I’m looking for top-o-the-line PS3 games in my instant game collection. The only game like this in quite some time is Resident Evil 5, and I don’t care for that genre. So it’s been awhile since there’s been something good for me in PS+, other than the slight discount on NFS: Most Wanted.
Currently there’s only four top-shelf games in the Instant Game Collection, one I don’t care about, and two have been there a long time (Infamous 2 and LBP 2), and the fourth I already purchased (R&C), and has been there for some time, too.
I heard a rumor that Uncharted 1,2, and 3 are going to be free in December, care to comment.
Also if Uncharted 3 is being added to the store any info on how big it is (Ive heard around 37Gigabytes or so)
I hope my previous post didn’t come off as unduly harsh or anything, just wanted to point out the value proposition between digital games on PSN vs on PC. I know you have to placate retail but then again they are also eating your lunch with used game sales.
You really should approach the publishers and get them to agree to some crazy priced digital sales on PSN (seeing as they themselves are giving huge discounts for PC) as a test run. See if they make more or less money.
Not sure if Plus just isn’t working properly on the PS Vita yet, but I thought that the system would be able to turn itself on and download patches, etc… much like the PS3. I did notice that it updated when I left the PS Vita on, but I ussually leave it off if I am not going to use it for the rest of the day. Another note about the PS Store is that the PS Vita channel displays PSP demo when it does not support them. Also, titles that aren’t PS Vita games are still on the list such as Tomba… yes PS1 classics can be played on PS Vita but it is still a PS1 classic.
@255: Um, it’s OFF. Your PS3 doesn’t turn on if you switched it off in the back either. It’s in standby otherwise. Same thing with Vita. It has to be standby.
Anyone know if here in U.S. will be able to pre-order FarCry3 soon on the ps store ????????????? Australia does. Need to know AsAp ! Or I will have to pre-order elsewhere.
This week is not that good, but november was quite a good month for Plus.
It would be nice to see in december’s plus updates some discounts (or even if it’s possible, in IGC), some of PS3 classics, like Uncharted 1, Infamous 1, etc.
You complainers are total babies. Last week and the week before were completely phenominal, and you’re crying because these discounts aren’t “good enough for you”? I’m sorry, what is WiiU giving you for free this week? You paid $50 for XBlah, what discounts has it given you today?
Can we get confirmation that the $10 off $60 promotion ends tonight at 11:59PST? That is what the website says, but the blog earlier said Monday. Want to pick up the discounted Pinball Arcade after the update today to push me over the $60 hump.
I’d rather see classic PS1/PS2 games added and free/discounted than ridiculously old PSN games (half of which are mediocre at best) put up on a discount..
Plus is great, promotions like this just feel like Sony is trying too hard to offer something ‘great’ when they could just stick with what’s been working.
I hope Morgan sees this, being so far back into the page count….

I agree its better than nothing, for new people, HOWEVER…you have to realise that for recuring anual subscribers, this actually lowers the quality/value of PS+, as we are getting recycled content, which in effect lowers the value of PS+ in anual subscribers eyes, while maintaing the value for casual subscribers.
Now dont get me wrong, I’m not suggesting, that new subscribers should get shafted on old deals just because their new, but there NEEDS to be two teirs on PS+, one for new subscibers, that allows older previously offered PS+ content to be thrown into the mix, to give them a shot as previous deals.
AND
A recuring subscribers tier that does not continue to recycle old content that we have already gotten, effectivly lowering the quality/value on the anual subsctiptions.
I know it was stated before (directly to a comment made by me) that there would NOT be two tiers of PS+…but something needs to be done.
**Side Note*
Can you guys figure out a way for PS+ subscribers to BUY content that we have recieved for free, while we are subscribers? There are many sales/deals that PS+ subscribers are forced to miss out on, because several months prior we got a game as a freebie, but then a PS+ discount is given months down the road on that same title.
Which again follows suit to the previous situation. If someone is a PS+ subscriber, sure they may get a game they want as a freebie, however, not only to show support to the developers, but to also actually own said game, they may wish to purchase it, which is currently not possible.
I have spoken to a few people from Sony, they have stated that they way the store is designed, its made so that you cant purchase something you already have “purchased” which when you get a freebie from PS+ the store considers to be a purchase, its a method used to prevent people from accidently buying the same thing twice and getting charged multiple times for something they already bought…
How about allowing them to do so anyways, just have a message popup (like the freebies message from PS+) stating that you recieved this content prior from PS+ and can download it again, without purchase, however, if you would like full ownership of said title, continue your purchase and even when your PS+ subscription expires, you will still have access to the purchased content….or something to that extent.
Decent discounts, maybe I’ll pick up one or two games from this list.

