What is a Worm Hole?

The Worm Hole is Sackboy’s brilliant new teleportation tool that will enable him to travel safely from one Worm Hole to another within the same level without fear of losing a life.

This handy new tool will even allow Sackboy to teleport from your PS3 to your PS Vita and vice-versa, should you want him to return home. The most intuitive and creative level designers will even be able to use the tool to remove Sackboy from gameplay and effectively lock him in a state of stasis whilst action is taking place elsewhere in the level…However we’ll leave it up to you and Sackboy to discover just what potential his new Worm Hole discovery holds for LittleBigPlanet and the rest of the Omniverse!

  • @149

thank you i shal try this soon, i have coppied your post with your user name to the same post on the EU blog where we are also having the same problems. hopefully this will help allot of people.

  • this worked for me :D

  • @Kong_Angantyr @Yuranium There in lies my biggest problem, there is no blue cross-controller option, anywhere! When I open the Content Manager app, there is nothing on the Live Area other than the Start Window and the Help Life Vest! Like I said, everything is updated to the latest versions, so what do I do? Where did the cross-controller option come from and why don’t I have one?

  • @153 is the REMOTE PLAY button

its all black with a PSV and 2 dots above it

its not even possible to delete it or install it

    its NOT content manager app

maybe your new to VITA but you may need up swipe the home screen where all the circle buttons are up till you find remote play

  • Hi,
I wonder if I am having a problem different than anyone else–I dont see any cross play icon in LBP 2. I see it in content manager on vita but nothing in my digital copy of the ps3 game. I even uninstalled and reinstalled it, including the long update. When you all downloaded the cross play update from the store did it install real fast automatically as well? I’m trying to figure out why nothing seems different in the ps3 side of things.

  • @155: Did you purchase the LBP2 Cross-Controller pack? Cross-Controller comes with new LBP2 levels, specifically for the PS3-PSV setup.

  • WOW! Do I feel like an idiot!! Thanks @Ziaro_7 for pointing out that it is REMOTE PLAY and not CONTENT MANAGER! Thanks to @Kong_Angantyr and @Yuranium for your replys as well! And, no, I am not new to Vita, I bought the early edition, I am just new to this cross-control stuff!!

  • Awesome stuff…typical of LBP.And for those of you whining about the price…oh please $5.00 for all this awesomeness is very cheap and plus very worthy.

  • Hi Quest–yeah I bought the add on pack–when it finished downloading from the store it automatically installed it. No bubble showed up on the dashboard where games usually show up. I reinstalled this a few times but LBP2 looks the same each time. I also downloaded the vita pack on my vita by going to my previous download list and downloading it directly on the vita

  • Oy.
Okay, I tried @149’s fix, but I still get no joy.
I have tried Digital and Disk.
I have tried PS3 Wired and Wireless connections.
I have tried Vita Wirelessly and USB connection.
My 80gb Fat is updated, as is my Vita.
I have shut down both systems and rebooted.
The PS3 IP was the same, save for 4 places lower in the last box. I manually input all the options, moving the IP to one above the Vita’s.
I also just re-downloaded the pack from the PS Store, in case something went wonky. No help.
    What am I missing?
Is anyone else still having issues, or am I the last one?

    Thank you!

  • @ race2winnet lol That can happen to anyone. Just hope you can get it working.
@ 155 Try go to “store” then browse in LBP2 and select cross-controller content you already purchased. Then select visit planet to the right. And that will ask you to connect your vita.

  • Well just as I thought. A big mess and tons of people with trouble to get this work, yet NO solution and Sony just doesn’t answer at all. If anybody (preferably the devs/Sony) finds a REAL solution, please let us know! All this guessing and trying is NOT a solution.

  • Slyk76: Hmmm.
For me, it shows up below the “ME” bubble over on the right in the Pod. I was also able to get to the menu though the “More Stories” area and selecting the new game.
By “Vita Pack” you mean the costumes, right? What was it called, as I don’t see it in my Vita store.

  • @159

only thing i can think of is that you might be trying to install DLC for a copy of the game of a Different Region.

You should be able to start it on PS3 under the ( ME ) button at ( cross controller)

  • Slyk76: I just re-read your comment. Yes, it is already installed, so there will be no bubble in the “GAMES” menu.
Load LBP2, and you should see it in your pod on the Right.

