Mega Man 9 and 10 Combo Pack

Free for PS Plus members

Mega Man 9 and 10 were new and bold steps for a series that’s as beloved as Mega Man. Many gamers grew up on classic Mega Man games and yearned for a new 2D adventure but with the rock solid mechanics of the originals. Capcom delivered by going back to its 8-bit roots to deliver a classic Mega Man experience with all-new levels, weapons and bosses. IGN calls Mega Man 9 alone a “… mastery of 2D platforming.” Check out both Mega Man 9 and 10 for yourself; free for PS Plus members.

Eufloria takes the hook of controlling massive armies in real time strategy games and applies it to a massively-micro scope that asks you to take over new territories (dubbed Asteroids) all for the sake of a mythic group of beings called The Growers. If you’ve ever had any sort of fun with the strategy genre, give Eufloria a download to find out why GamesRadar.com hailed Eufloria for its “beautiful stylized graphics and RTS gameplay that works great on the PS3 controller”.
NCAA Football 13: Recent Winners Pack

NCAA Football 13 delivers an authentic college football experience with an insane amount of realism on the virtual gridiron. If you can’t get enough of the gameplay, you’ll be happy to know that you can pick up the Recent Winners pack, free with your PS Plus membership. Mega Man 9 & 10? Not bad, not bad. . .nerver hurts to play good o’ classics. How bout’ those X series next?

Def. looking forward to the GoW: ASCENCION BETA & thanks in advanced to the people who are already playing it & commenting bout’ it.

As for the past Week Updates, no complaints here. Had fun trying out Titles i’ve always wanted or catch up on a series. Barely trying Dead Space & i love it already. Since Bioshock 2 was Free & not the 1st, i’d love Dead Space 2 Free but of course, we’ve gotten couple shooters already.

I’ve liked this update. I almost purchased this bundle last week. But, i have to agree with other members that this is a weak offer and the same time a hard to enjoy game. I’ve liked because MegaMan brings me good memories. Recently i bought Blade Kitten, it’s not the best platform i played, but for many members it would be a great game to enjoy, it has quality graffics, a very easy learning curve and it is a very funny game. It would be a good offer for plus i think.

See the + sign on most of our avatars? That means we pay money. The games aren’t really free. If we stop paying we can no longer play the games we got for “free” If week after week our subscription doesn’t serve us well, then it’s only common sense to re-evaluate that subscription. You gotta remember too, that ever since last spring, anything that resembled a magazine subscription was taking away from us. And we pretty much subscribe on faith only, because we have no idea what we’re getting until the day before. In my opinion, it’s really the worst of any subscription I ever had.

You know, I take back what I said over on page three. While the games that I’ve been getting on PS+ aren’t all that great for me, personally, I’m sure there are those out there who appreciate them – even if it isn’t always a lot of people. Besides, PS+ has given my new PS3 a nice library of games I never would have had in the first place!

Just thought I’d throw that out there. Like anyone will read this. haha

Glad to hear mega man 9&10 got put into Ps Plus, its something that i’ll enjoy playing for along time.Really like to see Kingdom Hearts and more Demo’s for games that come out, i mean why would i pay 50-60 dollars for a game like dishonerd without really playing it for myself first lol. Anywho, Ps Plus is awesome and so is Sony period keep up the wonderful work that everyone at Sony is doing.

Desastreger said:

January 8th, 5:49 am

In the last two months I didn’t get the feeling that it was a good idea to be on Plus. The sports games were not good, they’re not full games such as Fifa or Pes, NFL or NHL. We got only one good shooter and that’s it.

We need better games on the US store and not just good discounts.

Desastreger said:

January 8th, 5:49 am

And Betas as a benefit seem worthless. It’s not the real game.

DeathGazer said:

I guess RE5 is the best we’re going to get from a retail standpoint :(

NBA Jam and Mega Man are okay, but it still pales in comparison to what Europe gets.

Sojyne said:

Wow a lot of people complaining that there isn’t anything out yet. Maybe they don’t realize that its after holidays and its like this for everybody. I’m pretty sure they just can’t press a button and say “FREE EVERYTHING FOR EVERYBODY”. Licensing takes time with 3rd Party Dev’s from what I heard when its Digital vs Retail. So in short suck it up, its not the end of the world and there’s still plenty of time for them to release stuff over the next few weeks. Be grateful for what they’re offering now instead of complaining about things they might not have control over.

