It’s easy to look at Lone Survivor’s art style and think it’s not going to scare you, but this game is legitimately freaky. You’ll take the role of a creeptastic guy attempting to survive in a city overrun by disease, which apparently turns you into a nasty walking ball of fleshy bits. Given the scarcity of ammo, you’ll likely be focused on hiding from the flesh monsters roaming the world versus conducting constant head-on assaults. The story unfolds based on your choices throughout the game and there are multiple endings to discover as a result. The final bonus is that this title is Cross-Buy, so PlayStation Plus members will receive both the PS3 and PS Vita versions of the game.

Last year, my main complaint was that Sony (like lots of other publishers/developers) is blatantly trying its very hardest to force the indie scene on everyone, whether they liked that genre or not.
This year, my main complaint is that Sony is giving me far too many fantastic games for free, and easily five times that amount of games being offered at deep discounts that are too good to pass up.
Sony could not have pulled off a more profound 180, in my eyes. My PS+ subscription is now indispensable, and will be a permanent service for as long as I continue to own any Sony gaming consoles. I’ve convinced at least five of my friends to get their own subscription, simply because I don’t want anyone to feel jelly when I brag about my awesome library of games.
And, FFX-HD drops next week… as if my backlog wasn’t huge enough as it is.
Just to prove my point; I already own hard copies of every single GTA game ever released. I still own the UMDs for GTA LCS and VCS, and still have all three PS2 GTA games in their original cases.
Still going to purchase all of them again next week for my PS3. $13.15 for five full GTA games?
Even though I already own them all, I am STILL going to buy them again, so I can play them on my 50″ HDTV. Who could pass that up?

And “indie” isn’t a genre, it’s a class.
On top of that, a real industry insider would have always appreciated indie developers for keeping the heart of the industry beating, not only by constantly refreshing interest in ever-evolving concepts (which is essential in an industry driven by pure artistry), but also with valuable income that undoubtedly keeps the boat afloat. A real industry insider knows that big-budget games take more time, expenses, and dedication to produce than ever before, so, at this point, the bite-size experiences indies provide as an accompaniment to, and sometimes as a link between the increasingly sporadic major releases, are needed much more than ever… to the point where the industry may struggle to survive without them. And you wonder why they’re being “pushed”… but any real (and humble) insider would have already known…
Oh, and thanks for the discount on Vessel, Sony. I’ll be takin’ that. :)
I hope the newest Pinball Arcade tables are finally released tomorrow as well. Can’t wait to play Fish Tales and Black Rose on the big screen.

Aww c’mon man, why are you always hatin’ on GTA? You’re usually pretty cool about everything else…
GTA games are extremely well designed. And that’s not fanboy talk. The level of depth and detail in GTA games far surpasses most, and the sense of humor is straight-up genius. I know some of the missions can get repetitive, but the beauty of an open-ended sandbox game is that you can always personally stylize the results, even in those seemingly linear segments. Rockstar has a lot of truly talented people in their crew. It’s undeniable.

@50, I refuse to buy any game over $60. It’s just disrespectful for CANADA to be paying more for games cause the worth of our dollar when it isn’t raised for america in the opposite position. I’ll even start buying my games all used at $60 if that’s what it takes. I’m tired of this lack of fair play for Canada. We are still making the same amount we always were, we have always paid more for gaming then america, can’t we ever just get the same respect smh.
Bought Lone Survivor a while back well worth it. To all the people saying nothing for you this week, you should reconsider, this is an amazing game, and when you complete all the endings and piece the story together, it’s even greater.

Oh man. Those CoD sales are terrible. I know Sony doesn’t set the price, but how does Activision expect to makes any sales at those prices? Their market has already moved on to Ghosts. Dumb.

(As for GTA, well, tried the PSP one we got through Plus, tuned to a radio channel I like the tunes on, some classical set or such, but then discovered I really wouldn’t be willing to acclimate to the driving in this game with “Auto” in the title, so nixed it. Maybe I ought crack open my Steam set sometime… Or have more of a go at Grand Theft Horse.)
Well, if the Infamous price hike is because of the strong Canadian dollar, that’s incredible. Although if that was the reason, you’d expect everything in the store to go up, not just this one game. Well, looks like my commitment to an all-digital future will just have to wait for a sale! Well played!
Like I say, I don’t necessarily disagree with paying more for games this generation, but as this is a lone example, with no announcement as to why, it does reek of opportunism. Which I also don’t disagree with – this is business after all, but at least be open about why, Sony.

Even though it’s not listed because it doesn’t have a PS+ discount, I will be buying the Season Pass of Black Ops II. I bet that game’s DLC will never go on sale again after this year and Activision will abandon it just like their older COD titles. Been 2 years since I waited for a sale on DLC for the original Black Ops since I missed 2 of them. Don’t want that to happen again, that’s why I’m buying it.
