Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA f Debuts on PS Vita this March

Hello again, PlayStation aficionados, Miku fans, and gentlemen and ladies with fine taste in music games. Aaron from SEGA here, and we’re excited to confirm with you all that Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA f will be releasing for your PS Vita this March!

The game will be available on PlayStation Store, and will also feature a completely separate set of Trophies from the PS3 version (go for that double Platinum)! We’re also happy to confirm today that we will be bringing over the DLC that many have asked us about: the Snow Miku 2013 DLC, the Extra Character Modules Pack, and the Extra Songs pack will all be available at launch in March. We’ll be announcing details on pricing for these, as well as the full game, here on the Playstation Blog soon.

It’s amazing to look back and see how far we’ve come over the last year. For that, we have nothing but thanks for each and every one of you who picked up the game (or plans to) and is part of that story. From a Facebook post asking for your likes and shares, to a PS3 version announcement and successful launch, and now, for all the PS Vita owners, a portable version of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA f in just a month. A lot can happen in a year!

Questions? Comments? As always, we’ll be around responding to your notes below. Drop a line and let us know what you think!

P.S. Do you live in or near Birmingham, Alabama, or Kansas City, Missouri? Stay tuned for our next blog post if so!

  • Finally, finally Miku comes to PS Vita on North America. I have been waiting this for nearly two years. Will there be a digital pre-order discount or bonus?

  • i platted the ps3 ver on 4 days & i’m so happy to see the ps vita eng ver coming
    MIKU EVERY WHERE =)
    & yeah we want PD F 2nd!
    Greatings from KSA ^^

  • what time she going released have the date?

  • Awesome news! One of the reasons I bought my Vita! Any news on whether this will be released in the EU at the same time, or later?

  • I am wondering. Will there be a physical retail copy for this game? I would rather have it as a physical copy rather than digital. With all the great games Playstation laid out for PS plus members, my 32 gb memory is almost gone. I hope there is a physical copy, or at least have Playstation bring the 64gb like Japan has.

  • March? Well Happy Birthday to me. (The 26th btw.)

  • wait, so it’s only a digital copy and not a physical one?

  • That last song sold me totally on it. I love rythm games

  • They will be a physical copy for vita? Because I can’t find a ps3 US version physical copy of PDF on gamestop and the gamestop website…..

  • The ps3 version was amazing! I will definitely get the Vita version! The only problem I had with the game was that there were only 2 Kaito songs, but that’s just personal preference XD The PDf2 has FOUR confirmed songs with Kaito in it! Everyone support Project Diva f for Vita so we can get PDf2 in the US! We can do it, guys! Oh, and question, I’ve read that the AR Cards will come out some time after the Vita version is out. If that’s true, do you know around the time that’ll probably happen?

  • I just wanna say THANK YOU SEGA FOR BRING THIS TO THE VITA!!! i love this game but im wondering if there is gonna be a demo for it so that we can see how it feels to have it on the vita?

  • No official Diva f 2nd for North American this March? Ahhhhgggggggg…… then I have to order the Japanese version from suspicious online sites and pay double the price :( ANd I have to guess what each menu item means since I don’t know Japanese.

  • what about AR cards?

  • Getting a Vita just for this… Hype == 10000+
    Hurry up, March!

  • Very sad to see there is no love from SEGA US for retail release. Retail for PS3 but most of the good Japanese games are digital for PS VITA. I bet the final day of PS VITA generation, there will be way lesser the retail collections in the US comparing to those in Japan. ;(

  • When did this come in the malaysian store because i am trying to predict when project diva f 2 nd is coming
If any body knows please tell me tell me all nations date so i can predict all of them

  • Late post, but I’m really happy to hear about this.
Already got the PS3 version and I was seriously considering importing the Japanese Project Diva f 2nd. But now I’m definitely getting this one on Vita. Thanks for the efforts on bringing this game!

  • i am a huge fan of project diva f and cant wait till march its my birthday next month and thats my gift to my self lol i just need to know the day and how much its going to cost for the Digital download will cost me hope you can tell me

  • Can we pre-order this or what is the set date?

  • I love this game so much. I Got all trophies on both my Jap and US account and all items in-game. Now with it releasing in the US as an English version I would really love to buy it and do it all again.

But I would really like a physical copy because it is much easier for me and also I love to display my things. Those of you who don’t have a 64 memory card, you should go get one.

