The Drop: New PlayStation Releases for March 4th, 2014
The Drop

The night is dark, and the howls of the undead fill the air like a despairing fog. As you survey abandoned streets, wrecked cars littering the sidewalks, you hear the ghouls approach. They nip at your heels and scratch as you pass. They swell around you, and you turn to face them with a pounding heart. Luckily, you’re armed. You empty clip after clip into the mass of rotting bodies. Congratulations! You just earned a high score.

Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition is coming to PS4, and it’s bringing back the cult-classic PS3 shooter with new features and upgraded visuals. Grab a friend and fight through the throngs of undead in adrenaline-pumping firefights for high scores and survival.

Not a zombie fan? The hotly-anticipated South Park: The Stick of Truth is also headed to PlayStation this week. Experience a hilarious RPG written by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and journey on an epic quest to become “cool.”

  • No love for The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 2?

  • I have a good idea: put the freakin prices in the drop. Or at the very least, explain why u dont include them now.

  • Can’t wait to play Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition! It looks like tons of fun. Beyond!

  • More excited for Awesomenauts Assemble! than I am for Dead Nation. PS4 is quickly becoming a dumping ground for everything zombie, and it’s not cool. It’s making for a really slow start to software offerings.

  • When will final fantasy x/x2 hd come to the PlayStation store for preorder?

  • Actually meant everything horror, not zombie.

  • Can’t wait for Miku. Wish we had info on how much the extra songs pack will be though.

  • BEYOND! and good drop Ryan.

  • BEYOND!!! Can’t wait for Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition (for free!) and South Park! (Seriously been waiting for SP for 2 years now, I can’t believe it’s finally here!)

  • Do you guys have an estimate when new avatars will be available for the PS4? thanks

  • So excited for this month. Ffx/x-2 for vita. Infamous and hopefully minecraft for ps4. This month is going to rock. Ah and thank you Ryan and Kristen for your hard work. BEYOND!!!!

  • Project Diva for Vita! I cannot wait to get my hands on that game!

  • Beyond Ryan! Hope you had a great birthday last week! Great drop! My wallet suffers every week!

  • no ps4 lego movie demo?

  • Demo for that NASCAR game? Special PS Plus price? Can’t wait to see what’s in store for Monday.

  • Being a vita owner I am a ‘lil disappointed that some of the titles listed are not available for the vita. Dead Nation, and South Park would port nicely to the vita. Why aren’t they? I don’t think South Park or Dead Nation require gobs of processing power to make this happen. I suspect it’s to push people to buy a PS4. Booo!

  • Looking forward to the mobile companion for Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition, but when will iPad get playstation app support? iPhone seems bit too small to me.

  • Is there going to be any sales, I like sales.

  • When are we going to get the MLBTV app for PS4?

  • Miku looks interesting on Vita and PS3 has some good stuff here. I wish South Park would at least be ported to current gen consoles, I want to play it on my PS4, not PS3 :/

  • Good drop.I am looking forward to playing Dead Nqtion on the PS4.

  • Good drop I am looking forward to playing Dead Nation on the PS4.

  • hi Ryan Clement, nice blog.. dead nation is nice game for ps4.. i might play it again.. i want play South Park more than anything else but the problem is i don’t have ps3 anymore.. it died last two month ago.. it is 3 years old.. i agree with Mando44646.. that really shame if south park is not for ps4 too beside ps3.. ughhhh

  • Looking forward to Dead Nation. Great Month for games. ETA on PS4 Avatars?

  • Sony, please put these PSP titles to PS Vita’s store:

    – Ace Combat: Skies of Deception
    – Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
    – Final Fantasy
    – Final Fantasy II
    – Silent Hill: Origins
    – Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
    – Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops
    – Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact(and any other Naruto titles for PSP)
    – Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice

P.S: Before anyone will throw an attempt to tell me to use PS3 I will tell this for the last time: I don’t have PS3. And many Vita owners can tell you the same thing.

P.P.S: Still waiting for MGS1 with story mode!

  • Excellent Drop this week Ryan! Looking forward to Dead Nation. Beyond!

  • Where’s Tomb Raider? Wasn’t that supposed to be free for PS+ this month?

  • First PS3 game purchase since getting my ps4, South Park! (Which was Jan 20th so over a month)
Can’t wait for the co-op action of Dead Nation for ps4 too! Love Coop games! Keep those coming! (Online coop though.. local is pointless these days)

  • @37
Remmy this is NEW GAMES dropping, not the PS+ post.

  • @26
You’ve had PLENTY of free Vita games for plus come out, those weren’t good enough? Spoiled much?
The PS4 is 40x better than your little handheld device too by the way, that’s why they are pushing for the better system.

  • South Park = GOTY

and way better than generic crappy “games” like The Last of Us. Hooray, South Park isn’t a linear hallway corridor QTE simulator!

  • Sweet Project Diva f demo for Vita can use that to practice while I wait for my check :D

  • @39 I know that. I only got PS+ like a month ago, so I’m not too familiar on how it works. .

  • Still no LBP Vita DLC level kit?

  • ミクサンは僕のうたひめ (^-^)

  • so any news on the pjd:f’s storage requirements? I only have a 4gb mem card

  • So ready for hours of south park

  • @40 how can you even compare two platforms that are in two completely different target areas, not to mention that the vita is a companion to the ps4, sure the ps4 has tons of processing power and a marque of potential but you shouldn’t down play the vita just because you believe it to be inferior. Sure it lacks the processing power that the ps4 has but that doesn’t mean that it lacks a library of killer games, also not to be forgotten is the fact that the vita specializes in portability something that unfortunately without a hardware mod of great degree the ps4 would not be able to achieve , not without the help of the vita. So now i want to know why it is that you believe a system designed for portability rather than home usage would ever be inferior to its stationary counterpart. The two are not the same , they don’t exactly have the same audience, don’t you ever forget that when you look at the console market.
