I hope you’re ready to get hit right in the feels, because ICO joins the PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection tomorrow. The classic title has been an industry favorite ever since its release, so if you haven’t had a chance to play it, you can finally learn what all the fuss was about.

Great week for the Vita! Will we ever get Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker?

September 16th, 11:04 am

I want to preorder GTA V since last friday but i cant find it. When I search for it I just find avatars and videos. Why is this happening? am I going to be able to buy it at midnight? Or I’ll have to wait till tomorrow’s update?

Ugh, gotta way another week for Rayman Origins.

Also, please change the format to:

W1: PS3
W2: PS3/Vita
W3: PS3
W4: Vita

In other words, swap weeks two and three because it’s stupid to have the Vita games back-to-back when you typically only give us two.

Also notice how I said Vita and not PSP – enough with that crap.

Why dont we get shadows of clolossus with ICO, like other regions did? Please thank you playstation ♡♥ also want more discounts on Indie games section few dollars off or cents as a trophy whore/trophy hunter,We BUY GaMes just for trophies ;) so please pass this back to the team.

It could be great if PlayStation plus works on an offer in DLC content for saint row 2 and 3 or other games because they were great games and a little help on the price is always well come.

Most people that won the game on PLUS want the whole experience if the price is right… I probably don’t want to quit PLUS if I invest on the DLC content.

Lets put Sleeping Dogs on sale for the hundredth time, then give it out for free, then put it on sale again. And let put Kane & Lynch on sales again. Even thou we have over a 1000’s games that never been on sales before!!!

Our customers won’t catch on!!!

@hazelcabug: Complaining that the EU/JP PS+ is better than ours is like complaining that your next-door neighbor has a hotter wife — it’s just going to make you feel bad and not appreciate the great woman you have right next to you.

As a dual PS3/Vita owner, I’m VERY satisfied with my PS+ subscription. I have more games than I can play! Seriously, I’ve had a Vita since April, and I’ve only purchased three games for it (LittleBigPlanet, Super Stardust Delta, and the soon-to-be-free Rayman Origins), two of which I got with steep PS+ discounts. The other twenty-five or so games I have installed are all freebies. I’ve already “made back” the cost of the subscription, and that’s just on the Vita — I’m getting EVEN BETTER games with greater frequency on the PS3.

My only regret with PS+ is that I didn’t get it earlier!

Yes, It sucks but you can’t do anything about it, And the PSN download speed seems to be very unstable

Looking forward to Ico and Liberty City stories. I bought Ico on PS2 for $40 a few years ago (when it went for more than that), but have only played about 20 minutes of it. Oh well.

Be nice to have on PS3 — and remote play it on my Vita. Great feature, that. Wish more games had it. I keep trying to remote play with the new Mickey game, hoping one day it’ll just magically work.

Ico is a great game but once again, I already have it. You guys rarely give me something I don’t already own or haven’t played but I know that I’m an exception to the rule. Seriously though, I don’t subscribe for the games anyway, I’m mainly in it for the cloud saves and the convenience of auto-update. Also, I’ll need it for multi-player on my new PS4 come Nov. 4 (can’t wait)

On the other hand, I’ve never played GTA: Liberty City so I’ll be enjoying that tomorrow

Oh 2 games in the same week…I wasn’t expecting that….but I’m only getting GTA Liberty City Stories…since I already own ICO with Shadow in the retail collection…this reminds me that I gotta play ICO since I missed in the PS2…whatever…thanks for GTA LCS….the only way for me trying that game is for free so I’m really grateful.

PS:Sony….you guys MUST bring back the old Plus know what I mean?….avatars, themes for free and most importantly PS1 classics…and now you can include some PS2 classics as well.

This is the first time I’ve posted in PS Blog. I have been a PS Plus member for I’d say 2 years. I like most PS Plus games, but am disappointed from time to time, but to be expected. I know it’s not a perfect system or would it satisfy every PS Plus member every time but it’s Great!

But I do have one major culprit of digital download procedure. If there’s no incentive to pre-load some games, then people will just go ahead and buy hard copies of the game as it would take less time to get the game and install it and get it ready vs downloading 18GB for GTAV. Especially if they have to wait until midnight to download the game, it’s silly!

I have been quite upset about how you are offering Rockstar Games deal with 75% off if pre-order GTA5. I really wanted some of those Rockstar Games at 75% off, but sadly I am not going to be lured in bait-and switch to just get digital content and the deals

Please offer Rockstar Games 75% without the GTA5 digital copy requirement, and I will buy every one of those titles.

Do not start by saying Rockstar makes the decision on this deal, last time I contacted them, they said you Sony make up the deals on PSN not them. Who’s honest here?

Thank you!

dsaitta76 said:

So it has been clarified that there is no NA preload for GTAV, but I have not seen any explanation as to why. EUS gamers were, so it is technically feasible.

