Vanquish is 25$ new and Sleeping Dogs is 50$ new
Vanquish can be beaten in a single sitting, Sleeping Dogs is a longer open-world game
Vanquish has a throwaway storyline, Sleeping Dogs while not perfect, has more of a story
Vanquish was released in 2010, Sleeping Dogs was released at the end of last year

The only possible place where Vanquish has the upper hand is the gameplay, but even that is not different or engaging enough to warrant ignoring the previous points.

More importantly, EU got both Vanquish and Arkham City. Where’s the other half of this update?

I love that we are getting DUST stuff, that game is awesome!

But as I am stuck at work I was wondering if I can still get the starter pack after the update has been done when I manage to upgrade to PS+ member status?

Basically am I only able to get it by being a member before the update or can I join later and still get it?

Yes if you buy a new membership, the content and all the other stuff from some other previous updates will be there. Now the udpate time is a different story, but from what I’ve seen it updates around 6 to 8pm eastern time, if not earlier. Hope you enjoy it man!

And for my word in the update, this is awesome! My friend was gonna let me borrow this but now I don’t have too! And i’ve already beat Megaman Maverick hunter X, on my psp, awesome game!

As for Dust 514 stuff, i’ve played it and it seems to have a lot of potential, pretty fun game.

Yes, it is in its own way a fun shooter and you can shoot ppl in the face just fine but it is also soooo deep. They ways you can customize your character and build. Love that stuff. Min/Maxer heaven.

I’ve been giving a return to the bad service provided by Playstation, here in Latin America. I find it incomprehensible, since, on the verge of the play4, Latin America still has no psn service, whether they realize some Latin American countries have a store, disguised as official, with service and shoddy uncomfortable (I mean platform, and that in general the staff are polite and efficient in solving problems) is absurd, that we allow such discrimination, worse for Colombia, Peru and perhaps few other countries, if you want to have the Store disguise, what sorry for our community that has failed to perceive such immoralities and misfeasance. The truth is that I bought the console for my son, because he insisted on the play, though he warned that at first glance the XBOX 360, presents most prestigious technology and know-how, unfortunately let my son decide.

Jesus Christ people are so quick to complain its impressive….we’re getting games for FREE yes for FREE and yet you guys somehow manage to complain…ha how people dare to say Plus isn’t worth it?……no matter if its old games…its FREE for god’s sake…..people are so narrow minded….and the brainless people who keeps mentioning the EU content….whats wrong with you people?…whats the point to complain here?….grow up…the solution is simple…make an account there and become a Plus member there.

Was really excited to see Vanquish for this weeks full game release until I realized I was confusing it with Enslaved. Not sure how I did that; but I’m adjusting my expectations.

Any chance of getting Enslaved sometime in the future?

JoeGoodsnake said:

February 19th, 11:06 am

It’s not free if money comes out of your pocket, thus complaints are valid when you pay pretty much the same as EU and don’t get pretty much the same value.

And for the record, I do have an EU subscription so I can take advantage of the amazing offers they have with Plus. Once my NA subscription ends, as far as it’s looking, I’ll be sticking with EU and just letting NA drop. Being a North American however, do you think I’d rather give my money to SCEA or SCEE?

And what’s with the insults? It’s comments on a blog. Relax.

I just got Enslaved a couple of weeks ago after months of wanting (due to the great demo). It seems to be a difficult find at EBGames in Montreal anyway, I’m not sure what it’s like elsewhere. Unfortunately, I find it slows down a bit immediately after the demo section of the game (the very beginning).

Still has my attention though; hopefully with the introduction of Pigsy and more character development, it may get better. Hope you get a chance to get your hands on it sometime soon.

Why are people saying “another Mega man game”? Are they not aware Mega man 9 and 10 were for PS3 and this one is PSP/vita? Not everyone has both consoles ya know……

The potential that you may not like certain games offered through the Plus program is always there, and everyone knows (or at least SHOULD know) this ahead of time. If you have your eye on a certain game, and you really want it, buy it. To sit with your fingers crossed, hoping that the people behind the Plus program will read your mind and give you what you want, is absolutely absurd. Anyone who does that should definitely feel stupid.

Be a little more proactive in your own life and stop blaming others for your disappointments which could have been avoided by a single, simple, ambitious decision.

The junk that keeps being offered for free with PS+ never ends. We want retail games. Not these trashy games. Once my PS+ member expires. I wont ever renew. My first and only year of PS+ turned out to be a let down after the first 2 months. I wish I did research so I would’ve known that a majority of games given to us are just useless piles of junk.

blaxarbush said:

February 19th, 2:06 pm

Also that Urban Trials Freestyle game is a 100% Rip off of the 360 exclusive Trials game.

DigiOps said:

@Cryonic – The store hasn’t been updated yet to my knowledge. Give it time. Games stay in the IGC rotation for a while.

@blaxarbush – Thank you for your feedback. I am interested in your views and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

I asked this before, but I don’t know if Morgan saw it/answered it, so allow me to ask again. Shockingly this is not an a-hole comment from me this month (GASP!).

Will there be any Day 1 Digital for Tomb Raider, God of War or Walking Dead for this month of March?

It’s my birthday on the 15th Morgan! Hook a brother up! lol.

I’d much rather buy them on digital (if there is a PS+ Discount preferably) but if not, I’ll have to get it from a store.

