I am one of the people who voted for it. For people who actually buy games and don’t rely on Plus for their collection it was bad month. Had every game I was interested in expect for Jet Set Radio for Vita. The Vita collection was just to sell Vitas because everyone who already owns has those games. Who owns a Vita and doesn’t already have Uncharted and Gravity Rush?

As for this update, all i can say is wow! Easily one of the worst I can remember. My favorite part of Plus is the discounts but these were disappointing. Hopefully December will better. I am still happy about Plus and will renew for sure.

Also, LOL at all the people who pay $50 a year for Plus but expect $100 a week in free stuff.

  • Expected that this week wasn’t going to be no where near as good as the last week but it’s not horrible. The good games that are discounted were previously given away for free as part of Plus and the others aren’t very good at all, so I suppose it is decent for new Plus members.

  • The discount themselves are great, just the quality of the games for the most part are well below par. Would be great to see some PS Plus bundles or deals on DLC for games that will be or are currently in the IGC.

  • Honestly, this update isn’t really good. I might look into a couple of those games though.

But I think this month has been phenomal! It would have been a great month with RE5 alone. The awesome Instant Vita collection pushed me over the fence, and I finally purchased a Vita which made this the phenomal month that it was. I don’t care for AC 3, but I’m having fun playing Uncharted: Golden Abyss.

I wish the Vita bundle included Persona 4. Oh well, I guess that is neither here or there.

But I do have a serious question. Whenever you add a new Vita game to Plus; will that count as one of the three games coming out in a month? Or is it a seperate deal?

    Cheers!

  • I wasn’t able to become a PSN+ member until the end of October. I’m not complaining about what’s been released so far between then and now. Not much that has been released so far has interest me. I can’t afford a vita to take advantage of that. I’m not asking for anything to cater to me. It’d be nice to have something like twisted metal, or one of the killzones or maybe even mass effect 3 by chance? PSN+ is the only way I personally am able to play any games. (i respect playstation a lot I won a free copy of all stars battle royale off of the @playstation twitter)

my post is not complaining about what we’ve been given. I appreciate the time and effort that goes behind everything. You can not please everyone, it would never happen. If you made everything on the psn store free for 3 days, people would still complain. Anyway, keep up the good work!

  • Overall, it was a good month, despite the fact that I’ve already owned RE5 and the Lost in Nightmares DLC for quite a while now (Why are we giving away games like RE5, a game with nearly 5 million units sold on PS3 alone, for free again?). The vita content was a great surprise, and makes me almost want to buy a Vita, and Quantum Conundrum is a good game. One suggestion I have would be to have a few polls either in the middle of the month or the end of the month, each with various games that you guys could POSSIBLY give to PS+ members. This could help prevent all the whiners from complaining, and possibly satisfy more people as it would be a community vote of what game or games could be added to the IGC. Obviously this might cause more complaints, as the games you guys choose for the polls might just continue to create more whiners complaining because you guys didn’t put the recently released BIG HUGE GAME X2 in the poll, but hey, at least it gives us a choice. I for one would have loved to have been able to vote against RE5 being put in the IGC (again, this is a game that was even on the top ten list of the most platinumed games on the PSN, so why did we get this over so many other games that aren’t that common?)

  • Can you please please release more PSOne classics in the Vita store. People haven’t forgotten, you know. It’s been more than a month since there was a significant release of PSOne games, and we still have far less than those in Europe. It can at least make up for the lack of Vita games release in the coming months. Don’t just use PS+ as a one time excuse to divert our attention away from past promises.

  • Question: Will the Untold Legends games work on the Vita?

  • Hey Morgan H., let me start off by thanking you your blog posts. Detailed info yet to the point; very much appreciated buddy. This would be my first comment ever on this site but have been a ps3 fan for sometime now Just recently became a plus member thanks to your posts.
I have to admit I look forward to your posts every monday. Lately however It seems the PSN are getting wackier and wackier. I dont know if you have any pull on what games are to come next or not but before i come across as another ungrateful gamer, lol, let me try and justify my point: when compared to the releases from Europe, it really seems like they are getting a better deal than we are n frankly i tend to wonder why we get different games than us to begin with. I hope you could shed some light on that point. I know I’m not the first person to bring it up but i cant seem to find a response anywhere on here so I hope i was direct enough to get a good response from you.
In the meantime I thank you again for the work you do n hope you enjoying your holidays

  • This is a bad update and you should feel bad.