  • Ok thanks everyone. Im not in front of my system now but if I understand it correctly nothing shows up when you first go to the pod dashboard–first you need to click Me on the menu and then crossplay shows up? I guess i should have explored more–from the way everyone was talking i thought it should have appeared on the right as soon as i clicked the computer

  • Slyk76: No, It is a separate bubble, beneath the “ME” on the “Moon”.
Also check to see if you have the Pack installed by going to the “More Stories” area on the Left. I was able to get to the menu we’ve been discussing (Remote Play on the Vita…)

  • I wish I had an answer. I shut down the PS3 for an hour to deal with other things. I downloaded the new music pack for SoundShapes on my Vita during that time. Then I thought to myself, “Self, let’s try this one more time”.
Now it is downloading? Wirelessly. 73mb of 468. Now it restarted, and is at 3488kb?
PS3 says “Connected to the PlayStationVita system.
Vita is on “2” with a DL meter. 97 MB now. It also says “Downloading…”
I wish there were a way to post photos here!

Steven Isbell, where did you go? Now is not a good time to disappear, SONY! You commented 8 times yesterday, but are absent today? You’d better have a note from your doctor!

  • Has anyone else had this DL restart? It got to 417MB and started again.
I did not lose the connection to the PS3 either time.
    Displeased with this experience!
When I discuss “How many hours the game takes to play”, should I include these hours as well?

  • @168 :P IKR, funny how they are only around when there is ‘joy to spread’ You so nailed it!

  • Cross Controller for the PS3/Vita is broken! Care to explain why a lot of people are having problems not having it to work!! I tried to DL the file on the Vita but it keeps stopping, and every time I try to re-downloading it it restarts! I need answers to this issue NOW!!!

  • It’s suppposed to be free for Plus, but it’s showing $4.99 in the Canadian PSN store?

  • @172 It’s not free for PS Plus. I have plus and it’s not free. If you look at the bottom of the blog post, it says LBP 2 is free with plus, not the dlc.

  • @149 I will try your idea. I can only hope it will work.

  • @149 (Ziaro_7) That’s awesome that that worked for you (and others!) Sadly, it did not work for me. My PS3 was already a 192.168.1.xxx IP address, as is my Vita. Primary DNS and Default Gateway were set the same as well. Both PS3 and Vita were already set to NAT2.

In spite of that, I configured my network manually on the PS3, just to see if it would change anything. No luck. I changed my connection back to auto-configured wired on the PS3 and gave up for a bit.

I tried again a few minutes ago. Wouldn’t you know it? It worked, and I played the first level. (I’m very impressed.) What changed? The only thing that changed from the time it wasn’t working to now is that I messed with my network settings.

Other people have messed with their network settings too, with varying success. Even now that it is working I’d be hard pressed to give an explanation. I’ll try again later to see if everything is still good.

  • What ended up working for me was changing Access points for both(of course). I had everything pointed to my Bel-Air WAP and no luck even though Remote play function worked fine. I switched over to my old trusty Linksys and instantly moved to step 2. Currently downloading 468MB file. Good Luck

  • Well, after FINALLY going to to the right place, I was able to get the cross-controller app downloaded and installed on the Vita! So, now that I got all of that straightened out, I can proudly say… that it still doesn’t work! :( Once I start the Cross-Controller story on the PS3 and run the Cross-Controller app on the Vita, it looks like it is going to connect but the ‘Please wait…’ window on the Vita is never-ending! I have checked the network settings and everything mentioned in all the posts above to no avail. I just give up!

  • guys my sis has a vita and i dont and so if i use the ps3 with my psn and the vita has her psn will it still work or will i have to sign in as her on the ps3?

  • I can confirm the network fix. If you manually set your IP settings in each device, the PS3/Vita connect properly.

I went ahead and manually set each device’s as the following:

Unique IP Address: 192.168.x.x (whatever your network is set up for)
    Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: Your router’s ip address, mine was 192.168.1.1
    DNS 1: 8.8.8.8 (Google’s open DNS servers)
    DNS 2: 8.8.4.4

Do this for each device, test the internet settings (both were open NAT 2), and that should work.

  • @178 The two consoles must have the same user account settings, and must be paired.

  • @179 thanx for the post still not working here though. has there been no official word from PS or MM?

