PlayStation Plus: November Preview

It’s going to be quite the month for PlayStation fans. PS4 is almost here, and it’s going to be mega awesome when I fire mine up for the first time and already have two free games to play. Yep, both Resogun, the intense and beautiful shoot ‘em up from Housemarque(the amazing people behind Super Stardust) and Contrast, a unique 2D/3D puzzler platformer with a stunning art style will be available in the Instant Game Collection for PlayStation Plus members on November 15th.

Of course, we have plenty of other great games to keep you busy until then, like Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, which is an expanded and enhanced version of Capcom’s original IP Dragon’s Dogma. There’s a new area to explore, a fast-travel system and plenty of new quests and weapons to keep you busy. Later on this month we’ll add ibb & obb, a 2-player co-op puzzler and Binary Domain, a third-person squad shooter. PS Vita owners can look forward to two amazing action-adventure titles: the classic Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath and the ever-epic Soul Sacrifice.

These games will hit the Instant Game Collection at various times throughout the month, so check back with us every Monday morning to see all the benefits of your membership.

  • Can I bank the ps4 games from psn+ on my ps3 like you can with vita games? I won’t be able to get a ps4 at launch but am still hoping I can have these saved for when I do

  • Holy cow great update! I’m assuming people can activate/free purchase the PS4 games on the PS3? (Would be a good incentive for PS3 folks to upgrade seeing that they already have a PS4 stash of games).

  • Awesome month!

  • Put your hand up if you think this is the best plus month for us 0/
So lets start buiding a ps4 library. Plus can really make a big difference in my will to buy it in the future

  • Wow, I was thinking Contrast look like a good game. I can get this for free. Looks like a good month in November for sure!

  • Holy smokes!!! DD Dark Arisen!? Already for free? That is INSANE… Getting that until PS4 releases resOgun & Contrast… and Soul Sacrifice… Wow.

  • Have Oddworld and it rocks the socks. Can’t wait to get Soul Sacrifice. Getting the PS4 titles so I can have em once I get it after Christmas. YAY PS+!!

  • I really hope to get Soul sacrifice on the EU plus next month also.

  • This is an AMAZING month to be a PS+ member! Thanks Sony Team!

Binary Domain is really fun and I never got to finish it. Reminds me of the Terminator movies and has Co op!
Dragon’s Dogma is another game I’ve yet to taste since it came out with the expansion.
Ibb & Obb looks like some great co op fun and that game just came out!
Oddworld looks like a blast and something I think I’ll enjoy on my Vita.
Soul Sacrifice has a ton of free DLC on the store so I’ll be sure to grab that up and try out the game.

And then there is PS4 games!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t wait!

Sony please continue to support the PS3 and PS Vita alongside the PS4 this way. I’d hate to see PS+ diminish for the other platforms the longer PS4 is out.

  • I have not really been excited to play any of the IGC additions in the last few months with the exception of Ico and Shadow of Colossus. It doesn’t help that I don’t have a vita and don’t plan to buy a PS4. But I do have a backlog of about 50 games on Plus to get through.

I have a question on Plus games for Vita as I’m thinking about buying a Vita. If I download a game from the IGC, can I play it when I’m travelling or do I need to be signed in to play it?

  • Fantastic. Nice surprises all around and we get PS4 games too! I don’t know what to do with all these. *jumbles free Playstation games in arms*

  • Awesome update, deffinitely excited for Soul Sacrifice, had been wanting to play that game but was going to wait till Delta came out to get it. This will tide me over until then!

  • Excellent month for PS+! You have no idea how many times I was planning on buying Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen and Binary Domain. Looks like I can finally save some cash next month.

  • Holy mother of God…what a month for PS+! This is the first month in which I will have owned absolutely nothing that’s featured in the IGC update. What’s even better…not a weak pick in the bunch! Way to follow-up on the awesome Kingdom’s of Amalur RPG with another awesome RPG in Dragon’s Dogma. Binary Domain is also a game that received mixed reviews upon it’s release, but I’m psyched to give it a go. Although I’ll need a co-op partner for Ibb & Obb, the art style has always intrigued me, along with the platforming. And then the two AAA games for Vita! Oddworld and Soul Sacrifice in the same month!? ARE YOU F*&%ing kidding me?! I’d have been happy receiving just one of them, but getting them in back to back weeks will be tremendous. For me, this is the best month for the IGC since it’s inception (and I’ve been a PS+ member since the beginning). Keep up the amazing work, PS+ Team!

  • Hmm.. the last 5 Vita games have been ones I’ve owned.. but that’s mostly my fault cause I couldn’t wait to pick them up. :) Well, have fun with them guys! and here’s hoping the games that are being swapped in for PS Plus cause of Uncharted, GR, and Wipeout being taken off are good ones!

  • Very happy for Dragon’s Dogma and Soul Sacrifice. Binary Domain and Oddworld weren’t on my radar but they look very interesting as well. Thanks for a great month!

Even though I won’t have a PS4 for awhile, will I be able to add Resogun and Contrast to my download queue for when I do get one?

  • Good to know I’ll be able to have a couple of games for the PS4, sadly I won’t be able to afford the lil’bugger for a long while. This is a great update though, I was hoping we’d see Guacamelee like the uk, but it’s no biggy. Soul Sacrifice will take up my time :D

  • @IAMHALLSY – You don’t need to be connected to the internet to play your Vita IGC games. So yes, you can play them in the car on long trips. BTW, you will NOT regret buying a Vita, my friend.

  • This month is full of amazing games that I’ve been wanting to play. This is an excellent month to be a PS Plus member.

  • yezzz

  • Good part– I have the physical copy of SS… so I can just stash that on my shelf and carry around a great game.. without having to be burdened to switch cartridges to have to play it.. I love digital. :)

That way, I’ll pretty much have to swap between Killzone and Tales of Hearts. xD

  • Really good month, I already own Soul Sacrifice but wanted Oddworld to replay it again so sweet!!!