I guess I will wait a bit to see what you are doing about this, in the meantime I got Project Diva f 2nd to play in a few weeks. And then Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragments.

I wonder if you gonna get Miku Miku Hockey 1 and 2. It wasn’t a bad little game. Wouldn’t need much translating either.

  • This has made my day. I loved the console version(bought both the japanese and english release^^) and having it on the go is awesome to think about. I cant wait for this and hope to see more of Miku and friends making it over in the future(yes Im hoping we get f 2nd in the west too but I know you’ve been asked about that a lot already lol) :)

  • This news makes me a proud vita owner. As someone who loves anime of all kinds and am just starting with vocaloid in general i eagerly await this game. Words cannot describe how much fun i’v had with the Japanese demo. With this and the new hypoerdimension neptunia pp trailer recently announced I know for a fact this is a good year for anime aficionados!

  • I’m so excited for this new game! I’ve got a copy of the ps3 game and a friend of mine liked it so much she’s getting one for the vita! Now that there’s a chance of double platinum trophies it looks like we’ll be teaming up in the future…

  • Hi! I have a question I hope someone can answer..
Is this exclusive to North America and Europe PS stores?
Does that mean it can’t be bought on Asia PS stores?
Sorry if this is common sense but I’m new to the vita and psn so I still don’t know how it works…
(If it’s exclusive to those two regions, is there anyway Asia can get it?

  • To answer your question aisukurimu-tan, the English version getting released is US download only. Meaning that you need to have a US PSN account to buy and play it directly from the store.

This is why many of us prefer a physical copy. With a physical copy you can play it on a PSN account unless you wish to buy the dlc’s for it. In that case you would need a US PSN since that’s where you would purchase them.

The game has been released in Japan and Hong Kong already but is in Japanese. It is quite easy to play in Japanese if you prefer tyou buy a physical copy from one of those countries. I believe they have a demo for you top try on the store.

All in all, PS VIta physical games can be played on any console and or PSN account but dlc’s must be bought and used on the country PSN the game is from.

  • I’m really interested in this game, but can anyone comment on how hard it is? It looks ridiculously hard and it has me worried. I was never ever really able to play Expert on Rockband/Guitar Hero. Hard was as far as I could go and even then it was only average at best. Never a FC or 100% a song on hard (except I did 100% the Linkin Park song on Expert on GHIV).

But yeah. I have Theatrhythm FF for 3DS and enjoy it.

  • Well now i have a good enough reason to buy a vita. Only reason i bought a PSP and a PS3 in the first place was for Project Diva Theater 2nd, with extend and F coming out the investment of purchasing the hardware was well worth it.

I will wait and see how the release goes before committing in buying a Vita. It will also depends if all the features are still the same as the Jap release, such as AR mode, and DLCs, etc.

I bought the original Jap release of Project diva F (ps3) physical copy and the downloaded one for the English release, i felt that it was the best way of showing my support and also hoping that they would take more interest and bring in the vita one or a possible F2.

So if anyone from sony/sega reads this please keep in mind that there are some vocaloid fans out there that will purchase the hardware to enjoy a couple set of games, until now i had no reason what so ever to get a vita but with this news i am definitely thinking it over.

Good job Sony/sega for listening to your costumers.

  • Tomorrow’s the day! I can finally now spend that Christmas money I got last year. Thanks SEGA; this is why Planeptune will always be the best nation.

  • I am really hyped for the game, but really disapointed tehre’s no physical release. I mean, there’s not much space, even on a 32 GB memory card, when you are a playstation plus user, and downloading a Big Game is long. Plus, I don’T know how it works in the rest of the world, but here in Montreal Quebec, the plan for having unlimited download can get to a 100$/month, otherwise you can have 100 GB/month and it’s not that much if you have a PS3/PC/PSVita streaming, wi-fi smartphone (etc.) so if you delete/download/delete… then there’s a point in the month you can no more download and have to wait for the end of the month (that not a big deal, I mean waiting, but one game gets delayed on the download which can delay another game etc.)

    And I don’t like digital-only games :3

  • It came out today. It’s a really good game, I’ve played a few songs on it. To be honest, it’s a little harder than playing it on PS3 (mainly because the buttons are smaller and closer together) but it’s still major fun. It’s pretty addicting too.
