The Drop: Week of January 21st 2013 New Releases

Developed by LEVEL-5 with animation by the legendary Studio Ghibli, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch combines beautiful animated visuals, masterful storytelling and a sweeping score into an epic role-playing adventure like no other.

The highly anticipated PS3 games, Dead Space 3 and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance receive PSN demos on this week’s The Drop.

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch

(Also on PSN) — Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is an epic tale of a young boy, Oliver, who embarks on a journey to become a master magician and bring back his dead mother from the parallel world of Ni no Kuni. Along the way he encounters some extraordinary characters, many of whom become helpful allies. They guide Oliver as he explores the vast world and learns the magical skills that will make him strong enough to face his most deadly foes, and ultimately survive an encounter with the White Witch herself.

The world of Ni no Kuni actually runs parallel to the real world. Players will be able to travel between the two. Characters who appear in one world appear in the other as well, but with different roles in this unique RPG experience.

The Cave — The Cave is an adventure from Ron Gilbert, and Double Fine Productions. Assemble your team of 3 from 7 unlikely adventurers, each with his own unique personalities and stories. Then descend into the mysterious depths to explore a variety of locations including a subterranean amusement park and a medieval castle, not to mention a fully armed and ready-to-launch nuclear tipped ICBM. The Cave awaits.

Ninja Gaiden: Sigma — As Ryu Hayabusa you are out to seek revenge after your clan is massacred by the Vigor Empire. Realistic battle actions and acrobatic ninja moves are at your finger-tips. You play with only your wits, your ninja skills, and your deadly sword. Slice down opponents in the Vigor Empire as you attempt to beat the Holy Emperor and reclaim the magic sword “Ryuken”.

Pro Evolution Soccer (PSP) — Central to its total freedom of play, the game introduces a power bar for each player that allows the user to determine the exact strength and placement of every pass and shot. Balls can now be spread absolutely anywhere with surgical precision, with long balls into space, short passes to feet, and intricate one-twos allowing the player to dictate play and control the tempo of a match.

Dust 514 (PS3 Beta) — DUST 514 brings intense infantry combat, large-scale warfare, and deep character advancement to a free-to-play massively multiplayer shooter, exclusively on the PlayStation 3. Wage war in the next generation of first-person shooters, where a single victory could prove the crushing blow to a galactic empire of thousands of online EVE Online gamers.

Escapevektor (PS Vita) — EscapeVektor is a retro styled arcade game in which the player controls Vektor, an entity trapped in the player’s system. The player has to help Vektor escape the Vita’s CPU which has been holding him captive. In making his escape, Vektor must avoid enemies sent out by the CPU.

Just Dance 4 — Just Dance 4 is the perfect catalyst for the best parties, no matter what the occasion, thanks to innovative modes like the all-new Battle mode, an upgraded Just Sweat mode, and even more fun, alternative dances. Everything you know and love about Just Dance gets even better with Just Dance 4—hot new tracks, fun irreverent dances, and more.

  • What is the hold up?!?!?!

  • hey sony where the heck is all these updates, its 7:00 pm, i want my metal gear rising demo, bad enough i had to wait because u region locked the japanese version of it. seriously, please hurry up p.s. why did you do that?

  • @spyro505 Sony didn’t Konami did, most likely to increase the sells of Zone of Enders HD in the US. The Rising Demo came with the game.

  • there was a maintenance around 2 oclock for me but no new content its now 7:30 I just want MGR and DS3 already

  • 6:30pm CST here and still no update.

This is moronic, can Sony please set a specific update time and stick to it? Valve, MS and Nintendo don’t seem to have any problems with their regular weekly updates, why is this a consistent issue with PSN?

  • I suppose they didn’t really set a specific time. they just say today so it could be up at 23:59. either way. might be waiting until tomorrow

  • Seriously, it’s 6:40 and the demo is still not on there what’s wrong with the PSN store?

  • Free service.. can we really complain?

  • It wouldn’t be so annoying if SONY at least gave us updates on what’s going on.

  • It’s 7:55pm on the east coast and still no update :(

  • wow thats strange , a half of update

  • YES!!! its been updated!!! 7pm

  • Is the Dead Space 3 or Metal Gear Demo’s on there yet???

  • Still no update…

Is the 13 for 13 Sale real?

  • DOWNLOADING AS WE SPEAK!

  • go to demos and look under New demos

  • After buying it, I now have two available downloads. They both have the same title “Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White witch”, but one has a “Full Game” tag.

The one that is apparently “Full Game” is only 5.8GB, while the other one is 15.9GB, which I assume should actually be the full game? Has the demo mistakenly been marked “Full Game”, or do I need both files maybe?

I am downloading both, just hope it works.

  • Great drop. It is just too bad that the PS Store Interface is such a worthless pile of crap.

  • PS Vita getting worse every day.
Although it was a year ago.

Even simple things that they promise such as PSone Classis, which will be release every week.
    They can’t do it.

I loss of faith, Especially SCEA.
This is one of failed product that I purchased. They not try to push it hard like that Nintendo did.

I will not wait for the next 5 years for sure.
This is not bashing, I just want you to wake up.

Make us see the “value” of the things we bought.

  • please include the dragon ball z games for the psp and classic. and more for the ps vita as well.. some games are just very hard to find in stores for some rural areas we need your help. oh and a update to help with black ops would be amazing….too many people are making that game bad

  • the thing about waiting to buy the Ni no Kuni game is that it is sold out in many places and they will not be getting any new ones . Anyone who has ebay should see what some of the Ni no kuni stuff is selling for on there its totally unreal. People are making huge profits off this game and products. I am glad I pre ordered this game but am also glad I didn’t pre order the one I actually wanted given the fact of what happend with that issue.
