DuckTales Remastered

DuckTales Remastered takes the classic Disney platforming adventure to a whole new level. All of the visuals from the 8-bit game have been beautifully re-created as hand-drawn and animated sprites, across a backdrop of luscious, re-envisioned level backgrounds.

Furthermore, original Disney Character Voices talent, including some from the cartoon TV series, bring in-game characters to life with charm and wit, while the classic melodies of the original soundtrack are given a modern twist. The game also features an all new tutorial level where players can get familiar with the iconic pogo jump and cane swing, while Scrooge McDuck’s Museum allows players to track all their stats and compare their progress with others via global leaderboards.

  • I wouldn’t pay a dime for Fruit Ninja. I am positive that it will eventually become a free PS Plus game, which is disappointing since everyone and their mother own that game. PS Plus EA needs to get serious about what it is offering people. This month ranks right up there with the month when we received Chronovolt. A fighter, a pinball game, and Machinarium, which was already given to all PS3 owners. People don’t want repeat games. People are tired of fighters. And people are growing weary of pinball games now. Frustrating.

  • @ezeka, Fruit Ninja and BreakQuest are both FREE

  • @23) We got Trine 2 for 4 bucks two weeks ago. I got it on Steam, complete, for 3 bucks.
GOW Collection was in sale too, same about Joe Danger and Little Big Planet.

  • So when are we going to get Vita games that people will actually want to play? God what a failure of a portable. The pastures are really greener on the much weaker portable with the 3D capabilities.

  • Nothing on this drop interests me this time around. Also requesting Suikoden II, as per my usual weekend ritual.

  • @46 Portable Ops would still suck. People asking for MGS PO really shouldn’t look forward to it It is a terrible game even if they fixed the control scheme. You are forced to recruit by dragging their bodies all the way back to the trucks or have someone else do it. It’s a bad format of chess that shouldn’t have been implemented to the game. The only good thing about the Ops was the story.

  • Let´s talk about the “has no games” = PS VITA =D

Open Me! … I saw the Japanese version!.. The game is NICE!

    A-Men … … Nothing to say!

Fruit Ninja = Another mobile game… I´ll only get if it it is free! … … The “Fruit brains Ninja” present in Mortal Kombat mini-game for Vita is more fun than this! LOL!

    ===================

DuckTales Remastered = PERFECT to play in PSVita… annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd…

    NO VITA VERSION! =FACEPALM! >:[

  • Quite a number of Vita titles… but Ducktales isn’t one of them… :/

At least I’ve got Dragon’s Crown to tide me over until SpelunkyHD comes up. BTW, Any concrete release date for SpelunkyHD?

  • Fatal Frame 3. That’s all I ask for.

  • So excited for DuckTales! The game was a little bit before my time, but I loved a lot of the old Disney licensed Sega games that followed in its wake and DuckTales was a major (major major, Major) part of my childhood, so I’m really stoked to play it.

  • Ducktales WooHoo! Can’t wait, even more than PS+ freebies !

  • Why doesn’t BreakQuest show “(for PS Vita)”? It’s for PS Vita… Get it together Rey. You’re getting too lazy, or too busy (not sure with what) to put together the Drop in a proper way each week.

I swear, each week is filled with errors and lack of information (or proper information…) on games.

  • I would totally be up for ducktales… if they alter the controls or give us options… as fun as the game was, holding down was such a pain to use the pogo stick cane. The original NES had two buttons, one was to jump, the other was to hit certain objects when standing in front of them. why couldn’t you use that same button to activate the cane in mid-air? there was no other use for that button aside from swinging your cain! and that only worked on the ground next to something that you could push!

now we have 10 buttons available to us! if pogo doesn’t have at least one alternate button, I’m not getting the game.

that my friends, is the one major flaw with the original game in my opinion, and is a deal breaker for me…

also, give us chip and dale remastered!

  • khaosklub – you shouldn’t assume about things you don’t know about. DuckTales has different options for the controls. Only in hardcore mode are you required to press down to pogo.

  • Why did you remove all the comments that pointed the (now corrected) Open Feint-enabled Fruit Ninja error? Is that a common blog practice, deleting comments that show your mistakes?

  • @56 That’s not true, actually. You could just drag them to the nearest hiding point, hide in your box and have one of your other soldiers call for evac. Still tedious I’ll admit but not nearly so tedious as having to drag them all the way to the truck. And while the game definitely had its share of problems I don’t think it was terrible by any means

  • dude wheres Castlevania Curse Of Darkness?????

