We’re putting the finishing touches on July’s PlayStation Plus lineup by welcoming Dokuro! The PS Vita exclusive that captured the hearts of many can be yours, free as part of your PS Plus membership. Also, PixelJunk Monsters: Ultimate HD for PS Vita is on sale for its launch week!

With all the PS Vita love, our friends at Rockstar decided to balance things out by putting a huge discount on one of the most intense action games of 2012. PS Plus members can grab Max Payne 3 for $7.99, or the Ultimate Edition for just $11.99. Action game lovers who may have not been able to play it last year: do not miss this one.

    Whoa, Max Payne 3 for $8 is insane. One of the best games from last year. I already have it on disc, but, may very well just buy the digital version.

    Phenomenal, Mr. Haro. Dokura is an excellent game. I actually played it on a friend’s Vita and I loved it. I had a big feeling that this was going to come on the Vita as a PS Plus game, and I’m glad I waited. I’m very pleased that the PS Plus program for the US has been getting better and better. Thank you again for your hard work and listening to the fans. I appreciate it!

      Thanks for the support and hope all the PS Vita Plus members get a chance to enjoy Dokoro. It really is quite fun, but super charming and has some really fun gameplay. Though some of those puzzles will definitely stop and make you think!

      You know, I haven’t played Monsters myself, but everyone around me always tells me I’m missing out. From how this new Vita version is looking, I think it’s time to jump on it. It’s got a great reputation in the gaming community so I’ll hop on it if you do! That launch week Plus discount won’t hang around forever.

    You know, you guys suck. I’m currently working on finishing Velocity Ultra, playing through (and obsessively S-ranking) Stealth Inc, and I really need to get back to both Knytt Underground and Hotline Miami. I already have Dokuro in the backlog, so that won’t be piled on top of everything else this week, but you had to go and have a discount this week on PixelJunk Monsters. Seriously. One man can only play so much.

    Any sort of teaser of a game we will be getting next month? Just one game? :D EU is getting NFS and Mafia 2 which I would love to see as well for us. Would be different than getting another FPS.

    Also, Any way we could get more full games some months than the 3-4 small psn games? I have no problem with getting them but it does get kind of old getting 3-5 small psn games each month. Switching it up a little more would be something to look at. For example, maybe a PS1 or PS2 classic one month to replace one of the psn games or have another full game to replace it.

    Max Payne will be mine. You made this a great update. More Ultimate games should have these types of sales. Thank you. And for anyone who hasn’t played Dokuro, It is a quality game and could have been a cartridge game. If it had more advertisement behind it, it could have been a system seller.

      We’re going to be keeping the drops every week for the time being, but still be giving the month outlook so you know what’s coming. We’ll have more news on August next week.

    got dokuru last winter during a psn sale, great game. I’m going to have to get another $20 psn card , that will get me pixeljunk monsters and max payne 3 . great update, maybe the best this summer so far . Thanks Sony , keep up the good work

    thx for the game. but i would appreciate that next month we vita users, dont get any psp game and all games vita version only, be it a small downloadable title or a retail game. rayman origins vita would be nice , or mgs vita

    Definitely getting Dokuro for sure. Really tempted at the amazing price sale for Max Payne 3 though. Hope the PS Plus updates on Monday continue to be this early. =)

    For some reason, I keep thinking tomorrow is August 1st, and therefore, that we would be getting the August update today. It’s not…

    My hopes for August: Tales of Graces F (to go along with Xillia) and/or Tekken Tag 2 (to go along with the Revolution update).

    Woohoo! Nothing better than getting a discount on a game I planned on buying no matter what. Very pumped for playing some Monsters again.

    And Dokuro is a great free game. I hope everyone enjoys it. I love the art and it’s very challenging. Great for short bursts of playing too.

    Playstation Plus makes me so glad to own a Vita… I’ve had my eye on Dokuro for awhile, but I’ve been too busy finishing off my other Vita IGC games. Now I’ll have a good excuse to play it.

    Considering the rather weak store update this week, PS+ is a ray of shining light.

    If I can throw in my 2 cents on suggestions — a PS+ mega-sale on top-rated PSX, PS2, PSP and PSN backcatalog titles would be awesome. There are so many good games available on PSN that I just forget about because the Store interface is so clunky and there are so many titles to browse. Sales help to bring those games back to the forefront.