Digital downloads on PSN are already slow and that is before you add thousands and thousands of of people trying to grab the same file at the exact same time.

If ever there was a game that should have been allowed to be preloaded, this one was it. It would be nice to new the decision making process behind it.

purse317 said:

September 16th, 11:35 am

You guys have got to understand our frustration one of the biggest games of the year if not the biggest game of the year drops tomorrow millions MILLIONS will be trying to download it a the same time and we won’t be able to pre load it. In the 21st century that should be unacceptable. PSN is notoriously slow on a good day so put yourself in a paying customers shoes who just found out

We’ve complained about this and many more issues before but we usually always get the same response “Thanks for your suggestion we understand your concerns” etc etc. If you’d tell me why it can’t be done tell it to me straight we’d calm down some but we get nothing.

No one would be able to download the entire game in 12 hours so why not give us a 12 hour head start on the download.

I still say GTA LCS should’ve been released last week, even though it would be sorta out of sync :/ Most of us are going to be playing GTA V tomorrow, even though LCS is portable, I doubt any of us will play it at home with V available to us. Nonetheless, this is the week I’ve been waiting for :) I’ve been really wanting to play ICO, but the PS2 version used was too expensive (about $50 I believe), it was even more expensive than Persona 4 (which was $40 used) I also look forward to Rayman next week, I haven’t played a single Rayman since one of the GBA ones ^^;

DecadanceFantasy said:

I’m excited about ICO! I only played SoC, so this will be great. Well I did rent ICO when it first came out years ago but nothing happened and I think my disc was defective or something. It wouldn’t let me out of the first room.

Not too excited for Liberty stories, but I’ll give it a try. I like PLUS!

September 16th, 11:42 am

Hey Morgan, I just wanna say to keep it going even with raging people on here. Truth is if we didn’t get mad at certain things we don’t like, you guys would probably think “Oh I guess they didn’t like it too much but it’s ok.” But if you see people raging here, it becomes “WOW! They really hated the content so I guess we gotta change it up next time”. I honestly love that ICO has joined the IGC but I also agree that I would have loved to get Shadow of the Colossus. Also REALLY hoping we get Need for Speed Most Wanted like EU got. I want a AAA racing game! Mafia II would also be really appreciated!

September 16th, 12:18 pm

Thanks for another great update, Sony! I purchased Shadow of the Colossus HD for 5$ when it was on sale a few weeks back, so having ICO is great too as both games are classics that must be played by everyone!

Also, great having some GTA to play on my vita for when I finally leave my dungeon couch which will be taking away most of my time here with the release of GTAV tonight.

Stop complaining people, please. Free games are great none the less. Some weeks will satisfy you more than other weeks, but remember…. You are not the only one in the world…. Others may love what is announced this week.

Ah well my hunt for Mini Ninjas retail over here continues~

BTW any chance Neo Geo Ultimate Shooting can be a US Plus IGC soon?

For that matter, Mr. Haro the Crash and Spyro games are Vita compatible for JPN PSN members as well as EU PSN members, but US PSN members can’t play it on the Vita. This has been a big complaint about many Vita owners (including myself), and with 2014 drawing near, it’s sadly unfortunate that many can’t enjoy Crash on DAT OLED screen along with their EU and JPN brethren.
So please see if the games can be made Vita compatible, for one it’d boost sales for those specific games at least. Crash 1 has recieved 500,000 downloads on EU PSN alone to this day BTW.

SpaceOddity87 said:

Gamerzlimited said:

September 16th, 12:24 pm

Glad both ICO and GTA Liberty City Stories will be tomorrow’s PS+ update. Even though I have the UMD for LCS, I still like a digital version so I can continue playing on the go without suffering from load times and the ability to play it on the Vita. I only collect GTA games physically for their maps anyway. Can’t wait for ICO too. I never played that game because of how ridiculous the price is on the PS2 version.

As for pre-loading, it is a shame that there won’t be an option. At this rate, I don’t think the future is ready to go full digital yet. I won’t go digitally all the way on PS3, but I will on the Vita. We need to make sure we are able to pre-order our games and download them beforehand so it’s ready to go on the release date.

@Stoogefrenzy3k Agreed. I was very disappointed that it’s only available to those who pre-ordered GTA V on PSN. Leaving out those who plan to get the disc (Such as myself) or just want to pick up a few Rockstar titles on the cheap side.

@spidertour02 I wouldn’t be surprised if hazelcabug’s wife is actually his mom. That’s where he gets all his money from.

@zeothedeathgod – So why not for the people that can’t get it right away that only have PS3 put on a PS3/PSP&VITA game of GTA. Really? that simple simple as that. I don’t know if I’m going to be able to grab my copy because of other things in the way but it’d be nice to be thought about sense I have pretty much been asking for this and suggesting it sense I first seen it. And even then why not a month or two before it came out. Why the same exact day. Even a week earlier would be better to get the anticipation going. Same day as? Still doesn’t make sense if people are going to be busy with GTAV anyway. C’mon now.

