  • I was wondering why the purchase option no longer appears when I want to get free content ? For example, if I want to purchase content that is currently free for Plus members but don’t want to actually download it right now. There is no purchase tab anymore and has been changed to a “Download”.

While I understand this was probably done to streamline the process so people didn’t have to take an extra step and checkout from the cart. However, for people like me that wanted to have the content registered to my account before it expires and download at a future date when I had enough hard drive space available, it is frustrating. I don’t see where I have the option to do this other than canceling an automatic download that has already started and with some small download files, this can be difficult to do in time.

Hopefully someone reads this and can add a feature that adds a download and purchase tab to free content. That way users can decide which they want to do.
    Thanks.

  • @196 I know your pain bruh.I’ve been spending so much on psn and I don’t get a reward for being loyal.
    smh

  • Glad to see the communication taking place by Morgan. Giving a timeline for the refunds for the incident last week is well done. It is better to over estimate the time it will take, then underestimate. Please keep up the good work of keeping your customers informed.

  • @196, it appeaers to be very random.

Asked half the people on my friend List, 25 got it and 30 didnt get it

Not sure what the criteria was. But its apparent, its very random.

  • Like I can’t make a different account… Ur dumb dude .. and why do you care what I say or not?? What do you want from me? Im taken sorry.

  • @192:

I don’t care if you work 100 hours a week in a coal mine; at the end of the day, you sound like a spoiled little brat who basically told the ps store staff to commit harikari. Someone throw the ban hammer at this whiny baby already….

  • ” I know your pain bruh.I’ve been spending so much on psn and I don’t get a reward for being loyal.
    smh”

Just because you didn’t get one doesn’t mean you won’t. Maybe they’re sending them out in batches.

  • @ccanfield,

Have you tried “buying” the free games from the online store website? I did because I have limited space on my HDD too, and that works. Its saved in your purchase history, so you can download it later.

  • $10 vouchers for doing nothing but buying games as I always do? That’s interesting. Can’t complain about free money. Anyone who would is out of their damn minds. Thanks.

  • @205:

Newsflash, they can ban your IP :)

  • Like you said, I work long and hard during the week and I’m spoiled??? Dude.. god Nevermind… Not worth it

  • Oh and telling Sony employees to kill themselves is probably the worst thing I’ve ever seen posted here. I mean, what the hell? Be mad all you want about updates and such, but THAT is more than crossing the line.

  • @ The_4th_Hokage_X

I wouldn’t be so sure that you would be able to comment here again, if they ban your IP address, unless you use a proxy….which you don’t sound too bright, so I don’t think you use one.

I’m going to be REALLY surprised if this guy doesn’t get banned. Someone else got banned for a lot less, this guy’s actually telling people (employees of Sony at that) to kill themselves. Its a bit jarring how he cannot comprehend how disturbing that sounds.

  • + Memphis_Warrior on February 19th, 2013 at 11:07 pm said:

So lemme get this straight….act like a whiny p*ssy, and sony gives you a $10 psn code?

Well you definitely should have got one then. I mean seriously, what a stupid thing to say.

  • Wen u have to work and start paying for things urself.. you will understand. U want the absolute best for what you pay. You should have seen my back when I payed 600 bucks for my ps3 and it got the ylod … Lol.. my god…

  • I’ve been living on my own and paying my own way for a good 13 years now and I’m not telling people to kill themselves.

  • @204 & 202 hmm.. Ok , will hold out. I mean, I send mass msgs to my friends list about 2maro and keeping them updated on the latest news and everything. I have a nice thing going on my friend list. Oh well, I’ve gotten these b4.. Nice for others too. Thanks guys

  • so I own Vanquish but now I can play it on ps3 with no disc so hell yes!! I even bought the dlc pack gain to show more upport for that game and beacuse its only like 2 bucks. And then I find a $10 voucher so I added ps plus time (1 year } 3 months). Good times while I like my wii and really like my 360, they will never be able to touch ps3/psn. Even if your update times are wacky only a small kink in the big picture to me.