On another note I do think that they need more vita games on the Ps+ lineup, its been over a month now and only a few new games have surfaced. Bring up more PsP titles that are missing as well as the Ps1 games that we long for like Crash and Spyro, I already have these on my download list and I’d really like to add them to my vita.

DelMurice said:

January 8th, 6:43 am

Sure January is just after the holidays. We still pay for it, why should we get less? Watching the CES feed, I kinda got the idea that Sony isn’t really in touch with it’s consumers. The crowd reactions were very minimal. HD4K is neat stuff but really only supported within the realm of sony. I think they are equally as clueless with plus subscribers. I would just like to see something that I won’t just look at and never play. Infamous2, Borderlands, and Bioshock2 were all amazing immersive games, and did we see anyone complain about them? no.. But, no one at Sony seems to get a clue.

AuralPrincess said:

January 8th, 6:50 am

Another weak update for PS+, as usual. Glad we got Megaman atleast but, why is it we don’t get atleast one of the many amazing retail games the EU store got? Like many people here keep saying, Playstation Plus is a service, as a service, you need to attain to user demands. This is going above what the consumer base wants and just posting things because it’s cheaper for you, etc, I stopped paying for PS+ a while ago, and still see no reason to go out and buy another.

AuralPrincess said:

January 8th, 6:54 am

@The entire US Store team –

I’m usually against complaints and whining but this is getting out of hand. Rarely does anyone reply to a negative comment even when it’s written as tame as possible. I have not read/seen ONE good reason as to WHY the EU store gets much better content than WE do. Instead of holding polls if you’re happy or not, how about ACTUALLY ASKING THE CONSUMER BASE WHAT THEY WANT for a change? Cause I seriously doubt if you would have asked people, they would have screamed for NBA Jam over a game like Red Dead Redemption or Deus Ex, for example. Make the PS+ service appealing again, and I will happily spend my money on it, as it stands I refuse to pay monthly for a service that caters to 1/10 to it’s consumer base.

sab_krit said:

January 8th, 6:55 am

@365 That’s alright, they had Battle Fantasia,BioShock 2, Castlevania, Dungeon Defenders, Pacman, Renegade Ops; How many of these are retail games? you are just waste of time. nsoi ur crappy games!

o13dnc said:

January 8th, 7:07 am

Every update is decent in my book. I bought a new hard drive for my PS3 just so I could download the games every week. For all the people who says the updates have been trash: It may not be exactly what you want all the time, but if you get to try something new or get a game to hold you over in-between big releases, it’s worth it. That’s just my opinion though.

Investigaelfo said:

Hi everyone, I’m a EU ps+ member.

I see last month you get “free” great games like Bioshock2 and Super Street Fighter (and we get Batman AC and Vanquish). January is just started and EU already got its monthly “big guns” (Bioshock2 and Mortal Kombat). Maybe you don’t yet… try to wait the end of the month and just then start complaining.

In my opinion PS+ service really worth the money I’ve spent, but I know that not all weekly-updates can be aewsome. Try to sum all the updates in a month and maybe you’ll change idea. ;)

Just to tell, in our forums many PS+ members are whining ’cause in their opinions we have less than US do… :D

PS-Sorry for my english!

Mattotastic said:

Nothing for me this week (same goes for last week and the week before) as I’m not a fan of 8-bit games, but to each their own..

I was hoping for a discount(s) on a retail game but oh well, at least now I have time to finish up Borderlands.

As always, I’m looking forward to next weeks Plus update, have a good week everyone!

RG3_MVP_Redskins said:

8 bit Mega Man games? This has to be a joke. I’m only using a free trial right now but PS+ doesn’t seem worth the value to me to upgrade after my trial ends. Street Fighter IV is the only standout game IMO.

DelMurice said:

January 8th, 7:41 am

Well this time Sony did ask what sort of games we would like to see, and the highest percentages so far has been Adventure/rpg type games. Games that have some immersion. So lets hope they follow up on that. Plus is an excellent way to show what the PS3 can do. Or introduce people to franchises that will soon be seeing a sequel. I purchased Borderlands 2 and pre-purchased Bioshock infinity because of Plus. I still have old consoles to play 8-bit games on. I would actually prefer to see PS2 classics over the 8-bit games. I purchased Mass Effect, but that would have been the perfect sort of game to give away to Plus members because it will sell the rest of the franchise. And, I bought it even though I have it on the XBOX 360. Also, games that are community/multiplayer driven, are perfect for free Plus oferings, because it livens up the community. Seen it happen with both LBP and LBP2. Just something to think about.