  • Flat out impressed! Well Done!!!

  • I would like to know about what the new evergreen titles are as well.

  • OH My!! what a f….. CRAP!!! The last REALLY good game released on Plus was hitman absolution. Since there, just garbage!

  • Love it, love it, awesome update :D

  • OMG OMG OMG!! I was about to buy Dark Arisen (I own the first Dragons dogma), the truth is an incredible upgrade. Just this month is worth it for the whole year of Plus!

Dark arisen + Soul Sacrifice! Win!

    =======
Estaba a punto de comprar Dark Arisen (poseo el primer Dragons dogma), la verdad que es una actualizacion increible. Solo este mes vale la pena por todo el año de Plus!

  • Seems like the UK PS+ members get better games than the US members.

    Last month UK members received:

    Far Cry 3
    Mafia 2
    Spec Ops The Line

    This month UK members receive:

    Metal Gear Rising
    Remember Me

I hope the US memebrs get something else for the PS3 later this month (sigh)

  • I bought Soul Sacrifice some weeks ago, but its okay.

    I have 3 questions:

1 – This is for all Americas, or North America only? Since launch of PS+ in Latin America (Nov, 22th) the free games were the same as NA.

2 – If this overview is for Latin America as well, what will happen in regions where a game isn’t available yet? (Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath isn’t available in Brazil yet.)

3 – The fixed PS Vita games aren’t changing? (November makes a year of Uncharted: GA, Gravity Rush and WipEout 2048)

  • You guys finally have a totally winning month! Especially with the Vita games. Congrats!

  • Cripes, what an awesome lineup. Love it!

  • Nice selection of games this month. Really excited to give Resogun and Contrast a shot.

  • played dragons dogma loved it and now dark arisen can’t wait.

  • Are you serious? While Europe has AAA games we are getting THIS, and the fault is ours because we are saying that this is a good month. I feel sad because I wanted to have the games that Europe has, when I became a member of Plus i didnt know that US didnt have the same games as Europe. Say what you want, but just look at the games that Europe is offering every month. Nothing left to say but please fix this, we want more AAA games. I think the last one was Hitman Absolution, and its not a great game but its okay i think.

  • Nice try but still want my mp3s

  • I eek’d like a little kid when I saw IBB & OBB, so freaking excited!!!!!!! truly amazing game! I love it! I love it! &… I LOVE IT!! not to mention that we’re also getting Dragon’s Dogma : Dark Arisen & Binary Domain, awesome update I have to admit, I’m going to have a lot of fun and won’t have any complaints for this month, Thank You <3 and the vita updates look nice even if I don't have one but I shall keep it in my download list if I do want to purchase one in the future.

Thank You Sony!! idk if this is just to get people to get Playstation Plus on PS4 but I will gladly take advantage of the situation, much appreciated :D

  • I really liked this update, but I think that there so many RPGs lately in Plus, will be great if we get another game types.

  • Awesome lineup this month! It’s great that we’re getting free PS Plus games for all three of Sony’s consoles this month. Many of these games are underappreciated gems and it’s great that Plus subscribers now have excellent incentive to try these great games out. Thanks Sony!

  • Great month except I just bought Oddworld on vita. Is there a way to get a refund since this was just announced?

  • Dragon’s Dogma? Nice. Now I hope we don’t see it with a huge discount later because I’ll not have the option to buy if I “own” it (Plus)…actually, I’m just going to wait. The PS4 is coming out and this is another feature that the Sony team isn’t fixing.

  • dat IBB & OBB doe <3

  • @187: What? Many RPGs? Huh? Another type of games? Sorry, but FPS are the ones we got like crazy.

  • @Snakeshadow18 – Don’t say “we” want anything! Say “YOU”, because that’s an actual fact. 90% of blog posters are actually excited about this months content. Have you actually been over to the European Blog?! They are freaking out over the fact that we get 3 PS3 games, 2 PS4 games, and 2 Vita games this month, while they get just 4 games, one of which is Motorstorm RC. Sorry bro, but the grass isn’t greener on the other side.

@MatheusRuggeri – Dude…we’ve received a grand total of 2 RPGs in the IGC in 2013 (Demon’s Souls and Kingdom’s of Amalur). What are you talking about!? What other “game types” do you want? The only type I don’t think we receive a lot of is sports/racing

  • Another disappointing month for me.

  • Just awesome!!!

  • another game type I definitely would want to see is a racing game cause I don’t think we’ve seen much racing and it’d really add to Playstation Plus other than Drive Club coming next year (PSN Plus) edition but for PS3 we definitely would need/want a racing game , just my opinion but this month is … IBB & OBB <3

  • Wow! What the… this month.

  • Wow, wasn’t expecting SS to hit PS Plus so soon. Already own it but more people for MP will be nice. Strangers Wrath and Dragons Dogma for me this month.

  • Oh yeah, that it’s how it’s done :D

I came to check the blog and I didn’t expect the November preview today, so this is good news. God, what can I say about the update? It’s really awesome.

As usually, I didn’t have a clue about this month IGC, but I certainly wasn’t expecting Dragon’s Dogma, so that was a nice surprise.

Definitely, this is a kick-ass month (especially if we get to compare it with the previous ones). I think that there is something for everyone. I only own a PS3, and I’m glad with the selection, two AAA games :D

I’m looking forward to this 3 awesome games. Good job with Soul Sacrifice, anyone who owns a PSVita are certainly in for a treat.

Keep up the good work! Thanks PS+ team

  • we hope that The Angry Birds Star Wars (Vita) will be free for Play Plus Members on Next Month
Thanks for this month this is very good.
