More Great Games Coming to PlayStation via Third Party Production Team

Borderlands 2 on Vita

Hello Gamers,

Moments ago, Adam Boyes introduced the latest addition to the Third Party Relations family at Playstation, a new group that I get to captain called Third Party Production. The Third Party Relations team at PlayStation is well known for developing solid relationships across this industry, and this new group will work closely with our publishing partners to bring their beloved IPs to some new places. This means you’ll see even more great games on PlayStation platforms, including new IP’s, ports, and localized products. In addition, our partners who are currently in production will have us as a resource to strengthen their development process, ensuring quality and consistency on all Third Party projects.

I’m really excited for our team to explore new opportunities on behalf of PlayStation. Even though we’re brand new to PlayStation, we’ve got years of experience in this industry already under our belt. We already have a project underway, the recently announced PS Vita version of Borderlands 2. We are extremely excited to work with Iron Galaxy Studios on this project and I cannot wait to show and tell you more down the road.

I will share more with you as our adventures continue and new games are made available. In the meantime, let me know in the comments what you want to see on PlayStation (PS3, PS4, PS Vita). Or contact me on Twitter through the ingenious and mesmerizing handle of @giocorsi — original I know, but man is it solid.

Talk soon guys and keep on playing!

  • I would love to see Eldritch for the PS3, PS4 and Vita. It’s an upcoming indie roguelike game (releases October 21st) with Lovecraftian elements that’s been getting a ton of positive buzz from indie-centric outlets. The game is already compatible with controllers, and would be a great fit for any and all Sony consoles.

  • Final Fantasy Type-0 on Vita, definitely. And I’d love to see Fallout on Vita, whether it’s 3, New Vegas, or one of the older Interplay games.

  • To locate (recently announced japanese games) :

    – Phantasy Star Nova
    – Over my Dead Body 2
    – Akiba’s Trip 2
    – Gundam Breaker

And, of course, need a 5th Persona game too.

  • I would love to see Tales of Innocence R and Heart R brought over here. They’re the reason why I bought a Vita and its annoying that Namco enjoys ignoring they’re western fans. Another game I would love to see put on the Vita or even put on the PS3/4 would be Valkyrie Profile 2 (preferably for the Vita since it needs more RPG titles…).

  • Can we get Crisis Core on PSN please?

  • Can we get Type-0 on PSN please?

  • I don’t know if I said this in an earlier post, but everything atlus please. I heard sega bought index today, the likelihood of them localizing on their own is pretty slim. Please bring all the atlus games over ps vita, ps3, and ps4. Chiming Yakuza games again, as well as some obscure japanese titles that never make it here on ps3, ps vita, and ps4. Chiming Warhawk 2 again, Smite, League of Legends, Black Desert online, Strike force Vector, Final Fantasy Type Zero, Final Fantasy Dissidia on one ps3, ps4, and vita cross plat. Beyond good and Evil 2. Gundam Battlers! Hawken, Criminal Girls on vita.

  • Rival Schools 3 would be lovely (Ono hinted at it.) Tales games that have yet to be localized on ps3, vita, and psp.

  • Crisis Core available on PSN for the Vita
    Titanfall
    Soul Reaver HD collection
An Elder Scrolls game or Dark Souls game for PS Vita

Great that you guys are doing this! Beyond!

    Phantom Breaker: Extra

    Forgot to mention those

  • Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment

  • Want Gundam Extreme VS Full Boost and also an ‘Anarchy Reigns GOTY/Complete Edition’ with all downloadable content on disc. Both for PS3..

  • SHENMUE HD and SHENMUE 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yakuza 1&2 HD on Vita with a firm western release would be neat, whether it’s digital or retail i’d buy it ether way!

And of course Shenmue HD… Hopefully a PSN release of the first two episodes would bring us the PS4 threequel we’ve been all waiting for so long! Make it happen… please?

  • one of the greatest stories ever told needs to be fiished… Please Shenmue 3

  • Shenmue 3!
Even if you do it through a kickstarter, please, do it!

  • SHENMUE 1&2 in HD please sony make it happen

  • Yakusa HD collection, Puppetter, a Souls series game (Dark Souls/Demons Souls), the PS4 indie game Transistor looks pretty sweet, Sound Shape 2, Dragon Quest 8 HD, Ni No Kuni, all for PS Vita, pls.

  • Shenmue III.

  • I second the vote on Shemue 1 / 2. We heard the rumor of them working on an HD version of the games but then they went silent… There’s so much request for those two games to be re-released and for the production of the final chapter in the series, I don’t understand why they haven’t gone forward with that yet. It’s clear (from my point of view at least, which is, of course, not as large a scale) that it would sell.

So yeah, Shenmue I & II! And Silent Hill HD why not. Even if it was kind of a disaster on consoles, I’d like to have those games on my vita :)

  • My list of ports/franchises I want on the Vita:

    Splinter Cell (maybe Blacklist)
Kingdom Hearts (maybe 1.5 HD Remix)
    Saints Row
    Puppeteer
Hatsune Miku Project Diva F in North America (out in Japan for Vita and worldwide on PS3)
    Blazblue Chronophantasma
    Persona 4 Arena
Persona 3 remake (akin to P4G)
    DmC
    NBA 2K
    Tomb Raider
    Ultra Street Fighter 4
    Injustice: Gods Among Us
    Resident Evil
    XCOM Enemy Unknown/Within
    Dead Space
    Dishonored
    Tales of… (Namco series)
    Final Fantasy (more)
    Zero Escape: 999
    Mirror’s Edge
    Mark of the Ninja
    Guilty Gear Xrd

  • We want Shenmue 3 Please !!!!