Last week’s update you pretty much focused all on PS Vita with no focus on regular PS3 games minus the Sonic Bundle which we already got and Dungeon Defenders.
I hope this isn’t the future of Plus where you guys focus primarily on Vita content. Not everyone has one. Will there still be a balance between Vita and regular PSN content?
Bunch of greedy maniacs. When I see that there are no new games on any given week, I consider all the discounts and if they don’t interest me, I move on and wait for the next week. Plus has paid for itself a few times over with the mass game drop they did over the summer. They don’t need to add a new retail game every week to keep me happy. Morgan, just keep doing your thing. To hell with naysayers and greedy haters who seem to think that $5 a month entitles them to anything they want.
wow, all the whiny kids here need to go away, you did not get psn + with the promise that every game that gets put up for discount would be brand new AAA titles…..so quit whining that your not getting a brand new game for free, its not going to happen, why should game developers do all the hard work they do just so their game that was just released can be put up for free…thats not how it works. some of you are just greedy little turds that need to get a life instead of thinking there being “treated unfairly” when theres not a new $60 game on here for free….
First time commenter about PS+ and I really want to thank Morgan and team for bringing us such a great service and value. I am a manager in the rental/retail business, and hardly have time to put forth as much gaming time as I would like to, so my subscription to + has more than paid for itself time and time again. Not only have I been able to pick up games that I missed, but also get exposure to games that I would have honestly never picked up. Thanks again!
The RE5 Gold was a fantastic addition to the PS Plus, but except for Little Big Planet 2, there is little content for kids. Is there any plans of bringing super-hero games to Plus, like Spiderman or Captain America?
It is unfortunate how many people are complaining. You cant expect top quality stuff every week when you are only paying 49.99 a year for all the free stuff we are getting. No matter what they give you, you will always want more. Sony had its credit rating downgraded recently because they are struggling. If they continue to give away everything for free there may not be a sony playstation left soon. I for one am very happy with the amount of free content i have gotten for less than the price of 1 new game a year, and thats coming from someone who already owned 4 of the 6 ps vita free titles we got last week. I could have complained but instead i thought about what i was getting and what i paid and i realized i was still making out like a bandit.
Anyone having issues downloading the free titles we got with the welcome back program after PSn got hacked…i chose Infamous and Dead Nation, and when i download them now, i try to install but it says they’re PSP games?? i called about this already and they’ve yet to fix it, anyone else having issues with this?
I think the update is great. I loved playing co-op Untold Legends. Still have it on UMD, but it will be nice to have on the Vita now, and at a cheap price.
@256 TriP6963 – Oh, my I’ve already forgotten, but I DO (well, DID) love the nigh random assortment of themes that’d crop up. I’d even be fine to see repeats, since even then, I might be enamored to try those out again (that jellyfish disco one is a favorite, as well as…the one with blue/green blobs, like colored mercury). Favorite theme’s gotta be the Leap Year one. Excellent, solid, DARK colors (a must if we’re to read those completely white letters of the XMB).
@263 Nahela – Those would be aces. Since they’re rather low-priced as-is, even a 50% discount would make it hard to resist a title that even mildly catches your eye (and the JRPG range in the Classics seems broader than what’s available as PSN for Full Games). Really hoping Plus for Vita brings in PSP game discounts, too.
@266 Psikorps – Totally hearing you (especially if the sale’s insane, like the $1.00 deals last month, or if a freebie’s keeping you from buying a bundle*). While it’d be a pain, I could see Customer Service “refunding” you on a PS+ freebie purchase, if you really wanna throw money for keeps.
*Speaking of bundles, why is the Valkyria Chronicles 2 bundle, IIRC, cheaper than VC2 on its own? I’d really like to grab its DLC, but I’m feeling miffed about this disparity. VC1’s DLC got discounted some weeks ago, so can we see a similar price change for VC2’s two pieces of content?
And final dig: Doesn’t Swords & Soldiers have DLC (does on PC; dunno if it made the jump)? Any game you offer discounted, please, PLEASE, get its DLC in on the deal. Some of us have picked these titles up, on the Store or elsewhere, and would like to expand our gameplay at a similar discount to what others will be jumping in on.
The only offers i liked was the discounts from Sega to sonic adventure 1 & 2. Gonna buy those two games since it’s been such a long time i played them and the pricing is super cheap :-)
I’ve had my PS3 for a really long time, and only ordered it when I got my Vita days before the Vita plus launch. In one day I already made my subscription pay for itself by getting Uncharted, Gravity Rush, and Mutant blobs attack. Maye in the future the releases and discounts won’t always favour me, but they might for someone else. Heck if I already bought thehysical copies I might be bummed that I could have waitied, but I might see it as a benefit for someone else who didn’t own them, or gets int gaming because of it. Sometimes good things are for other people.
I’m not going to go out and rip on PS because they might not always do what I want or would like.
It’s an awesome service if you have one device, and if you have both it’s almost criminal the benefit you get from it. Good on you Playstation and this plus service from a brand new convert.
So here it is, the 27th, and the Alice Ultimate Edition issue is STILL not fixed. Will the game stay on sale for another week to make up for the fact that it was wrong ALL WEEK?
I think it’s really unfair that less that 24 hours after the issue with Alice was fixed for PS+ users, that sale it’s already out from the PSN. It was supposed to last 1 week, not 1 day, and by doing this you are transferring your team mistake to us.
I’m not asking for anything for free, just to be able to buy the game at the price it was listed but now it’s gone.
I love Ps+ but on this one, I really think you guys dropped the ball.
Unless you are a Vita owner or a recent subscriber to PS+ this month was pretty lame. We mainly got discounts on stuff that we got for free some months ago or some meh games. Also can we get some of the free games and PS+ subscription discounts like the EU. I’m hoping next month is a bit better since I know this was Vita’s Plus coming out party.
I loved the Instant Collection on PS Vita, and would love if there was a lineup change like every month or so, if just for one game. One suggestion on PS+ discounts or instant collection would be any Dynasty Warriors game or from any Warriors related game: Warriors Orichi, Fist of the North Star, Bleach Soul Resurrection (I’m just hopeful for this one); it’s an idea because making it available would encourage gamers to buy the BIG collection of DLC realeased on each Warriors game.

