Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F on PS3

Today, SEGA is proud to announce that Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F is headed West! The game will arrive this August on both PlayStation 3 and Playstation Network in North America!

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F is a rhythm game featuring 38 unique songs, including popular tracks like Tell Your World and Black★Rock Shooter. Players can create and share their own Miku videos in “Edit Mode”, and can customize the popular diva with over 90 different costumes and 100 accessories. Being the first console game released for the franchise in the West, Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F will include all of the updated graphics, additional songs, and features of the Japanese version.

Hatsune Miku is the world’s most popular digital singer, produced by Crypton Future Media, INC. Her popularity continues to increase in the West and she has over 950,000 dedicated English speaking fans on Facebook. In 2011, she packed the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles for her first ever Western concert, and tickets sold out almost instantly. To gauge interest for Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F in the west, SEGA asked fans to like and share an image of Miku to pledge their support, and the response was astounding. In less than three days, the post received over 25,000 likes and 15,000 shares.

In short, it was your voices, as fans, that helped make this happen.

We’re thrilled to bring this title out for you, and we’re counting on your support. Tell Your World!

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F is slated for release on PlayStation 3 and via digital download on PlayStation Network in August 2013. If you’re excited to get your hands the game, you won’t have to wait too long – the demo will be available this Tuesday, June 11th!

If you’re excited about today’s news and if you have questions, please drop a comment below and I will respond to as many as I can! Thanks everyone!

Sega I would like to say. Thank you!!!!!! for bring Project Diva F to the USA! I am so going to get this game!

I only got 2 questions to ask.

    1. It will be available to pre order at retail stores like Gamestop, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, etc. any retail game store.

    2. When the demo is available is that when Project Diva F will be available to pre order? Honestly I think is when it will be available.

I don’t have a PS3 now but I am going to get one this summer and Project Diva F will be the first game I play on it! =D

  • Awesome that is getting localized. Any idea about the DLC? I want Haku.

  • Definitely gonna get this day one. Even though I already platinumed the Japanese Vita version I’d definitely buy the Vita version again.

  • I’m really glad to hear that this will be released in the states. I have the limited PSV version and the game is great. I was thinking about importing it for the longest time for the PS3 but was waiting for more news on a western release since it was showcased last year in the states for the PSV.

I wonder if there will be any pre-order bonuses or anything else. I was hoping that there could maybe be a cross-buy type of feature with the PSV version too but since the PSV version is not listed right now I would not think so. At least I will be able to play all the DLC included with the game too :3

    A couple questions though is..

    1. Will this game sync with the Japanese trophy set? My trophy set for this game has PS3&PSV listed under the name, so if I had gotten the Japanese PS3 version then it would share the same trophies from my PSV version.

    2. Will this play on the PS4? I’m guessing at least the digital version but it makes me want to know if I want to get the disk version if it will not play :<

    3. basically anything on PSO2 and Yakuza 5? lol

  • This version will have lyrics on romanji and english?

  • @bluekamikaze0807 Not going to have Kokoro. Only available with Project Diva Dreamy Theater 2nd (DLC for PS3 for the PSP game).

  • Any news of a possible CE version of the game?

  • I really want the vita version….

  • hi! I have been waiting for one of the miku titles to get localised for a while. yes I understand the game can be easily played without understanding the japanese, but i would, for once, love to try it in english :) Therefore, I am really happy to see this being localised so soon! :D

The issue I am having here (more of a feedback really) is that, at this time in my life, I only have 1 tv, 3 game consoles and 2 gamers in my house. Plus I work night shifts. I am largely playing on my vita because of all these factors and would seriously urge you to look at reproducing this on the Vita.

Also, I also use games as part of my “therapies” with my patients. You will be surprise how games help – and it’s always the cutesy games that does it. Please, consider this!

This is great news to hear about Project Diva F.

Guess that means that I would have to buy the US version to go alongside my JP version.
I couldn’t wait for SEGA to make this deicision back in 2012, so I managed to get the PS VIta version. In March, bought the JP version, and now in August get to get the US version.