DelMurice said:

January 8th, 7:54 am

Also, Sony had a good thing going when they were offering one of each, PSN game, disc release, a mini and a ps1 classic. Even though they were spread out throughout a month, we had an update the week of the previous month. So even when we had nothing interesting one week, there was a good possibility that there was still something we would wait for. Also we had Qore, which really gave it that online subscription look and feel. Now we’re left to our own devices and rumor mill to find out what’s coming.
The instant collection thing seems like a device to get people on Plus, but the service has been rather stale for current members.

@ImmaTrueSpartan – Really. 1:28 am Pacific time, Yeah they are probably home sleeping. When has there been a update THAT early? c’mon now. The updates I believe timing wise Morgan stated once. Anyone correct me if I’m wrong but are usually between 2pm – 6pm PT. They try to push it out as early as they can. Most updates I’ve seen have been around 6-8pm EST. (3-5 pm PT)

DelMurice said:

usually see them post here MST around 5-6pm, but still have to wait an hour for it to have the correct price.

DonkeyKongKilla said:

@DelMurice – Yeah the new store design is thanks to that error. They tried to get away with my money on RE5 pshhhhhh haha. But usually I turn my system of then back on and its fully updated. But on the safe side always double check the balance.

There was a time, when I was a kid, when I could handle games like Mega Man but as I am almost 40 years old now I can barely handle Mario. I simply don’t have the time or the determination to keep trying something over and over again until I get it right. I was surprised to see others with a similar attitude, I though I would be the only one who couldn’t handle Mega Man.

So for me Mega Man isn’t worth the frustration. Adventure games and RPG’s are more my style. I put that in the poll. I wonder if most Plus members are kids or adult.

Anyway, another poster mentioned above that no one responds to these negative complaints, why not? I would also like someone to tell us if the slow and sluggish store is still being worked on or if this is the final product. I have to tell you that I go to the store less now.

DonkeyKongKilla said:

@Crono1973 – Honestly, now that your older and wiser these games should be easier for ya don’t you think? Like take sports games. As a kid my oldest bro use to torment me in nba live and I only beat him one game. Now these sports games are way more realistic and I’m older and wiser, He can’t even beat me nor come close to beating me in 2k. :D mission accomplished. another thing, He was also always beating me and other brother at madden, Last time he lost to him eating a bagel and not even really playing. Just saying if you don’t pick up on how to play the games better as you get older than your whole gaming life has been for just entertainment. Honestly, Megaman was never hard for me to pick up on. Its been a long time since I played it though.

TwinDad said:

To the folks saying that say they don’t listen. I understand, but if you just write “Nothing for me” and complain about what you got you are part of the problem. A simple “Not interested in 8-bit can we see games like Rainbow Moon, Broderlands, Vanquish, Batman, etc” that is helpful and will go towards helping them understand what it is you do want, knowing what you don’t want doesn’t help much.

This is much of the reason they locked the polls. They want a discussion of “I selected nothing because I want to play Batman City” and not “Everybody is unhappy looks at all the nothings.”

dragoon2659 said:

JoeGoodsnake said:

January 8th, 10:03 am

In my humble opinion, this is actually the first good update since I started with PS Plus back in September. The problem faced by SCEA at this point is that due to the constant disappointment for several months in comparison to PS+ in EU, it will take several continuous updates with good games in order to please the American/Canadian members and help them forget about late 2012/early 2013.

Might I also suggest that you start February off with a bang. Knowing that we only get one retail game a month, please make it a good one comparable or better than what EU is receiving for that month. If they happen to be receiving a re-hash of an american PS Plus release (like this month’s Bioshock 2), then at the very least give us one of the EU exclusive releases of previous months.

NBA Jam was a terrible terrible terrible terrible choice. I don’t think anyone here enjoyed it as a retail release.

JoeGoodsnake said:

January 8th, 10:03 am

What I’d also like to know is why you removed the ability for members to view the results of the polls? I noticed you mentioned that people are giving feedback on feedback and that it dilutes the information you yourself are gathering, but taking away a feature that helps members understand where other members stand is only going to result in worse reactions. Furthermore, your issue of diluted responses is easily overcome by simply being more diligent on your part.

@JoeGoodsnake – It was changed so people commenting would give more feedback on the update rather than comparing the poll and giving feedback on the poll. Morgan describes it more detailed on a reply. it was #191 and #287 at the time I last seen it.
