PlayStation Plus: February Preview

Typically when you think of February, your mind goes to chocolates, flowers, and other lovey-dovey things. So we thought we’d celebrate this sappy month by scaring the bejesus out of you with Outlast on PS4.

We also have some great single-player PS3 experiences, including Metro: Last Light, a first-person shooter with an interesting take on morality, and Remember Me, a third-person action adventure where you’ll take down an evil corporation by beating lots of people up with your own unique combos and messing with people’s memories. If you have a significant other, you might be able to rope him or her into some bank-robbing action with Payday 2 on PS3. After all, everyone likes stealing stuff. I mean, uh… nevermind.

Finally, two PS Vita titles are joining the Instant Game Collection: Street Fighter X Tekken and ModNation Racers: Road Trip. Both include functionality with their respective PS3 versions. Fight against your friends in Street Fighter X Tekken no matter what platform they have, or download your previously made PS3 creations and use them in ModNation Racers: Road Trip.

  • Just incredible!!! Thank you Sony. You guys are killing it every month!

  • Damn, that’s a great lineup.

  • I was hoping Catherine would be coming for V-day. Maybe you guys have a sale planned instead? *nudge nudge*

You also need to work with someone like Newegg for PS+ users to get us discounted harddrives. The past few months (including the upcoming Feb) have been “I don’t own any of these yet” months, which are awesome until I can’t finish games fast enough and start running out of space. Still a bit left on the 1TB I installed recently, but a few more of these months and I’ll be saying differently.

  • I’m getting real ticked off here guys.

I mean do you expect me to quit my job?

How can I find time to play all these games!

Crysis for $5, free DMC, Free Bioshock Infinite, free Metro?

And then you gonna throw Payday 2 at me?!?!?!?!

What about my family and social life? Have you no compassion?

And now you basically forcing me to buy a VITA!

Your money grubbing and heartless, and I love ya for it.

  • Remember Me is a criminally underrated and overlooked game that everyone should give a serious try. That is all.

  • nothing for me this month gives me time to cautch up on dead space 3 dragons dogma and a few others behind on only good game is a vita game and I hate handheld systems

  • BOMBA PS+! Keep ongoing PS Teams)) love the service !

  • Wow. This is extremely impressive!

  • Great lineup this month been waiting days for a sneak peak on this month… when can we be expecting the first game on the instant game collection

  • AMAZING!

  • I will NEVER get rid of PS PLUS now.. AWESOME line-up for February.. Day one PS Plus member and a Day One PS4 owner..

  • daww payday 2, got it for PC but I guess it won’t hurt to do heists with my friends on a console instead :P, remember me is a decent game to see, but man oh man, metro last light takes the cake for me, was about to buy it next week, glad I waited 8).

  • More Indys for ps4 I see. no real games! Bad

  • I don’t know which platform I’m more excited for!! Maybe Vita, but then again there’s OutLast and Metro :D

  • Good Value, Good selection.

Wayyyyyyyy too many shooters. Pretty violent month.

I’ll await the post for March. thank you.

  • Love U guys!!! another amazing month, ps+ Rules!!!!!!

  • Great month! I have none of these. =D

  • Serious Question!

    Why does February always rule?

Of course, it’s completely subjective, but the last few Februaries have been awesome. I thought to myself, this Feb. will be different. They are not going to lay it on thick as they have done in the past.

Well, it’s better it be February (always awesome month) then no month.

Of course, you guys have had other killer months, but February has been, so far, one of the best months of the year. I actually signed up in February three years ago. I’m backlogged by about a 100 games from you guys. Totally worth the money.

    Kudos!

And thanks for being an awesome service and three fun years of play!

  • Nice line-up. Been wanting a fighting game on my ps vita but didn’t know which one to go with since I’ve been out of touch the fighting game genre for a while.

  • Street Fighter X Tekken (PS Vita)

  • ooo i will be grabbing Outlast. i’ll probably be terrified, but it looks really cool. other than that, i’m getting tired of all the shooting games.

since this is a preview, does that mean there will be more added to this list on tuesday?

  • Noooooooooooooooo, please sony, give us Street Fighter X Tekken for PS3 too!!! Dammit, i don’t have vita :(

  • When are you going to add mp3 ability to the ps4. One of the reasons I even bought the thing was because of the ability to store mp3s on it. I just figurred ps4 would have it or is this just a ploy to force people to get music unlimited

  • Not that the service hasn’t always been worthwhile, but PS+ has been absolutely killing it the past few months. Great lineup once again…looking forward to this month, and can’t wait to see what is offered next. Bravo!

