PlayStation at E3 2013: Watch it Live Starting Monday

Sid Shuman's Avatar Posted by Director, SIEA Social Media

The legends are true! We’ll once again be livestreaming E3 worldwide over four gut-busting days during the videogame-iest time of the year. The live E3 broadcast (available in nine languages!) begins this Monday, June 10th at 5:30pm Pacific/8:30pm Eastern with the PlayStation E3 2013 Press Conference, the most exciting (and most Tweeted-about) event on the PlayStation calendar.

Then, starting Tuesday, June 11th at noon Pacific Time, we’ll kick off three days of our PlayStation LiveCast show featuring gameplay demos and developer interviews for zillions of upcoming PS4, PS3 and PS Vita games. Expect to see Beyond: Two Souls from Quantic Dream, Destiny from Bungie, DriveClub from Evolution Studios, The Evil Within from Tango GameWorks, Gran Turismo 6 from Polyphony Digital, inFAMOUS: Second Son from Sucker Punch Productions, Killzone: Shadow Fall and Killzone Mercenary from Guerrilla Games, The Last of Us from Naughty Dog, Tearaway from Media Molecule, Wolfenstein: The New Order from MachineGames and many, many more. All told, we’re planning to showcase more than 40 games across PS4, PS3 and PS Vita.

You’ll find the livestream right here on PlayStation.Blog, PlayStation.com, Ustream, a full-fledged virtual E3 booth complete with livestream in PlayStation Home, Facebook, and Google Plus. You’ll be able to watch E3 live directly on your PS3, too — look for the icon under your XMB’s What’s New section. PS Vita’s Nico Nico video app is in on the action too, supporting a feed of our E3 livestream. And if you’ can’t make the livestream, fret not: We’ll be heaping the live segments into PlayStation’s YouTube page as quickly as possible for later viewing.

Here’s the full live schedule; set those alarms and bookmarks!

Monday, June 10th | PlayStation E3 2013 Press Conference | 5:30pm Pacific Time
Tuesday, June 11th | PlayStation LiveCast show | 12:00pm to 6:00pm Pacific Time
Wednesday, June 12th | PlayStation LiveCast show | 10:00am to 6:00pm Pacific Time
Thursday, June 13th | PlayStation LiveCast show | 10:00am to 6:00pm Pacific Time

We could use a little help from you, too. Leave your questions for the games listed above in the comments below — we’ll post the best to the developers live (and yep, you’ll get full credit). We’ll be snagging questions from Twitter too, so it will pay to follow along live.

Oh. One. More. Thing.
Update: Thanks everyone, we are now at capacity!

See you June 10th.

@Guerrilla Games (Killzone Mercenary)

Do you guys think that Killzone Mercenary will be the BEST FPS on any handheld, EVER? And will the multiplayer experience be as close to a console-quality experience as we can get, on the PS Vita? How about the single-player experience?

OMG I found a way to get a PS4 early. Here is what you must do. Walk into the shop and buy two PS2s then you have yourself a PS4 OR buy a PS1 and PS3 (if you don’t have one already) and you would have a PS4. Enjoy!

As for games…Please For the Love Of All That Is Holy…Please tell me that we have changed the way the tactitian/tactical insertions work in Killzone Shadows Fall…Kz2 was great…Kz3 was a spawn camper’s paradise. Please tell me it’s a better insert than kz3’s.

@EvolutionStudios (DriveClub):

* Will there be visual or functional vehicle damage in the game (and is there a ‘vehicle maintenance’ component)?
* Describe the online component of the game in terms of finding other players and such.
* Where does the game sit between simulation and arcade racing?

* How will PS+ translate to the PS4? Will the program remain the same as what it is for the PS3, or will there be additional / different / alternative offerings (in terms of features and category of content) on PS4?

@95 I highly doubt you’ll be FORCED to use the social features. I think it’s common knowledge in this day and age that most gamers want to sit down, relax, and just be left alone at times. If the general public knows this, then I feel like Sony would obviously know this as well. After all, its their JOB to know their market. Just think: you have the OPTION to link your PS3 to your facebook. Nobody is forcing you to do it. I doubt they would change that on the PS4. To socialize has always been a CHOICE, rather we are talking about going to a bonfire or uploading a screenshot. People understand that, and I’m sure Sony does as well.