  • Yeah, actually I’ve never complained ONCE about a store update or anything else psn related. They were OFF on Presidents’ Day, and there’s this little thing called the PLAYSTATION MEETING later today. Most of you probably have no idea of the logistics involved in making sure that all the developers have their content ready EVERY Tuesday. Also, Sony has NEVER given a specific time each week when the update will drop. Everyone feels SO entitled to what they want, when they want it, with NO concept of the technical issues behind the scenes.

  • The PSN team should sneak on over to the XBL team and find out how they can constantly have updates every week on time, since it seems the PSN team needs a little bit of help on figuring it out.

  • First of all I want to thank Sony for fixing the mobile version of this blog.
For quite a while the login was broken and now I don’t have to boot up a computer to post! :)

Next I want to thank Sony for the $10 PSN credit… What a great surprise!!

Does Microsoft do stuff like this??? HELL NO! ;)

  • I do work and have been paying my own way through life for the past 10 years. I’ve happily been a PS+ subscriber for the last 2 years and was in the GAP (gamer advisor panel) beta testing ps2 games before that. Does that make me a sony fanboy? Maybe. Am I a loyal consumer of playstation products? You’re darn right I am.

PS: YLoD is nothing compared to the xbox pleasefixme RRoD. My friend went through FIVE 360’s before it stopped. No lie.

  • U make a good point Memphis… I guess I’ve been stressing too much. I wanna apologize to anyone who was offended by my comment, Sony, staff and fellow psn members. Should of gone with the old punch the pillow to vent. Keeping quiet all this time just made me explode as I have s hard time expressing myself as it is. Sorry again and l look forward to hearing about any fixes to be made to dlc or corrupted files downloaded from.the store. Can you guys forgive me?

  • Hey Morgan,

Here’s a big “THANK YOU !!!!” from me to everyone at Sony as a whole for the $10 PSN voucher. No company does more to make their loyal customers happy. Your generosity us unheard of. Can someone name a “for profit” company that offers so much value and gives back so much to consumers when it’s not demended in the form of refunds or something like that?

Along with the big news later today (tomorrow), it’s like positive reinforcement overload.

  • this whole psn is terrible debate is kind of funny to me. Please keep going. When I come back tomorrow night I expect double the amount of posts that increase in absurdity every 3 posts!

  • Love the update!!! however i ran into a problem while adding the dust 514 add on to my account. the store said an error occurred and it won’t show up in my downloads list and now it wants to charge me 9.99 for the starter pack

  • Thanks for Vanquish, Sony.

  • @219 lol, hello Mr. Smarty pants. 1st of all, Grace chen , Morgan and the rest knows (should know) that the GREATEST ASSET they have on the PlayStation blog are the complainers. they understand that not complaining is x100 worse then complaining. How exactly did you think the Pan store got redesigned? …because they were being thoughtful!? No, because we demanded it. So your really doing them a disservice by not speaking your mind… Now I’m not condoning trolling, like that one dude here, but it is imperative you tell them how you feel. This blog isnt for just praise! Its to make our experience better. I’m pro-consumer, meaning I care about my pockets first before the feelings of…morgans, if you will. Bro, keep that in mind and never tell no one to keep quiet for speaking their mind….unless people are trolls :-) p.s that one dude is going to get kingdom hearts one day!

  • glad I came back 228 has the right idea! Good on ya!

  • Best update ever… Bunch of whiney baby folks that are complaining LATE UPDATE…. Get a life people…

  • Dust 514 stuff for free? awesome
vanquish free? awesome this makes up for 2 months of my PSN+ subscription
annnnnnd zomg $10 gift card from sony what am I going to buy with it, gimme a fat princess 2 please.

  • @220

Dude, M$ has about 20 million or so people (maybe it’s alot more idk) willing to pay them $60 a year just for the right to be able to access the online portions of the games they spend hard earned money for. Getting an update up at midnight IS THE VERY LEAST microsoft could do for their sucker….*COUGH* excuse me, I mean customers.