  • hopefully they won’t give pinball arcade for free in a couple of month , usually when it goes on sale next step is to give it free , don’t let my avatar fool you i have plus on my other account ,

decisions decisions decisions should i buy pinball arcade or feel burnt when they give it free

  • Well, I liked everything, so I just can’t vote for only one.

Oh, and I want to ask something, there will be someday anime avatars?
I mean, in the japanese store they have a lot, and I would love to have a Homura avatar -for example- . On the same topic: why sometimes some avatars are different in different stores? Like the Neptunia mk2 avatars, the north american ones are like close-ups of the european ones.

  • Morgan H said: I may be biased, but for Vita owners, the PS Plus reveal in November was huge news; so I’d say Nov was a pretty strong month for Plus =)

I may be biassed too… I have no Vita and I’m not interested in getting one.

Total worth of all the Vita games to me = 0$.

Actually, I’m worried that adding Vita support will actually mean we will get even less quality in the free PS3 games area. Now the service we are getting for 50$ a year is going to be spread 50/50 between PS3 and vita. That means at least half of what’s released on there will be worthless to me.

So tell me again, why should I care that for the Vita owners it was ‘huge’?

Can I opt out of Vita content and pay less? That would be good news.

  • Also, will we ever get those Neon Genesis Evangelion avatars like what the Japanese store has? I would buy those in a heartbeat, but they have been in the JP store for a year now and still haven’t been brought over…..

  • @ Angelon49er:

I think the confusion between it ending on the 26th or 27th is due to inconstant update times on PSN Store.

I imagine you need to have spent $60.00 BEFORE the store updates tomorrow.
I honestly wouldn’t take my chances with this. Even though I plan on buying games tomorrow I went ahead and bought another $30 worth of games today just to make sure I didn’t get hosed on this.

  • @mainkster:

I agree about Pinball Arcade. It would be a slap in the face for us Plus fans who bought the game and all of the DLC at full price. If they want to give away a pinball game, make it Pinballtastik :P

  • Who opened the flood gates for all the crybabies whining about Plus? I want Sony to know that there are people out there who actually appreciate Plus to no end. All the turds in here who expect every game to be free were raised poorly. They are spoiled brats who can’t stand not having anything free handed to them for a whopping entire week. I doubt any of these people have played and completed every free game they received from Plus, which just shows they want “MOAR!!!”

  • Does the psp version play on the vita.

  • I meant the psp version of Peggie play on the vita?

  • @Morgan
    1st post on the blog

hi there & thanks for being up front and honest with your fellow gamers on psn
i joined plus on oct as the buzz of plus was hard to ignore and i said let me
try it for 3 months ,so far i’m very impressed by plus and for me now its a
must have not because of the free games but for the discounts and free time
trail of games. i will leave you with a list of games that i already have but
i want the digital version of it , im hoping will see some plus discount on by
    Dec or after:

1- Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition
2- Red Dead Redemption & Undead Nightmare
    3- Battlefield Bad Company 2
    4- Max Payne 3
    5- Fight Night Champion
    6- Batman: Arkham City

finally i really regret missing out on playstation plus promotion ,any hope
of a return for limited time only ?

  • @morgan_haro hello, i definitively pay for my service and cause others didnt get the games free doesnt mean they get a chance now to purchace them half off i mean seriously i bought 1st oddworld game last tuesday in the afternoon and at night it was free on ps plus. i mean i have to suscribe again im surprised you speak for all of them but why arent all ps classics for vita as well as the minis.you say goals you speak as if it is impossible to add digital games in a system remmeber theres hackers that could do much more but you guys the “PROS” cant smh i would have been quiet but im not the only one who feels like this.i sold my ipad2 on march 06 on my bday to buy a vita i saw potential but you guy are lazy and make your money anyways is not like you n i mean if it where the situation there would be nothing like the vita but no and europe is still ahead of us.i seen people play mgs4 thru remote play how come we cant smh thank you for your time i also spent probably more than 60 bucks online this month i hope dec.06/12

  • @Garigandeljey
Nice words 217. You just said it. Sad but true.

  • The selection of games discounted this week is definitely yawn-worthy, but the debut of PS Plus on Vita – and the Instant Game Collection along with it – was so phenomenal that November ended up being one of the best Plus months of the year, probably only second to the debut of Instant Game Collection on PS3.

