PlayStation Plus: November Preview

Kristine Steimer's Avatar Posted by Sr. Community Specialist

It’s going to be quite the month for PlayStation fans. PS4 is almost here, and it’s going to be mega awesome when I fire mine up for the first time and already have two free games to play. Yep, both Resogun, the intense and beautiful shoot ‘em up from Housemarque(the amazing people behind Super Stardust) and Contrast, a unique 2D/3D puzzler platformer with a stunning art style will be available in the Instant Game Collection for PlayStation Plus members on November 15th.

Of course, we have plenty of other great games to keep you busy until then, like Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, which is an expanded and enhanced version of Capcom’s original IP Dragon’s Dogma. There’s a new area to explore, a fast-travel system and plenty of new quests and weapons to keep you busy. Later on this month we’ll add ibb & obb, a 2-player co-op puzzler and Binary Domain, a third-person squad shooter. PS Vita owners can look forward to two amazing action-adventure titles: the classic Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath and the ever-epic Soul Sacrifice.

These games will hit the Instant Game Collection at various times throughout the month, so check back with us every Monday morning to see all the benefits of your membership.

Wow, stellar month for US PS+ for a change. Great games for both PS3 and Vita! I’m not planning on buying a PS4 anytime soon, but if the PS+ offerings are too good to pass up, I might buckle down!

Follow up. I know this has been said many times already but:

Please let PS+ subscribers buy games that were in the IGC! I could count on my hand games that I would have forked money over even though I already had them for “free.” Do you hate money?

Looks like it’s an amazing PlayStation Plus offer this November, maybe I’ll think it over before subscribing so I can get the greatest games through the Instant Game Collection.

This is a great month for plus and there seems to be a lot of the community that are loving this as well. I’m questioning to download Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisan because I have the physical Dragon’s Dogma game. Will there be a Dark Arisan expansion download? Otherwise really great month for Plus, Soul Sacrifice (already have the game) was a game I was not expecting to see on plus so soon. Vita owners are in for a treat.

A fantastic month for me. The first time all year where I have not purchased at least one of these games already for my PlayStation systems. Binary Domain, OddWorld and Soul Sacrifice were all on my to-buy list as well. Great news. Thanks.

Because people are never satisfied

You could literally put something like:

PS3: Grand Theft Auto 5, Batman: Arkham Origins, The Last of Us
PS4: Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Call of Duty: Ghosts
Vita: Killzone: Mercenary, Dragon’s Crown

And the entitlement brigade would STILL complain. And those are all recent, full priced, AAA titles.

About Resogun and Contrast for PS4, PLEASE ANSWER!
Do you know if they will come to PS+ before launch of the PS4 so we can download them,
or will we have to wait till afterwards. Didn’t buy any games with my PS4, hoping to have something
to play besides Warframe.

i.e. TUE, Nov.12 they release so FRI, Nov.15 I can download.
Or is waiting till the 19th more likely?

This is more like it.

Even if it’s an older title that didn’t well, it’s about time to see NA Plus getting two retail games like EU has for so many months this year.

Kudos on the Vita titles as well.

Looking forward very much to the PS4 titles also!

Can’t wait to try Resogun and Contrast when I finally buy a PS4 (probably early-to-mid 2014).

I don’t know a thing about Binary Domain, but it seems to be well-liked. I’ll have to watch some gameplay videos.

PlayStation Plus continues to deliver the goods!

That lineup is insane. And to think, people were worried Sony was gonna cut back on the monthly offerings for the Vita or the 3 to make room for PS4 games. Instead, we get a stellar selection with a couple PS4 games as well. I’m not usually one to praise multinational corporations, but Sony is really knocking it out of the park here. I’m in no way a “fanboy” but good lord the competition is looking really weak these days(and I say that as a customer of both). PlayStation Plus is THE gold standard now.

Not even mad I already own a couple of these. Everyone should play Soul Sacrifice.

Thank you Sony!

I my opinion, EU PS+ is better that the US one atm…
Where are the best Titles for the Instant Game Collection? Binary Domain is graded 7.5/10 at IGN, and DRAGON’S DOGMA: DARK ARISEN, 7.9/10… I’ve expected better than that. :/
Please think about LA Noire, Assassin’s Creed II, Mass Effect, Killzone 3, etc..

@56 oshkoshbagosh1: I have a question because I really don’t know: Aren’t the games here (NA) available for a whole month? If so, I’m not sure how EU’s way is any better. If I don’t have Plus and don’t get it till mid-December, I can still get IGC stuff from late November. The other way it would have disappeared at the start of the new month. It’s just two different ways of arranging things, with neither being any better or worse than the other.

passivefamiliar said:

only ignorant children complain about free games, free anything. adults, mature adults accept greatness.

can i add free ps4 gams to my download que, even if i dont have my ps4 yet? hoping to create a backlog of ps4 games before i buy one. probably be a few months, maybe march. enough time to debug it, tweak it, be ready for it.

i hate how many people complain. i read a story about how sony listens to its customers if they go play in traffic.

ThumbsOfSteel74 said:

November 1st, 4:03 am

@57 jasonstreet: If I didn’t know better I’d think you were joking. In what way are you being “punished” by Sony? From time to time, PS3 slots in the IGC will be replaced by slots for PS4. And why shouldn’t that occur? Why should people with PS4’s have less so that you (and me BTW, since I won’t be getting a PS4 at launch) can have more? Either we can’t afford the purchase, we find enough value left in our PS3’s (like my umpteen game deep backlog) to delay it, etc. I find words like “punish” being used in this manner to be silly at best.

@everyone who has a complaint about the IGC: Imagine the following scenario: You’ve had Plus for months or even years. All of a sudden Sony decides to start giving away a lot more games to Plus via their brand new IGC program. IGC? What’s that? Free games? Score! AAA titles and indies, many of them new? Saving me even more money on games I was going to buy anyway? I mean, some of them I couldn’t care less about but still. Wow!

I lived that scenario when the IGC began in June 2012. So did everyone else who was around back then. Not sure when or where we picked up all these crybabies.

When can we expect Binary Domain?

NinthGenHero said:

November 1st, 4:42 am

Ok…I’ve tried numerous times to find an answer. PS Plus is just too good of a deal, I actually have at least 20 untouched games all from Instant Game Collection. November is going to be sick, but I am wondering, Can our Instant Game Collection be re-downloaded when we get our PS4s?

My only option right now is to keep my PS3 so that I can play through all this content, BUT if I know I can re-download my Instant Game Collection to PS4 based on my account history, this would save me shelf space.

ThumbsOfSteel74 said:

November 1st, 4:51 am

@398 usnalog: Sometime this month.

@399 NinthGenHero: Right now there’s no option to play PS3 games on your PS4, so I’m not sure what the point would be.

Good thing I sold my copy of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen after beating it countless times. I can just download and play for the nostalgia now. If people want to use my level 120+ pawn(can’t remember its level) go on ahead. Add me to if you want.

passivefamiliar said:

November 1st, 5:59 am

iI think 399 is asking the same thing iI am.

ps4 IGC games, can iI add them to my download list (like iI do with vita games/PSP games) and then download them once I get to my ps4, or will I HAVE to have a ps4 to add them.

if we can just add the ps4 IGC games to my que list and download them when iI get a ps4, months from now. I will be more likely to get a ps4 sooner knowing I already have a backlog of games waiting on me.