  • Viva ducktales! keep it up for 25 to 35 men with little time to troll the comments and play ridiculously long games and complaint, we will just keep up voting with our disposable income!, the children of the 2000 would keep on whining in the forums.

  • Nice Drop. What happened to PSone classics?

  • Will saints Rhode 4 be a day one digital

  • Row

  • Go back and fix all the other blog posts now. :D The Red Star still has the description of PTOIV on it from last weeks drop. Who else is playing Xillia here? That games is sexah!

  • @july161986 I have 3 kids (13,9 and 3 years old) and the 9 years one is waiting so much this game.

  • @Doc_Tury I’m 38 years old and I can’t wait to play Duck Tales again :). By the way, I’m mexican too.

  • Shame Duck Tales is not coming to the VITA, I was excited for my son to play something that I myself had played when I was a kid.

I only let him use my VITA.

  • Will the “Fruit Ninja” have trophies?
    It would be awesome!

  • I would have bought DuckTales at launch for Vita. Now I’ll be waiting for the Steam Winter Sale. Stupid Capcom!

  • @neuropunk
nothing being assumed here, simply stating that IF the game doesn’t have an alternate control scheme, I’m not getting it, and if it does, then I will buy it.

the original NES game is so annoying to play because of that.

  • Payday 2 Mars war logs and Open me all look pretty cool

  • No new classics this week?

  • My excitement levels for Ducktales Remastered have reached 200%!

I even dug out my NES and the original version of this game a few weeks ago to help prep my brain cells so as to get maximum enjoyment from the remake.

  • @80 You don’t consider Ducktales a classic?

  • @56 I already have Portable Ops on UMD, but my PSP died a couple weeks ago. I actually enjoy the game, it may not be the cup of tea for everyone but it is to some. If there are people who would gladly buy the game and enjoy it, doesn’t those people deserve at least a chance as customers to obtain it for a platform that is already running the game everywhere else in the world but here?

  • @82, I meant a PSone or PS2 classic. Obviously, Ducktails is also exciting, but there’s usually been one or two of the others each week, and I’d be a little disappointed if they’re done adding titles, because there are quite a few that still deserve it, especially on PS2.

  • Will I be able to download my preordered Payday 2 tonight at midnight?

  • whre is t@g???? where is t@g where is t@g where is t@g where is t@g where is t@g where is t@g where is t@g where is t@g where is t@g where is t@g where is t@g??????????

  • I say again where is t@g????

  • Yes, I have the same question as #85! Will we be able to get Payday tonight at midnight or do we have to wait until the store updates tomorrow afternoon?

There is no “IF” about it. DuckTales HD DOES have an alternate control scheme. Only on the most difficult mode does it force you to hold down to pogo. Seriously, look it up if you do not believe me, but it has already been confirmed.

  • Ducktales has been getting glowing reviews. . . .

  • Hoe much for DuckTales and Open Me?

  • Yes Fruit Nimja!

  • man this week of PSN is going to leave me broke….

  • are we gonna be able to preorder saints row IV on the network today?

  • Duck Tales!!!!

    WOOHOO!

  • ONCE AGAIN, whereTF is the list of “DLC” at?!!!! If is isn’t “Injustice”, then it’s LAME(my opinion) Why is DLC NEVER EVER LISTED?! Boy, I bet PSN has it listed when ol’ “TRENDY” “COD” has 1 of those “PLAYED” map packs ready for release, huh? Let me “chalk up” some more reasons to go “X-Box” when next-gen. consoles come out.All well.

  • DuckTails preordered it last week while buying Tales of Xilia ^) Show was one of the best Disney ever did shame for them that they don’t make cartoons same quality anymore One game worth much more in emotions than 90 minutes cartoon not just one a few at times

  • This is BS Sony Me and My Nephew share the same PS3 console and i bought it on his account. I really didnt think it was a big deal. But when i started looking for the Pre ordering info it says this game can only be played by the purchasing account!!!! WHAT!?!?!?!?!? Your telling me i spent my hard earned money on this game and i cant even play it on my own account! Sony you better fix this!!!!!!

  • I Pre-Ordered Duck Tales last week, I still have to pick up Dragon’s Crown this week for PS3 Don’t have a Vita yet will get one sometime.

  • Nice drop….I’ll be picking up Duck Tales and Payday 2 eventually but not now….I got no money for them….Open Me looks decent and Fruit Ninja should be free…was eagerly waiting for Saints 4 Inauguration Station but I already downloaded last week from european Store and I was quite disappointed. Also I gotta watch Olympus has Fallen…Morgan Freeman and Gerard Butler…ha that combination cant go wrong.