Dedicated much? I think not. ^_^

  • Awesome.
I own the jp vita version myself, got nearly everything unlocked. Cant do extreme but meh.
I planned on picking up the ps3 jp one. Glad I held off.
Will we be getting any dlc?

Regardless, thanks for bringing pdf over.

  • I think if you guys were to publish it for Vita you should also make an English Patcher download for the people who imported it, of course it should cost $15 for the patch ( got to make money somewhere)

because even if it did come to Vita in USA
and i love miku very much, but i already platinumed the game, so to me there is no real reason to buy it again

  • will it connect with jp ver of the vita bc i have the jp ver vita game

  • this great news i can’t wait to buy both a physical and digital copy but there no demo it june 11 so were the demo? i really wanted to play the demo

  • I’m wondering what time the demo will be up. Just checked and it’s not there. Anyways I’m thinking maybe they could make a Vita version that was digital only.

  • hi i check there still no demo please let me play it please

  • Awesome!!! I already have the Japanese import of the game but what the hell, guess ill buy another copy :3

  • omfgyesss its up!!

  • I WILL DEFINITELY GET THIS SO HOPEFULLY THE VITA VERSION ALSO COMES OUT HERE!!! :D :D :D :D

  • I already played the demo! I’m so happy they didn’t try giving them english voices! The three songs they gave us was awesome! Too bad they didn’t at least add in a hard mode. Still, I can’t wait!!!!

i have been a big fan of the series, i own all the psp games, their ps3 counterpart, and both the psvita and ps3, version of project diva f, and i am happy that your doing something to bring the series over to america and europe, but in the demo the lyrics were all in Romaji, i hope that in the official release of this game you can change the lyrics to Japanese, Japanese Romaji, and english, not just Romaji, also why is the demo not in the new demo section? i had to search for it to find it in the store and was worried that the demo was not going to be their.

  • Will there be a limited edition? Gonna pre-order this now!

  • This is great!!! I already have the original via PSN, but I’m definitely getting this one too!!! Thank you so much SEGA!!!!!!. Now, one thing I would love to see on this is not only the romaji subtitles for each song (which is obvious that they are included from the video trailer), but the ability to select English subtitles for the songs as well. To be listen to the song in Japanese with the option for English subtitles would be awesome! I think it would help sell this game REALLY well.

  • MIKU <3 <3 <3
Even though I have both Project Diva "f" & "F"
I gladly buy both versions again to support the release of the American versions
I want Project diva 1, 2nd, and the dreamy theater series to \(OoO)/
    Keep Japanese games coming PSN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • YES!! FINALLY!! THANK YOU SEGA! XD

  • Where is this able to be bought? Other than digital.

  • I really am loving this , if Sony keeps on bringing jp games I personally will keep on buying the. The other thing I want to comment on is if the game has vita version bring it along to because you may know that I am not the only person how wants to see more vita games from japan in wish they have great title that we don’t get to play and not just in vita ,in ps3 as well. I also I understand Sony because if the bring stuff that wont sale as much they are not going to bring it, because it will be a waist and they would be losing money .

  • I love Hatsune Miku!!! This is great news!! any news on pso2?

  • LOVE the demo!!!!!

  • Already played the demo…cant get pass Standard on Rin’s and Miku and Luka’s song :( excited to get the full version.

  • All I can say about the demo is…KAWAII!!(i apologize in advance for and spellin errors.) i can say honestly say im damn happy about project diva comin over state side.Im so much a vocaloid nerd,(and im guessin like 80%-99% as well)i still have my Mikunopolis from her 1st US consent tucked away nicely in the blu-ray case with a “Vurtural-On” Muku guardin it with her leeks…I,m sorry kinda deralied ^^;.. about the demo. I Fan-griled squeed* and laughed my ass off playing World’s End Dance Hall mutiple times. A few of those times were Kaito and Len in the cat accoires. I laughed so hard the 1st time,my ribs were hurting. All-in-all,I’m glad that I the pre-order….

