God of War: Ascension is out in North America today! It represents the culmination of two and a half years of blood, sweat, and tears on behalf of the God of War team at Santa Monica Studio.
We wanted to create the best looking, best playing, most compelling entry in the series to date, a game that took every aspect of the experience to a new level, that sought to show long-time fans a different side of the iconic Kratos character, and that added something entirely new yet addictively deep to the franchise: multiplayer, which many of you joined us in playing and improving during our Beta weeks ago.
We put a great deal of thought and effort into the multiplayer modes you’ll discover in Ascension, including the recently revealed 2-player cooperative Trial of the Gods. Supporting this new addition to the God of War universe and the community we’re hopeful builds around it for a while to come is of the utmost importance to us.
To that end, we can today confirm a substantial DLC plan, among which will be new armor and weapons sets, new stages to battle in, and much more. All of this will be free for owners of the Ascension Collector’s Edition, since it includes a comprehensive Season Pass (which will not be available outside of the CE).

Ascension’s multiplayer mode, a series first, is about to go live for players around the world. Finally, we’re excited to reveal the fourth, and last, of the Gods with whom you may ally yourself: Hades.
Of all of the allegiances, Hades’ executioners have the highest versatility and variety of abilities. With the ability to curse, drain life, become invisible, and create large hazards (all in one load-out), the followers of Hades are able to control the flow of battle. Hades is neither the strongest offensively nor defensively, but careful tailoring through armors and weapons, based on the situation to subsidize this, will help push you towards whatever role you want to fill — you will be able to do it all.
It’s been a long journey since 2010. We can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the game, and meet on the battlefield online.
my CE came from EB Games Canada – aka – Gamestop …. I called the store to inform them that I was missing all CE bonus content & was told to contact Sony customer support … 1-800-345-7669 – you wait through about 10 mins. of prerecorded messages & finally pick the option for a live representative … you then wait on hold for another 20+ mins. … finally an actual person comes on – you explain you purchased the CE & that you did not receive your CE goodies, then they set you up with a service number, you email them with photos of your set & receipt & then they send an auto reply letting you know that someone will look into the incident within 3 – 5 business days …. anyway, sure hoping to get my vouchers for everything the CE was missing – I forgot to mention the MP XP Boost … hopefully they’ll know …. it’s been pretty arduous to attempt to get what was supposed to be in the box … I’m guessing someone in packaging blew it …. anyway, play the game with a proper headset – wow ! sounds & looks great ! had a blast with MP – die too much .
yeah the ps-all stars and the gamestop champions pack for MP says invalid or wrong code…the online pass worked tho.

your game wont work on my playstation for more than 20 min at a time!!! every other game i have works just fine, but god of war freezes either right when i start it or 20 minutes after the game decides to start. ive done what the ever knowledgeable “trouble shooting” section says and nothing. first you take the 3D off now your game doesnt even work….. XBOX is looking better and better these days.
Too bad combat is terrible now. Used to be one of my favorite series, now I don’t even really wanna play it. Really just playing for the trophies at this point.
I really wished that GOW went out as day one digital, my bluray of my ps3 stopped working a few weeks ago. Now only the games i’ve installed on my hard drive works. Even if i buy that damn cd, it won’t work. I don’t want to buy a new ps3 or pay to fix mine, with the ps4 coming next winter. I thought Sony had in mind with the ps4 to make every game available as a digital download, so with such a big title like GOW, and being a 1st party title, i thought it would be release digital. There are rumors on many blog, saying that it might be available in a few weeks, but what is the point of releasing it so late after, is it because they could not get it done in time or just a lack of awareness. As if they realized too late they should had made it digital, but it was too late to be ready at the launch date. Anyway, it seem like i won’t be able to play, and if they finally release it digital, it will probably be too late, all the players in multiplayers will have a huge head start in front of all who waited to buy it digital, it will just be unplayable. Instead i will borrow the ps3 of my friends or brothers along with the game, to play the solo campaign. They lost a sale with me, and it seem i’m not the the only one in this case.
I redeemed the included Codes, downloaded them, but I still cannot find the Multiplayer.
I’ve DL’d it twice, restarted the game, and nothing.
Now I have a code from Best Buy, which says it is invalid or expired.

A new employee at my local Gamestop accidently sold my collectors edition!! The manager apologized and said he’d personally work on finding me one in like 2 days.In the meantime he gave me a standard edition for now. I get home and check receipt…no pre-order codes and I remembered after I got home,no poster. Needless to say,I’m super POed.I’m a huge GOW fan and I can’t stop thinking “What if I don’t get my CE?” I’m gonna be furious!

i bet you they sold it on purpose. when i picked mine up at midnight the gamestop employee told his friends that if no one came for their CE that he’d sell it. this isnt the first time ive seen/heard of this either…
especially because you need the original prey order receipt AND a photo I.D.
I just purchased the God of war Legacy bundle.. I am very very upset and feel cheated. For one all the games are in crappy cardboard frisbees!!!. Also not all the games are included, you have to download the origins collection. I am going to make a youtube vid and start some petitions. Sony owes a lot of people games cases. NO WHERE on the box does it indicate that there are no plastic game cases. I have owned the 60 gig PS3 just purchased a slim 500gig bundle and now just purchased the Legacy bundle, I love PS3 but this has left a bitter taste in my mouth to the point that I have considered returning both my new bundles. Bad form Sony bad form indeed!. If you read this DO NOT purchse the Legacy bundle. Get the games seperate and just paint your case red on your PS3 lol. Not worth the price and only includes a lame 30 day Plus membership. Boo I say Boooo!
Man if i knew it was CE only i wouldn’t of opened my copy aint that sum BS.
Ok I’m having this problem which I think its the disk because every time I die and restart from checkpoint my game seems to be stuck in the loading screen and I’ll have to manually turn off my PS3 or take the disk out anyone know what is wrong?
Plus my Code for the two Playstation Allstar characters isn’t working I’m Starting to think that i got a tampered copy of the game.

the playstation allstars character codes go live on the 19th at the same time everyone can buy them on psn, the code simply makes them free. if im not mistaken…

That’s pretty much bull crap that their only giving the season pass to the people that bought the deluxe addtion. I figure they would sell it and give the people that bought the deluxe something else. I didnt hear that they were going to do this until it was to late. Damn!
