Remember — online multiplayer support for the demo will end when the game launches next Tuesday, so if you’ve been curious to see how the infrastructure online handles, check it out sooner rather than later. Just as importantly: your save files carry over to the finished game, and doing so is the only way to get your hands on a special magical Offering, so check out the demo if you haven’t already.
The full game will be out next Tuesday, April 30th, but there’s still time left to pre-order! Instead of yet again writing about all the goodies set aside for folks who reserve their copies, we decided to make a video. Enjoy!

Please stop ignoring the questions about pre-order content vis-a-vis digital purchases. this has been asked many times with not response. ultimately doesn’t matter to me, I guess, since I have ZERO intention of buying a physical copy, pre-order bonuses or not. Sony, it’s shameful of you to show so little support for YOUR store. We’re trying to support you so please support us as well.
I can’t wait for any confirmation so I just pre-ordered from EBGames… Plus that 1day+ delay last week kinda scared me.
I’m running a bit low on my 32GB card too so I’m kinda rationing my digital purchases. (especially with the extra Japanese audio)
At this point, even some standard PR line of “We can neither confirm nor deny the existence of digital pre-order bonuses” would be preferable to completely ignoring the flood of questions. At least then we know someone, anyone, at Sony is actually taking note of our concerns.
Yumi, I didn’t want to play the demo because I like to avoid getting story spoiled but you forced me to, to get the golem. This game is great. It’s deep, clever, difficult and confusing. I think this is like nothing else on Vita, as far as I know. Please tell Inafune-San that he hit this out of the park!

Sony, like everyone else I would like to know if we are getting the preorder bonuses if we buy Soul Sacrifice day 1? Your answer isn’t going to change my mind either way. I am purchasing SS on D1 Digitally. However, you owe to your customers to at least let us know one way or the other. It’s just the right thing to do. Like it’s the right thing to do by making the PS4 with a PC architecture.
By the way, I am loving Defiance and just wanted to thank everyone that had a hand in bringing this MMOFPS to the PS3!! Addicting game! Thank you!
I think. it will be the same as with Gravity Daze. So don’t panic people. Have some faith and you’ll get your bonuses. If not, then…. I’ll be suprised =))
everyone wants to know about digital preorder bonus…
i dont think it should matter. i think pre-order bonus content generally should be reserved for the stores to get you in the door.
that being said, i think digital media should br CHEAPER!!!!!!
in what world does a digital download cost the same to produce as a hard copy?
i enjoy having a digital library to play from. but when the rubber hits the road and my money is on the line, unless there is a sale (like ps plus gets fairly often but not usually on day one digital games even, which i think we should. give me even just $5 off at least for digital sake and being plus. AT LEAST!) i can get games cheaper physcial copys. stores have more sales incentive alot of the time.
make digital games LESS expensive than storebought. bottom line. not alot, just something.
It would be nice to have confirmation on this prior to launch. I’m leaning towards a physical copy unless we can get an answer regarding Day 1 Digital Purchases.
I would like to add, I checked out the previous post where they announce the launch date, and that post confirms Day 1 digital. But why wasn’t it mentioned here? It doesn’t get the pre-order bonus, so to not mislead people digital is not mentioned? That would make sense from a business perspective, but why not mention it, honesty goes a long way you know.
To those saying it’s up to the publisher to provide the details of the title and pre-orders. That would be SCEA, the publisher.
For the record, I suspect the reason they would not give the bonus is to appease the retail chains. The Vita is losing shelf space at a few retailers. This could be their way of trying to keep their shelf and mind share with retail.
I’m just thinking that why can’t they answer simple questions. If they have been put on a embargo, say so.

i love my ps3. but sony has the worst customer service of any company.
I have an idea as to the silence on the digital preorder silence. When Sony announces their sales numbers for a game, they give the numbers of only their retail sales for some reason… never the digital. They want this game to look like it sold a huge amount (and I believe it will). The incentive to get the preorder bonus might shift a lot of digital sales into retail sales, thus buffing the sales numbers. Hmm… makes sense, but pretty irritating for us loyal customers.
@57, Gemuvan, that did play out like that on Gravity Rush so I had to refuse my pre-order @ GameStop on release day, and apply my down payment to another game.
Since it’s obvious they’re not going to tell us either way, I’m going to hedge my bet this way again.
By the way, they did the same silent treatment over whether there would be a GOW Ascension digital and there wasn’t/isn’t one, so people like me who must have the bonuses should hedge their bet.

Pre-order the Retail version just in case. If they do release a digital version then just cancel your order and use that money to purchase the digital game… but as for the DLC… i wouldn’t expect it to appear on the digital version :/
As for my thoughts on the game i really enjoyed it but… i was hoping it was going to be a open world game :/ but regardless i might still pick it up :)
Use some common sense people. Obviously there won’t be a digital preorder. How could there be? The next store update will be for the game itself.
As for whether you’ll get the bonuses for the first week, based on every other release, it’s safe to assume it will. Sony is just terrible at confirming something they’ve been doing and usually waits until the last second to actually say anything. If at all.
So either take the risk based on history. Or don’t. Up to you.
Buying the game used isn’t going to fix their shoddy communication. How backwards is that?
@58: Sony does price their games cheaper digitally. At launch. Sometimes they’ve messed up, like when Resistance: BS came out, but they fixed it after it was pointed out.
Keeping the price below retail forever is another thing entirely though. One that Sony needs to fix.
lol this the1st time I have ever seen folks fighting over a digital copy and not the physical.. The physical copy loads faster lmaoo( which im buying along with a new memory card).. what difference does it make just go preorder at target stores its only 1$.. The price is going to be the same of SS.. wow
psn rarely does pre orders of digital.. and when they do they have folks screaming for physical which Is vice versa of this whole thing..

