As you may have seen just a few weeks ago, SCEA’s SVP of Marketing, Guy Longworth, revealed the first campaign spot for the upcoming PS4 exclusive, inFAMOUS Second Son. Featuring the tunes of Seattle-based, Mudhoney’s “Touch Me I’m Sick,” that gameplay spot is an awesome example of the sorts of experiences you’ll be having later this month when the game launches.

We think the spot was a great kickoff to our Enjoy Your Power campaign, and as we were working on ideas on how to communicate the absolute joy that comes from having extraordinary powers, we started to wonder, “What would it be like if it happened in real life?” From there, the seeds to this new spot were sown. After a few months of hard work, we’re all happy to show you what we think that might be like… and how much fun we think it would be to mess with (Or shake up?) the D.U.P.

We can’t wait until Second Son launches on March 21st so you can tell us what you think of your powers.

    With a $69.99 Canadian Price tag, I wouldn’t be buying this game… no matter how many trailers you release.

    Thank God MGSV is coming out 3 days before.

    I’m wondering whats going to keep me busy after inFamous until Watch Dogs @May 27th though.

    Either way… Second son will be good for multiple play throughs and I cant wait.

    Marllow, quit your spamming and whining. You’re honestly the one that’s going to miss out on a great game. Going to pre-order tonight and see if there’s a collector’s edition available cause I’d pay more than 60$ for a game like this.

    LOL @people arguing game costs in Canada. It’s not the exchange rate or the canadian dollar, its just priced higher. All other games (PS3 and other consoles) are priced the same in both countries. Our dollar was worst than that before and the games were priced the same too.

    Looks good, but your marketing folks need to splice in at least a few seconds of “real-time” footage. Some of these games look incredible, and live-action stuff doesn’t convey that.

    Re: Canadians, if you preordered it earlier, you’d be safe with the $60 price tag. Not all games are getting a hike too, or haven’t yet. So preorder as much as you can off Amazon – even if it doesn’t have a release date – and you’ll lock in that price. They don’t charge you until it ships either, so you’re not losing money.

    Again, marketing teams needs to show more about it being an ACTUAL VIDEO GAME. If your going to do live action, make sure people know what the hell its about.

    an entire 1:36 and almost none of that time is spent telling anybody that this is a Fantastic video game Only on PS4.

    The clip was well done, but whats the point if no one knows whats going on, or what its for.

    Marllow-x, you seem like a decent person. Good luck on your boycott, although waiting a few months has the same effect since the price will go down.

    Is it just the PS4 games selling at higher price in Canada? I was pleasantly surprised that the prices didn’t change in America, although I thought the new gen games would be more expensive.

    Cristian: I’m not watching anything. I like to be spoiler-free so I follow a strict media blackout for the games that I most highly anticipate. And since I have no other games to play on my PS4, you bet I’m looking forward to Second Son!

    Another Canadian that WILL NOT pay these inflated prices.

    I remember complaining about this quite a few years back. Canadian versions used to be priced higher and it was always blamed on a low CAN dollar.

    Although, when the CAN dollar was higher than the US dollar I don’t remember seeing any discounts for us – we got par, and I was perfectly happy with that. Not a great business model for SONY.

    So, is that Troy Baker? If it is, you guys would have an easy time casting for a movie compared to other game franchises (Last of US) I like that you use what your actors really look like. I also wonder if you guys hate doing any hair physics for your main character. Cole had a shaved head and Delsin has a beenie.

    TUSTIN1 I just checked the Store quickly, and it looks like Infamous SS is the only game selling for that price. The rest are $59 or lower.

    I was just wondering, what’s gonna be the “cannon” storyline for this game? The events after the good ending or evil ending from inFamous 2? I’m guessing the evil one for obvious reasons I won’t spoil, but I wanted to make sure.

    I wanted to bring up an issue that that has to deal game gamma developers make games at 2.2 gamma which is correct because are tv’s correct it through its inverse to give us linear gamma of 1. ps3 and ps4 should have a gamma 1 on the gpu so the games look correct on our hdtv’s but from but they are gamma corrected to the inverse of 2.2 and gives a gamma of 0.8 which causes games to be to dark and fuzzy when set correctly. i was hoping you guys could try to pass this on to sony so they could try to correct it in a firmware update.

    MARLLOW-X, I wish you luck on your boycott. The last time they raised prices due to a weaker Canadian dollar, it took AGES after CAD hit par -and even above par- for them to actually return prices back to normal.

    Having said that, from last E3 up until very recently, you could have pre-ordered the game for $40-50, respectively. When shop.ca gets more infamous in stock, you should also be able to get the physical copy with free shipping for $60 with the RETAILMENOT coupon. Videogamesplus.ca also has the game listed at $60, but with $2.99 domestic shipping rates within Canada. You can also try price-matching either of these sites at one of the big box retailers like Futureshop or Best Buy.

    It’s also ‘normal’ price at thesource.ca.

    There are still ways to support the games/developers you love without supporting the price hikes (which aren’t limited to Sony published games, anyways).

    Hahahaha I’ve just remembered why I cheered every time a Canadian lost in the winter Olympics, it’s not even anything personal because I only know Canadian vaguely, though I do find seal clubbing immensely off quay and sick so maybe that’s why?

    Anyway I’m chipping in from across the pond and thought I’d let all you hard done by Canadians, and Americans too for that matter, know that the pre-order price of the standard edition of Second Son is 48 quid in the UK which is $80 and on mainland Europe it’s going for 70 Euro which is $97. Please feel free to check that out for yourselves on amazon.co.uk and amazon.de if you think I’m winding you up so please stop gobbing off about your prices because they are genuine bargain basement compared with what we have to fork out in this part of the world.
