The next system software update for PlayStation 4 (version 1.60) will be available for download beginning late tonight, bringing support for the PULSE and PULSE – Elite Edition wireless stereo headsets to PS4. We know you’ve been patiently waiting for this update, which means PS4 owners will now be able to enjoy an enhanced gaming experience with 7.1 virtual surround sound and crystal clear voice chat with our official PlayStation headsets. PlayStation headsets are created for PlayStation gamers, by gamers – and designed to truly provide the audio that game developers intended. It’s truly how games were meant to sound.
I’m also excited to introduce the newest member of our headset lineup – the Gold Wireless Headset, which launches early this month. This new headset offers 7.1 virtual surround sound, custom audio modes created by developers specifically for PlayStation games, a hidden noise cancelling microphone for voice chat while playing online, customizable faceplates, and other features –all for $99.99 (MSRP).
You can connect the Gold headset to your PS4, PS3 or computer using the wireless adaptor for eight hours of straight gameplay. WTF? I have the Turtle Beach PX 5 for my PS 3 (works great!) and bought the PX 51 headset for the PS 4 and can’t use my PX 5 at all on it, and can’t chat with the PX 51. That’s about $400 in incompatible headsets for the PS 4. I expected a lot more from you Sony. So, when do we get an update for the other headsets out there?

I just did the update and now when my headset Is on it keeps disconnecting me from the internet!!!!! Btw I’m hard wired in…. does it need a update 1.61 ? Is anyone else having this problem?
The update is now live in the US. Here’s a problem with it though. The only models of headphones listed in the changelog are Sony models. What about all us people that spent over 200 dollars on a good set from Turtle Beach? Where’s our support????
Come on guys, most of us are long time customers since the original playstation and don’t appreciate the attempt to force us to spend more money on a new set of headphones just because it says PS4 on the box. There’s absolutely no technical or hardware difference to make it to where they shouldn’t be supported
It’s not even that I use the mic but it’s the principle that I don’t like being extorted for more money and that’s all this lack of support for Turtle Beach headphones from the PS3 era is which is still active btw
Come on Sony. Show your supporters that this isn’t a greed issue. There have been multiple questions about this and not a single answer, but I see answers from you guys over dumb stuff. I recall a couple Woot! responses over dumb questions or somebody saying they like a certain game. That’s not good enough. Answer people’s legitimate questions on here or make a FAQ thread somewhere or even just release a statement……just do something for your customers
yeah my almost 180 dollar px4’s no go unless i have the chat cable. im switching to the gold pulse but for now it would have been nice to work on my current set. smh

Sony when can we finally expect an update that will bring support for MP3, DLNA, 3D, handle movies and music from your portable USB dyku? I recall that the function has a PS3 and for me not to be understood that the PS4 is not. When you buy a PS4 I was hoping that I take equipment as good as the PS3, and maybe even better. And all of this puki what I am terribly disappointed with the new console and its capabilities.
I hope this headset is better constructed than the pulse Elite, because i had two pair that that snap near the neck of the ear cups . Both pair in the same place

So thanks sony(sarcasm) for another un usefull update for your wireless plus head set what about your bluetooth head sets or mic no support there i guess the people who didn’t buy them are screw
Patch is live, but the network seems to be down. My headset, the CECHYA-0080 model, has been able to sync to the PS4, but the sound coming through is muffled; I can barely hear a thing, even with both the headset’s volume slider and PS4’s audio settings at max. I can’t try out voice chat because I can’t sign into PSN, so.
I know why some of you are complaining about your third-party headset support, but this update was only for the original Sony wireless stereo headset, the two Pulse wireless headsets, and the new Gold wireless headset. Let’s get that out of the way first. By congesting the comments section further, some of you with irrelevant complaints, chances are they’re going to ignore our feedback here altogether. Take it to the Support section, not here.
So, that’s all this update does? Just supports a pair of overpriced earphones? Come on, Sony. Where is support for the Bluetooth headsets some of us ALREADY OWN?! And where is support for 3D discs? And where is support for everything else? You should really change your slogan from Greatness Awaits to Greatness Is Still Waiting. Still waiting on some games. And other useful updates. So far, I regret buying this machine.

This is good, because I’m planning to buy a PlayStation 4 by the end of the month and I’ve been looking for a headset that is PlayStation 4 capable. So Sony is right on time! And at a great price for it to be a New Wireless Headset! GO SONY!!!!

Hey sony when are you going to support bluetooth because your update still don’t allow my official sony bluetooth headset to work i’m talking about the with the ear hook the that is made just voice chat. because i don’t need a 7.1 surround sound headset because i have a 7.1 sound system. The ps4 is supposed to be next-gen but i’m stuck using a wired headset because my sony bluetooth headset is not supported._.
What about Bluetooth Devices other then Sony Brand example the cheap mic that comes with ps4 is ugly cheap and already broke I have a Bluetooth MIC/headset that work awesome with My ps3 and not compatible with ps4 why ? when is that update going to be released for other Bluetooth Devices ?

Thanks for FINALLY adding support for this!! But where is DLNA, and external HDD support?! I still cannot understand how these features are not on the PS4 from the start, when they are on the PS3!! I’ve had a PS4 since Xmas, but barely even use it because I can’t do anything with it, the app I use the most is ‘Live from Playstation’ because there are no games (AC is done, and Ghosts is pure and utter crap)!! I want to be able to watch my films, listen to my music and look at my photos via an external HDD just like we ALL do on the PS3!! I know you want us all to upgrade, but atm there is no point whatsoever – if I didnt get a ps4 for xmas, I would not have even bought one because for me, the PS3 is still far superior to ANYTHING out there, so please PLEASE get on it, we need it!