I know why Sony isn’t saying a word. It’s because they want to sell as much physical copies as possible. And believe it or not at last minute Sony will say that for the first week or so, on psn anyone who buys soul sacrifice will also get the pre order bounes. But is a secret and they have to stay quiet till last minute. Anyone who agrees say something. We can’t stay quiet.
So JP psn store has a digital download (¥4‚900)(1.9gb), 3 free vita dlc (100kb), 1 paid vita dlc (¥900), 1 paid dlc for use with ps3 (¥300), and 2 avatar packs with a third bundle of both (¥200/¥350).
Will these be available for purchase at launch and will we see a soundtrack release on psn?
Also, TOUKIDEN!!! any word on a US/EU release? the demo is super sexy, and I hate formatting to switch memory cards…
I am buying it digital. Will I get the bonus?

I love sony but seriously its one of your biggest vita releases, treat it as it deserves.
The demo was awesome! Only thing that I didn’t like was the last mission of the demo campaign where you can’t choose not to sacrifice.
I keep seeing all the questions regarding digital preorder content, but I suppose I’m more concerned at the moment with seemingly no pre-order option for the game on PSN. Am I just blind? I pre-ordered brick & mortar because I didn’t see it on PSN.

No where did I see Morgan say that it was up to SS distributor. I only saw that they don’t know at this time. January’s post said they’d look into it and we still have no news on that.
As for those saying just buy physical, Marketing of PS vita pushed for digital, so don’t hinder us if we want digital. Sure physical is a hair faster in load times, but digital has a gamble element with it. If they release new faster memory cards, digital could be faster. Newer systems might allow digital backwards play which means you don’t have to buy it again. I doubt these would happen but it’s the potential of digital format.
Please step up your game PSN US and fast. Especially before PS4 release which is another system that is going to be pushing digital.

I bought a 32gb memory card so I wouldn’t have to switch game cards.
Have my copy pre-ordered. Hopefully this pre-order bonus is running through Best Buy also, cause I got some Best Buy reward zone coupons I’m using towards this game.
@lisatsunami (#54) Lol I was doing the same, not playing the demo. I still haven’t played it yet, but since I need the demo’s saved data to get the spirit heart golem thing, I guess I’ll load it up like an hour before I go pick up my copy lol.
@TwinDad (#60) I think they didn’t mention that it is Day 1 digital because it is pretty much a requirement for all retail vita games to also be available on the PS store the day it comes out.

BTW, to those people who say just buy a physical copy and stop crying, I respect what you guys have to say, but everybody has their preferences. I only bought one game for my Vita in physical copy and I ended up selling it on eBay. I get my PSN money through rebates in my Playstation Credit Card for PSN money. That’s how I have bought almost all of my Vita games.
Correct me if I am wrong people, but didn’t the big publishers like Sony and Microsoft wanted to go all digital so retailers like Gamestop would stop buying used games, therefore eating at the studios’ revenues?

I’ve got to have the JP VO. The English VO, with that echo-y rasp, gives me the creeps and not in a good way. The text is so slow that you can easily keep up the reading anyway.

@lisatsunami It’s not a system seller. It’s a fine game for fans of the genre but the Demo didn’t wowr me and I canceled my pre-order after completing it. Not worth $40 to me personally – but I would pick it up if there is a deep discount at some point.
Not that it has any impact on me since I’m getting a physical copy anyway, but this is pretty ridiculous. Aram is telling people to wait until early next week for preorder details? The game comes out early next week ffs. You don’t wait until release day to tell people whether or not digital will get preorder bonus’. The whole thing really stinks for digital buyers, and it’s only our region that seems to have to deal with that kind of garbage.
Yes, I’m almost certain it’ll end up being that you’ll get the stuff for that first week if you buy digital, but asking people to gamble on that is unprofessional, disrespectful, sloppy. Are you trying to anger people into not buying what you have to offer? It really seems that way.
@cat9966, somebody earlier said it was a huge system seller in Japan, so much so that they’re already talking about a sequel. Not as huge as Persona4G, of course.. Everybody has different tastes, of course. Me, I hate platformers, FPS and turn-based fighting. In other words, almost all of last-gen, and too much a part of this gen.

Wow.. So many people ask the same questions over and over and over again on both US and EU blog in all 3 post. The simple answer is YES you will get the pre-order bonus no-matter where you get it from. Stores, digital, anywhere you can think of.
Also can understand why many here are complaining there is no pre-order. This is like a first time EU seems to even get a pre-order option before the US. You all seem to take it worse than we do when we don’t get that option at all which is pretty much like every time..
Anyway to topic,
I’m fighting a battle with Soul Sacrifice and it is beating me.
Now my choices are:
Save Money | Sacrifice Money
Don’t need a team to make that choice for me. They will only choose sacrifice anyway so I’ll make it myself.

You guys are the whiniest bunch of people I think i have ever seen. I would think you would have to PREORDER it to get the PREORDER bonus. If the game isn’t for preorder digitally then I would go with you not getting the bonuses. Oh and you a freaking week till the game comes out. Calm down. Won’t say its all perfect but Sony does alright by me. You guys really need some medication or something.
Oh and loving the game. So glad Vita is getting an amazing title. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for it.

By saying “at this time” and “will have more information for you soon” implies that digital pre-order is not completely out of the picture. EU PSN having pre-order option only reinforces that.
Will the dlc that came out in Japan come out over here in the U.S too? im 37 hours into this demo cant wait for the full game.