  • Thanks for the idea about Google’s DNS. When I did it like that it actually WORKED!
So yeah, there is nothing that can’t be fixed! ^__^

  • wait. i didn’t re “pair” devices…

  • I actually called the tech support number for the Sony PS Vita. I spoke with a very nice woman that tried really hard to help me but couldn’t. I explained our issue of being stuck on step one and not moving any further. Sony tech support had NO IDEA what to do.

  • finish the tutorial in lbp2 the di vinci levels then go back out and the cross controller bubble will appear. this is if ur new to lbp.

  • I have connected a 2nd time with no issues, so that’s good.

Also, FYI, you do not have to be logged into the same account on the PS3 that you are logged onto the Vita with. I loaded up my son’s profile on the PS3, entered LBP2, fired up the cross controller, and connected my Vita. He was able to play just fine. (I did purchase the cross-controller DLC on my own account, though, not that I think it makes a difference.)

  • Could anybody official from Sony reply to this and give us hopefully a working solution? Really nice that none of them is to be seen when they are actually needed.

  • I’ve tried every fix, so far nothing works for me. Same network settings, alternating timing of accessing features, nothing. Why must it be this hard? Can’t they just put LBP2 Cross Controller app in the store?

I’ve never gotten past step one. Very disappointed.

  • <<<== I'm feeling like this guy.

  • @TTTTop, I have done exactly what @179 said and IT FINALLY WORKED! Use google’s DNS servers actually helped me solve this problem.

  • Thanks @179!

  • the update needed for this is terrible only host can move their head and it annoys me when i join my friends when i try to make costumes so i have to leave the party please tell me this will be fixed in the next patch/update!

  • My probalem was has never been getting passed step 1. It lets me DL the file but get’s stuck in the middle, and keeps basically failing. I was so close on my 1st try, but after that I get around 16MB but it stop, and once I redo it, it has to start from the beginning.

    Here is my set-up:

My router/modem which is AT&T U Verse (which sucks) is in my room
My PS3 is in the living room which about 50 ft away maybe more but can read the router but never at 100% (I have been planning to get an WiFi extender so I can get 100% signal)

    My question is:

Does the Vita have to be near the PS3, and also have really good WiFi signal for it to work?

Or can I have my Ps3 on with that black screen that says connect on and have my Vita in my room where I get 100% signal to DL this file?

I just don’t get why Sony didn’t make 2 files one for the PS3, and 1 for the Vita to DL on separate systems

  • How come we don’t get the “holo eyes” that are used in the levels? I beat the dlc 100% and got the whole Holo costume yet i did not recieve the eyes from any of the levels.

  • Its still 4.99 for PSN+ members :(

  • Please someone responds: THERE IS GREAT PROBLEM WITH THE LEVEL KIT MUSIC:

I finished the 100% of the level kit and two interactive music not appear in the ps3 bag (and arent prizes neither), only appear in the ps vita bag. One of that tracks is the amazing main theme of the pack and is frequently used in the ps3 part of the cross controller levels .

  • @149 & @179 Great and interesting solutions that don’t work for me sadly. I am connected to a more strict network that wont let me change the Primary DNS without completely blocking myself out of the internet. I really think that they should have made it possible to get this LBP2 Cross-Controller App for the Vita on the PS Vita’s store instead of downloading it through this crazy way. It would probably solve a lot of problems…
Keep listing off new solutions if you got any anyone. I am eager to try them.

  • Hey everyone, check the LBP Pod playstation forums under “any new on cross controller fix”. I linked to a guide that walks you through setting up a static ip and gives you domain dns servers. Worked instantly just now for me.

  • @198

Even if they put the 498MB LBP2 Cross-Controller App required to start it in the store, which is downloaded in the 3 step process you Won’t be able to connect once you get it running without the correct network settings.

After I did all the stuff I listed @149 and played several of the levels with no problems, connecting to the game 3 times during the day, I went back into my router and PS3 and change it back to the NAT 1 settings i had originally when i couldn’t get it to work. I think my router calls it DMZplusmode to by pass the firewall, which is a more Open connection which many online games enjoy.

I started the LBP2 game and LBP2 CC app on VITA and it would not connect again at all with the network settings that had me stuck at #1 in the 3 step process for hours. So you are going need the correct network settings even even if you could get the app running by copy or download.

I did post a link to the guide that #199 has put on the forum page , but the mods haven’t approved of it yet, so go check out his post for a good explanation with pictures.