So, yeah – my vote went to Vita’s Instant Game Collection, and I hope to see more PSP gems (JRPGs!!!!) added in the coming months.

On an unrelated note – I would pay an ungodly amount of money to see Mega Man Legends and Mega Man Legends 2 added to PSone Classics, AND playable on Vita.

  • crybabies???? whinners???? hopefully they give you something for the ***kissing because if you dont complain nothing can will happen i wouldnt talk about crying and whining because if you ever feel like protesting make sure you dont cause that is in fact whining and crying btw i do think ps plus is awesome i wouldnt dumped xbox360 if it not where for mgs4 and ps plus btw i have update 2.0 for the vita i still havent seen it online yet.i just want to play with every ps classic on vita i have the right to B**** is what paying for service is like DEMAND if not free inbreeds

  • @garigandeljey you act like the games are praise worthy stop eating turds fecal matter is bad for the diggestive system. me raised better than you for sure. i work minimum wage i know every cent i spend is worth the sweat of my brow, cant say the same for you being i personally pay for my ps plus meaning that yes i expect free games i mean their not even truly free cause when my subscribtion is over i have no access to it, free is those mma videos only spoiled people could nevermind the fact this is a paid service

  • Will valkyria chronicles be included in tom sale? It is still $39.99… and when will it be available on the PSN for Vita? I don’t have a PS3 to transfer it over =(

  • Would it be possible if someday we can choose the games we want for free. I would like to get Plus but I already played or am not interested in the particular titles you have. I think a lot of people would like this idea. Another suggestion is switching up all the free games each week too.

  • SONY did well for the widow’s son by giving RE5 Gold Edition and the PS Vita free games debut. Nobody thought they would get an ultimate edition and SONY managed to exceed our expectations.

  • Woah woah woah, no free games? And even the games with discounts aren’t that good. A while ago I heard Just Cause 2, Crysis 1 and a Tomb Raider game are coming to Plus for free, when are those gonna arrive?

  • Morgan, I was also wondering, will black Ops 2 be available for purchase n download like the BF3, MoH etc? also dont forget about my previous question about will we be getting any of the games that Europe Plus members get?

  • Wow, after another HUGE week last week, the complainers are at it again.

    You can never win….

Glad most people on here appreciate what a great investment PS+ has been, the other people are definitely in the SLIM minority.

  • I must say this sale is extremely disappointing, which is all good because I’m already tapped out from PC digital game sales on Steam, Amazon, Green Man Gaming, GamersGate.

Even last weeks ultimate editions sales were a joke compared to what PC gaming had to offer. I mean a one year old Assassins Creed Revelations for $40? Or Deus Ex and Mass Effect 2 for $28? I don’t think so.

Just compare your digital prices with some of the sweet PC deals I managed to snag this past week. Dishonoured for $22, XCOM for $25, Max Payne 3 at $12, Spec Ops The Line at $9, Mass Effect Trilogy for $29, Deus Ex for $5. Heck I even got Kingdoms of Amalur with both DLC for only $12 while PSN was asking for $59.99 for the base game itself!

I literally saved hundreds of dollars from buying all these games for the PC instead of PS3. It seems like you guys were not even serious in giving us awesome deals. It’s Black Friday remember?

  • This week is not so cool linke the others, but its the last week of the month, i think than december we will see more wonderful games, like some psone classics and pspgames, don’t forget of the vita and some dlc for the ps3 games please…….

  • Hey Morgan, My playstation has been in for service, is there any way I could get more time for that spent $60 in the PSN and get $10 back refund? If you like you can look up my services to see that my playstation 3 was in for service, it should be back by this Wednesday, but there wouldn’t be much time. I know I missed a lot of play time waiting on my playstation to return, Can’t wait! Oh yeah, one more question, When I do get my playstation back I thinking about putting in a 1TB harddrive to expand my PS space, Is this possible?

  • i f**kin love your updates they get better and better

  • especially the vita since i just got it

  • Morgan. The plus stuff this month was stellar! I must admit nothing on this sale intrigues me but I still love you guys (and girls) And thanks to you and the team for correcting the Alice Bundle.

  • Whoa, when did Sideway (or “Sideway CD”, as I keep viewing it) go down to five bucks? I remember getting it at launch for three (if not, two) times as much, maaaybe with a Plus discount.