    Also, Max Payne 3 for 8 bucks? And the Ultimate Edition for $12? Even the recent Steam Sale never beat that deal. Way to go, Playstation Network!

      can’t say that’s not going to happen. I’ve mentioned this before but through working with the community, we have seen that a good chunk of the Plus population do like the PSP content, despite what you may see here in the comments some weeks. But we’re working on making sure that the PSP games that do come are as interesting as possible. That’s just the status quo for now though, and we may change things up as we move forward.

    Is there a big difference between the regular version and the ultimate (Max Payne 3)? I know the ultimate edition comes with extra things, but I’m more about single player and DLCs that give you a reason to come back to the game.

    Also, fantastic discount for Max Payne 3, I already played it though.

    Well, WRC 4 will be released in October for Vita and PS3. Is there any chance of WRC 3 be available in IGC or discounted for VITA and PS3?

    $12 for Max Payne 3 sounds tempting. Might as well try Dokuro, since it didn’t look like something i wanted to pay over $9.99 for.

    Btw, please try to get us a plus discount for Tales of Xilia next week. Considering how neglectful you guys have been with rpgs in the IGC (despite it winning that genre poll you guys took earlier this year), it would be a great step in at least acknowledging the genre.

    To the Vita owners who complain about PSP games being part of the IGC or why don’t they put more VIta games on the IGC.

    You do realize that there aren’t all that many Vita games to begin with? What do you guys want them to put every single Vita game on the IGC? Stop being cheap and buy them if you want them so badly.

    Also $11.99 for the Ultimate version of MP3, what a steal. I’m also curious what the differences are between the different versions. If all that is included is some MP stuff then I’ll just the normal one.

    Hate having to wait a week before finding out what we get next month lol, I just hope there aren’t any shooters we got too many shooters with psn+ already, something like Twisted Metal, ICO collection, Cathrine, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, Valkyria Chronicles or Dragon’s Dogma would be more appreciated then more over saturated shooters.

    @ Morgan; resently ive notice that there are many (sony 1st & 3erd party games), that came out in the ps3 early years, like SIREN, valkyria chronicles, adn other games (called hidden gems that didnt sell god), like: prince of persia (the 1st of the current gen), enslaved, etc… Am shure that gamers would love to play this games, or have special discount on them

    Max Payne 3 Ultimate Edition for $11.99 is Amazing, better than Steam Summer Sale, we need more sales like this.

    And Haro, I really like BomberMan, but US$ 9.99 for BomberMan ultra is very expansive, is more than Max Payne 3. There any prevision to sale this game or give to us in IGC?

      Bomberman certainly has a special place in my heart, but I don’t know if there are any plans for those games to be a part of Plus. You may want to try raising the suggestion on Konami’s channels

    Huge let down where’s a game for ps3??in all kind nice plus needs Tiers,,last week we got a vita game!!very few people post who have plus and a lot of people do not own a vita ,,its probably a beast little system but I don’t have a beast of a wallet:-) guys at plus mucho love but let’s get tiers going,,who is gonna want ps3 games when ps4 is out”or who wants a ps4 game who hasn’t gotten a ps4 yet lucky for me I preordered :-) all I’m saying tiers will benefit all like ps3”ps4 tier regular and for one big game a month add premium I would pay more make vita a tier on its own or make a package I just hate that these last 2 weeks vita vita Boo get off da stage!!still tho love plus future reference vita booo get off the stage ps3 :-)

      define worthwhile. and then you’ll find that everyone has a different definition of what a worthwhile PSP game is ^__^ For some, they loved Metal Slug XX last week, others, it wasn’t their cup of tea; and that’s kind of just the way it goes no matter the platform, right? We do our best to provide as interesting content as we can secure with our partners, as well as offer up great discounts, and services like cloud saves, auto updates, etc to deliver the most value we can for your membership. I think you’ll find that over the time you have Plus, it delivers, but I don’t think the PSP games are leaving the lineup anytime soon. Take heart and thanks for your feedback!     sony you guys said playstation plus was for vita and ps3 so listen to those of us who went out and bought a vita

    we do not want psp games for our vita from playstation plus.

    we want real vita tittles just like eu has been getting from day 1 since ps+ started for vita
