I have a 500GB HDD and no problems, if your PS3 is having problems, DON’T FORMAT YOUR HDD, wait until they fix this, it’s very likely you can re-update the system in the safe-mode screen, so DON’T panic just yet.
@180 Saints Row the third is not repeated, they gave The Second game before, now its the third.

I’m guessing Sony pulled the plug with the update since it hasn’t asked me to do the mandatory update. I have the old phat PS3 and i go in and out of the store with no problems. Do not update your console until Sony solve the issue!!!
The update has indeed been completely pulled. If I try to update via internet, it tells me I’m on the latest firmware, and under my SysInfo, it shows 4.41… glad they pulled it, as I’m running a 640GB drive, so I’d most likely have been bricked. Which would have pissed me off, as I’m gonna finish my Remember Me plat tonight and start on Saints Row: The Third.
Ah well, good luck to those who updated. Hopefully Sony will have some info and a fix available soon.

I wouldn’t buy Jak and Daxter Collection on Vita. I played my friends. The frame rate is so bad it was unplayable. Glad I didn’t buy it.
I don’t mind seeing PS2 classics ported to the Vita. Any chance we can get some awesome ones like God of War, SSX, Dark Cloud, Tekken 6 and the list goes on.
I would spend money on upgraded Vita ports of PS2 games rather than the flood of all these small casual indie titles.
Thats just me though.
I didn’t read the blog today so sys update was complete surprise & I dutifully complied around 7 pm PST, no problems on my upgraded-to-500 gig slim. But a couple hours playing TLOU & was kicked off network & couldn’t log on. But after reading blog now, I tried again and all is well.
I feel bad for those who reformatted.
Hi Sony. An update would be nice. Currently sitting with a $300 paperweight and thousands of dollars of worthless digital content and discs.
Let’s see how long Sony sits on this one. It’s clear whoever is in charge of the firmware updates forgot that people DO upgrade their hard drives. My 750GB is bricked. While I was able to place my 160GB in the same PS3 and it worked just fine.
My 1TB hard drive better not be toast or sony will be buying me a new one. it’s already bad enough i had to format the entire thing

I have a suggestion for the PS+, I think that the game Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams would be a good addition to the program. It’s a great Indie Game. I play It on Steam and it’s very funny.

Also if you want EU PS+ deals that much – create Eu account and have joy of paying up to 50% more for digital content on PSN.

I updated my firmware approx 9:45 pm (EST), and have 640gb drive, and it crapped out. Called customer support and they took me through the safe mode file system rebuild which ultimately led to reformat hard drive. The customer service cat was just going through his routine so no knock on him, it’s just unfortunate, because my download list looks ridiculously long.
Thanks for the update. I’m probably in the minority, but I wouldn’t mind more PS+ emphasis on discounts for new releases (like Jak and Daxter) rather than new additions to the IGC. Games that have, say, a first-month or first-week discount make me more likely to pick them up.

@199 and 220 im right there with you, I barrowed all of them from a friend to only find out my version of ps3 doesn’t play ps2 games. That was a huge disappointment.
PS: What the hell is going on ??? All my friends in France can get each game seperately on Vita, but i cannot on the US store ?????
And all that purchased the Collection on PS3 can get it on Vita for Free ????

I’d recommend the Jak Collection for Vita owners now. It’s pretty fun if you want Jak on the go. Don’t expect it to be 60 FPS at all like the PS3 version.

Each region has their own set of rules with games..
It’s not cross-buy because it was re-made and reoptimized for the Vita with its own touch screen controls and trophies.

You sir are an idiot, you say they get 3 full awesome games but we get **** ,if you havent noticed we got saints row yesterday and in the past got payday the heist. plus i wouldn’t call XCOM and Uncharted 3 ****, which we got last week.
in regards to the system update failure. i did the update last night before it was pulled and had no issues. had no idea what was going on at the time. hope they get a fix out soon for those affected by this.

you’re an idiot cause they’ll get all these games in 1 update and they never got these ones yet that’s why they’re gettin it now. I’m not talkin about the titles, I’m talkin about the NUMBER of good FULL games which is 3. They got Uncharted and XCOM as well so that even makes it 5, plus 2 games for Vita so that makes 7 games for them in 1 month pretty much. I’m stupid that I didn’t get EU plus, like everyone else who didn’t cause it’s just better offer.

I lost all my things back in november 2012 because my HDD corrupted then I upgraded to a 1TB beast…Sony I’m a old loyal PS costumer…you better not come up with something that ends up in formatig the HDD.Because my PS3 went bricked after the damned update.Waiting for a fix eagerly…one day without playing almost ends in abstinence crisis.lol