There are a few things that keeps the Vita to be a success:

1-It’s 250$ price tag, it needs to be 200$.
2-Cost of memory cards, 100$ is expensive for a 32Gb
3-It needs more AAA games, in order for that to happen, you need more sales, for that, the price has to be reduced.

Like I said, I want to transfer pictures/music/videos from PS3/PS4 without the need of an online connection.
65% of all americans don’t have internet, making it difficult to appreciate the Vita’s almost always need to be online connectivity.
Sure, you can play games ofline, but beyond that, there’s nothing more you can do unless you go to a wi-fi hotspot.
(Sure, you can play music and videos offline, but it can’t get any unless it’s connected.)
The Vita will undouptly have some cool online features with Remote Play, Cross Controller and Gaikai.
But do make it more flexible for us to get content from 1 platform to another.

Also, I’d wish there was a Play Memory app for PS4/PS Vita, with cloud capacities, any word on that?
While you’re at it, why not make the PS4/PS Vita 1-touch like you were talking about at CES this year.

TUNA-EGG said:

@118: What do you mean by the Vita needing an online connection to transfer videos/music/pictures? I was able to do all those without using the internet through the Vita cable, connected to either my laptop or PS3.

Please do more research before claiming things that are untrue.

CommandingTiger said:

June 6th, 10:16 am

Well, I own a Vita, and in order to transfer such files, it needs to be connected online, unless that has changed.
It is NOT the case for the PSP, you can transfer thoses files easily without a connection.
It tells me I have to sign in with my PSN ID, all the time, instead of just transfering them.
Both my PS Vita and my PS3 have to be logged in in order to make the transfer.

I’ll brb and try it offline, that it may haved changed with an update… brb.

CommandingTiger said:

June 6th, 10:30 am

nope, still need both the ps3 and the vita to be logged in to your PSN ID.

I got my PS3 almost since launch and I went several years without internet, dragging my Ps3 elsewhere to get an internet connection. Ever since I’m a Plus member, I’ve been keeping my internet nice and tight. But I can’t imagine someone wihout internet access liking this system, it’s very inconvenient. Beyond playing games (and games are rare) there isn’t much else to do, and for a 250$ device, we (even if I have internet now) offline mongers need a more concrete platform, I just don’t see why a PS3 and Vita can’t transfer files to one another without Internet access, I can understand for a PC, since Sony doesn’t want it to be hacked, but PS3 too?

All I hope is that they announce new Vitas and PS4 with 1-touch capacities to transfer files wirelessly.
I know it’ll stream files, but can it transfer?

CommandingTiger said:

June 6th, 10:35 am

I think you got confused with remote play, I’m talking about content manager.
Yes, you can use Remote-Play and Cross Controller on an Offline bases, but not content manager.

I sure hope Sony does not go the same path as Xbox One did with used games.

I said it b4, I always buy my games new, but that system just isn’t good for anyone who buys new, you can’t rent/trade/sell/give/borrow your games to anyone anymore on Xbox One. They might have ‘some’ explanation, but I’ve never been interested in Xbox since the 360. It’s punishing the gamer, so if your focus is the gamer Sony, then don’t do DRMs. Let MS do it, we should not follow their unique business model, we have our own nd it keeps getting better and better.

I want you to confirm you’ll not be doing the same stuff MS is doing. Every gamer on the planet does.

Sony, all of us gamers are praying and hoping you don’t make the same stupid mistakes Microsoft is making with regards to the next gen console… I have been reading the message boards and it’s very unfavorable for them regarding the Kinect requirement, requiring you to check into online every 24 hours and the entire used game fiasco… and leaving it up to publishers is simply a cop-out… I am definitely not buying an XboxOne, and Playstation4 had better show its true colors or I will abandon that as well.. I won’t have a problem sticking with PC games and whatever is left of the PS3 and Vita…

Sorry for being a rebel but I want to know about Freedom Wars. Is it being localized if so when can the west expect it. Is there going to be a limited edition to entice me to get it day1 and was this and Second Son made to purposely shine a light on the fact that X box one’s connect is always watching?

138- We can say it all day but people who don’t find out about this through the blog will just go where it says and it ends up being a nightmare of everyone claiming to be first. It would help if they put up a picture of the exact location but hopefully once there everyone can come to an understanding on the exact spot.

My only device that will be accessible to me is my Wii U. Would it be better to watch it at http://www.playstation.com or http://www.ustream.tv/playstation ? Will one of these work with Wii U?
