But what may not be a deal to you, IS to others. I have never played Bioshock 2 and I see this as a great update. I mean sure I’d love to play the Batman game too (even though I played it already), but the fact is I’d still be excited just as much as I am for Bioshock 2.
Many people must agree since during Black Friday, Playstation Plus subscriptions increased 259%, that is a staggering amount for a supposed “crappy” service so many people on here repeatedly call it. Its laughable for them to call it crappy when the subscription rate went through the roof, clearly most do not agree.
People must like it more than dislike and as I suggested earlier in this thread, its more likely than not, only the vocal minority complain, since most people tend to be pleased and not feel the need to post.(just my opinion).
I’m rather tired of seeing people complain about the FREE games they are receiving…
@602 To be fair a lot of people paid the subscription fee to receive free games in hopes that they would be games they would want to play.

@nolo You are still saying the same stuff, I am not talking abt the preference of the game, I would want US plus to give me Hitman absolution for free this month, but that is unreasonable. I am just saying just try to match the value of the game which EU is giving for their customers and the number of retail games which they get.
To make it clear I never played Bioshock series or Arkham City. But when I saw EU is getting 2 retail games one being Arkham City I was waiting to see what US is planning on giving and guess what they gave Bioshock 2. I have not played Bioshock 2 to make it clear and would love to play it but just looking at the deal EU definitely getting better deal then US. I am just frustrated cuz EU keep getting better valued retail games where as we get a bargain bin game.
I dont want US to give me AC give me something that matches the value of what EU is getting for their money, thats all I am asking.

@ 607, While you are right, its still free to me. Let me put it this way: I tend to play most of these games and beat them in a month, after that I never touch them. Also, its only $50. To me, this paid off for itself in the very first month alone, with Little Big Planet 2 and Infamous 2. After all that, its just gravy, so to me it really is free, but feel free to say that its not really free, to me it will always be free.
To clarify, I know that it is not technically “free”, but it sure does feel that way, but if it makes you feel better to see it from a glass half empty, I’d like to think of this as a glass half full.
It just astonishes me how so many people do not consider these games free, I mean if it really bothers you that much, just subscribe for another year or three months at a time to have access to the games. I’m not short on funds, but I’m pretty sure I won’t be crying about not having access to these games when the PS4 is out and I can’t play them anymore because I’m not subscribed anymore by then.
@605 what nolo is explaing to you is the grand plan alot long time sony loyalist are putting into action.. Eu & usa and japan getting games is in the past was a embarrassment . This blog was filled with guys like myself to help the brand. we broke everyone up some went eu. Some are here, some in canada . japan is where i went to psn legionairee school .:) this was before console restrictions to regions a very long time ago
The usa psn store has been ranked 1# 3 yea\rs in a row in service, eu store is not better. They have gotten better becuase the long time gamers help them with ideas to do so.. It helps the sony gaming brand over all to give great games everywhere, 1-2 games they get dont mean they are better over all,.. belive it or not when the psn store 1st drop japan was killing everybody and candian store and usa was one and the same and was still getting whipped Eu has always been number 2.
usa has always been playing catch up to eu ,today our store is overall better than Eu overall

@608 so technically its not “Free” good you understand that. I am not displeased with plus. I have to repeat again. I am really happy with plus, but I am just unhappy about why EU plus members gets better deal compared to us. From my prespective, I am being reasonable in asking why I dont get a deal that matches EU plus subscribers since its also under Sony. Atleast let us know why we cant have the same valued deals like EU plus members.
I am not arguing I want a cross game chating like xbox gives since different companies and I chose playstation for obvious reasons. I am just asking why there’s a disparity between the subscribers when we both subscribed for the same thing “PLUS”. or atleast let me choose the region for my plus subscription which I want for my PSN account.
@mcbuttz78 were not counting the store as a whole on this issue, this issue for this WHOLE argument from the start was about the Exclusives EU gets for their plus, I guess US store makes up for it with the discounts we get? blah where does that leave people like me? I don’t have the money to pay for all these wonderful discounts that come out to get all this. Main function for Plus seems to be the content of what they call free, that should be top priority overall dont you think?… I mean somethings plus team does is irrational. The HUGE discount for Music unlimited, I mean really. that could’ve been put to use on a HUGE discount for a relatively new game instead, that’s what would be better for “gamers” Not a discount for music you can find free on the internet with a mere google search! Eu might get few better games here n there but the service is not better than usa blog psn store service. that is not true overall , we are rated number #1 in service they have always been rated number 2. it was japan for the 1st 3 years and them usa from then on out . eu psn store has never been rated number 1# in service. But if they do get the tilte this year. sid and morgan and those guys and gals will have alot explaing an soul searching to do.!! ;/. we not giving the title to the Eu store .. that was thing jeff and chriss, grace made very clear to us..!!

@nolo451 All i have to say to your comments, good IT PAID OFF FOR YOU, but these titles don’t do justice for everyone, knowingly stating that there isn’t a chance in the world they can make one update where everyone is pleased, but take into note some of the games most people are asking for is what EU gets just so that we can have the same equal quality of our subscription-free games. Your whole business thing is really really bad to bring up. Who cares if more people are signing up for this service, Sense I been on it with the blog posts for plus, each week its the same people really plus or minus a few that are really letting there voice be heard on the blog, but then again how do you know people don’t just email sony directly to get their point crossed about these games they have been unsatisfied with sense they signed up. You don’t know, maybe a couple games they seen was on this list of free and they finally thought it’d be a good idea to subscribe and sense then they could be complaining directly with their unsatisfactory, lets see the the percentage on that one buddy….

