Our next generation console will change the way you interact with friends while you play. well i was wondering about the ps app is it going to be for the amazon market and/or windows 8?
Its about to go down.
I am still offset about spending the kind of money that I think they are going to charge for a PS4 unless it is going to be capable of playing existing PS3 games like how PS2 you were able to play PSone games on. If they did that I could see buying one when they come out, otherwise I am just going to stay with PS3 until the prices come way down, or they make it so you can connect a PS3 to the PS4 and play the games that way.
I have always been a PlayStation fan from the beginning, but I am to the point of giving up on them. They were good when PS2 came out and made it compatible with PS one games. Then they went backwards with PS3 and didn’t make them compatible so they could resell us the same games as a download instead. If they aren’t going to listen to the customers and make PS4 so that we can at least play PS3 games on it they are going to lose customers like me to other companies.
Okay after going through all of these comments I have come to realize that there are some STUPID people in the world. Y’all are asking the stupidest questions. Just so you know just because you commented on this and asked a stupid question does not mean they are gonna read it. They do not care if just one person gonna keep their ps3 because they are gonna have billions and billions and more people buying it. So what is one little IDIOT gonna matter to a company making its money. Get a Freaking life. Idiots like some of you are what makes me wonder why your mom did not abort you or has not strangled you to death for being so stupid.

ps4 is not backwards compatible…….deal with it. you cry when the ps3 stopped supporting backwards compatibility, and to no ones surprise, crying because the ps4 dont do it either….how long will this continue.
i owned the 60gb ps3 and never went back and played ps1 games. i knew it was an amazing system with possibilities that i had not been aware of at the time…grow with the time people. sony didnt say, u must buy a ps4,keep your ps3. the ps4 will be there waiting on you when your ready, but dont expect backwards compatibility to be there when u decide to make the jump…

If you don’t want to buy a PS4 that’s fine, good for you… you made a decision! Yay! I’m switching from Xbox to a PS4 because I’m tired of it crashing. I’m tired of going through Xbox to Xbox after sending it in because Microsoft can’t make a quality product. I haven’t heard of a single glitch, or a single malfunction on PlayStation. I’m switching because I started out on PlayStation.

Please!!!!!!!!!! make the PS4 compatible with PS3,PS2 and PS1 games! It will be the best console ever. There must be something to make it work. There are some amazing PS3 and PS2 games that should not miss out on the PS4.
So yea… I don’t know what to think about this. I’m pleased that the this is going to be a creative console, and the graphics are nice, I knew tho they were gonna make that change and it was going to be cinematic like i just had this feeling.. But I’m left disappointed with some things. I wanna see the console it self. The option for colors for the controllers ? We gonna have anything different ? I feel like the design for the controller could be better…. what is the software gonna be like? how will this differ from the PS3 ? will it be more user friendly? I want to see a customizable console. Like Id wanna have a clear one that I could put LED’s inside . idk what to expect but the meeting left me unsure.. Also the price of such a console.. Brings worry to me.. Will it be affordable with this tech? for the consumer ? anyways I hope to see some feedback from Sony.
One more thing.. For the console.. I strongly want to see no regonal locks for games and the PS home community. This will be a huge effect on my decision to purchase this console /
I am a little worried about replacing that perfect D-pad that I’ve played with for all these years, but otherwise I am very excited to get my hands on one and see how good it is for myself!
Does playstation 4 need more powerfull TV like 3D TV. Or It can run on any sony TV.

I’m speachless! I’ve stuck with Playstation from their very first system and I’ve been amazed by every new console. When The Ps3 came out, I didn’t think gaming could get any better! But, once again, Sony has proved me wrong! I am estatic! These are going to be the longest ten months!
The only thing I ask is the price to be lower. I love everything about the Playstation consoles and they will always have a place in my hart, I’d just like to have a little left in my wallet!

I have read somewhere it, simple wont work with the psn we use now (yeah that sounds like bs but it would make sense if they are talking about using cloud service to stream ps1-4 games onto the device), i’ve also read it wont be free to play online on the device but rather it will be a paid service.
Now on to my actual comments, this def needs backwards capability awesome new games are still being released for the ps3 (Crysis 3 just came out) and besides the fact that you could sell your ps3 and buy this, who really wants to have yet another system taking up space on the there tv shelf or wall (if it will be mounted).
The move from the old disk drive feature in the slim ps3 to the new style one where the top slides open was a bad move in my opinion (after all its so cool how it would just eat/suck in the disk, that’s definitely the way 8 gen consoles should be)
The fact that the ps4 can support the move controllers but not the dualshock 3 controller is Sony being extremely greedy (as i’m sure most games wont even make use of the touch pad on the ds4, why there is even a touch pad beats me, ain’t that what the vita is for), also i know there will be a new ps eye but will the old ps3 eye work with the ps4.
Sony why so greedy you have been pushing these new ps3 bundles knowing full well you were coming out with the ps4 (which is why you want to kill backwards capability)

They can’t make the Ps4 backwards compatible because of the new memorie unite. Seeing that before, in the Ps3, it ran about six or so memory chips, where information would run from one chip to another, big game companies such as Activition would have to custome build their games so that they would run on the Ps3. Now, seeing that ALL of the Ps3 games are designed to run for that modle, they wouldn’t be able to run on the Ps4. This is because inside the Ps4, we wont see six or so memory units. We’ll find one 8GB chip similar to the Xbox 360. Bethesda had the same problems releasing their DLC for skyrim. With Xbox and PC’s running one huge chip, the information didn’t have to run from one chip to another.
Instead of putting in the game you’d want to play, you will have to look the title up once Sony has released the stream library for Playstation 3 games. You would download your game, and there.
Playstation 4 games are being build completely different now, giving game disigners the ability to harness the massive powerhouse that the Playstation 4 is going to be.

@ 540, Jays_Pet- Can’t be helped. Games/apps coded for the Cell can’t just magically work on a new chip. Their cloud service may help but it’s not a clean because the architecture is different. But I agree w/ you on the color schemes. My old launch PS3 broke in the 1st 4 months; ordered the Metal Gear Limited console & it’s still running strong.

@542 I totally get that, though im not tecky but doesn’t ps3 and ps2 also use diferrent memory unit, hey if they are will to make a $200-$400 extra unit that has the necessary components so as to be backwards capable to ps3, then once again i would praise Sony as king like i use to when i was a kid. and i’m sure im not the only one who would pay the extra for that luxury, though im sure 2 years after the ps4 release it will have more than enough great games and i will be tired of playing my ps3 games, just as i got tired of playing ps2 games.

Luvtoseek thanks for the prices, i thought they were trying to keep it under 200 euro or maybe i had read wrong and it was under 300 euro then again im not even sure what the conversion rate from euro -$ is lol. On a different not the $499 bundle with the move controllers will those be the same ones you can get now or are those some newer kind at least in terms of style/design.
