God of War: Ascension’s Multiplayer beta is offering up the signature Team Favor of the Gods mode and the yet-to-be-seen Favor of the Gods mode. In both modes, you’ll fight to reach the requisite number of favor points from the Gods, earning points via kills, bonus brutal kills, opening chests, capturing domination points and, if you’re skillful enough, performing executions using the Spear of Olympus. Interesting perspective, I like that you gave examples of what you wanted to see instead of just saying what exists are just duds.
I agree with the higher caliber games, but at the same time you said all gamers just want to see is retail titles. What I suspect is that gamers want to see only gamers they themselves are interested in. Can’t please everybody, but they can try.
Morgan has mentioned that for advertising purposes they want a few of the titles to be evergreen, so expect to see LBP2 and Infamous and a few others to remain for at least 6 more months.
I also, while I don’t like COD, I will be a very cold day when Activision gives the game away, let alone with DLC.
I got my PS3 like one week ago and I’m enjoying it at maximum, just like my PS Vita. I’m looking forward to purchase ASAP the GoW Saga and the next installment due to launch this March! The multiplayer beta will be the first time I get to touch a HD GoW. Great news!
While MegaMan may not be for everyone, i think it is still a step in the right direction. Not a big step granted but I’ll be grabbing it.
Look at it this way, it could have been yet another fighting game. At least we are seeing a little bit of spread of genres.
I still miss getting the odd PS1 classic free (the real classics like Crash Bandicoot and Syphon Filter, not the shovelware) like the old PS+ days prior to the IGC. Likewise a situation like the Sly Cooper HD games had where 1 went free and the other 2 were discounted to like $5 each. Care to pull that for Jak, MGS or Ratchet and Clank, hmm Sony? Love to see a comment to raise some hope, Morgan.
your idea sounds great! I would sign up for that too!! There’s only one problem: people would take advantage of it in a heartbeat! I mean think of it like this: I’m a candy store and I have varying kinds of candy for your tastes. If I had a club membership where customers come in and take what they want and not much restriction, how would I gain any money from it? From the membership? I only can make so much money from them and the candy, yeah you may be getting free stuff but it costs me a good chunk of money to bring the service out to you and keep the product coming in!! It’s a great idea so long as the consumer isn’t taking advantage of the distributor!!

That’s alright, they had Battle Fantasia,BioShock 2, Castlevania, Dungeon Defenders, Pacman, Renegade Ops; there are tons of games; just because you refuse to try something new doesn’t mean the games are bad.
Even if you had EU you would still complain instead of actually trying out the games; we had full retail titles and so did EU, in fact most people complain about EU not having a better selection so from my point of view they DESERVED the awesome christmas update.
@sab_krit – Fine, if Mega Man’s classic graphics aren’t cutting edge enough (even though stark pixels are the edgiest edges this side of the industry fallout), then play it for the music. Yes, it’s chiptune, but I’d say, overall, Mega Man 9 has the best music of the classic series.
Then again, that’s not so fair to MM7 and MM8, since I’ve only listened to the stage, opening, and ending musics of the NES titles, and I’ve passed over MM10’s soundtrack, instead listening to its arrange album. Unfortunately, nothing for me again this week (I am already in the GOW A beta) and there hasn’t really been anything for me in several months on the PS3 side. But I am not here to complain because Plus is still worth the price of admission due to the cloud storage, the automatic updates, etc. for both the PS3 and Vita!
I agree with those who would like to see the dynamic themes, minis and PS1 Classics return to Plus! Since both the minis and PS1 Classics can also be played on Vita, this would be a win-win for everyone! I know that these things won’t mesh well with the IGC but I definitely think they need to be added somehow, somewhere. Any chance of that happening Morgan?
Please do some sales on the DLC for MM9 and 10 then, because I have both. Which is fine with me, since they are good games and I love MM. But I would love to be able to complete mine woth DLC. Since it sounds like all we get are the base games.
i think getting tomba for free for psn subcriber would be a good ideal to start the list of having rpg genre on plus for this year.yea bring tomba im sure everyone will like it.the game have action platform with some rpg and is a classic.

Though I like retro city rampage a bit, I really would like some better PSN+ free titles, Just cause 2 is still the best PSN+ title we got since e3.

Tales of Graces f, this game is hard to find in stores and still goes for like $50 with ni no kuni coming out the free PSN+ of tales of graces f will help new people get into the JRPG genre
kingdoms of amalur: this game was incredible and is one of the best western RPGs this gen, maybe if people get to play it epic will make a sequel