I think you guys are doing a great job on the igc and for the haters i say get an xbox none which is what you get with your xbox live gold. Anyway as a person who loves the vita how about getting more psp games compatible such as ratchet and clank , motorstorm arctic edge, and syphone filter, being funny because syphon filter is listed as fully supported but only pruchasable via psn on ps3 then transferred to vita and only bought with killzone which i already own. Also games like gran turismo and tomb raidrr anniversary should be on vita store as they are compatible. Also mgs portable ops which works in europe but not here. Finally please bring these games to US vitas Pso2, toukiden, god eater 2, lord of apocalypse, pso nova, ffx in retail box, danganronpa another episode, 64 gb card, vita tv, etc. Part of the problem in US your not bringing the best games from japan, use your new 3rd party division or xseeed as they bring all those niche games like valhalla knights 3 to us hardcore vita players. Also great job on killzone mercenary just please market it , it is amazing the best handheld shooter ever!

Welmosca said:

September 16th, 12:42 pm

@ 129 Todoh789 – Nice man but why are you seeking a “retail” copy of Mini Ninjas here in the blog?…Mini Ninjas is a fantastic and super fun game…sadly its underrated.

DonkeyKongKilla said:

September 16th, 12:48 pm

@Paul Sullivan – Exactly you couldn’t of said it better about the passion. Seeing GTA coming to IGC is a heart dropper. I don’t have a PSP/Vita so it’s a little slap in my face. GTA is easily my favorite collection of games of all time. Starting at GTA1. So i kind of felt it a little hard. If I get to pick up my disc copy tomorrow then I’m good. I still bought GTA4 LSC months ago and still having a blast on it so its not effecting me too much.

secularsage said:

September 16th, 12:51 pm

Morgan and Kristine, you guys are awesome to put up with all this complaining. The GTA V incident is unfortunate, but the people who’ve REALLY gotta have it immediately are going to be at retailers tonight at 12:00 (if Rockstar doesn’t allow the street date to get broken early at certain retailers, as they’ve been known to do in the past.)

Those who opted for digital should know better than to expect a pre-load by now.

And the whiners complaining about the IGC really need to start PLAYING the games they get every month — there have been some great additions, and neither ICO nor GTA:LCS are slouches in the quality department… though I have to admit that I much preferred Vice City Stories back in the PSP days.

rekka_zan said:

September 16th, 12:51 pm

Hmm, 2 consecutive weeks of nothing interesting for me. I’m not bothered by it, though, because I’m waiting for Rayman Origins and I know it’ll come by the end of the month.

PSP games aren’t necessarily bad, but I hope you’d limit the amount of PSP games we get to only 1 game per month. GTA Liberty City Stories is quite a good choice, but Darkstalkers… *sigh*

Here’s some suggestions for titles that I’d like to see (and I think quite possible) on IGC :
– Tactics Ogre : Let Us Cling Together
– Cytus Lambda (yes, it’s a PSM game but it’s a really good game so why not?)
– Corpse Party (give the first one for free, it will encourage people to buy the sequel)
– Valkyria Chronicles 2 (it’s already quite cheap anyway)
– Ys Seven
– Final Fantasy IX (PS One title, but I’m sure we all still love it)
– MGS Peace Walker
– Dissidia Duodecim
– Let’s Fish! Hooked On (for the lulz XD hey, fishing games are fun!)

I’m really looking forward to GTA V on PS3 & I believe the only portable version I bought was China Town Wars.

Is Liberty City Stories better then China Town Wars? I didn’t care for the overhead mini-me look on CTA

>I am holding off on purchasing Need For Speed: Most Wanted, because I’ve watched you deeply discount games, then the following month, you give them away for free with a paid subscription to PS+.
You are torpedoing your own sales, here.

God, so much this.

Sony you don’t even realize how many people you lose in terms of sales when you offer stuff like Rayman Origins that was on sale 2 weeks ago, for PSN+ members, except you offer it for free.

It’s really stupid, and you’re basically walking your own customers in a minefield.

I’m not buying ANYTHING from the store unless its a PSV mini I know won’t go on IGC, and that’s only if it has a PS+ discount, like Nun Attack and some others did.

Also, how much do you bet will take for Sony to put Aliens:Colonial Marines in the IGC, next month?
Wouldn’t be surprised, seeing as you’re offering it for 9$, but no one wants it, yet the devs are probably going to want it in the IGC at least.

On this topic of digital preorders and digital games, what is the huge advantage of having a game like GTA 5 digitally on your hard drive besides not requiring a disk to be inserted in said PS3? Buying a digital game like GTA 5 is quite backwards. Go to the store and spend the same money and get a cool case for your shelf and specifically to GTA get a cool fold-out map/poster. All you people that want to be “all digital” on PS4 think about what you’re missing, cool physical stuff and a gaming shelf in your room.