@EVERYBODY i personally dont really care about the free stuff get it out your head matter of fact i got 90 games worth i got of ps plus and 20 games i bought i been suscribing for a year and download every freebee since august 2011 and i want to sell my psn id for ¹$200 paypal just write back
another bad update (for me), i have the 1 yr sub and most these games have been offered for free this yr. and i dont own a vita its a totally diff system i bought ps plus before the vita was even out and now there offering free games for a system i dont own that costs as much as a ps3. the discounts are on 5$ games, there 5$ games because no one plays them to begin with. should discount 30 to 60$ games. payday heist was the only good game since feb and feb left the games up for months instead of offering new ones. i dislike the new ps store layout. blitz wont start if your online and dungeon defenders wont start if u have a keyboard plugged in. how does that pass inspection? at least i got skyrim this weekend for 15$ so ill be on that until a good update rolls around

I joined Plus back in July, and have not regretted anything. One month came out where I didn’t like the titles and didn’t download anything? Did I care? Not at all! Since I had already saved over $100 in just two months of Plus, I sure wasn’t going to complain.
I will now pick up about 5 of these titles because I never had the opportunity to get them before since I am a fairly new + subscriber.
I was completely satisfied with just my PS+ subscription then, and then you all graciously gave it to Vita owners and that to me made it even more worth it. Contrary to what these joe blows are saying, Morgan you and PS are doing things right!
I appreciate this awesome game corporation and look forward to the upcoming things you’re going to offer us.
@292 I get what you’re saying, plus is an awesome value for any region and blows away any competitors services. My issues are Europe getting blatantly higher rated games worth more in cash and entertainment than North America does, also if the rumors about December are true Europe gets TWO retail games…how is that fair to us?

I Can’t help but notice a major focus on your handheld systems. It’s only slightly annoying having handheld systems pushed on us, while the core system is becoming neglected.
I don’t have, and haven’t had a handheld since the original gameboy, I like the rest of the world have a smartphone and tablet. I pay for Plus because of the PS3, which seems to be getting the shaft on provided games.
It is very obvious , that the PS3 is getting tossed to the side as you’re desperately trying unload a stockpile of handheld systems that don’t serve a purpose in the modern market due to tablets and cellphones.
IMO, the only true customer base left for dedicated handheld systems are children, and even that market is being taken over by other options. Why would I buy my kid a $300 dollar vita, and two $40 dollar games when I can just get him a kindle fire for $200, and he can get all the games he wants for free? It doesn’t take a accountant to figure out which one offers more value for less. Better quality games? He has a home console for that.
Handheld gaming devices are a dead market, trying to avoid that by pushing these games on console users isn’t going to change that fact.