Sony/PlayStation’s customers tend to be a bit more wise and thrifty types of gamers in general, and Sony offers far more value for money, therefore logic dictates Sony makes far less profit and has alot less throw-away money to do things like expedite updates, pay millions in over-time for employees every year and finance huge propaganda campaigns (advertising).

They are fundamentally different kinds of companies, which means their priorities are in other places. I get PLENTY back for my dollar from Sony that I’m more than willing to cut them slack on something trivial like “late” unscheduled updates.

  • woohoo I got $10 free in my inbox. Thanks Sony ^_^

  • Great, now that Patapon 3 works, can we get the DLC tagged for Vita usage too?

Also, Phantasy Star Portable 2, make it happen. I got rid of my physical copy of it when I got my Vita under the, hah, silly assumption that I could get it digitally and play it on the Vita. Oh how I make assumptions about things that one would think were obvious.

  • What did I do to deserve this $10 credit?

    You’re so cruel, Sony. :)

    Thanks!

  • Does anyone know if this voucher can be accessed from a PSP?

I never could get a PS3 and Vita hasn’t interested me, but I have a PSP and have used the network service to buy and download games, so it is active. How do I know when the voucher arrives on PSP?

  • weird i downloaded Dust 514 pack says it free it charged me 10$ anyway i want my 10$ back plz

  • @201, what I did today for Vanquish was to activate the download (to add it to my Downoad List) then cancel it (as I will download it at a later date)

  • just got a message on my ps3 from “[psn]” saying that i’m a loyal customer, they’re giving me a $10 voucher in the form of an attachment for the PS Store, and it expires 3/5/13.

as i’m typing it out, my belief in its authenticity is decreasing, but i just wanted to check. is it from you guys, or is it a scam-a-lamma-ding-dong?

  • Awesome update! Even better when you include links to the website store so I can buy it from there and then just download when I get on.

  • It true i also got 10$ free, then i went to get my free stuff for ps+,went to download Dust 514 pack it charged me my 10$.Well guess im goin to call sony tomorrow.

  • Huh, people getting $10 the day my PS+ runs out… No $10 in my inbox, sad. :/ I spent more than some of the people on my list that got it too, wonder what the criteria was?

  • i got the *Apocalypse Pack* in zombie driver HD and neither one of the cars are showing up in any of the games modes and the new map in slaughter mod is even showing up is there anyone else having this problem???

  • well, i find it weird sony never mentioned any free $10 voucher.

it’s an attachment in a message that you click on… isn’t that the definition of phishing? you’d think sony would just add it to our wallets or something. i’m scared to open it lol.

  • Come on guys cut sony some slack they run into problems all the time, nobody is perfect. Just be glad it came, anyways nice update guys, by the way any plans for metal gear solid(the first one) for the vita?

  • Jeez, I can’t believe the griping on here. Come on folks – it’s just video games! It’s not like waiting in line for food or anything. I bet you guys aren’t 100% efficient in your jobs (or schoolwork – or keeping your room clean)

Seriously, chill out. You sound like junkies that need their fix! And the world would be a better place if we’d all stop complaining about entertainment schedules. After all, tomorrow is another day, right?

  • It good don’t worry about it lol this my second time i get free money the same way.It lauches you in ps store, then it will show you your code.

  • I see Sony handing out $10 vouchers to people who barely play their PS3, never bought a Vita and don’t use the PS store as much, yet loyal fans like me who support your games buys the dlc and even owns a vita doesn’t even get $0.10 or a thank you for your support loyal customer… it’s quite the kick to the balls, makes me think twice about my commitment to Sony products.

  • I was pretty PO’d about the late update, but then tonight I got this $10 voucher. Thanks a million sony. This just shows me that even if they don’t show it much, they do appreciate their customers. Sony rules!
