One of the biggest questions we’ve gotten in the last few years is “When are you going to make a Ratchet & Clank movie?” The truth is, we’ve wanted to do a movie for a long time! Ratchet & Clank’s action, humor and galaxy-spanning adventures have really been the basis for a fantastic game series, and we think it’d translate perfectly to the big screen.
We’ve been looking for the right partner to help us bring a Ratchet & Clank movie to life, and we’re thrilled to announce that Blockade Entertainment and Rainmaker Entertainment are currently in production on Ratchet & Clank’s first cinematic adventure. Insomniac is honored to play a hands-on role with the film’s production, screenplay, character development, and animation consulting. Furthermore, our own Ratchet & Clank writer, T.J. Fixman, who has written all of the recent Ratchet & Clank games, is writing the script for the film as well.

In additional celebration of the film’s announcement and to tide you over until the premiere, we’ll be offering a sale on all Ratchet & Clank games on PSN the week of April 30 – more details to come! There will be much to come on the Ratchet & Clank movie as we get farther into production and closer to its release. Thanks for all your support of the franchise over the last 10 years, without you, there wouldn’t be a movie!

For those of complaining about the character’s look –
The movie doesn’t come out in two years, meaning that is still in development and has all the opportunity to be fixed.
They probably started working on this last year and not this year since there would just be the un-furry, shiny renders of the characters in the trailer.
From the sound of it, Sony and Insomniac’s writers are working closely with the development team, so expect a good story and the familiar R&C humor.

I still have to finish the first R&C before this comes out.
I… am… stunned… beyond words! A movie centered around Ratchet and Clank’s origins, which are already told from the first game, but with some elements seen after the first game in it! It’s anyone’s dream to make a movie based on game heroes and/or heroines, and one of those dreams will finally be made a reality! Still like their current appearances, though. I wonder who else is going to have their own cinematic movie made after R&C? Sonic the Hedgehog? Sly Cooper? Jak & Daxter? Can’t wait to see the movie’s grande premiere! Once again, I will be really looking forward to this!
Just some questions, though, James. During the movie’s production, will there already be a new R&C game or two made by Insomniac, along with another in the works by then? And will the voice actor of the first game’s villain, Chairman Drek, reprise his role in the movie? I, of course, already know who he is, and he was excellent in many roles.
Man it’s been a long time since I ‘ve seen a Ratchet and Clank product. The movie’s trailer already gives me high hopes for the movie since I played all the games. They’ve all been hilarious and just random. Hopefully this movie will give the hilarity and randomness like the games did. Especially the weapons. Oh the weapons.

THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST MOVIE EVER!!! I hope Dr.Neferios will make some apearance in this movie he is my favorite charecter next to Quark and Chairman Drek.
So why isn’t Sony Pictures Animation doing this? Sony owns the Ratchet & Clank IP, so they should be the ones to make the movie.
That’s like 20th Century Fox letting Warner Bros. make a Family Guy movie.
The optimist in me hopes that this will be better than all the other crap videogame movies we’ve gotten over the years.

what ratchet games will remastered on ps3? like the 2 psp games that later made it to ps2 and deadlocked.
also will the first 2 future games get trophy support?
Did like chair man drake survive after the crash or something like. And have build an army to take down ratchet. If so it is like the story takes place after FFA. So how right am I???