Weeks like this a few free good dynamic themes and avatars would go a long way.

ok , I agree the PSVita Instant Collection Debut was a success, but I liked the freebies for my PS3 too. I don’t know what will be my choice for now.

Plus has paid for itself a few times over with the mass game drop they did over the summer. They don’t need to add a new retail game every week to keep me happy. Morgan, just keep doing your thing. To hell with naysayers and greedy haters who seem to think that $5 a month entitles them to anything they want.

wow, all the whiny kids here need to go away, you did not get psn + with the promise that every game that gets put up for discount would be brand new AAA titles…..so quit whining that your not getting a brand new game for free, its not going to happen, why should game developers do all the hard work they do just so their game that was just released can be put up for free…thats not how it works. some of you are just greedy little turds that need to get a life instead of thinking there being “treated unfairly” when theres not a new $60 game on here for free….
First time commenter about PS+ and I really want to thank Morgan and team for bringing us such a great service and value. I am a manager in the rental/retail business, and hardly have time to put forth as much gaming time as I would like to, so my subscription to + has more than paid for itself time and time again. Not only have I been able to pick up games that I missed, but also get exposure to games that I would have honestly never picked up. Thanks again!
The RE5 Gold was a fantastic addition to the PS Plus, but except for Little Big Planet 2, there is little content for kids. Is there any plans of bringing super-hero games to Plus, like Spiderman or Captain America?
It is unfortunate how many people are complaining. You cant expect top quality stuff every week when you are only paying 49.99 a year for all the free stuff we are getting. No matter what they give you, you will always want more. Sony had its credit rating downgraded recently because they are struggling. If they continue to give away everything for free there may not be a sony playstation left soon. I for one am very happy with the amount of free content i have gotten for less than the price of 1 new game a year, and thats coming from someone who already owned 4 of the 6 ps vita free titles we got last week. I could have complained but instead i thought about what i was getting and what i paid and i realized i was still making out like a bandit.
Anyone having issues downloading the free titles we got with the welcome back program after PSn got hacked…i chose Infamous and Dead Nation, and when i download them now, i try to install but it says they’re PSP games?? i called about this already and they’ve yet to fix it, anyone else having issues with this?
I think the update is great. I loved playing co-op Untold Legends. Still have it on UMD, but it will be nice to have on the Vita now, and at a cheap price.
Now, if only the update would go into effect…
@256 TriP6963 – Oh, my I’ve already forgotten, but I DO (well, DID) love the nigh random assortment of themes that’d crop up. I’d even be fine to see repeats, since even then, I might be enamored to try those out again (that jellyfish disco one is a favorite, as well as…the one with blue/green blobs, like colored mercury). Favorite theme’s gotta be the Leap Year one. Excellent, solid, DARK colors (a must if we’re to read those completely white letters of the XMB).

Since they’re rather low-priced as-is, even a 50% discount would make it hard to resist a title that even mildly catches your eye (and the JRPG range in the Classics seems broader than what’s available as PSN for Full Games). Really hoping Plus for Vita brings in PSP game discounts, too.
@266 Psikorps – Totally hearing you (especially if the sale’s insane, like the $1.00 deals last month, or if a freebie’s keeping you from buying a bundle*). While it’d be a pain, I could see Customer Service “refunding” you on a PS+ freebie purchase, if you really wanna throw money for keeps.
*Speaking of bundles, why is the Valkyria Chronicles 2 bundle, IIRC, cheaper than VC2 on its own? I’d really like to grab its DLC, but I’m feeling miffed about this disparity. VC1’s DLC got discounted some weeks ago, so can we see a similar price change for VC2’s two pieces of content?
And final dig: Doesn’t Swords & Soldiers have DLC (does on PC; dunno if it made the jump)? Any game you offer discounted, please, PLEASE, get its DLC in on the deal. Some of us have picked these titles up, on the Store or elsewhere, and would like to expand our gameplay at a similar discount to what others will be jumping in on.
The only offers i liked was the discounts from Sega to sonic adventure 1 & 2. Gonna buy those two games since it’s been such a long time i played them and the pricing is super cheap :-)
I’ve had my PS3 for a really long time, and only ordered it when I got my Vita days before the Vita plus launch. In one day I already made my subscription pay for itself by getting Uncharted, Gravity Rush, and Mutant blobs attack. Maye in the future the releases and discounts won’t always favour me, but they might for someone else. Heck if I already bought thehysical copies I might be bummed that I could have waitied, but I might see it as a benefit for someone else who didn’t own them, or gets int gaming because of it. Sometimes good things are for other people.
I’m not going to go out and rip on PS because they might not always do what I want or would like.
It’s an awesome service if you have one device, and if you have both it’s almost criminal the benefit you get from it. Good on you Playstation and this plus service from a brand new convert.
So here it is, the 27th, and the Alice Ultimate Edition issue is STILL not fixed. Will the game stay on sale for another week to make up for the fact that it was wrong ALL WEEK?
I have most all of the good titles this month….

