  • Geez you people complain over the most stupid things. Really it matters that the post was up at 5am and not 7am? If you dont like Dora then move along, there are people (myself included) that have children that would enjoy these games.

Yes I would also like PlayStation Mobile releases listed as well.

  • Dora?!

In spanish we say basura, can you say basura, say BASURA!
We did it, we did it yeah!

    Also,

I am way late to the demon’s soul party, didn’t atlus tell from software to shove it and the servers for multi-player were going to be shut down hence dark soul?

  • Best Buy has EDF listed on their website as a retail copy with a release date 2/12/2013. Check it out.

  • @152,

A lot of other websites had it listed as well, and removed it and cancelled all preorders they had. That may mean there won’t be a physical copy available after all. Although we can never be sure of anything.

Personnaly, I’ll wait. If I’m going to spend 40$ on EDF, I want a physical copy (a copy that will work forever without any potential title licensing issues ever and also won’t take space on my highly overpriced memory card). As much as I like EDF, I’m not going to pay 40$ for a digital download.

So if this actually gets out in stores in February, I’ll be buying it at that time. If not, then it’ll be when the price will drop at least 10 or 20$. Yes, I love EDF, but this is a new edition of a game that came out 6 years ago. And I don’t think it’s worth the potential trouble that download-only titles on consoles can get me if something bad happens either with Sony, or with my account.

  • A digital copy is more vulnerable to many potential troubles. You are free from the threat of losing a physical copy, for example.
I am not expecting to change the religious mind by telling the fact, though…

  • @154
I meant, “A physical copy is more vulnerable to many potential troubles.”
    Sorry about it.

  • YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!! DORA SAVES THE SNOW PRINCESS!!! MY ALLTIME FAVORITE HANDS DOWN! THANK YOU GUYS : )

  • Thank god for Persona 4 Golden to keep me occupied or else I would be equally irritated. Time to go back into the TV.

  • Hi, just came here to say i would love to see:

    ROGUE GALAXY PS2

    Thanks!

  • Dora the Explorer.. lol.

  • what’s the price for war in the north?

  • yes, the staple of my childhood can be replayed again. Dora, you have been missed.

  • I ask every wek and will continue to ask, why cant you post the prices for these items ? how am I supposed to get excited for something not knowing how much im going to be charged.

  • @ 156,

Sure, but in the case of a physical copy, if you loose your game, usually, you have one person to blame and it’s yourself. Personnaly, I never lost a game, and I’ve owned countless portable gaming devices since many many years. I don’t say that bad luck never happen, but I personnaly always keep my games either in the console, or in a carrying case, and nowhere else, ever.

In the case of digital downloads, they are usually always tied to your account, and have sometime limited installs/downloads. Many, many things can happen, completely out of your control, that can deny you access to the games you paid for. It’s all about control.

With physical copies, I have the control over my game collection. With a digital download, the PROVIDER (in that case, Sony) has the control over MY game collection.

I admit digital copies are often more convenient. But I refuse to pay the same price (or just a teeny bit less) as full retail copies, first because it cost less to “make”, and second because there is no absolute guarantee whatsoever that I will be able to play it in the future.

  • I for one appreciate they releasing games, they aren’t going to release their whole deposit of good games right as the new year begins xD Some of you guys are acting immature. Keep it going I know for sure we are getting something good at the end of the month :)

  • OK, its time to bring out Shenmue HD :)

    when is it coming??

  • Glad Sony is adding PS2 Classics even if they are kiddie games like Dora The Explorer and Go Diego Go. At least we are getting PS2 Classics unlike the PS1 Classics. Glad there’s nothing this week as I have a ton of games from the Christmas sale to get through to keep me busy.

  • Why is EDF digital only? Maybe is Sony actually made their memory cards a reasonable price…

  • Seriously, after weeks of nothing you go and give us nothing again? This is beyond pathetic. Some people there need to lose their jobs and get more competent employees.

  • Ecolibrium for PsVita Please!!

  • As far as digital verses hard copies I have over 250 hard copies dating from present ps3 to beginning ps1. Including some of the first ps1 games that come out. Every one of them play like new any time and any where I want to play them. I just wonder if digital copys will last that long even when they do not sell the game player that plays them any more. I know they have done away with demos from psn we use to be able to get.

  • Please give us some serious PS1 classics such as:
    Tekken 3,
    Jackie Chan’s Stuntmaster,
    Nightmare Creatures,
    Shadow of Darkness.

  • Forget physical copies, we are in 2013 people! We NEED MORE DIGITAL copies.

  • People who “want” Kingdom Hearts as a PS2 Classic really don’t. Because if they did they would be up on KH news and know Square is doing KH 1.5 ReMix instead. Which is better.

  • Ummm more psp games on the vita’s psn???

Still waiting for twisted metal head on, motorstorm arctic edge? Really Sony they r ur owned projects why ain’t they on psn yet? Same with crash n spyro ps1 oh n grab turismo 1 n 2????

  • *Looks at PS2 classics* -__-
How about some of Sony’s jrpgs make it on the Psn.
    Okage: Shadow King
    Dark Cloud 1 and 2
Wild Arms 3,4,5 and Alter Code F
    Rogue Galaxy

Also some more psp games for the vita like MediEvil Resrurection.

  • @174: And you say that like they’ve already announced a release for the west. Granted it’s very likely to come over, but until they say something it’s not a guarantee. Not that I care personally since I didn’t really like KH, but even as someone who dislikes the series I’ve been keeping up on my news.