Last time there was a combo pack offer (Sonic 1 and 2) I couldn’t download it because I already had Sonic 2 from a previous PS Plus deal. I missed out on the free Sonic 1 :(
Is it gonna be the same problem with the MM Combo pack if I have one of those two? I’d really hate to be missing out again.
Nice update; there’s some serious hate here about people not getting full retail games every weeks, but for the price of ONE full price game per year, they should seriously just shut up and be glad basic access to PSN is still free.
I’m quite disappointed with the US PS+ deals. I must say that i decided to become a plus member when I saw the kind of freebies people was getting. But oh, shame on me, I was reading European pages. now that I am a US member I don’t see anything that I would like to download. I’ve been reading the blog for the past month and a half, and most of the people are not happy with any of the updates. How come that Europe get cool games like Batman: Arkham City, Vanquish and Limbo, and we got Bioshock 2, NBA Def Jam, and I don’t know what else, and then the first week of the next year Europe gets Bioshock 2? And the worst thing here are the constant excuses we read here. The last of the excuses is that the poll’s results and comments were removed because you wanted “comments to be less about the polls, and more about the actual content of the update”. Come on guys. Don’t treat us like babies. Just give the people what the people wants, better games.
Seriously? First, you screw us on the last two weeks of the holiday sale, Now, though great games, NBA Jam, and Mega-Man games. How many retro games do we need? Maybe your just ungrateful and hateful about everything. If your not happy with the service you are paying for, then stop paying. This is a site for constructive feedback. I’m sure you, like a lot of people here already own more then one console, me included. I’ll tell you one thing. I’ve been a plus subscriber since Feb 2012 and I will be renewing once my year is up/when my tax return is deposited. Not all of the games offered have been my cup of tea, but you can’t always get what you want. Personally, I would like to see more ps1 classics as freebies, but that’s just me. Also, to those of you whining about what EU+ gets for free, we’re not in Europe. Move to Europe if you want those freebies. If you don’t want to do that, then shut up. NA is different from EU and the + content is too. I have been happy with + and I will continue to use it until the service is discontinued.
As long as the updates stay varied then I’m happy. I don’t understand why people are knocking the updates because the games happen to be of a genre they aren’t used to playing. That’s what variety is all about folks, wise up.
The negative responses about PS Plus are getting out of hand. I like to think of PS Plus as a community, so if you do not like the benefits of PS Plus – get off the island… I almost wish they would make a PS Plus subscriber requirement to even read the update thread, and if any current subscriber continually posts negatively then pro-rate their subscription and give them the boot. Since the Plus update is on the public blog, at least be civil and if you are over 18, act like it.

Terrible. I’m usually not one to complain about the disparity between what we get and what Europe gets, but it’s becoming hard to ignore.
This month, they get BioShock 2. Our best game from December.
So surely we get the best game they had…
Batman? Nope.
Vanquish? Nope.
Limbo? Nope.
Instead, we Mega Man and a sports game ported over from the Wii.

Please do some sales on the DLC for MM9 and 10 then, because I have both. Which is fine with me, since they are good games and I love MM. But I would love to be able to complete mine woth DLC. Since it sounds like all we get are the base games.

The last of the excuses is that the poll’s results and comments were removed because you wanted “comments to be less about the polls, and more about the actual content of the update”. Come on guys. Don’t treat us like babies. Just give the people what the people wants, better games.

Seriously? First, you screw us on the last two weeks of the holiday sale, Now, though great games, NBA Jam, and Mega-Man games. How many retro games do we need? I understand that the regions have different offers, however, Japan and the UK have both recieved three retail games a month. Why don’t we? How do you guys decide what games we get? We would also appreciate another stellar Vita update. That rocked. When will the retail game of the month be released? Please don’t say that it was NBA Jam, as we all may kill ourselves. How about you guys do a poll for what we the consumers would like, and do it?! That is customer service. I think that we are all very tired of asking things of you guys when you ignore every single sort of negative and positive feedback that try to give you. We are not only trying to get what we want. We are trying to make you be a better company as a whole. Customers should not be threatening to give up their subscription to plus. You should make an effort to keep your customers. Next thing you know these people are going to be threatening to get a Poverty Box 180, and get rid of their real system.
@381 can’t someone who is happy with there service they pay for, voice their opinion too. I love PLUS. And now that i have been patient I have a couple hundred games that were all (free with plus). Not to mention all the great beta’s, themes, avatars, discounts, online file saves, automatic patching, deep discounts, and countless friends I’ve made that also enjoy plus. Maybe your just ungrateful and hateful about everything. If your not happy with the service you are paying for, then stop paying. This is a site for constructive feedback. Not a daycare for you to come and throw tantrums.

I’m sure you, like a lot of people here already own more then one console, me included. I’ll tell you one thing. I’d rather pay for a service that actually gives you value (psplus) then a certain other service that makes you pay for flashy interfaces and services that should be free (won’t mention that service).
So, if you would rather buy another console, go right ahead.

I’ve been a plus subscriber since Feb 2012 and I will be renewing once my year is up/when my tax return is deposited. Not all of the games offered have been my cup of tea, but you can’t always get what you want. Personally, I would like to see more ps1 classics as freebies, but that’s just me. Also, to those of you whining about what EU+ gets for free, we’re not in Europe. Move to Europe if you want those freebies. If you don’t want to do that, then shut up. NA is different from EU and the + content is too. I have been happy with + and I will continue to use it until the service is discontinued.

As long as the updates stay varied then I’m happy. I don’t understand why people are knocking the updates because the games happen to be of a genre they aren’t used to playing. That’s what variety is all about folks, wise up.

The negative responses about PS Plus are getting out of hand. I like to think of PS Plus as a community, so if you do not like the benefits of PS Plus – get off the island… I almost wish they would make a PS Plus subscriber requirement to even read the update thread, and if any current subscriber continually posts negatively then pro-rate their subscription and give them the boot. Since the Plus update is on the public blog, at least be civil and if you are over 18, act like it.