  • Can`t say as to which one I`m looking forward to the most to be honest, they all sound good. I`d like to give the PS4 version of Outlast a go, but sadly don`t have a PS4 and I doubt I will anytime soon with how they’ve been constantly sold out. As for the PS3 titles, I`ll need finish some of the older Plus titles from a few months ago to make some room on my HDD. Vita titles seem nice too, I`ll pass on Street Fighter X Tekken, not my kind of fighting game.

@262 I don`t know what your definition of a “real game” is, but last I checked indie games are still games in their own right. Outlast is a pretty good game from what I’ve played so far of the PC version.

Anyway keep it up Sony, can’t wait to see what you dish out for March when we get around to it.

  • When it will be out this update?

  • banderascompilation.gif

Damn good update! I haven’t played any of these except Modnation Racers RT.

    February lineup FTW!

  • Wow, you guys have really outdone yourself this month. Phenomenal list. The only problem with this update: when am I supposed to find time to play all the amazing games you guys keep giving me? :-P

  • PS Vita and ps3 line up is amazing. Thank you

  • @SlayerBrasileiro,

    Week 1 : PS4 and PS3
    Week 2 : PS3
    Week 3 : PS3/Vita
    Week 4 : PS Vita

  • One thing I’d like to see here and in the store: Tell us what the camera view is for a game. Is it 1st or 3rd person? If a game’s 1st person, I won’t waste my time downloading it or even reading anything on it, since all 1st person games make me ill (I also think they’re incredibly boring & unimaginative).
I see Remember Me has 3rd person listed in it’s description (huzzah for them!), but most games don’t.

  • Awesome update, keep it going Sony!

Damn my PS3 needs a bigger HDD and my VITA another memory card :D

  • Dang, that was a surprise. Payday 2 that is. Wanted to get that game later when it dropped in price, and didnt expect it to be on here anytime soon.

  • This lineup is incredible…I normally only download about 2 of the games a month but Im gonna get all but one of these (tekken because Im not a big fighting game fan). Thank you Sony!

  • based on the last few months the line will go as like this.

feb 4-outlast and metro last ight
    feb 11- payday 2
feb 18- remember me and street fighter x tekken
feb 25- modnation racers road trip

and for the month of march

ps4- whatever european ps4 game they get will also be ours
ps3-whatever european ps3 game of the month will be our game of the month also
    ps3-another full retail game
    ps3- indy game
psvita 2 games whatever they decide to put up

  • Quick question, how do u pick the free games for the month?

  • Is very disappointing that Outlast lack out of a Platinum. The game have enough material to get a Platinum.

Bad move by Sony. I was expecting this game on PS4 since i played it on Steam, but even free i am disappointing that the game has not a platinum. Totally sucks.

  • This absolutely Amazing along with the TLOU Dlc im going to pre order and the 3 PS+ Ps3 games February is going to be a great month.

PS i read microsoft is giving $100 for people that leave there ps3 and i have to say screw that PS+ febuary is the reason we pick Sony over Microsoft

  • Loving this month’s lineup!

  • Bad month for me. Already own Remember Me and ModNation Racers while the rest have no appeal for me.

  • amazing, thanks…

you got me for the next 10 years

  • Dear Sony:

Please remove the 100 icons limit in the PSVITA (or extend it to -at least- 200) and please release 64gb VITA memory cards in America, we really need the extra space and icons to keep all the great games you are giving us via PS+ ^_^

    Thanks for the help

    One Really Happy PS+ Member

PS: Great lineup of titles this month! Thanks!

  • This list looks awesome!!! This may be a stupid question but if I get this games will I be able to play them on my vita also?

  • Well, you guys are definitely keeping up the trend of solid PS+ support. This is the kind of success you will have when you don’t get stuck on one genre, like that stretch of ported fighting games every time you turned around.

Shooters, racers, fighting, horror, action all in the same month. Even solid support for VITA. I’ll keep saying it. Keep spreading the genres around and there’s something for everyone. Congrats for another solid month of PS+.

  • No more racing games for the Vita please!

  • You made my February plus The Last of Us Left Behind DLC!!!

  • FAN…F$%¨@…TASTIC PS+ update!

I’ve never seen anything like this!

  • This is amazing!!!!

    Keep Going SONY!!!!!!!!!!

  • Now this is LOOT!