All I have to say to that is: 259% increase in Playstation Plus members, must have paid off for them too or it enticed them. Money is the final stat here and it doesn’t lie.
@nolo451 Like I said, they could of seen a couple of titles that caught their interest, I finally signed up when i seen infamous 2 on this list, but sense, it hasn’t really paid off…. And when the stats come in and 25% renew it, what would you say to that?
I mean it’s already been stated by plently of people they won’t renew it, let’s see the poll on that one, will you renew it? Have you been satisfied?

That 259% seems really good, but you don’t know how much of that % was based on free trials that came with a bundle, or with a game. that would be a great number is it was just out of the blue, but a lot of people got free psn trials off of Facebook and other source so it’s hard to say whether or not the 259% was people paying for ps+, or people just getting a free trial of it.
Also does your 259% increase include the free monthly subscriptions they give out in bundles, the black friday bundle with a free year subscription i believe, also the FB deal for oversea countries where they give out free month subscriptions?…. Only stated the increase not the total reasoning. behind it, how much of the percentage is by people paying for it is the question. I myself received another free 1 month subscription

I barely found out about this blog in September and I consider myself to be a strong gamer (I play almost every day), I’m pretty sure a large majority of people are unaware of this blog as I once was, so I’m pretty sure any poll taken here is not represented well, Especially since those that are upset are the ones that are actually seeking to have their voices heard, further skewing the actual results.

@610 we get differnt games becuase the 4 psn teams have diffrent agendas. eu has alwys been the game getter next to japan. But I think it becuase everyone can have great game in their region. What some consider a great game is whats being debated.. some people like bio shock2, while some dont like it or batman or w/e it may be. Usa like give differ genre respects, not all of them are going to everyone liking of top game out..
@611 psn plus was made for the poor gamer in mind. i understand it changed recently. i understand alot can not afford every single game. but they(psn) cannt deceide to give every good game away for free its compremise deal with dev i assume ,the dev of every game is not going to do that , but they will give a discount deal. I dont know the pricing works, i dont what games they choose., i dont how they going expand psn +, all i know it was made or poor game in mind and should stay that way.. i keep track of what going on and alot of the time if discounted it will come down for free.becuase paitence pays and let psn + plan work for you, :)

@624 yeah nolo, same thing when i subscribed for plus, I subscribed because in all gaming blogs they had a shoutout saying crysis 2 is free for plus subscribers in november. i was not aware that US and EU will have such a great different in their game collections. I said I was the one to be blamed to get subscribed to plus since without knowing all these differences. Then came yet another shoutout in blogs Plus gives Arkham City for EU, I was moderately happy that atleast this time US will do something to cope up with them but again a disappointing bargain bin title. WTH dude I pay almost the same amount of money to subscribe for this plan and EU gets better deal and more to that more retail games. I am still not against plus I am not happy with the US product transfer mine to the EU product if you guys cant cope up with EU.
There’s a number of ways they can do that, from surveys, phone calls, I can’t say exactly as I do not work for SCEA, but it can be done.
Maybe write up a polite letter to SCEA and inquire as to how they got that figure? As for me, I’m not surprised by that number, to me it really seems like they put out great deals almost every week, the Vita games that were introduced a few weeks back really put it into perspective for me on how such an amazing deal this is and how spoiled I am getting (not that I am complaining! :) )
@635 I am not talking abt the good or bad games according to each individuals. I am talking abt the retail value of the games which is being given out by US plus and EU plus. US plus’s retail game titles feels like a single cell organism compared with the Mammoth EU plus retail games.
@mcbuttz78 I knew what i was getting myself into when I signed up for this, I knew it was going to be older games, that’s not my issue at all, the fact that its different teams puts a serious hurt on that, because if they worked together then we could get the exclusives EU gets that we want and EU can get the discounts we get that we want. its all so more complicated then what it could be, I suggest they just switch teams then.

I think you misunderstood me. I am not being contradictory. Putting up a poll here would be biased and skewed. In order to have a representative sample, you have to do it correctly, not just put up a question on here and say choose A, B, or C. I mean I’m not being a jerk, but have you ever taken a statistics course? There are proper ways of taking a sample that accurately reflects the population and if you had taken a basic stats course, you would know that this is not how you do that at all. I’m not belittling you if you haven’t, just saying anyone who has taken a basic stats course would know that.
I think I’m just going to agree to disagree. I’m tired of arguing, especially on here where we all share the same hobby. Do I think EU is getting some better titles? Sure. But I’m still happy with what I’m getting here, I’m not going to complain because I didn’t get what some other country got. If the time ever comes where (I hope not) I feel the same way as you guys, then I will vote with my wallet and not renew when my subscription ends in June or a year after that.
@637 again Vita games? I dont know abt others but for me I dont play hand held games while driving or going out with my friends for a football game or while watching a movie in theaters. When I am in home I will use my PS3 and why will i use Vita? even if I want to play hand held games I am happy with angry birds (that if and only if I am totally doing nothing while travelling which I dont see happening). If you think Vita games are a good deal for plus subcriptions its not for me. You can have two different plus’s one for PS3 and one for vita. I dont know US plus will only do justice to their subscribers if they own Vita.
