The Drop: Week of August 26th 2013 New Releases

On PS3 Blu-ray and a full digital download on PSN, Killer Is Dead is the latest title from the demented mind of celebrated game creator, SUDA51, serving as a spiritual successor to his previous cult favorites, No More Heroes and Killer 7.

Stylish cell-shaded visuals set the mood in this gritty, bloody, ultra-violent world where biomechanical augmentations increase the power of criminals and “executioners” alike. Mondo Zappa, a newly recruited executioner, hunts criminals wielding a Japanese sword in his right hand, and the crushing power of biomechanical engineering in his left.

Enjoy this week’s The Drop!

killerisdeadKiller is Dead

(Also on PSN) — A reputable execution agency’s newest recruit, Mondo Zappa, takes center stage as he stalks and beheads a wide variety of heinous criminals all across the world (and even, perhaps, outside of it). As he settles into his new job, he also comes to terms with his own inner demons, balancing his talent for dispensing swift and brutal justice with his fleeting memories of a traumatic past, and peppering it all with his many sensual conquests.

Be he a killer, a lover or a gigolo, his many tales of passion and brutality begin with his appointment at Bryan´s Executioner Office. A whole world of pain and pleasure awaits, and there’s no telling where it might take him next…

The comments are people to voice their opinion. If they are upset about not having crash and spyro on the vita they have every right to say so.

  • ….is prject diva f for my vita?…..please

  • AT LAST!!! PROYECT DIVA F!!! YES!!!!

  • Pes 2014 demo? isn’t a mistake?

  • When will we receive promotional credit from Play 2013?

  • Hey justin, there will be 3 free months of PS PLUS with 1 year purchase like EU? please say yes !! thanks

  • Decent week coming up. Looking good

  • Wait wait wait where’s ATELIER MERURU PLUS??

  • @JPG2105 I thought comments are meant to talk about whatever the subject of the blog is. And this one is everything that is coming out this week. I guess you can go off-topic because no one can stop you, but that doesn’t mean it won’t annoy others. I just think neuropunk’s suggestion for a feature to organize digital games is more logical than having very old titles like Crash or Spyro for Vita.

  • pro evolution soccer 2014 demo out this week for real?

  • For all the people asking about Atelier Meruru Plus its supposed to come out September 3, along with Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate.

  • Fatal Frame 3 PS2 Classic. Please.

  • Are we getting Rayman Legends on PSN for VITA next week?

  • Haven’t heard anything about killer is dead, just looked it up on IGN, game looks rad. Oh and the killzone mercenary beta on vita is awesome, everyone should check it out.

  • @Gamerzlimited
you think I don’t get what you’re saying? I said I own the original UMD it’s kinda obvious what you mean, and it STILL makes no sense, it’s not about the action Crash can do, it’s about the game, Your logic is because he can do the same spin attack Crash fans should be happy? You go play that, we want the BEST 4 crash games, the PSOne classics that are on PSN. You really think you can justify anything you have to say? You can’t the PS Blog is made for criticism as well as anything else, you can stop acting like a troll, since you’re satisfied with that one crash game, keep out of it. I don’t get why someone who doesn’t care chooses to complain about complains, kinda a contradiction don’t you think?

  • also the alphabetical sorting complaint is also completely valid, cause you don’t care doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be added. Are you 5, cause I can only see someone really young saying something something so ignorant.

  • Oh and also, is hatsune miku for ps3, vita or both?

  • @Teflon02 Obviously, you don’t understand the point. Who cares if you own the original UMD or not? I’m not talking about Crash doing the same attack, I’m talking about the “experience.” I’m just trying to tell people that you can still have that “experience” temporary. And there was no sentence I ever said that I was satisfied with CTTR, it was just only a temporary situation until those games are Vita ready. Don’t play dumb with me. You must be still in elementary school, so I’ll stop as long as you stop being an idiot. I love how you are trying you to provoke an argument, but fail miserably.

  • DIABLO III Demo? Theme? Avatars?
    ESCAPE PLAN DLC SALES?

  • We want Crash Bandicoot and Spyro Classics on PS Vita!

  • I thought Mickey Mouse Castle of Illusion was releasing this week…

  • Hatsune Miku Project Diva F yeah! !!!! i love music games !!! :D

  • Any chance Lost Planet 1 and 2 would come to PSN? I want to start playing the series from start but can’t find Lost Planet 1 at any local store (not in US).

  • IS PES 2014 really coming this Wednesday? I Just want to be sure because they said it would be out on the 11th September?

  • Please bring Hatsune Miku Project Diva F to the Vita so I can play a portable version of it in a language that I
understand. Also, please bring Braid, Super Meat Boy, FTL: Faster Than Light, and Bastion to the Vita. These games would no doubt, sell well, and make Sony money. Is Runner 2 still coming out in “summer 2013”? Thanks.