I think it’s really unfair that less that 24 hours after the issue with Alice was fixed for PS+ users, that sale it’s already out from the PSN. It was supposed to last 1 week, not 1 day, and by doing this you are transferring your team mistake to us.
I’m not asking for anything for free, just to be able to buy the game at the price it was listed but now it’s gone.
I love Ps+ but on this one, I really think you guys dropped the ball.
Unless you are a Vita owner or a recent subscriber to PS+ this month was pretty lame. We mainly got discounts on stuff that we got for free some months ago or some meh games. Also can we get some of the free games and PS+ subscription discounts like the EU. I’m hoping next month is a bit better since I know this was Vita’s Plus coming out party.
I loved the Instant Collection on PS Vita, and would love if there was a lineup change like every month or so, if just for one game. One suggestion on PS+ discounts or instant collection would be any Dynasty Warriors game or from any Warriors related game: Warriors Orichi, Fist of the North Star, Bleach Soul Resurrection (I’m just hopeful for this one); it’s an idea because making it available would encourage gamers to buy the BIG collection of DLC realeased on each Warriors game.

@EVERYBODY i personally dont really care about the free stuff get it out your head matter of fact i got 90 games worth i got of ps plus and 20 games i bought i been suscribing for a year and download every freebee since august 2011 and i want to sell my psn id for ¹$200 paypal just write back
another bad update (for me), i have the 1 yr sub and most these games have been offered for free this yr. and i dont own a vita its a totally diff system i bought ps plus before the vita was even out and now there offering free games for a system i dont own that costs as much as a ps3. the discounts are on 5$ games, there 5$ games because no one plays them to begin with. should discount 30 to 60$ games. payday heist was the only good game since feb and feb left the games up for months instead of offering new ones. i dislike the new ps store layout. blitz wont start if your online and dungeon defenders wont start if u have a keyboard plugged in. how does that pass inspection? at least i got skyrim this weekend for 15$ so ill be on that until a good update rolls around

I joined Plus back in July, and have not regretted anything. One month came out where I didn’t like the titles and didn’t download anything? Did I care? Not at all! Since I had already saved over $100 in just two months of Plus, I sure wasn’t going to complain.
I will now pick up about 5 of these titles because I never had the opportunity to get them before since I am a fairly new + subscriber.
I was completely satisfied with just my PS+ subscription then, and then you all graciously gave it to Vita owners and that to me made it even more worth it. Contrary to what these joe blows are saying, Morgan you and PS are doing things right!

@292 I get what you’re saying, plus is an awesome value for any region and blows away any competitors services. My issues are Europe getting blatantly higher rated games worth more in cash and entertainment than North America does, also if the rumors about December are true Europe gets TWO retail games…how is that fair to us?

I Can’t help but notice a major focus on your handheld systems. It’s only slightly annoying having handheld systems pushed on us, while the core system is becoming neglected.
I don’t have, and haven’t had a handheld since the original gameboy, I like the rest of the world have a smartphone and tablet. I pay for Plus because of the PS3, which seems to be getting the shaft on provided games.
It is very obvious , that the PS3 is getting tossed to the side as you’re desperately trying unload a stockpile of handheld systems that don’t serve a purpose in the modern market due to tablets and cellphones.
IMO, the only true customer base left for dedicated handheld systems are children, and even that market is being taken over by other options. Why would I buy my kid a $300 dollar vita, and two $40 dollar games when I can just get him a kindle fire for $200, and he can get all the games he wants for free? It doesn’t take a accountant to figure out which one offers more value for less. Better quality games? He has a home console for that.
Handheld gaming devices are a dead market, trying to avoid that by pushing these games on console users isn’t going to change that fact.
I’d really like to see a discount on PlayStation All-Stars, or better yet, add it to the instant games collection. That would be SWEET!

How about having some kind of Plus users discount on songs for the new “Singstar Store”?
I find it rather expensive, having to pay 1,50 for just one song.