  • My reasons why you ought to consider Shenmue for PS4:

    1) Every open world game today owes its success to Shenmue for revolutionizing the genre, creating the blueprint that is now followed by everything from Yakuza to Grand Theft Auto. Yu Suzuki and his team at AM2 did the hard (and expensive!) work to develop a multitude of concepts and gameplay devices so that other companies didn’t have to. For all the new ground it broke, for all it has contributed to modern gaming, Shenmue deserves to be treated better than buried in Sega’s vault without a conclusion to its epic story.

    2) That story. Unlike the aforementioned titles, the heart of Shenmue is in its morality and true human spirit, unmatched by any other franchise. To know Shenmue is to fall in love with its inhabitants and care for both their daily grind and their greater motivations. Shenmue has so much to teach a new generation who seek alternatives to gun-toting anti-heroes. In an era when indy teams like thatgamecompany can gain a following by affecting the player with subtle, intangible themes, or a touching plot like To the Moon by Freebird Games, there is most definitely a place for Shenmue to redefine typical videogame storytelling.

  • (…cont)

    3) No other game has quite matched Shenmue’s gameplay. While Yakuza comes close in some respects, it lacks the skilled combat based on the acclaimed Virtua Fighter engine, and the detective-like investigations that lead Shenmue’s protagonist Ryo Hazuki from one clue to the next in his quest for answers. Combined with tasks as varied as racing forklifts and working a game stand on the street, Shenmue can bring the kind of interactive experience that’s missing in today’s line-up of games, while attracting crossover appeal from a range of different genres.

    4) The fanbase and reputation of Shenmue are second to none. For twelve years, fans have desperately campaigned for the continuation of this unfinished series, following the cliffhanger ending to Shenmue II. Pleas for its resurrection have haunted gaming forums all over the web, and fans gather every month to spread their love for the game in an ever-growing Tweetathon. Gamers who have never played Shenmue are aware of its hold over those who have. Such is the aura surrounding this game that the announcement of its return would send shockwaves through the entire gaming community, and solidify Sony’s role as the company that cares about gamers.

  • My list for PS3 and I prefer disc releases..

    – Dungeons and Dragons Chronicles of Mystara Limited Edition . Particularly the Japanese retail version which is released on disc along with extra goodies and which was developed by Capcom’s internal staff and has more game modes. Not the PSN version that was released earlier

    – Timesplitters 2 and Future Perfect HD Edition. Love to own this collection on disc

    – Ring Of Red HD Edition

    – Smugglers Run 1 and 2 HD Collection

    – Saw a couple of people mentioning ‘Anarchy Reigns’ GOTY/Complete Edition with all DLC on disc. I second that request.

  • Final Fantasy Type-0, of course! A PS3 port would be awesome!

  • Shenmue HD and Shenmue 3, if these games are ever going to be released one day, I’ll be very happy!

  • Shenmue 3 please!

  • Backspace by Obsidian Entertainment.

  • I would like to have this game called GalGun, please.

  • We need a third Shenmue. Because artistic Masterpieces are scarce these days and we could use a good open world game laced with a great storyline. Shenmue 1 & 2 deserve a conclusion, even after 12 years waiting, the fans are eager for it and its creator Yu Suzuki deserves to finish this Masterpiece. Do it right and Sony, with its Playstation flagship will earn the respect and prestige for bringing this cult classic game to conclusion among Dreamcast fans and Shenmue fans, we will forever be grateful if you do. Some of us are so eager to get a 3rd. Shenmue that will buy a console solely to play this. There is business with Shenmue, serious business, the one that has held more than a decade and we are willing to buy 2 copies of it. We want Shenmue HD 1& 2 to test the waters and if it sells well, you can bring us Shenmue 3. Or you can give us the Trilogy. Any strategy will work for us really. So, if Gio Corsi would do this for the Shenmue Community, he and his team will earn both our respect and gratitude and secure sales for future games they release. Thank You!

  • Shenmue 1/2 HD and SHENMUE 3!

  • SHENMUE 3 please! best game ever. we need a finish. we deserve this game. the fans deserve it for the patetience and all campains. millions of fans worldwide want this game

  • While I could list many older classics I would love to be brought back, such as lots of classic Amiga titles. The one I want to see more of is Yu Suzuki’s Shenmue saga! Quite simply, this game was breath taking for it’s time and one that I will remember forever. While many of us at the moment are playing open world modern city games like GTA V. Shenmue needs to be remembered as the daddy of them all, as it was one of the first of this genre. This coupled with a wonderful story and soundtrack, makes for my favourite game series of all time, I live in hope of seeing more from this series one day… but if that day will not come, then surely a HD port of the first and second would be welcomed by the legion of fans who regard this Yu Suzuki masterpiece as the number one game of all time.
