times Sony!

Let keep our fingers crossed that we’ll see ps2 games on the vita soon. I have a Vita cradle I just might buy a subscription to music unlimited.

  • Sony is rocketing on all cylinders… way to build up the install base; especially leading into the next generation of consoles. #Make.BelieveInSony

  • Is there going to be the same for euro store?

  • @34 I_Montano_I not if you bought one when you got your vita (like I did)

  • Gotta say, while the initial Vita+ lineup is mostly games I already own, getting Wipeout for free is totally worth it, as I just couldn’t justify spending more than $15 on it when I already have HD+Fury on PS3. However, another one of my friends just bought the Vita+AC3:L bundle about a week ago, and joined PS+ as well after seeing what it was bringing to the Vita. So while it’s taken a bit for the system to hit its stride, I’ve gotta say, it seems to have finally nailed it. Hopefully we’ll start seeing sales pick up and the device will start getting the support and development it deserves from third-party publishers.

  • Man, oh man. You’re repeating free games? Come on, is the ps3 plus dead already? what’s next? you´re gonna give me Farcry 2? Again?
I know this is a week for Vita, but i’m very disappointed. Was expecting at least something useful for the ps3, and, bogus. And the worst part is, you’re not giving any games, you’re renting it. so, if i dislike the service, and don’t continue subscription, – because hyou’re starting to game free games that you already gave! – i will lose the good games that there was (once) available.

  • love the update, is there a way or will there be a way to download vita games from the ps store using the pc? i dont own a ps3 and download over wifi from the vita kills my battery life with huge game like uncharted which is 3.3gb. it would be awesome if i could just download the game using a PC and then after download just transfer it over. a bit like media go used to do for the psp…. is this something u would implement in the future?

  • Finally! Waiting here…

  • Waiting for the store update!

  • By the way, the PS+ deal on Music Unlimited is wonderful. I really like the service, but turned off auto-renew a week ago because I don’t use it often enough to justify the monthly cost. This yearly stuff is much more my speed, and it’s a fantastic deal too.

  • @324: Why don’t you just keep your Vita plugged in while downloading? I liked Media Go’s way of things better too, and really REALLY hope they bring something like that back for Vita. But until then, we have to deal.

@323: Not everyone was a member when they were given out. Stop being so selfish. I’ve been a member since the beginning, and I have no problem with it. Then again, I’m not unreasonable.

  • I updated my Vita to version 2.00 and… PS Plus isn’t available for purchase. Why?

  • @329: I noticed that too. Should be available on the store when it updates this afternoon. I couldn’t wait though, just bought a code on Amazon instead :P

  • why are we getting sonic 1 & 2 again?

  • Anyone having issues setting up their yahoo email in the Vita’s email app? I have the same problem on my Sony tablet.

Not sure what’s wrong with what I’m doing. Type out my password a bajillion times slower and double check it all the time.

Anyone with some tips on how to get this ish to work will be awesome.

  • totally stoked about this althought I thought sony would never add vita to playstation plus…….

  • PLEASE ADD REMOTE PLAY WITH PS3 GAMES ON THE PS VITA SO I CAN PLAY MY PS3 GAMES ON THE PS VITA THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE ON IT AT LAUNCH ANY WORD OR INFO ON IT?

  • @328 i used to keep my vita plugged it an download until my vita recently got problem. from what they told me, overcharging or something like that burned an IC component on vita which caused it turn off spontaneously or not turn on at all. and from what i read from many forum, keeping the vita on while charging causing some problem like overheating and stuff.

charging the vita while downloading is not ideal. also i would like to download games while playing my vita, i dont want to sit near a power cord all the time. and while u can download games and play at the same time, some vita titles disable wifi while u play, such as uncharted used to do or gravity rush and thus thats not ideal also.

it would be awesome if we PC users could download games and just transfer over. or update media go to be able to do so. a psp can do that , why cant a ps vita, thats my logic.

  • That Music Unlimited deal is fantastic.

  • now we need a video unlimited subscription deal lol

  • When are you going to put out an update that allows us to edit games in our trophy list? Looking at it is like being reminded of all our mistakes!

  • new games are coming out and they look awsome to play can’t wait

  • Things I like in this update: Sonic 1 and 2 Bundle, really bundling two of the best games of all time. Yes please. NOM NOM I’ll gobble that up. Haha All ready have Sonic 1 on Genesis (the almighty cartridge) but I’ll gladly buy the bundle on PSN. Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown Complete Edition! YES! I hate having to buy DLC seperately cuz it’s annoying and I wanted a complete game, now we have this complete ediiton and I can finally buy it will all that dlc without paying double the amount. PLEASE keep this on here forever. :) wanna get Nights and the Hell Yeah Bundle also Sonic adventure 1 and dlc bundle… I’ve been waiting for that. I don’t believe in buying a game that doesn’t come out with something it should’ve had from the start. So this makes it a lot easier. Thanks Sony. Also if I had a Vita, I’d totally get Uncharted: GA and Gravity Rush (please make a sequel on PS3).

  • Am I the only one who feels a little put off by Sonic 1 and 2 being the free games for PS3 Plus, when they were on here for free less than a year ago (along with other Genesis games)? Are we cycling through the games already, or was this just an oversight? EU seems to constantly get better releases for Plus members. I’m not usually one to complain, but when the game offered was on here in the last year, it makes me feel like the value is starting to dwindle on Plus.

  • will my vita have to be loged in to the playstation network , inorder to to play these free plus games, (when i on the go etc.)

  • Nice to see the attention the Vita is getting – hope SCEA can keep the momentum going! If it does, will be hard to resist PS+

FYI – https://blog.playstation.com hasn’t been updated yet to show 2.0 as the current FW release

  • Why the NEW STORE not work with the remote control on psvita??

    Is really frustrating.