  • Sucks!! i don`t like it you know WHY GUYS!! JAPANESE GAMES SUCK!!!!!! because still no mortal kombat games AAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

  • AAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I don`t like IT!!!!

  • PES 2014???

  • PS4 games pre-order?!? Nothing yet? I want to go digital for most of the games :)

  • Question about killzone mercenary:
What progress in demo (beta) lost in the final version. Anyone know about this?

  • WOW!! Hatsune Miku, Killer is Dead, Lost Planet 3… SICK DROP this week!!! And here I was worring that SRIV and Mars: War Logs were the only help for killing the time between now and GTAV

Also, on a side note. Guys & gals, *PSN* I bought L.A.Noire like last week “taking advantage of that 75% off I got with preordering GTAV”, but anyway, I have downloaded it 5 times now and everytime I try and install it, it gets to about 14% and then errors out, I did a little research and people have been having this problem for like, a year! So I will most likely be calling and getting a refund, but ya’ll really should try and pull it off of PSN since it doesnt work, I’m not mad or anything, just giving everyone a heads up! :-)

  • nothing good this week for me. Hopefully you guys will finally start taking preorder for One Piece PW2. its only a week away and EU has had it for preorder for almost a month.

  • Thank you so much for fixing the blog post for Miku, Justin! You’re the man!! :)

  • Demo: “Pro Evolution Soccer 2014”

    That’s all that I need this week… :)

  • I’m really loving all this Miku / Project Diva love!! :D I already bought it for PS3 at the Japanese launch and am hoping that this one sells really well so that SEGA brings over the Vita version (which I will absolutely buy, and likely the PS3 one again if there’s cross-save support!). Does anyone know if the English version of Project Diva shares the same Trophy list as the Japanese one?

Also Killer is Dead looks pretty cool, I hope that there’s a demo to try soon

  • Killer is Dead for me….its a must buy…and also Spelunky and Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 demos…overall nice drop.Anybody can tell me if that Rotating Octopus game is the same of a mini with a similar name?…..cuz if it is…then I’m buying it.

  • Is Hatsune Miku Project DIVA F going to be coming to the PSN store to buy tomorrow or will I have to go buy it at gamestop? owo

  • When can we get SPELUNKY on the UK store? It is the only game I want to get in this “Drop”.

Also, WHERE is Rayman Legends demo for UK store? Seriously, why does EU get 3rd rate treatment when Rayman Legends is made by an EU studio?

  • We should get Rule of Rose

  • I am very sad! No Madden for the Vita???????

Just more proof the handheld is dying……..

We want the same annual games that came out with the PSP…. Madden and most important WWE for the Vita.

  • C’mon KOEI, let’s get ROTK VII or VIII!

  • Charge whatever you need! Those would sell at $70 a pop.

  • Don’t ever mess with the otaku Justin Massongill !!
If you disrespect or make a mistake with any of their waifu, they’ll jump right down your throat. I say this like I’m above waifus =/ I’m not =D

  • So the vita version of PJD:F will come out later than its successor….

  • Common sony, i keep waiting for Blood Omen and Crash bandicoot saga, also you sould improve the cross controller (PS3/Ps Vita), i want my ps vita as another control, you promise at 2012. Common

  • @Gamerzlimited
I don’t get the point? You contradict yourself AGAIN, how can I not get the point? I’m ONE of the people who complain about it not being present. Me owning the CTTR is meaningful because umm.. I don’t know, I’ve been experiencing the game since it’s release on PSP. Because Crash Spins DOES NOT mean you are getting the experience of the first three and Crash Team Racing. You wanna call me elementary, YET I’m clearly grown, only a kid would be complaining about a comment they can skip and think only they are entitled to complain. You have NO valid point, you are clearly just hating on the fact you see the comments, but guess what? We still complain and do what we are doing why? Cause people like you think that a opinion validates BS, but you know what, even if it’s a opinion, it doesn’t mean it isn’t dumb, and that’s what your complaint is, it’s been a year and they still are not present, which is even more reason to say something. Also I know EXACTLY what you are trying to say, BUT it is completely dumb and irrelevant, if that was what ANYONE cared about then it would have been resolved LONG TIME AGO.

  • Question 4 anyone out therw. Dose anybody know if the money & progress made in Killzone mercenary carries over from the beta 2 the actual game? If so, that’s so awsome. Also anybody who hadn’t played the beta, should. It truly is 1 of the best looking hand-held games ever. Almost PS3 quality graphics on a hand-held. Oh & nice Drop BTW! Looking 4ward 2 checking out Killer is Dead.

  • hey Rey, where’s Real Boxing? It is supposed to be dropping August 27th.

    Actually, it is.

Not when it gets to the point of disruptive posting, which it had… a long time ago.
