The Drop: New PlayStation Releases for February 11th, 2014
The Drop

Strong, witty, and a little rough around the edges, Ellie from The Last of Us played a tremendous role in making the critically-acclaimed PS3 game shine. Her endearing dialogue and emotional connection with Joel provide The Last of Us with several layers of narrative. But there’s more of her story to be told.

This week on Friday, The Last of Us: Left Behind arrives on PS3. The DLC explores Ellie’s past, along with her connection with close friend and confidant, Riley. This additional chapter in the world of The Last of Us bestows gamers with intimate insight into defining moments of Ellie’s past.

But there’s more coming this week to the world of PlayStation. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII launches on PS3, concluding Lightning’s chapter in the long-running JRPG series. Lightning Returns features a large, open world, tons of sidequests, and an elaborate customization system that will let players design their ideal fighter.

For a complete list of games coming this week, read on. And enjoy the Drop!

  • New Jeff Minter game for Vita!
    Sold!

  • Great run down! Thanks Ryan

  • Finally Ellie is back!!

  • I hope Pac-Man is compatible with Vita.

Sucks we likely won’t see any native pac-man action on Vita.

  • Anyhoo, good day for my Vita. Two retail games I’m looking forward to.

Playing Toukiden first, besides will probably get here first.

And a tower defense game on Vita. We need more!

  • @genius527 I post here because that’s what I always do. And also, Hyper Crazy Climber is not a a brand new popular game. Just an old PS1 import that no one gives a crap about. I’m just curious why it wasn’t released on last week’s PSN update. I got my answer now. Stop being so obsessed with me, it’s like my reputation here got myself a fanboy.

@Teflon02 Darn, I thought you’ll never come back. I would be happy if you never show up again because I won’t miss you.

  • I’m hyped for the Vita releases. Great month to be a Playstation owner and Plus member. I swear I’m not a bot.

  • Only looking forward to Castlevania.

  • Oh also PLEASE BRING INTELLIGENT CUBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ SoylentPie: Hahaha! No, seriously, you think you sound like a bot? Bots try to tell us how their moms make a ton of money for only working a few hours a week from home.
It’s nice to see so many new people who just come in, make a nice comment and go on their merry way, rather than ripping on people or being negative.
Glad to hear you’re enjoying your Vita. I still love mine, but kinda thinking about buying that new Borderlands 2 bundle with the Slim and having two of them. Then I can have up to 200 icons, lol.

I swear I’m not a bot either… or on Sony’s payroll, though that’d be cool. Get paid to play games before release. Yes please. :)

  • I kinda regret buying a ps4 this early . Love the console, but its frustrating to see all this awesomeness that i cant play. Where is the ps4 love? My O.G. Ps3 died after 5 years of greatness and instead of replacing it i put that cash towards a ps4. Please dont tell me outlast is the only game im getting in February. My year of plus feels kinda pointless on ps4.

  • No PS4 love :-(

  • Danganronpa!! Well it’s a stopgap measure while waiting for Virtue’s Last Reward’s sequel… or the Vita port of 999. Hey, there’s nothing wrong in hoping, right? By the way I just realised that PS Store is now accessible on PC. I have no idea when it was released… sorry for not paying attention lol.

  • Cmon Sony…. When will we get PS Store midnight game and DLC releases? How difficult is that?