Erlaxis said:

February 19th, 3:35 pm

Amazing update. I almost bought these two games a while ago. Both are really interesting to me.

Considering the cloud saves and this week’s plus update, I can say that my $50 are already justified. And I still have left like 60 weeks of my recent purchase of a 15 month plus subscription. Any discount or free game I get from now on will be a gain from my initial $50.

Plus is such a great deal. It seems it is not for everyone, but for me, it’s incredible.

diarrheavanfrank said:

February 19th, 3:44 pm

@357 who told you ps plus is FREE yes FREE? it’s definitely $50 for a year. I paid that $50, and really don’t feel like i’ve gotten back $50 worth of fun. and definitely not in the past few months, it’s been quite the poopstreak.

that being said, 3 megaman games within like a 3 week span ain’t cool. one is probably too many. and vanquish seems like just another cheap sega game.

DigiOps said:

February 19th, 3:47 pm

@Erlaxis. I agree. With inFamous 2, Little Big Planet 2, Bioshock 2, Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One, Darksiders, Quantum Conundrum, Closure, Gravity Rush, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, and so many more, I definitely got my money’s worth for sure. Lovin’ it. :D

WolfyHopeless said:

February 19th, 3:53 pm

@381 False. The answer is you can’t get ENOUGH Mega Man.

This update is actually worthwhile. I’m not one to cry about the poor updates, I don’t expect my 50 bucks a year is strong enough to squeeze the proverbial content coal into diamond consistently every month, but I definitely have been finding my feelings of Plus being overall worthwhile wavering lately. This, however, is a pretty solid month.

The thing is, Plus HAS exposed me to try out game I wouldn’t have tried otherwise (And my trophies have thanked me for it), but I don’t mind if it’s not top shelf content every week. I also don’t really care what our friends across the pond get, because it’s a different country. They get great television that we don’t get standard here, but I don’t complain. It’s just whatever. I don’t understand why so many here are so butthurt and vindicated like a great injustice has been done to them. Do you really have nothing more to life?

KillaKornbread said:

February 19th, 3:56 pm

Looking forward to Vanquish. always love getting a game i wouldn’t have otherwise played. only complaint i have is that I’m off on Tuesdays and the evening update times are brutal! hopefully in the future they can do it first thing in the morning.

WolfyHopeless said:

February 19th, 3:57 pm

Also, just a thought but consider this: We’re all used to those games that put out “Season passes” wherein basically you pay a reduced cost to get all DLC. Borderlands 2 for example, or LA Noire, or Batman Arkham Asylum. All of those cost roughly 10 bucks less than what it would cost to buy all DLC separate. Why cry about a service that costs 50 where you get roughly over 100 bucks worth of games and content? By now you should know this is a grab bag kind of service. You won’t always like it, but you’ll definitely get double the bang for your buck. If you don’t like it, move on. No one is pointing a gun to your head.

BlackKoolaid said:

February 19th, 4:25 pm

Updates should be done in the morning. No reason you should have to come home from work and still have to wait for the update. Ridiculous.

Killmore_94 said:

February 19th, 4:26 pm

Where is the update? It’s 7:21 EST and no update

PrimeroIncognito said:

February 19th, 4:36 pm

@ diarrheavanfrank

Maybe he sees it that way because the only thing that’s truly constant within Plus is the cloud storage and auto updates. It could be that he looks at it like those are the things he pays for every month. Everything else is just a bonus… a.k.a. “free”.

I’m going to be subscribing to Plus soon, and I know that’s how I’m already looking at it. With the extra 3 months I’ll receive, it’ll be a whopping, debilitating, budget-breaking $3.33 per month that I’ll be dropping on cloud storage. My God, I don’t know how I’m going to survive. I’ll probably start panhandling in my spare time to cover it.

Anyway, the games and discounts that’ll be served up from time to time? I’ll view those as extras. In a way, they are “free”, because you never know what they’re going to be. And you know that going into it. You should try looking at it like that. $3.33 per month (or $4.17, depending) for cloud storage. Surprise bonus items every week. Not bad, right?

dinkin-flicka said:

February 19th, 4:46 pm

Good update for me. I’ve gotten more than my money’s worth a long time ago, so everything’s peachy.

Now, just more discounted games please. I’ve got a wallet just waiting for a hole to be burned through it.

Volcomkewl said:

February 19th, 4:47 pm

It seems like sloth’s run the updates, honestly.

rahman20k said:

February 19th, 4:48 pm

For those saying we should get cross buys for free, when you purchase one.
I think it is good that you have to buy them separately so we do not get the low quality one that the ps vita will be getting, that way it is worked on separate levels for the ps3 and vita.

BG808s said:

February 19th, 4:51 pm

What?! A Good quality game for Plus?? I must be dreaming!! Great to finally see Vanquish, one of the many EU Plus titles finally showing up here in the U.S. and hope to see some of the other big titles coming our way soon too!! Keep throwing us a few more bones like this and I will reconsider renewing my sub…

GeekWhenSpoken2 said:

I was thinking, maybe in the future the weekly store update could be advertised as happening on Wednesdays. This way—when the update happens late on Tuesday evening, it feels more like a treat, or reward for the voracious people who’re paying close attention and staying up late.

While those of us, that can’t keep an eye on the blog all day Tuesday, can wake up Wednesday knowing that they can start a download first thing—before work, school, etc. and that game, video, DLC will be waiting when they walk through the door later.