Anyway, that’s about the only game of that set that jumps out at me. I like Bejeweled, but with Blitz on Facebook/mobile/LIVE and 3 on…most everything, taking a step back doesn’t look appealing, especially when the game’s best with a cursor/touch controls. And wasn;t Slam Bot Scrappers released just some months ago? Ouch.

TerRover maybe, though I have other platformers on the backburner, and might would Peggle if it was under-two-bucks cheap.

On that note, would voting for the SEGA discounts include the $1.00 games? That was a neat little promo. If it wasn’t for already having platinum’d Portal 2, I might would’ve gone with that. I’d kinda just go with Quantum Conundrum (as infuriating as platforming in that game is, since this kid jumps like a hare), but let’s say the SEGA dealios.

  • I have a question I hope someone can help me with. I have been a Plus subscriber for a little while and got a new PS slim a few days back, I redownloaded everything fine except for a couple of issues. The Starhawk single player campaign appears to not be available for download anymore. Also when I try to redownload Pacman CE it shows it is there but when I try to download it gives me an error that it is not available. Is anyone else running into this issue? I played them before so I know I unlocked them.

  • @232 NLMX85-USA – Hear, hear!

  • I know you guys probably can’t have free games every update, but it seems to have been a minute since some smaller PSN games. Also classics are always appreciated.

  • Morgan,

Its not related to ps plus or this post, however its related to the store. A couple of months ago when Super Stardust HD full game was free for ps plus users i was able to download it and install it on my PS3, i reformat my HDD and i download it again but it does not let me install it the same game, i tripled checked that it was the right Super Stardust. Can you please give me an advice on how to make it work on my ps3

  • @239 & 242 – Go to your Download List (either at the bottom of the first list in the Store or through Account Management on the XMB). Some of the Store pages don’t properly show your ‘ownership’ of an item, so it’s off to scrolling through the D/L List. Since there’s no search or sort function, you’ll have to work backwards through your purchases, most recent to least recent.

A pain, but that’s how things are.

  • im a huge jrpg fan and i am sad to see how most of the free games are action. i would be really happy if a need for speed game or hyperdimension neptunia mk2 was free next month. the vita games are great, but i dont own a vita anymore (plus the cards are expensive for my budget, no job, trying to get one though). i really want to see jrpg as free games every once in a while though, instead of them being left out.

  • @243 Thanks so much for the help! I should’ve thought of that but didn’t. Thanks again!

  • Morgan: First – I want your job.

Second – I would love to see more attention paid to some of the titles in the PS3 catalog that didn’t sell phenomenally, but were excellent regardless. There have been a couple early, launch-window titles recently, but I don’t know anyone who was ever clamoring for Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom.

Specifically, I want to see Folklore on PS+. It was amazing, and nearly nobody has played it. And how about Heavenly Sword? The game was fantastic, Nariko was a wonderful character, and had the game come out a bit further in the PS3’s lifetime it probably would have done better – it wouldn’t have needed to be the poster child for “games-that-are-too-short,” despite that being a trend among AAA titles this gen.

I’m loving PS+, look forward to every Tuesday as a result, and can’t wait for what lies ahead.

Oh, and how about Day-1 pre-loading?

  • Is there a way to buy content we got free on PS+? I’d like to take advantage of some savings sometimes to make sure I have access to a game forever if I for some reason don’t renew plus. But I don’t know.

I voted for Music Unlimited discount. That was a HUGE value saver, and got me back into my lapsed membership! :D

I also liked Quantum Conundrum, and SEGA discounts.

I didn’t vote for Vita, since I owned literally all the games possible. It was a great selection though, but there were so many other things that I enjoyed that I had to go with Music Unlimited. Same thing with Dungeon Defenders, glad the game will get more players, but I already had it. I didn’t mind you releasing Sonic again either, but some people have had issues with getting the bundle if they have one game. I hope you resolved that, if not I hope you keep the bundle up until you do fix it.

  • @ Donkeykong Killa: You’re playing RE5 wrong. That first part you aren’t SUPPOSED to fight the zombie horde. You are supposed to run. They don’t give you enough ammo to fight them off until you beat the game and can start a new game with an infinite ammo magnum or something. Then by all means shoot the crap out of them…

  • Man, would love to see some of these games on the Vita. Especially Peggle and Bejeweled!

  • and just like that, vita and psp killed +.