  • already pre ordered Anarchy Reigns :D

Demons Souls PSN and EDF Vita FTW!

  • You know, people… Sony isn’t the only publisher here…

  • why do they have to put dora games that no one really heard about?

  • And the Vita, nothing ?
I mean you dont have to offer 100% of the catalogue
Make an effort and offer some AAA PSP and PS1 titles ???

I mean a free Final fantasy 6, or chrono cross, or Ghost of sparta… Thoses plateforms are full of gems, and it could be a great opportunity to offer some to PS+ members.

Can you also push SE to localize FFtype 0, and release Crisis core and Birth by sleep on the PSN ????

  • @177: Nomura wants to make the series easier to get into, he said so with Dream Drop Distance. What better way than letting them play from the beginning in HD?

And my point was, there’s an HD Collection. They’re not going to release PS2 Classics when they’re doing an HD Collection. That would be like if Sony had released Ratchet and Clank PS2 Classics, then released an HD Collection. Why bother?

Most will do one or the other. Not both.

@181: We won’t get CC or BBS. It’s been said a billion times before, so accept it, hang on to a PSP and the UMDs or ditch the games all together.

  • Megaman 9 & 10 is going to make new school gamers cry in frustration. Can’t wait to play them. Good plus update for sure.

  • Diego totally owns Dora.

  • Wait… Anarchy Reign is only retail!? DAMN IT ALL!

  • My goddaughter used to play Dora a lot, it’s good to see some options for the kids. Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable looks cool, but JPY 6.090 is a bit too high. I’ll wait until it gets old and get it cheaper lol

  • Where are the new avatars at I when did Dora get her own game lol

  • So…we get demon’s souls, one of the most brutal games for the ps3. And dora….who makes these decisions? And where can we speak to them.

We need a bloody poll section, for suggestions of what to put in the drop. I love the randomness of it sometimes, the games i wouldn’t think to ask for. But sometimes, dora is a game i would expect the wii to get. Not the ps3. Its not a problem to have. Its good its there, but in such volume. Just. BAM! Dora dora dora. Just weird to see it all so much.

I’ll be buying all 3 regional digital copies of demon’s souls though. Sorry, i’ll pass on dora.

PLEASE. Give us a place to suggest games we want. We will all understand that it won’t always happen, but everyone would at least like the illusion that we can influence the drop.

  • Get Guitierrez is doing a horrle job event cutting and pasting. Senior social media specialist are you kidding me? What does this turd actually do other than a poor attempt at a blog. I hope s(he’s) a volunteer; must n higher up am thinking to continue on with this horrible blog.

  • It’s kinda weird, we’re on 8th, and on psn network I can’t find EDF 2017 portable……is it normal?!

  • I was a little sad to read last night that the PlayStation 2 has officially ended production, but to see those five PS2 games listed for this week’s drop under “PS2 Classics” made me feel insulted. Insulted for the glorious PS2 and the dedicated fans that kept it going for thirteen years.

I understand that little kids deserve games and that parents deserve to have games for their kids to play on their PS3s; it just seems to be poor timing for these games to be released, in light of the circumstances.

I have a collection of over 100 PS2 games (that continues to grow), a PS3 that doesn’t play physical PS2 games, and a silver slim PS2 that will eventually cease to work. As a member of the loyal PS2 community, I am merely expressing concern for, both, being able to continue to play my physical PS2 library and being able to replace my favorites digitally.

I do appreciate the HD collections that have been coming out and the fact that there is a “PS2 Classics” section on the store, but the PS2 section has been slow growing and includes a number of games whose “Classic” title is questionable.

Maybe with the next version of the PS3 console, we could go back to it being able to play PS2 discs? (Wishful thinking)

  • Don’t know if this has been asked or not, but Where’s Wake-up club for PS Vita? last April you said late 2012, It’s well into 2013 now. Come on Sony.

  • Ryumoaner: “if you are seriously using the ‘Real Gamer’ tag as an insult against people who dislike games you like, you’re a bigger idiot than i originally thought. There are no such thing. Everyone is a gamer, regardless of how casual or ‘hardcore’ you nerds want to label certain games.”

No. You are not a real gamer. Real gamers don’t quit when the game is “too hard”. Hell, real gamers don’t feel like any game is “too hard” to begin with. Real gamers don’t judge a game before they’ve played it. Real gamers don’t haggle over graphics, because real gamers play games for the gameplay experience. Real gamers don’t persistently pollute every forum they visit with petty complaints that completely fail to offer even a single constructive suggestion. Real gamers feel privileged to have what they have, they’re appreciative of the experiences they’ve had exploring the wonderful world of interactive art, and look forward to more with gleeful eyes.

You are the opposite of all those things. Why don’t you take a hike, junior.

  • What about SOCOM, Sony?

  • MANN God Of War Multi BETA coming to my place :D THX Playstationn !!!
Cross Controller for LBP 2 is Amazingly Funny ! Kitty Cat Wii-u is no match for my HARDCORE PS VITA !!

  • how about a simple alarm clock for the Vita that you promised 6 months ago?

  • yeah I want the alarm clock on vita as well ….where is it yet ???

  • All the “Dora” chatter reminds me. PlayStation Blog should do a post on how PS2 games are ported. It would be interesting to learn some of the detail behind how PS2 games are converted to PS3 for classics.

The more games we get the better, so bring on Dora and Diego.

  • why do you waste your time with ps2 classic games like dora the explorer wow wheres final fantasy 10 kingdom hearts games like this would sell much better imo!

  • Anarchy Reigns digital?