Noa i just have one question, will the subtitles be changeable in options,or will it saty the same as in the demo?
    Just out of curiosity.

    *Note:I’m a guy lol ^^-b

  • I played the demo for hours today. I LOVE it! Please, localize the vita version as well!

  • Would really REALLY love the vita version! as well as the dlc! I would definitely buy

  • SEGA, BRING ON YAKUZA 5!!!

  • yessssssssss!!!!! i love sega so much right. anyway are you going to give a per order bonus and release the DLC later? i am a little down since i just bought the vita one online oh well at least we will get the ps3 one and maybe the vita one will come over as well.

  • it’s going to be in mexico too? i want it

  • I love the game but i don’t really think i’ll be playing it on a tv screen much. I’d much prefer playing it on the go.Hoping for a vita release!~

  • oh well… I imported the project diva F like a month ago, anyway I will buy the localized version too and I hope more games come to America soon, just a comment, I downloaded the demo yesterday and the lyrics are shown in romaji, it would be great if we had the option to display the English-translated lyrics too.

  • Wow, Hatsune Miku in North America I never though this would ever happen! I will buy it day one =D i was looking at the game not long ago on the vita, too bad its on PS3 but still, i will get it for sure!! =) thank you sega! still hoping for the ps vita version, because i love playing on my vita! x)

  • Will the release date in the US be the same release date in Asia? Please say yes. :D

  • August huh? Looks like I’m going to be having another game to pick up alongside Tales of Xillia and Dragon’s Crown. It’s gonna be a fine month.

  • So good to have the PD F in th west, i hope sega put the PS vita too. Cuz they will win more Money selling both versions, the demo was awsome, cant wait for the full game, i hope to see a good prize of this one.

  • Game looks interesting, haven’t been a whole lot of rhythm games as of late.

Im kind of done buying PS3 games though, I wish this was on Vita. At least a digital release for Vita.

  • A big shout out to Aaron Webber for composing this article and sharing the good news!

As a fan of rhythm games and a fan of the VOCALOID platform, I couldn’t help but pick up the Project Diva series. I own each release to date, and I can honestly say it has grown better and better from game to game and from PSP to Vita and PS3. The overall content, quality, and appearance has seen tons of improvements, taking the game to a whole new level with Project Diva F. Though I already own Project Diva f on the Vita and Project Diva F on the PS3, I’ve had money aside for the US release since the campaign started on Facebook. I must admit, I enjoy the portability of the Vita version, though I am also captivated by the graphics displayed in the PS3 version. That aside, both versions look stunning. After playing the US demo, I was pleased to find that this release looks and feels exactly like that of the JP release, which is perfect for those who want a US release with all the features of the JP game.

Thanks again to Aaron Webber for delivering this information in such an energetic, yet professional manner, and even for showing support through replies to the other readers.

  • Please tell me the western release will also have PoPiPo in it ;_;

  • Add my voice/vote for a PS Vita version. Although I am absolutely thrilled and happy that we’re getting the game on any kind of platform. My interest is more in the editor than in the gameplay, so I’m counting on that being included as well.

  • I Heard them say “Updated Graphics” If i’m thinking right does that mean the graphics will be similar with the “Dreamy Theater” series?

  • I have downloaded the demo, AWESOME!! thank you so much, SEGA!! I was dreaming of this since de first Project Diva came out! *-* also it would be awesome to have a PSVita version, and Dreamy theater 2nd extend for ps3 with the DLCs and maybe a PSVita version of the previous project diva games as if it was a remake because I know LOTS and LOTS of fans still want to play those songs and couldn’t import the games, sorry if all this sound too demanding :C but I speak in behalf of ALL Vocaloid fans over the world when I ask you for all of this

Thank you for you time, we REALLY appreaciate it! n_n

  • Its about time we start getting some more of the Japanese games in the western countries. I’ve already downloaded the demo and loved it. I am so hyped for this right now.

Just wondering will there be physical copies of this shipped to the UK? I’ll still get it either way but would be nice to know if it is though.
